How to deploy External library DC

Currently I'm using NWDS 7.0.10.
I'd like to deploy external library DC.(pls see attached
for the details of errors)
I can find the way to build external library DC in context tab of NWDS, but
no way to deploy it in context tab of NWDS.
How can I deploy it on server?
Pls let us know how to do that.

  • How to use external library in EAR deployed onto J2EE engine

For certain reasons some classes in .jar file in operation system level should be used in the EAR project I've deployed onto J2EE Engine.
Can some one tell me what steps I should perform to acheive this?

    hey there,
Think im already late for this... but it may be useful to someone who reads this forum later.
I am struggling with exactly the same problem for the past more than 24
odd hours now. The sad part - Im sure I have seen this being done in a
matter of a few minutes when my team mate had an older version on NWDS.
(I am currently using SP16 NWDS). May be this indeed is a bug that SAP
needs to fix in its SP16 NWDS release.
I need to use the HSSF POI libraries for my webdynpro components and
have been trying ALL possible options given out here on SDN. To mention a
    few, I have tried -
    1) Jarrod's method of making a Java DC and then declaring a usage
dependency for it inside a J2EE Server (library) DC. It didnt work... it
gave me a warning that an illegal reference has been made to the runtime
public part. And the final SDA file generated in the J2EE server
component DC DIDNOT contain the jar files that I had added to the public part
of the Java DC. On investigating further, I found that there were NO
entities present in BOTH the public parts of the Java DC, even though the
folder actually contained all the required .jar files.
    2) Creating an External Library DC, adding the JAR files to the
'libraries' folder. Creating two public parts, one for assembly and the second
for compilation. Then adding this DC as a 'Used DC' into a J2EE Server
(library) DC. Yet, the .sda file that is created on building the J2ee
Server (library) DC DOESNOT contain the JAR files.
    3) Creating an external library DC, adding the JAR files to the
'libraries' folder. Creating two public parts, one for assembly and the second
for compilation. Then adding this DC as a 'Used  DC' into a webdynpro
DC. On building this webdynpro DC, the .ear file DOESNOT contain the JAR
    files.
    4) Directly adding the JAR files to my own webdynpro component in the
'src/packages' folder. This didnt work because on rebuilding the
project, the JAR files get deleted on their own.
    5) Renaming my .JAR files to .ZIP, extracting the entire package
structure into folders, copy pasting this entire folder structure along with
its .class files into the src/packages folder. On rebuilding, the NWDS
deletes these folders and files on its own / behaves erratically. Also
copy pasted these .class files along with the proper package structure
into the '/bin' directory of my webdynpro application, but it still
    didnt work.
The only thing that I have to try yet is to shift to SP10 of NWDS,
build this external library project and get the required JAR files put on
the wendynpro server. After that I might choose to get back onto the
SP16 version and hopefully continue productive work... !

    Navneet.

  • Help!! I Can not deploy external library to the J2EE Engine!

I'm trying to create a J2EE Library DC that contains a few jar files that I want to deploy to the J2EE server for usage by a set of test classes.
I created an external library DC, imported a jar file into the libraries folder, and added the jar file to a public part that has selected option "provides an API for Developing/compiling". I then built the DC Successfully.
Then I created a J2EE Library DC, and added the external library DC as a used DC, with a build and run time dependancy, and I created an entity reference to the external library DC's public part.
When I build the J2EE Library DC, the jar file are not included in the SDA file. Nothing I've tried can get the jar file to be placed in the SDA file for deployment.
Why is the jar file not in the SDA? What am I doing wrong? I've spent the last while reading everything I can find on SDN about j2EE Library DCs, and it seems that I'm doing everything correctly - or am I?
I'm running 7.00 SP9 . Can someone verify that a) my procedure above is correct, and b) that this does work under 7.00 SP9 ?

    a) the runtime dependency from the J2EE library to the external library is not necessary and will be ignored during build. There may be a warning in the build log about incompatible runtime-types, but I'm not sure if that warning exists in SP9.
    b) see Pascals latest answer regarding a patch for this issue.

