HOW TO CREATE MULTIPLE RECORDS IN A NONE DATABASE BLOCK?

I have a Form where I have a none database block with unbound items. The block
has 10 records. In the when-new-block instance I run a query by which I would
like to fill up the block with data. The code fragment looks like the
following:

The block's update allowed, insert allowed, delete allowed property is set to
true.
The result of the code above is that only the last record fetched shows up in
the block. The problem is - as I found out - is that aech record is fetched,
the values are copied to the block items, but the create_record built-in
command would not move the cursor to the next row.
Can some one please help me with this?

The problem was with the following code segment:
tmp_curr_rec_id := get_block_property( :system.current_block, current_record );
set_record_property( tmp_curr_rec_id, :system.current_block, status, new_status );
After omitting these two lines, the code worked properly.

I'd put it into the application module. You then can call the method from the controller layer or from an other application module. This way you put it into the business logic, which helps if you ever decide to use a different client approach (like swing).

Forms10 text fields inside Retek are appearing with a default 'Yellow' color. I tried setting them to grey....but they are

With the non-DB-block you have to loop over the block like:

I need to load data from a CSV file where one of the CSV values determines how many records should be inserted.

I created Proxy service(ALSB3.0) to get records from DB table. I have used Xquery function(fn-bea:execute-sql()). Using simple SQL query I got single record, but my table having multiple records. Please suggest how to get multiple records using fn-bea:execute-sql() and how to assign them in ALSB variable.

Am facing the same issue stated above that I couldnt get all the records in the table that am querying in the Proxyservice.
For example:
fn-bea:execute-sql('EsbDataSource', 'student', 'select Name from StudentList' ) is the query that am using to fetch the records from the table called StudentList which contains more than one records like
Id Name
01 XXX
02 YYY
03 ZZZ
I tried to assign the result of the above query in a variable and while trying to log the variable, I can see the below
<student>
<Name>XXX</Name>
</student>
I want to have all the records from my table in xml format but it's not coming up. I get the value only from the first row of my table.
Please suggest.

Well think of it I believe the scenario is too bird viewed hence the solution can't be exact.
But thinking of a possible solution every time a child operation fails have a catch block where you you go back to system if the parent needs to be deleted if yes, call Delete Method on the parent.
Note: Make sure that the decision on whether or not the parent record needs to be deleted will depends on the question "Does Parent Record already has several other children associated to it or not"

Creating multiple records

When creating multiple records in a table using a SBO object eg invoice object, do you have to create a new business object for each record that is created? There is a lot of overhead in doing this (eg each object takes about 1MB of mem so to create 1000 invoices would hog 1GB of mem). Is there a way to create just one instance of the object and use it to create many records? How is the object cleared in between each record creation?

Everytime you call GetBusinessObject() you should, at the end, also release the acquired memory.
This can be done with the following code in .net (C#):
System.GC.Collect();
System.GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers();
Another way to clear all the data is to call the <b>GetByKey(-1)</b>; the document with docentry '-1' does never exists and the fields of the object are normally cleared.

I know that we can just drag and drop a view object as a child (Table) of a scrollPane.

But in my mind, a record in a table is always shown in one row (or one line), am I right?
If so, it is not convient to show records with multitple columns.
Let's say, there are 20 columns to show for each record. Then we should display a record in, say 3 lines.
How can we do that?
Are there any suggestions?
I am thinking that maybe I can use secondary row set iterators for that since we can create two or more row set iterators for the same view object.
Assume I want to show three consecutive records. I can use attribute binding to show the current record in three lines by dragging attributes one by one from Data Control Palette to Design Window as Child | TextField;
But I do not know how to use a secondary row set iterator for the next record. Where shall I create a secondary row set ietrator such that I can use it to create and synchronize the bindings.

As to the coordination part, as the user selects a record in the Control Block (CB), you will need to take the Key information and modify the Data Block's (DB) "DEFAULT_WHER E" block property. The logical place to put this code is the CB When-New-Record-Instance (WNRI) trigger. You code will look something like the following:

The Control block items are assigned with values in Form level (Key_exeqry).If your CD is populated from a single table, it would be better to create a Master - Detail relationship (as Abdetu) describes.

With a lot of pictures I want to have a database to gather some information about these pictures.
First question is how to generate a record based on a file in the file system?
e.g. the pictures are "c:\fotos\2009\01\disc_001.jpg" to "c:\foto\2009\01\dis_98.jpg" .
now i want to create records with as one of the attributes the name of the picture (not the picture itself). how to create these records (based on the information of the file-ssytem). i.e. the number of records should be the same as the number of pictures.
