How to create Contacts in PowerShell

Setup:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controllers
Windows Server 2012 Domain Functional Level
Windows Server 2012 R2 ADFS with Office 365
Exchange Online (Not On-Prem)
I created a csv file that holds Name, FirstName, LastName, ExternalEmailAddress for a list of users I need to import into AD via PowerShell. I tried using the Azure PowerShell to create the contacts in O365>Exchange Online but that has failed because
of our ADFS with O365.
Is there a way to run this in PowerShell to create the Contacts in Active Directory? I do not have Exchange On-Prem anymore so I cannot use New-MailContact cmdlet locally. Once again that did not work with Exchange Online PowerShell. I received an error
stating it already exists for most of the users in the csv file even though I do not have them created as a contact in my AD but there are User accounts. Not the same thing so not sure why O365 gave me an error.
Any help/Guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Blacksuit,
If you want to create contact in Office 365, how about using Exchange online remotely, you can create a remote powershell session to connect Exchange online:
$LiveCred = Get-Credential
$Session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri "https://outlook.office365.com/powershell/" -Credential $LiveCred -Authentication Basic -AllowRedirection
Import-PSSession $Session
The result is for your reference:

    DEAR,
after test by my colleague, after creating contact person by BAPI_ADDRCONTPART_SAVEREPLICA , then he should input the parter and name into BI structure bknvk when he use bi fm to create customer, then the contact person will be associated with the customer.
But i use BI fm 'VENDOR_BDCDATA' to create vendor, there is no such structure to do so. so no contact person associated with the vendor, but the contact person has been created and just not associated with this vendor in table KNVK.
are there any other methods to do such things to associate contact person with my vendor after call BI FM  'VENDOR_BDCDATA' ?

Attempting to deploy Jabber for Windows.  I can't find where in CUPS to build the contact groups that will deploy to the users.  We are wanting to build our groups by our locations and deploy them from there.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Darren,
With CUPS 8.6(1), you can import users contact lists and as well create groups via the bulk administration page of CUPS.
This is outlined in the deployment guide below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cups/8_6/english/install_upgrade/deployment/guide/dgcupc.html#wp1292041
Keep in mind, this functionality is only available in CUPS 8.6(1) or higher and not in any older version.

  • How to create contact person on SAP Solution Manager

    Dear all.
I installed SAP Solman SR3, I config solution manager for download support package. When I use the transaction AISUSER to assign user and contact person. I receive the information:" Partner 000xxxxxx not found". I saw in Solman SR2 didn't have this error.
Now I want to define contact person ! Please help me if you know about this problem.
    thanks all so much.

    Hi Thao
We have 2 column in AISUSER transaction table....
one is USer in which userid for the person is entered
sec is contact person in which S-Userid is entered(Delete the S and Leading Zeros from it)
The error which you are facing is because when you enter the entry a check execute by the system is enquireing the table AIContacts which is update by a background job .....................so have you scheduled this standard job .........REFRESH_ADMIN_DATA_FROM_SUPPORT.
Also posting the help log for the ur convenience....
    Procedure to remove the error
Please check if you entered the correct number (S-User without S) or use the value help for this field. If the value help doesn't provide any data the report AI_SC_REFRESH_READ_ONLY_DATA has not been run yet. It should be scheduled daily with transaction SM_CONFIG_JOBS as job REFRESH_ADMIN_DATA_FROM_SUPPORT. However if you want to run this job successfully the user who created the job must be maintained in transaction AISUSER first. So you should ignore the warning for this purpose, maintain the partner for this user and continue maintaining this table after the job has fetched the contact data for the value help from SAP Support Portal successfully.
Even then it can happen, that you don't find the partner number in the value help. The reason for this may be, that the user doesn't have enough authorizations for some actions, since only users with certaine authorizations are downloaded from SAP Support Portal. So you also may ignore the warning in this case, as long as there is no typo in the partner number.
    Hope it clarifies your doubt
    Regards

  • How to create contacts group on iphone5

    Hi
How can I set up a contacts group on my iphone 5?
All the help I can find online is outdated...
    I'm using itunes 11
    OS X 10.8.2 (new imac)

iTunes isn't relevant, but the Contacts app on your Mac is: Set up groups there, and add contacts to these groups per drag and drop. Sync with the iPhone, also via iCloud, and find the groups there, too.