    Hi,
    Thanks, I have solved issue.
We can add on following path in windows pc:
    C:\Users\your_usename\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system12.1.3.0.41.140521.1008\DefaultDomain\lib
One you add your external lib here then do restart weblogic server instance.
Now, you have that external lib or jar in use.
    Cool!

    Hi,
My jar files consists only java classes and a manifest.mf. The files are compiled using jdk 1.4.2-b28.  Will this be any issue?
It seems that if I ignore the error and continue step 7 which is to do deployment of the ear, the error given is
    Cannot update it.

  • Using External Library in Mobile Web Dynpro Offline

    Hi all,
i would like to use a jar in a Mobile Application for Handheld and i followed the steps from the wiki "Using External Library in Mobile Web Dynpro Offline" at
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/usingExternalLibraryinMobileWebDynpro+Offline
    >How to use External Library in Mobile Web Dynpro Offline
    >For using external jar in local deployment scenario, one can do following:
    >1. In the dc where jar has to be used, add the jar as external jar classpath entry. It can be done via <dc> > (Right-click)> properties->Java Build Path->Select "add external jar".
    >2. Do the programming using the jar.
    >3. Shut down the mobile client.
    >4. Copy the jar in the "lib" folder of mobile client installation.
    >5. Deploy the application in the IDE.
    >6. Run the application.
    >In 5, the jar will not deployed and will be picked from the lib folder during 6.
    >...
    >Note: This will work on and after SAP Net Weaver CE 7.1 SR3 with Mobile plugins from CE 7.1 SR3 (and after).
i get a error at the deployment with the message "...package myres does not exist...":

    Hi,
    1) in Development Infrastructure Perspective -> rightklick in Navigator/Projekt Explorer  -> new Project  -> (Development Infrastructure)  Development Component (DC).
NWDS generates Project Ressources e.g. the folder "libraries"
    2) copy the jars to the "libraries" folder.
    3) rightklick on the newly created Development Component (DC) ->  Development Component -> Show In ->  Development Properties -> go to the Tab "Public Parts",
in -> "Defined Public Parts" -> klick on Button "Add" -> give a name for "Public Part" -> at "Purpose" select "Compilation" -> Finish.
rightklick on the newly created Public Parts -> select  "Manage Entities" and select the jars you want to use -> Next -> Finish.
    4) switch to the Mobile Apps for Handhelds Perspective ->  in Development Component  select e.g. the Service Component or the UI Component ->
rightklick ->  Development Component -> Show In ->  Development Properties -> got to Tab "Dependencies" -> klick on Button "Add"  -> under the Node MyComponents -> select the newly created Development Component with the Public Parts/jars (that was created in 1 - 3).
thats all, now you can deploy your application

  • Problem with external library DC

    Hi,
I am working on NWDS Version: 7.02.06.
I am trying to use JXL jars in my DC and have used the blog /people/bertram.ganz/blog/2008/11/24/how-to-use-external-jar-files-in-web-dynpro-development-components to achieve this.
My problem comes at the last step. When I add the Library refernce in my WD DC, i give sap.com~hkjecomp. Sap.com is my vendor and hkjecomp is the JEE (Library type DC) wrapping the External lib DC.
When I deploy the WD DC, it deployed with warnings and a cluster wide exception :

    Hi,
I think first you need to wrap it into an EAR file, then you can deploy it.
As far as I know standalone deployment of WAR is deprecated as of 640.

You may need to convert the .war archive to SDA/SCA file  format before deploying it to SAP Netweaver Engine.
Check out the below SAP NOTE if it is usefull.
Note 1223957 - Usage of NetWeaver Packaging Tool.
Apart from SDM you can also deploy the files through telnet...
Note 859444 - How to deploy libraries on J2EE Engine 6.40
    1)Connect to telnet as below
    Start --> Run
    telnet hostname/ip address portno
    Ex: telnet xxx.xx.xx.x 5<Instance no>08
    2)Login with administrator id:
Use the below command to deploy the files.
    deploy <directory path to the SDAs location> version_rule=all on_prerequisite_error=stop on_deploy_error=stop
    Example: deploy E:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\VCBASE03_0-10006939.SCA version_rule=all on_prerequisite_error=stop on_deploy_error=stop.
Also have a look at this note which talks about the error you are getting.
    Note 1171457 - IllFormattedSduManifest/SduFileException during deployment
    Hope it helps.

