    3.i m created war file(in the form of jsp)

    You must create :
    1.Jar file
    2.War file
    And then put them into an ear file
    Exemple : myapp.ear contains
    myappEJB.jar
    myappWEB.war
    META-INF/application.xml
    and application.xml looks like this :
    <application xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" version="1.4"
        xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
        xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com /xml/ns/j2ee
                            http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/application_1_4.xsd">
        <display-name>myapp</display-name>
        <description>Demo application</description>
        <module>
            <ejb>myappEJB.jar</ejb>

  • Urgent :- Unable to deploy EAR file in Oracle application server

    Hello folks,
    I am trying to deploy an application containing jsps and servlets
    packaged into EAR using ant. However when am trying to do so by using
    the Deploy EAR option in the Enterprise manager, it throws the
    following error -
    "Invalid J2EE application file specified - Jar file:
    /var/tmp/jar47241.tmp is missing its standard xml descriptor located at
    META-INF/ejb-jar.xml"
    I suspect that something could be wrong with regards to the way the ear
    file has been created.
    Please if someone could pin point the problem and help me understand
    the the above error message , it will be of great help to me and I d
    really appreciate this.
    Many Thanks,

  • How  to deploy on different OC4J than "home" on Application Server

    Hi
    I've a JSP/Struts Application which runs well in JDeveloper and runs well if deployed to the "home" instance of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3. However, we want to deploy this Application to a separated OC4J (keeping different Applications separated). So I'm trying to create a second OC4J instance in Application Server in order to deploy my application. This seems to be quite complicated !
    Can anyone point me to some information on how to create a new OC4J Instance in Oracle AS 10g with all necessary BC4J- and ADF-Libraries in order to deploy an application?
    Thanks

    pls use the em website to create the new oc4j stance,you can access em by http://yourashost:1810
    then ,you may deploy the project to a ear file and deploy it on new oc4j stance in em website.
    maybe i do not make me understood,::)

    hi
    i got some 30 txt files on java application server. i have two questions
    1) can java guys will be able to move those files to some oracle directory that will be used by create external table command.
    2) can oracle do that using a stored procedure ..but then for it i think i have to create ftppkg and ftpbdy and call and connect each time...
    which one is better and why?
    regards

    Hi,
    You can create procedure to move file from application server to oracle server.
    Code for list all files in directory
    ops$tkyte@8i> GRANT JAVAUSERPRIV to ops$tkyte
      2  /
    Grant succeeded.
    That grant must be given to the owner of the procedure..  Allows them to read
    directories.
    ops$tkyte@8i> create global temporary table DIR_LIST
      2  ( filename varchar2(255) )
      3  on commit delete rows
      4  /
    Table created.
    ops$tkyte@8i> create or replace
      2     and compile java source named "DirList"
      3  as
      4  import java.io.*;
      5  import java.sql.*;
      6
      7  public class DirList
      8  {
      9  public static void getList(String directory)
    10                     throws SQLException
    11  {
    12      File path = new File( directory );
    13      String[] list = path.list();
    14      String element;
    15
    16      for(int i = 0; i < list.length; i++)
    17      {
    18          element = list;
    19 #sql { INSERT INTO DIR_LIST (FILENAME)
    20 VALUES (:element) };
    21 }
    22 }
    23
    24 }
    25 /
    Java created.
    ops$tkyte@8i>
    ops$tkyte@8i> create or replace
    2 procedure get_dir_list( p_directory in varchar2 )
    3 as language java
    4 name 'DirList.getList( java.lang.String )';
    5 /
    Procedure created.
    ops$tkyte@8i>
    ops$tkyte@8i> exec get_dir_list( '/tmp' );
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

  • How to split path and filename (file is on application server)

    Searching this forum I found a couple of FM's that apparently only worked for PC files.  Is there a parser function for files w/ the Unix naming convention?

