  • How to create a action programatically

    Hi ,
    Actually I am creating a button dynamically.This function is working fine.
    But I am not able to add action to that button.
    beacue samplebutton.setAction needs MethodBinding objetc and I am not able to create the same...
    ANy idea how can i bind any action to the button programatically?

    I am using below sample and it's working good.
    RichCommandButton cb = new RichCommandButton();
    String actionEL = "#{backingBeanName.actionFunctionName}";
    MethodExpression action = actionMethodExpression(actionEL);
    cb.setActionExpression(action);
    public static MethodExpression actionMethodExpression(String actionName) {
    //the MethodExpression to be returned.
    MethodExpression methodExpression = null;
    //Since Action Method does not accept parameters no argtypes are needed.
    Class[] argumentTypes = new Class[0];
    FacesContext facesCtx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    Application app = facesCtx.getApplication();
    ExpressionFactory elFactory = app.getExpressionFactory();
    ELContext elContext = facesCtx.getELContext();
    methodExpression =
    elFactory.createMethodExpression(elContext, actionName, null,
    argumentTypes);
    try {
    // this methodCall does some sort of "evaluation" of the newly created MethodExpression..
    // if something is wrong... exception is thrown..
    methodExpression.getMethodInfo(elContext);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    return methodExpression;
    }

  • How to create data type programatically

    Hello,
    we are writing a custom sequence editor that will generate TestStand sequence. I can populate the generated TS sequence sequence with steps using primitive arguments like Boolean, String, Number. Our test methods also use structures and I am having problem with programatically creating custom data type that matches C# struct similarly as one would do in SeqEdit.exe
    I am assuming that there is something to do with Engine.NewDataType() and create new container, but then where to add the returned PropertyObject for it to be a type in the current sequence with a name?
    Roman

    Ray, that's great. This pointed me to right direction, thank you!
    In case someone else needs this; The example worked fine from TestStand, but not from C# :
    PropertyObjectFile[] typeFiles = MyEngine.GetTypePaletteFileList();
    PropertyObjectFile typeFile = typeFiles[0];
    TypeUsageList typeList = typeFile.TypeUsageList;
    string whyNotValid = typeList.ValidateNewTypeName(name, false, out isValidName);
    if (!isValidName)
    return null;
    PropertyObject newType = MyEngine.NewPropertyObject(PropertyValueTypes.PropValType_Container, false, "", 0);
    newType.NewSubProperty("MyNum", PropertyValueTypes.PropValType_Number, false, "", 0);
    newType.SetValNumber("MyNum", 0, 123.0);
    newType.NewSubProperty("MyStr", PropertyValueTypes.PropValType_String, false, "", 0);
    newType.SetValString("MyStr", 0, "AA");
    newType.Name = name;
    typeList.InsertType(newType, 0, TypeCategories.TypeCategory_CustomDataTypes);
    typeFile.IncChangeCount();
    typeFile.SaveFileIfModified(false);
    SetValNumber and SetValString threw an exception on non-existing sub-property so I added the red lines.
    There is one feature not mentioned in example - If you want to have the type in the sequence file instead of INI type files, it also works like this
     PropertyObjectFile typeFile = MySequenceFile as PropertyObjectFile;

  • How to create a Database programatically?

    Hi,
    I couldnt not find the words to describe the below question in short for the title:
    I am working on a Java application that runs of a JDBC database.
    I need to be able to create a new database if the application is run on the system for the first time.
    Without the user having to go through the JDBC registering any databases through jdbcad32
    No mysql servers available to the user either.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks in advance

    Pointless if the database is something like Oracle/MS SQL Server/DB2. Not to mention annoying and probably a negative in sales since DBAs in those cases will want to control their own systems.
    Also pointless with other databases as well such as MySQL, Postgres. Those must be installed anyways. And if you are not providing an installer then why not just provide a script (since they must be profficient anyways.) And if you are providing an installer then why not just make it as a script?
    Smaller solutions such as MS Access, then
    1. Create the original database.
    2. Deliver it as a 'blank' with the application.
    3. When 'installing' copy the 'blank' to the 'real' location.
    A true embedded solution can probably be done via the above. That would probably still be my solution. However in a case like that a separate application can be constructed to create the actual database. (File based obviously.)

  • How to create and configure JMSConnection Factory programatically?

    Guys,
              How to create and configure JMSConnection Factory programatically and (<b>NOT THRU CONSOLE</b>)?
              There is an option using the JMSHepler to create the Queues.
              Is there an option to create ConnectionFactories using the same or other classes?
              anshuk

    There are no 8.1 "JMSHelper" extensions for creating conection factories (they've been added for 9.0). Instead, you can use a variety of more generic methods.
              You can create configuration scripts using WLST or wlconfig or wlshell, or make direct calls from java into WebLogic's public JMX mbean APIs (all config tools, including the console, call into these APIs).
              For a JMX example, see the implementation of the "JMSML" utility on dev2dev.bea.com. For WLST examples search for "+WLST +JMS".

