How to delete the Oracle directory

I have uninstalled oracle 10g but the directory is still on C:\ . How do you get rid of this directory. I try to delete it and it says the file is in use. msvcr71.dll I used the oracle uninstaller and check the registry. I want to reinstall 10g, but it list a 1 and 2 database. I need to wipe this out HELP.....

I found these files are generated in the following operation;

I think they are kind of temp files so we will be able to delete them.

Why? As that may invalidate support since you configure/alter the deployment.
The location is specified in oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver.war, so you could go into the war file and alter it.

ADF Desktop Integration : How to delete the table in Excel?

Hi,
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.3.0 and Excel 2007 for Oracle ADF DI, I had created an ADF table using pageDef file in the excel. Now I wanted to delete that table and use a different pageDef file.
I could not find a way to delete that table.
I deleted full row of tables and then I used different pageDef file and created a new adf table. But when I am running this version of excel, I am getting runtime exception and excel is getting corrupted.
My question how to delete the table not corrupting the Excel.

You can delete the table by selecting the top left column (of the table) and then select delete from the ADFdi tab.

Use the form of exec that takes an array of command + args.

arr[1] = "-f"

Oracle supports different structures for data and indexes. A table can be a hash table or index organised table. It can have B+tree index. It can have bitmap indexes. It can be partitioned. Etc.
How the table implements its structure is a physical design consideration.
Application code should only deal with the logical data structure. How that data structure is physically implemented has no bearing on application. Does your application need to know what the indexes are and the names of the indexes,in order to use a table? Obviously not. So why then does your application need to know that the table is partitioned?
When your application code starts referring directly to physical partitions, it needs to know HOW the table is partitioned. It needs to know WHAT partitions to use. It needs to know the names of the partitions. Etc.
And why? All this means is increased complexity in application code as this code now needs to know and understand the physical data structure. This app code is now more complex, has more moving parts, will have more bugs, and will be more complex to maintain.
Oracle can take an app SQL and it can determine (based on the predicates of the SQL), which partitions to use and not use for executing that SQL. All done totally transparently. The app does not need to know that the table is even partitioned.
This is a crucial concept to understand and get right.

How to delete a whole directory in Contribute CS3

Here is my problem :
I've created a new page (html) in my site. This page contains
some pictures.
When I publish this new page, I choose a new directory to
save it : "NewDirectory" for example.
When I visit this new directory, I can see that Contribute
creates an "images" directory and I can see my new html page.
So, now I want to delete my (new) page. I know how to do
that. But my problem is : how to delete the images.
I can do delete them one by one but If I have a lot of image,
it will be very long.
Now my question : how can I delete a whole directory in
contribute without having the following message:
"CONTRIBUTE CAN'T DELETE THIS DIRECTORY. VERIFY DIRECTORY IS
EMPTY" or something like that...

Download FileZilla(free) and use FTP to delete the folder and
its contents. Its not possible doing this using Contribute, even
with 'Delete' permissions, you can only delete individual files
that you're allowed to edit. I haven't found any admin-settings
that allow you to delete folders with content (alas).

My archivelog files are not deleted on standby.
I have set the CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO NONE; # default on the Primary server.
I've checked the archivelogs with the FRA and they are not beign deleted on the STANDBY. Do I have to do something for the configuation to take effect? Like run a RMAN backup?

Setting the Policy will not delete the Archive logs on the Standby. ( I found a thread where the Data Guard product manager says "The deletion policy on both sides will do what you want" ). However I still
like to clean them off with RMAN.
I would use RMAN to delete them so that it can use that Policy are you are protected in case of Gap, transport issue etc.
There are many ways to do this. You can simply run RMAN and have it clean out the Archive.
Example :

Not sure if there is an automated way to do this, but I get around it by just searching on (2), (3), (4).
Not practical for large installs, but it works in our small environment.
You might be able to use the Smart Sort utility to find files that have () characters in them? Not positive though.
It would make a great enhancement request to add dupes to either a log file or better yet an admin utility to track the living documents to ensure they are fixed!
(I'm going to file such an enhancement right now!)

Problem opening reports with a user in the Oracle Directory.

I have already followed all the steps in the user's guide to run reports with a user in the Oracle Directory.
I accessed the enterprise security manager and created the mandatory xml publisher roles, besides I created another role. I added user A to the new role I created.
I accessed then the administrator tab in XML publisher. I went to roles and the role I created was there. When I tried to add a folder. I'm able to add the folder there. I click on apply and then when I enter in the security Settings again the folder is not there anymore.
I get the following error in the log:
[021207_103218621][][EXCEPTION] oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.resources.ResourceNotFoundException: /opt/oracle/infra2/j2ee/home/xmlpublisher
/Admin/Security/security.xml
When I access xml publisher with the user A, who belongs to the new role I'm working with, I'm not able to see any folder, nor anything else.
Do you have any ideas about what could be going wrong?

-Access AIAConfigurationProperties.xml located in <AIA_HOME>/aia_instances/$INSTANCE_NAME/AIAMetaData/config.
-Set the EH.INVOKE.HWF property value to true.
-Reload updates to the AIAConfigurationProperties.xml file."
However upon searching for the file "AIAConfigurationProperties.xml" or even the directory "aia_instances" in our servers, I could not find them. Please help me!

If you are talking about 11g Worklist app, then you won't be able to do that, since the source code is not shipped with the product. The better way is to create the custom worklist application using the Worklist APIs. Refer to the SOA Developers Guide.
In case of 10g, you can access the source code of Worklist app, even in that case, you can do your requirement using the exposed APIs.

From the 9.3.1 docs:
"If you do not want to use a configured user directory that was used for provisioning, remove it from the search order so that the user directory is not searched for users and groups. This action maintains the integrity of provisioning information. It also enables you to use the user directory at a later time, if needed."