  • How to create VMs via Powershell with specfiic requirements

So I'm looking for a way to automate VM creation and figured I would check out Powershell.
When we create VMs, we have a template folder that has sysprep'd files for the C, D, and P drives that we use.  Some of our hosts are 2012 and some are 2012 R2.  With R2 we create Gen2 machines which use different types of HDD setups inside of
Hyper-V so not sure if there are different commands for that.
When I create a VM by hand, I create the VM normally and choose to attach a HDD later.  I then go get the Template for C and copy it into the folder that gets created automatically by Hyper V.  I then create matching folders in the area that we
store the D and P drives and copy those template files in as well.  I then go back into Hyper-v, modify the settings of the VM and attach/browse to the files to add in the 3 drives.  I also then have to enable VLans and put in the proper VLan number.
Once those things are done, I fire up the VM and use it normally.
So I know I can use the new-vm command to create the VM, but I'm assuming I'd have to create the needed folders and copy over the needed files prior to doing that.  Can I specify all the above information in the new-vw command or do I need to create
the VM and the modify the VM once it's there?
I've not used Powershell to do much with VMs, and definitely not to create them, so I'm just looking to get pointed down the right path before I start one way and then have to start over.
    Thanks!!

This sounds like a great project to learn more about some base, PowerShell cmdlets, and the Hyper-V module's cmdlets. I'm pretty certain you can get this accomplished using the following cmdlets:
    New-VM: To create the VM.
Get-VM: To get information about your new VM, such as it's location (path), where you will do your copying. Try Get-VM -Name
    nameofyourvm | Select-Object * and you'll see some paths.
Copy-Item: Copy your C template from its source, to the destination you get from Get-VM cmdlet above.
New-Item: To create a folder for D and P drives, again using the path from Get-VM.
    Copy-Item: Copy your D and P templates.
From here out you may need Set-VM to "modify the settings" of the VM, a drive cmdlet or two to attach the drives, and a network cmdlet or two to get your VLANs setup. To see all the Hyper-V cmdlets, enter Get-Command -Module Hyper-V. Everything
you'll likely need is in there. When you see one you want to read more about, use the Get-Help cmdlet. You can also narrow down the cmdlets returned by Get-Command by doing things like this: Get-Command -Module Hyper-V -Noun '*drive*' -and- Get-Command -Module
    Hyper-V -Noun '*network*'.
Start with the first step - creating a new VM with the New-VM cmdlet. It includes the parameter -NoVHD that will allow you to create the VM without attaching a virtual drive. There are a few other parameters you'll likely want to include when you create your
VM. One is -Generation where you indicate 1 or 2. Study the New-VM cmdlet from it's help file (Get-Help New-VM -ShowWindow) and get this part complete. When you're done, you can move on to creating folders, copying files, connecting drives, etc.

    Okay I found the solution.
Reference material : How to Create Contact,Phone, Email under Communication tab for Customer Account Site using API [ID 985500.1]
    docs.oracle.com/cd/B34956_01/current/acrobat/120hztig.pdf
Repeat Run --3. Create a physical location with customer account site level Address (ie, Specific contact address details). Note down x_location_id value
    GET "x_party_id: " from "--8. Create a relation cont-org using party_id from step 7 and party_id from step 2"
    Now Run "--4. Create a party site using party_id from step 2 and location_id from step 3" passing "x_party_id" from Step 8 & x_location_id from Step 3
Commit the changes and you will able to populate the account site specific contact person details

  • How to create a user account by mirroring another account in PowerShell (Trying to learn to use Powshell for some daily AD tasks intead of the GUI)