    You could parse it yourself...
    DATA: filepath TYPE char255 VALUE '/usr/<sys_id>/sap/tmp/filename.txt'.
    DATA: path TYPE char255.
    DATA: file TYPE char255.
    DEFINE macro_reverse_string.
      call function 'STRING_REVERSE'
        exporting
          string  = &1
          lang    = sy-langu
        importing
          rstring = &1.
    END-OF-DEFINITION.
    macro_reverse_string filepath.
    SPLIT filepath AT '/' INTO file path.

  • How to deploy OHW onto Oralce Application Server?

    I down load the demo-bundle.
    It is set in c:\ohw\. I startup the OC4J from c:\ohw\bin. And the help system can be launched from URL http://localhost:8888/.
    Also I modify the Oracle Application (in Jdeveloper 10g1.3.2.0) to make it work with the helpset in demo-bundle.
    I follow the instructions in "Deploying OHW Using the Unconfigured Bundle" to create a ear file which contrains a WAR file (it has helpsets directory, (and files), ohwconfig.xml file, the cabo directory, and the WEB-INF directory.
    Then I caret a zip file which has application.xml file and META-INF file and the WAR file. Then rename it a ear file.
    After all, I intend to deploy the ear file to Oracle Application Server.
    It fails with message:
    Failed in uploading archive. Invalid archive file: Unsupported archive type. unknown
    1. Where is the right location in Oralce Application Server for servlet container ?
    2. What is the right way to deploy a helpset onto Oralce Application Server?
    Thanks

    Same as you would deploy any .NET application. There are two ways to do this:
    1 - Simple copy files to win2003 server and create virtual directory (if you copy to default location just create IIS application using inetmgr)
    2 - create deployment project that will generate setup for you. execute setup on win2003 server and follow the steps.

    Can you please try again with the OHW 2.0 production
    demo bundle? Please let us know if the problem
    reoccurs.OHW 2.0 production also cannot be deployed to AS 9.0.2 because of the same error. But it works well with 10g.

  • How to create a .ear file from my application ?

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 10g.I made an application called Myapp .Kindly guide me how I will make a .ear file of the application for deployment purpose.

    User,
    Right-click your project, choose "New" then deployment profile. You should see "EAR" as a choice. Then, just follow the wizards. When you want to create the EAR, just right-click your newly-created deployment profile and select the EAR option.

  • Deploying war OR ear file in 10.1.3 standalone OC4J

    I've read the several threads on how to deploy a war file and/or ear file for OC4J but haven't seen anyone having the same issue I'm having.
    I've tried deploying manually, from the command line using admin.jar, as well as the enterprise manager. It appears that when OC4J is looking for a jar file containing EJB's. But my app has none and there is no jar file that it finds.
    Here is what the console reports when I try to deploy using admin.jar ->
    http://www.gordongridley.us/2007/02/oc4j-console-when-trying-to-deploy.html
    OK - so I try to deploy using the Enterprise Manager instead to see if the UI has some options that I can change for not forcing an EJB jar file lookup. Here is a video of what I did ->
    http://www.gordongridley.us/2007/02/attempting-to-deploy-war-using-oc4j.html
    Do I really need to have a jar file with EJB's to deploy a WAR/EAR file?

    Hi Gordon,
    The source of your ills is this entry in the application.xml descriptor:
    <module>
    <ejb>TomaxCMAdmin.jar</ejb>
    </module>
    Remove that, and you should be good to go (assuming you aren't referencing any other non-existent JARs).
    Thanks

    Hi Timo

  • Deploy war or ear file to Websphere Server

    Anyone knows how to deploy .war file to Websphere Application Server after building the completed JSF web application from Creator tool? Or how to deploy the application developed in Creator to other servers such IBM Websphere, JBoss ...etc.
    By theory, to put on server, any web ear files can be dropped into web contents directory of each server. In my case, I put war file on IBM Websphere 5.1, but it did not work.
    Thanks in advance.
    VTT_

    Did you use the export war facility on your project in the project navigator? this should work fine.
    Note you will need to create your datasources etc using hte admin tools for the server of your choice.
    There may also be some library requirements for JSF that your server doesn't have - I know this is true for tomcat, for example... see
