  • How run Procedure in SQL Developer?

    I need run procedure in SQL Developer with parameter : 2009
    create or replace PROCEDURE "update_table" (ff_year in varchar2) AS
    CURSOR c_update IS
    select DISTINCT P.mafew name, u.frew nameone, t.greddf, .........
    I click green button RUN and have new window Run PL/SQL. Where in this script I need to print 2009?

    BEGIN

    Thanks all!
    I can run the procedure like 1 or 2 example? Is it right?
    1 like Run Script
    EXEC "UPDATE_TABLE" ('2009');
    2 click RUN on UPDATE_TABLE procedure
    DECLARE
    FF_YEAR VARCHAR2(200);
    BEGIN
    FF_YEAR := '2009';
    UPDATE_TABLE(
    FF_YEAR => FF_YEAR
    END;
    What is the name of the procedure?
    Is it update_tabe (all small letters)? If so, you must reference it as "update_table" (all small letters, inside double-quotes).
    Is it UPDATE_TABLE (all capital letters)? If so, you have the choice of referencing it as "UPDATE_TABLE" (all capital letters, inside double-quotes) or as update_table, or Update_Table, or UPDATE_TABLE, or uPdAtE_taBle, or ... (any kind of letters, without quotes).
    How about commit after?How about it?
    What is the question?
    If you want to commit, say COMMIT or click on the COMMIT icon.

  • Using DEBUG Mode in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler to Log SQL

    Hello,
    I am looking for the possibilty to enable the logging of SQL in Data Modeler.
    Jeff Smith wrote an article how to do this for SQL Developer, for Data Modeler there are other configuration files. Does anyone have an idea?
    Best regards,
    Joop

    Hello Philip,
    the URL to the article of Jeff is: http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/10/using-debug-mode-in-oracle-sql-developer-to-log-sql/
    in the install directory of Data Modeler 3.3.0.734 exists a file datamodeler\datamodeler\bin\datamodeler.conf. This analogue the situation for sql Developer.
    However in this file there is no reference to a (non)debug file.
    In ide/bin directory there is a ide-logging-debug.conf and ide-logging.conf file. But they are not referenced. Should one of them be included?

  • Debugging stored procedure in SQL Server 2012

    Hi,
    Please I need your help.
    I used to debug stored procedures in SQL server 2008, 2008 R2. I'm debugging the stored procedure using SQL Server management studio. I just create a break point then I click on the debug button
    and start debugging without any problems.
    I'm talking about my local machine which I have administrator privileges on the machine. My account in the administrators group and I'm assigned in the sysadmin role in SQL server but I couldn't
    debug the stored procedure. When I create a break point and try to debug the stored procedure I'm getting a popup screen saying "To continue debugging, the firewall needs to be configured. Configuring the firewall requires privileges."
    I tried to figure out the issue but unfortunately until now I'm not able to resolve it.
    Thanks.

    The problem resolved with help of Microsoft support but it was really strange situation.
    First, the following is my environment.
    OS is Windows 8 Pro
    SQL Server 2012
    I did try everything firewall, Anti-Virus and other thing as well. I usually type (local) on the server name TextBox. I did close my Anti-Virus program, turn off windows firewall and run SQL server as administrator but I’m still
    unable to debug.
    I just do one thing and one thing only, changed the (local) on the server name TextBox to the actual server name and everything work fine. I did try that with everything close/open my Anti-Virus program, turn
    off/one windows firewall and still work fine, and I was able to debug any T-SQL in SQL server 2012 but run it as administrator.
    Anyway, I’m happy to back on the road again.
    Thank you every single one of you who try his best to help.
    Cheers.

  • How to Add Access Platform in SQL Developer 3.2.20.09

    Though it was default in previous versions but I think it is not in this version. I have downloaded the latest copy of SQL Developer 3.2.20.09 from your site. While trying to migrate data from Access to Oracle using Migration Wizard (Tools>Migration>Migrate option) I am not getting any Access data in source database window. There are nothing under Available Source Platforms. Kindly let me know how to bring Access Platform in SQL Developer 3.2.20.09.

    Hi,
    Have you checked all the steps in the SQL*Developer documentation ?
    Review the relevant sections of -
    Oracle® SQL Developer User's Guide Release 3.2
    2.2.4.3 Before Migrating From Microsoft Access
    2.2.4.3.1 Creating Microsoft Access XML Files
    2.2.8.1.3 Creating Data Files From MySQL
    2.3 SQL Developer User Interface for Migration
    2.3.1 Migration Submenu
    Are you able to create a connection to an Access mdb file using the 'Connections' options ?
    See -
    5.21 Create/Edit/Select Database Connection
    and the information under -
    Access tab
    If you can make a connection to the Access mdb file then you should be able to make the migration also by followingthe steps detailed in the documentation.

  • How To version a Schema in SQL Developer?

    How To version a Schema in SQL Developer? Is there any open source tool for windows? I used a trial version of Source Control for Oracle by Red Gate. But i am looking for a free tool or way around? Like we do versioning in Jdeveloper?Any help in this regard would be much appreciated.