    Hi,
I am trying to create user accounts via PowerShell instead of the Gui in server 2008 R2 (PowerShell 2.0).
I know how to create a user account with the following Power Shell command below is one from a dummy domain I created to practice.
PS C:\Users\Administrator> New-ADUser -SamAccountName "TestOut" -UserPrincipalNa
me "[email protected]" -GivenName "Test" -Surname "out" -DisplayName "Testou
t" -Name "Testout" -Enabled $true -Path "CN=users,DC=bwcat,DC=net,DC=int" -Accou
ntPassword (Read-Host -AsSecureString "Enter Account Password")
However when doing day to day tasks where I work normally we have a new hire, they contact IT and ask that a user account is created.   I will ask who they would like to mirror.
I then would go into the gui pull up the user that they want to mirror right click him and choose copy.  This would create a new user account that I would then fill out.
I am wondering if its possible to do this same thing via PowerShell, or  if its not an option because it takes more work type up everything than it does to go into the gui and do it.
    Anyway thanks for the help.

    Hi Wilder, hi Mark,
first of all: The tutorial sources Mark posted - especially the book "Powershell 3 in A month of lunches" - are good to get a baseline start. A really great reference, especially when you try to learn it while still dealing with your daily business.
On another note, Wilder: While I fully agree that learning things sequentially is usually the best, I too jumped right in instead of learning how to walk first (though it's been some time now. Fewer years than you'd think, but still ...). So I thought I'd
give you a little aid with that function husk, so you could just stuff interesting bits into an available structure, making use of the fun tools in a useful context (It's fun fiddling around with the commands, but if you have to type in all of them manually
each time, using the GUI is often just faster. Doing fun things and being efficient with it feels even better though ...). So ... while I
do agree with yourself, learn it the Correct & Proper Way, I also do
intend to finish this little explanation about the husk, all the way to the end.
Everything below this paragraph is part of this.
    function Copy-ADUser
    <#
    .SYNOPSIS
A brief description of the Copy-ADUser function.
    .DESCRIPTION
A detailed description of the Copy-ADUser function.
    .PARAMETER GivenName
A description of the GivenName parameter.
    .PARAMETER Surname
A description of the Surname parameter.
    .PARAMETER Template
A description of the Template parameter.
    .EXAMPLE
PS C:\> Copy-ADUser -GivenName "Max" -Surname "Mustermann" -Template "Jonny.Normal"
    .NOTES
    Additional information about the function.
    #>
    [CmdletBinding()]
    Param (
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $Surname,
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $GivenName,
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $Template
    ) # Create finished Strings
    $JoinedName = $GivenName + "." + $Surname
    # Create new User
    $NewUser = New-ADUser -Surname $Surname -GivenName $GivenName -DisplayName "$Surname, $GivenName" -SamAccountName $JoinedName -Name "$Surename, $GivenName" -PassThru
    # Copy from old User
    $NewUser | Add-ADPrincipalGroupMembership -MemberOf (Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $Template | Where { $_.Name -ne 'Domain Users' })
    # Do Whatever else you feel like doing
This is again the same function husk I posted earlier. Only this time, I filled a little logic (the pieces that were already posted in this thread). This time, I'll not only go over each part again ... I'll do it by reposting the segments and trying to show
some examples on how to modify the parts. Thus some of it will be repetitive, but this way all the info is in one spot.
    Segment: Comment Based Help
    <#
    #>
That's the premier documentation part of a function, that teaches a user what the function does and how to use it. It's what's shown when using the Get-Help cmdlet.
Comment texts are not restricted to single lines however. For example you could replace ...
    .EXAMPLE
PS C:\> Copy-ADUser -GivenName "Max" -Surname "Mustermann" -Template "Jonny.Normal"
    ... with ...
    .EXAMPLE
PS C:\> Copy-ADUser -GivenName "Max" -Surname "Mustermann" -Template "Jonny.Normal"
Creates a new user named Max Mustermann and copies the group memberships of the already existing user Jonny Normal to this new User
... and get an explanation on what the example does when using Get-Help with the
-Detailed parameter (Explaining examples is always a good idea).
    Segment: Parameter
    [CmdletBinding()]
    Param (
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $Surname,
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $GivenName,
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $Template
This is the segment that tells Powershell what input your function accepts. Each parameter of Copy-ADUser you set will be available in the next segment as a variable of the same name. You can add additional parameters if you need more information for your