  • Call external library on Linux RT cRio

    Hello,
I'm building a robot and plan to interface the cRio 9033 with the sensors & actuators.
The builder of the motors provides Windows and Linux libraries for Labview, that allow driving the motors through a simple USB connexion.
I have successfully tested the motor driving on Windows, by connecting the USB directly on my computer.
The provided library is actually a wrapper around a .dll, with hard-coded library path (inside instr.lib). All the VI's are regrouped inside a .llb file.
When trying to connect the motors to my cRio, I cannot understand how to deploy the library :
    - the Windows .dll and Linux .so have different names, though the headers are similar
    - as said before, the VI's that are used explicitely call the .dll. I have re-wrapped the library to change .dll to .*, but I am not sure whether I should rename the .so.
In short, I am wondering how to use the same Labview VI including a call library, both on the Windows host machine (testing) and on the Linux target device (deployment).

  • How to use a jar from a external library DC Project?

I followed the steps of how to create DC, External Library Project, which contains the jar I want.
I understood that this type of project can't be deployed so I build and deployed other DC Project from the type J2EE server component Library and added it to it's public part. What do I do next, to actually use the jar and it's imports?

  • How to reference an External Library (Server Side) in a DC-EJB Module ?

    Hi:
I start working with hibernate in a DC component, so I create my DC project and EJB module inside. I Make an external library following this
Thanks a lot for your time on this thread.
    Rocío.

    Hi Rocío!
Umm, I don't usually use DC's... I don't know if this will work... you can make an EAR (New Proyect -> J2EE -> Enterpise Application Module), add your EJB Module to the EAR (right click on EJB Project and choose Add to EAR proyect), and you'll find a j2ee-engine file on it, and you can add the reference there. Then deploy the EAR.
I normally do something similar to your issue, I make a EJB calling XI via Java Proxys, and the reference to the XI libs are allocated on the EAR, not on the EJB. This is only for runtime, for compilation you must reference the hibernate jar with an external jar file, as always.
A dirty solution could be this one: open your generated EAR with de-compressor, and copy your hibernate jar on it (at root). This way you'll load hibernate classes at runtime (I know this is an horrible solution, this is only for testing).
As I said before, I'm not used to DCs, so this could be wrong, and be a waste of time... I don't know further...
      Good luck
      Eneko.

  • How to get itunes library from external drive to new computer

i recently purchased a new computer w/the windows vista platform. there were posts regarding how to transfer the library w/playlists on this board, which i followed to the point of hitting shift while opening itunes, and choosing a library. however, when selecting such from my external drive, which has the itl and xml on it as well as the itunes music folder, it gives me an error noting it is locked or that i dont have write permission to use it. my external drive on my old computer was the G drive, now it is the F drive on new one. can anyone please advise what to do other than copy all music over and have to completely recreate all playlists?

polydorus, this was the response/post that i found and it was posted by sweepea on 9/4/2007. and all my music is now from the external drive to the itunes music folder on my laptop and it let me keep all my playlists. thank you again for your help!
I had that problem too. I tried to remove iTunes from my computer and then download it again, but that did not make any difference. Then I tried polydorus' answer ("starting iTunes with the shift key held down, when asked to choose a library, navigate to your iTunes folder and choose iTunes Library.itl"), but that did not work either and that same message about the library being locked appeared again.
Then I had a brainwave. I deleted that iTunes library.itl file. (To find it, go to My documents, then My Music, then iTunes, and there is the itunes library file). I now tried to open iTunes by clicking on the iTunes icon on my desktop, nothing happened, as if I had not clicked on it at all. I restored the file from the recycling bin to where it was before. But that also returned me to where I had been before, i.e. I got that locked-library message again. So I deleted that file again. Then I tried right-clicking on the iTunes icon. On the little menu that appeared, I clicked 'Open' and hey presto, suddenly the iTunes set-up assistant appeared and everything went smooth from then on. When I checked, there was a file called iTunes library.itl again and this one worked OK.
By the way, I did not lose any of my music downloads or podcasts when I deleted that file, so it's definitely worth a try.
