I've this problem.
In our application to control healthcare expense I've implemented a cube with 6 dimensions. (here for who knows Italian : http://www.oracle.com/global/it/customers/profiles/profile_77.html )
The biggest dimension is the "patient" one, with 1.500.000 units at 5th level, grouped in geographic aggregates, until the entire city at highest level.
Now customers wants to have the possibility to select patiens with chronic disease from these. There are about 500 kinds of chronic diseases.
Every patient can have no one, one, or (and this is the problem) more then one of these chronic disease.
How to try to implement this? as a new dimensions or as an attribute ?
I've thought that best way is to introduce a new (chronic diseases) dimension, to have a way to select one or more of these diseases at all levels of patient dimension.
I'm asking how to solve the problem that a single patien can also have more than one disease.
Is there any way to implement this ?

my target is to add the "ilnesses" selection to other ones. The most important cube of my applications analyze
healthcare expenses from six dimensions. Customer wants analyze cube "adding" a way to select only "ilnesses" patients and elvaluate their expense.
I'm in doubt becouse a patient can also have more then one ilness, so I can't simply add a "ilnesses" dimensions to the cube and mapping it to an "ilness_id" in the fact table.
How can the two dimensioned cube to help me in this ?

Have Different Radio Buttons for the purposes what you have and use AT Selection Screen Output, Under the event Use loop at screen and with continue with your requirement.

My requirement is to change the attribute of COl Y to DROP DOWN list depending on the value of
COL X dynamically.

Actually this requirement is to enhance the standard screen for Tcode :EHSVU21.
So depending on the 1st Column(Test no) value ,i have to change the 3rd Column(Low.norm.result)
property either to DROP Down or not.
So in the PBO only the changes to be made and there is no field in SCREEN internal table for changing the attribute to DROP down. I checked SCREEN internal table where the field VALUE_HELP and REQUEST is useful but not suitable for my case.

I need to use 1000 char in my idoc, so how to define this in my table

I am receiving a 1000 char from an external system. I should receive this through a separate segment in my idoc.But while creating a table with CHAR 1000, i am getting activation error.what could be the solution .idoc can transfer only CHAR data type. so i CANT use string.i tried using IDOCLINE data element. but for data type CHAR, only 255 length is allowed.

what error you are getting and what declaration you are doing , if you can share then some one can help you.
Basically there should not be any problem for declaring that.
Try this
data : Itab type table of IDOCLINE .
and this is not 255 chars it is 1000 chars long and will suit your req.

I only want to retrive the date, i.e. the first 8 offsets.
I've done something like:

1. The information what you enbale in the Genereal tab region will not stop you to purcahse the material.
Mark ur item as a Make item...Enable all relevant attributes...
Enable all the purcase options..
Then do your Sourcing rule and assignment,,,
you can produce as well as purchase..

How to define tablespaces in Oracle 10g and how put tables on tablespaces

I'm having trouble to define the structure of tablespaces and how to distribute the tables/indexes/lobs on these tablespaces.
Do you know some rules on how to define this?
What I have until now:
1) Put table indexes in separate tablespace
2) Put lobs in separate tablespace and use storage clause when defining the lob column. Not sure how many tablespaces to use, I have tables with millions of lobs and tables with just one lob (with row containing the lob).
3) Please fill more rules here ...

Long story: I received database and schema creation scripts defined in Oracle 9i. I want to redesign the tablespaces number/storage and also to change the distribution of tables into tablespaces.
As an example I will show how tablespaces are created now. There is one tablespace for indexes BLUE_AUTO_INDX and one for each EXTENT MANAGEMENT of:
- 64K for BLOB , name BLUE_K064_BLOB
- 64K for tables , name K064_NTAB
- 128K for tables, name BLUE_K128_NTAB
- 512K for CLOB , name BLUE_K512_CLOB
- 4M for BLOB , name BLUE_M004_BLOB
- 64M for CLOB , name BLUE_M064_CLOB

How to define an internal table which have to be dynamic

here's a problem that i have to solve (but how ?).
I defined an internal Table with 2 columns:
col1: tablename
col2: fieldname
This table is filled with an unknown number of datasets like this:
dataset1: A001 KAPPL
dataset2: A001 KNUMH
dataset3: A903 KUNNR and so on.
I don't know which tablenames and fieldnames are contained.
Now i have to read those fields (e.g. KAPPL) from those tables (e.g. A001) into an internal table.
But i don't know how to define this internal table.
Could anyone help me please ?

Now use <t_itab> as your internal table to fetch data .
<t_itab> will have the structure of A001.

Please advise on below Query:
while raising PO, if we select item in puchase order system automatically defaults material charge account from organization parameters.
my requirement is: I want to define charge account sepeartely for each category type ex: bags category one GL account and Computer category one account number, based on category of item account should be charged to respective account.
If I select respective category item system should automatically deafult respective charge account in purchase order.
please advise how to define this charge account cateogry wise and default in purchase order.