logic. For example, let's add a parameter that allows you to specify what Organization the new user should belong to:
    [CmdletBinding()]
    Param (
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $Surname,
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $GivenName,
    [string]
    $Organization,
    [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)]
    [string]
    $Template
That's how that would look like. You may notice that I didn't add the line with
"[Parameter(Mandatory = $true)] this time. This means you
may add the Organization parameter when calling Copy-ADUser, but you need not.
    Segment: Logic
    # Create new User
    $NewUser = New-ADUser -Surname $Surname -GivenName $GivenName -DisplayName "$Surname, $GivenName" -SamAccountName "$GivenName.$Surename" -Name "$Surename, $GivenName" -PassThru
    # Copy from old User
    $NewUser | Add-ADPrincipalGroupMembership -MemberOf (Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $Template | Where { $_.Name -ne 'Domain Users' })
    # Do Whatever else you feel like doing
This is the part of the function that does the actual work. Compared to the first husk I posted, this time there are two commands in it (and some comments). First, I create a new user, using the information passed into
the parameters -Surname and -GivenName. Then I Copy the group memberships of the user identified by the information given by the
    -Template parameter.
    So, let's modify it!
    # Tell the user you are starting
Write-Host "Starting to create the user account for $GivenName $Surname"
    # Create new User
    $NewUser = New-ADUser -Surname $Surname -GivenName $GivenName -DisplayName "$Surname, $GivenName" -SamAccountName "$GivenName.$Surename" -Name "$Surename, $GivenName" -PassThru
    # Tell the user you are copying Group Memberships
    Write-Host "Copying the group-memberhips of $Template to $GivenName $Surname"
    # Copy from old User
    $NewUser | Add-ADPrincipalGroupMembership -MemberOf (Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $Template | Where { $_.Name -ne 'Domain Users' })
    # Do Whatever else you feel like doing
Now after adding a few lines, the logic will tell us what it's doing (and do so before it
    is taking action)!
Hm ... didn't we create a change in the Parameter Segment to add an -Organization parameter? Let's use it!
    # If the -Organization parameter was set, the $Organization variable will be longer than 0. Thus do ...
    if ($Organization.Length -gt 0)
    # Tell the user you are starting
Write-Host "Starting to create the user account for $GivenName $Surname in the Organization $Organization"
    # Create new User
    $NewUser = New-ADUser -Surname $Surname -GivenName $GivenName -DisplayName "$Surname, $GivenName" -SamAccountName "$GivenName.$Surename" -Name "$Surename, $GivenName" -Organization $Organization -PassThru
    # If the -Organization parameter was NOT set, the $Organization variable will have a length of 0. Thus the if-condition does not apply, thus we do the else block
    else
There! Now we first check whether the -Organization parameter was set (it's not mandatory after all, so you can skip it). If it
was set, do whatever is in the curly braces after if (...). However, if it wasn't set, do whatever is in the curly braces after
    else.
And that concludes my "minor" (and hopefully helpful) tutorial on how to use the function husk I posted :)
With this, whenever you find another cool command that helps you in the user creation process, you can simply add it, similar to what I did in these examples.
And if it all didn't make much sense, go through the tutorials in proper order and come back - it'll make much more sense then.
Cheers and good luck with PowerShell,
    Fred

I'm exhausted of trying to find a solution to a problem created by Apple. I have moved to icloud following all your instructions and now I can not use my mobile me e-mail address. I can not activate icloud because when I put my e-mail address it answers that somebody is already using my address. I have my old e-mails, but I can not receive any e-mail or send them.
I have contacted Apple Technical Support in Spain and I was sent an e-mail saying that I have to call a phone number and when I call it is always an answering machine who answers that says that I have to pay 50€ for a consultation or wait for 10 minutes. When I have made the consultation it was never mentioned that I have to pay 50€ for a phone consultation. If I don't want to wait I have to pay for the Apple Tecnical Support which cost 250 €, this was not mentioned in the technical support page.
Can somebody let me know how can I contact Apple in another way in order to talk with a human being or chat directly? I was very happy just using my mobileme e-mails, I didn't need any clouds and I was force by Apple to registered if I want to continue using my mobileme e-mail address.