  • How to create a report based on a DataSet programatically

    I'm working on a CR 2008 Add-in.
    Usage of this add-in is: Let the user choose from a list of predefined datasets, and create a totally empty report with this dataset attached to is. So the user can create a report based on this dataset.
    I have a dataset in memory, and want to create a new report in cr2008.
    The new report is a blank report (with no connection information).
    If I set the ReportDocument.SetDataSource(Dataset dataSet) property, I get the error:
    The report has no tables.
    So I must programmatically define the table definition in my blank report.
    I found the following article: https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/869, and came up with something like this:
    internal class NewReportWorker : Worker
          public NewReportWorker(string reportFileName)
             : base(reportFileName)
    public override void Process()
             DatabaseController databaseController = ClientDoc.DatabaseController;
             Table table = new Table();
             string tabelName = "Table140";
             table.Name = tabelName;
             table.Alias = tabelName;
             table.QualifiedName = tabelName;
             table.Description = tabelName;
             var fields = new Fields();
             var dbField = new DBField();
             var fieldName = "ID";
             dbField.Description = fieldName;
             dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
             dbField.Name = fieldName;
             dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
             fields.Add(dbField);
             dbField = new DBField();
             fieldName = "IDLEGITIMATIEBEWIJS";
             dbField.Description = fieldName;
             dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
             dbField.Name = fieldName;
             dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
             fields.Add(dbField);
             // More code for more tables to add.
             table.DataFields = fields;
             //CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo info =
             //   new CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo();
             //info.Attributes.Add("Databse DLL", "xxx.dll");
             //table.ConnectionInfo = info;
             // Here an error occurs.
             databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
             ReportDoc.SetDataSource( [MyFilledDataSet] );
             //object path = @"d:\logfiles\";
             //ClientDoc.SaveAs("test.rpt", ref path, 0);
    The object ClientDoc referes to a ISCDReportClientDocument in a base class:
       internal abstract class Worker
          private ReportDocument _ReportDoc;
          private ISCDReportClientDocument _ClientDoc;
          private string _ReportFileName;
          public Worker(string reportFileName)
             _ReportFileName = reportFileName;
             _ReportDoc = new ReportDocument();
             // Load the report from file path passed by the designer.
             _ReportDoc.Load(reportFileName);
             // Create a RAS Document through In-Proc RAS through the RPTDoc.
             _ClientDoc = _ReportDoc.ReportClientDocument;
          public string ReportFileName
             get
                return _ReportFileName;
          public ReportDocument ReportDoc
             get
                return _ReportDoc;
          public ISCDReportClientDocument ClientDoc
             get
                return _ClientDoc;
    But I get an "Unspecified error" on the line databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
    What am i doing wrong? Or is there another way to create a new report based on a DataSet in C# code?

    Hi,
    Have a look at the snippet code below written for version 9 that you might accommodate to CR 2008, it demonstrates how to create a report based on a DataSet programmatically.

    The issue that I think you're running into is the fact that an application like this breaks some of the rules that Apple has set-up for applications. Because of this I would strongly suspect that the only way to circumvent these restrictions is to write a kernel extension that alters the way the system operates. If you download the package Ray referenced I bet it installs a .kext onto your system that provides the functionality.

  • How to create InboundPlug by Code (Programatically)

    Hi,
    I have to create Inbound Plug Programatically at runtime. I tried to look for option but could not find one. The Outnound Plug creation is possible then why Inbound Plug Creation is not available in the same way.
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dhirendra

    Hi,
    The whole requirement goes this way:
    Standard appliaction would be delivered to customers, now after this Service Center or Customer may need to change the screen flow and hence i am storing complete screen flow in an ABAP system table which decides the flow of views. To provide ease of customization i am thinking to create all plugs and Navigation links programaticaly.
    My concern is even more driven by curiosity as why OutboundPlug creation is possible programatically.
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dhirendra

  • How to create segments programatically?

    Hi Folks,
         Anyone has any idea on how to create fatwire segments programmatically?
         Is there any fatwire tags or asset API methods are available for it?
    Thanks

    Segments are basic asset types. Creating a segment should be equivalent to creating a basic asset.
    Have you tried with the usual asset:create, asset:set and asset:save tags?

  • How to create a muli line text area using JavaFx

    Hi all,
    Since the preview SDK does not contain TextArea any more, I am wondering how to create a muli line text area using JavaFX. The behaviour of this text area/field should be somehow similar to JTextArea in Swing or StyledTextWidget in SWT.
    Does JavaFX have any support for this? What would be a sensible approach to create such a widget?
    Thanks for your suggestions,
    br michael

    This is a pretty old thread (I know I came across this while searching for something similar recently), but I figured I'd throw this out there in case other people might find this useful. As I write this, JavaFX's latest version is 1.3... which may have added the needed functionality since the last post.
    You can now create a multi-line text area using a TextBox and by specifying the nubmer of lines and setting the "multiline" value to true. It may not offer all of the same functionality as JTextArea, but it did the job for what I needed... newlines by pressing enter, scrollbar if text surpasses height, etc.
    Here's a simple example:
    Group {
       content: [
          TextBox {
             text: "This is a multi-line textbox"
             lines: 10  // <-- this may/may not be necessary depending on your situation. Default is 5.
             multiline: true