    SQL Developer supports e.g. Subversion out of the box.
    Open Sql Developer Help and search for "Versioning"
    Using Versioning
    SQL Developer provides integrated support for the Subversion and Git versioning and source control systems, and you can add support for other such systems as extensions by clicking Help, then Check for Updates. Available extensions include CVS (Concurrent Versions System) and Perforce.
    This is the part about support for versioning. The next step would be how you organize your workflow so every source is available in your repository.
    Maybe an online tutorial can help you: Using Source Code Control in Oracle SQL Developer 3.0

  • How to view sys_context value in SQL Developer?

    hello
    i can view the results via sqlplus with following statements:
    SELECT SYS_CONTEXT ('empno_ctx', 'empno_attrib') empno_attrib FROM DUAL;
    SELECT * FROM SESSION_CONTEXT;
    both retrieve correct values;
    now, since i work mainly in SQL Developer i wanted to view the results in there as well;
    i ran the procedure in SQL Developer via right-click on the procedure -> run;
    it looked like it ran ok;
    however when i do the above queries nothing is retrieved;
    any suggestions?
    thanks
    rgds

    Hi,
    You can use
    SELECT SYS_CONTEXT ('empno_ctx', 'empno_attrib') empno_attrib into <Variable Name> FROM DUAL;
    dbms_output.putline (<Variable Name>
    So after you execute the procedure. You will be able to see the value in output window.

  • How to Execute SQL Server stored procedure through SQL Developer?

  • Remote debugging with APEX and SQL Developer

    Hi,
    I have problems concerning breakpoints within my SQL Packages I want to debug.
    I want to force SQL-Developer to suspend execution of a function, so I can get forward step by step.
    The SQL-Developer do not stop executing at the breakpoints I set in the Package.
    The message I get is the following (on SQL-Developer side):
    Debugger accepted connection from remote process on port 4000.
    Processing 110 classes that have already been prepared...
    Finished processing prepared classes.
    Debugger disconnected from remote process.
    Seems to me, that the process runs into the debug-mode but leave without stopping at a given breakpoint??
    Do anybody have an idea how to solve it?
    We use Oracle 10.2.0.3.0, SQL Developer 1.5.1 and APEX 3.1.2.
    The Package-function I want to debug runs on another Oracle database as the APEX application.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

    Hi Carsten,
    now I have done a further step. I can debug a remote PL/SQL-Package through APEX, but now I get an exception when the program execution jumps back to the APEX PL/SQL-Package.
    My APEX-Page-Process looks like this:
    BEGIN
      dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp(host => 'IP-ADDRESS', port => '4201');
      APEX_TEST_PKG.remoteDebug;
      dbms_debug_jdwp.disconnect;
    END;The procedure APEX_TEST_PKG.remoteDebug looks like this (located on the APEX-DB):
    PROCEDURE startRemoteDebug
      AS
        v_string    VARCHAR2(50)   := '';
      BEGIN
        [email protected](host => 'IP-ADDRESS', port => '4000',
                 option_flags => dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_defer_suspension);
        v_string := [email protected];
        DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(v_string);
        [email protected];
      END remoteDebug; The procedure REMOTE_TEST_PKG.testFunc looks like this (located on the Remote-DB):
    FUNCTION testFunc RETURN VARCHAR2
      AS
        v_string    VARCHAR2(50)   := '';
      BEGIN
        v_string := 'Test';
      RETURN v_string;
    END testFunc; When I start the debug session without the option dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_defer_suspension, I get an exception Oracle.EXCEPTION_ORA_604.
    Starting the debug session with the above mentioned option, I am able to debug the remote function.
    But now I get an exception when the executor tries leaving the remote function going back to the invoking function. With the debugger I can step over the return-statment successfully and the debugger steps on the next line END testFunc;. On this line I get the exception above
    Exception breakpoint occurred at line -1 of PBREAK.pls.
    $Oracle.Builtin.EXCEPTION_USER:
    Exception breakpoint occurred at line -1 of PBREAK.pls.
    $Oracle.Builtin.EXCEPTION_USER: I tried another way where I get now exception and where I can step through my functions in APEX, descending to functions in the remote db and going back to APEX.
    For this case I put the debug-statements in remote function:
    FUNCTION testFunc RETURN VARCHAR2
      AS
        v_string    VARCHAR2(50)   := '';
      BEGIN
        dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp(host => 'IP-ADDRESS', port => '4000');
        v_string := 'Test';
        dbms_debug_jdwp.disconnect;
      RETURN v_string;
    END testFunc; But I have no idea why it doesn't work properly starting the remote debug session in the apex procedure.
    Regards
    Michael

  • How to debugging a procedure

    Hi,
    I have some 1000 lines of code in a procedure
    now i want to debug this procedure to find out where the error getting
    could any one help me how to debug the huge lines of procedure

    Hi,
    I usually opt for PL/SQL developer tool for debugging millions of line of code. Try to grant the privilege to user 'debug connect session'.
    Try to execute the procedure in step by step execution. Pass the run time variable input value to procedure and go on with debug procedure then you can watch how code is carrying out the changes.
