Start by generating some pages using the Wizards for
Master/Detail
pages, Insert page, etc. with your database. Then switch to
Code View to
see the code that is generated. That's how I learned it :)
Hope this helps,

    hi
    How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
    Solution
    Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
    here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
    Note: Oracle_Home is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
    Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
    Oracle_Home with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
    copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
    1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
    and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
    2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
    C:\webutile is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
    cd C:\webutile
    copy jacob.jar Oracle_Home\forms\java\.
    copy jacob.dll Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\.
    The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
    3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
    Open a DOS command prompt.
    Add Oracle_Home\jdk\bin to the PATH:
    set PATH=Oracle_Home\jdk\bin;%PATH%
    Sign the files, and check the output for success:
    Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\sign_webutil Oracle_Home\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
    Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\sign_webutil Oracle_Home\forms\java\jacob.jar
    4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
    you may skip this step. Otherwise,
    Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
    connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
    for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
    Open Oracle_Home\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
    out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
    errors.
    Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
    CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
    GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
    CONNECT webutil/webutil@rcci
    @Oracle_Home\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
    -- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
    Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
    grant execute on webutil_db to public;
    5) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\default.env, and append Oracle_Home\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
    to the CLASSPATH entry.
    6) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\formsweb.cfg insde [default] add :
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
    archive=frmall.jar
    also add :
    [webutil]
    WebUtilLogging=off
    WebUtilLoggingDetail=normal
    WebUtilErrorMode=Alert
    WebUtilDispatchMonitorInterval=5
    WebUtilTrustInternal=true
    WebUtilMaxTransferSize=16384
    baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
    baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
    baseHTML=webutilbase.htm
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar
    WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar,f90all.jar
    archive=frmwebutil.jar,f90all.jar
    lookAndFeel=oracle
    7) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\webutil.cfg and add :
    transfer.database.enabled=TRUE
    transfer.appsrv.enabled=TRUE
    8) Start the OC4J instance
    9) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
    Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
    It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in Note 303682.1
    If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
    full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
    10) Create a new FMB.
    Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
    There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
    Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
    Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
    NULL;
    to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
    Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
    show_webutil_information (TRUE);
    in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
    Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
    11) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
    the "Application Server URL" is empty.
    Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
    http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
    12) Run your form.

    I am trying to retrieve the element I added to my UI in a different  function. I am using actionscript 3. • How to Identify database sessions used by forms sso user sessions?

    Hi:
    When using forms with SSO, all database sessions are opened by the same OSUSER (usually oracle), from the same machine (usually the forms server) and by the same program (usually [email protected] [TNS V1-V3]).
    I need a way to identify the database session (v$session) that is beeing used by a specific SSO user. By using SSO, we say implicitly that all users using that SSO resource will be connect to the database by a specific database user.
    So, what can I do to identify the database session that a specific forms user is using ?
    Thanks
    Joao Oliveira

    You could try something like the following in a when new form instance trigger:
    declare
    authenticated_username varchar2(30);
    begin
    authenticated_username := get_application_property(`sso_userid');
    DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO.SET_CLIENT_INFO (
    client_info IN VARCHAR2);
    end;
    This will store the sso userid in the client_info field of v$session.
    I hope this works for you.

    may be you are looking for
    select * from tab1,tab2

  • How to insert database elements?

    Hi all,
    could you please tell me .. how to add insert command in our abap program to insert the database elements?  and also we want to know whether we can add the same insert statement we are using on the oracle.we tried with that command but it cause some problem.
    INSERT INTO ZJEYC1 VALUES (' & CUSTNO ' , ' & CUSTNAME & ' , ' & CUSTADDRESS & ' , ' & CUSTMOB & ').
    is it correct?...
    if no please send me the code...

    INSERT - Insert in a database table
    Variants
    1. INSERT INTO dbtab VALUES wa. or
    INSERT INTO (dbtabname) VALUES wa.
    2. INSERT dbtab. or
    INSERT *dbtab. or
    INSERT (dbtabname) ...
    3. INSERT dbtab FROM TABLE itab. or
    INSERT (dbtabname) FROM TABLE itab.
    Effect
    Inserts new lines in a database table .
    You can specify the name of the database table either in the program itself in the form dbtab or at runtime as the contents of the field dbtabname . In both cases, the database table must be defined in the ABAP/4 Dictionary . If the program contains the name of the database table, it must also include a corresponding TABLES statement. Normally, lines are inserted only in the current client. Data can only be inserted using a view if the view refers to a single table and was defined in the ABAP/4 Dictionary with the maintenance status "No restriction".
    INSERT belongs to the Open SQL command set.
    Notes
    You cannot insert a line if a line with the same primary key already exists or if a UNIQUE index already has a line with identical key field values.
    When inserting lines using a view , all fields of the database table that are not in the view are set to their initial value (see TABLES ) - if they were defined with NOT NULL in the ABAP/4 Dictionary . Otherwise they are set to NULL .
    Since the INSERT statement does not perform authorization checks , you must program these yourself.
    Lines specified in the INSERT command are not actually added to the database table until after the next ROLLBACK WORK . Lines added within a transaction remain locked until the transaction has finished. The end of a transaction is either a COMMIT WORK , where all database changes performed within the transaction are made irrevocable, or a ROLLBACK WORK , which cancels all database changes performed within the transaction.
    Variant 1
    INSERT INTO dbtab VALUES wa. or
    INSERT INTO (dbtabname) VALUES wa.
    Addition
    ... CLIENT SPECIFIED
    Effect
    Inserts one line into a database table.
    The line to be inserted is taken from the work area wa and the data read from left to right according to the structure of the table work area dbtab (see TABLES ). Here, the structure of wa is not taken into account. For this reason, the work area wa must be at least as wide (see DATA ) as the table work area dbtab and the alignment of the work area wa must correspond to the alignment of the table work area. Otherwise, a runtime error occurs.
    When the command has been executed, the system field SY-DBCNT contains the number of inserted lines (0 or 1).
    The return code value is set as follows:
    SY-SUBRC = 0 Line was successfully inserted.
    SY_SUBRC = 4 Line could not be inserted since a line with the same key already exists.
    Example
    Insert the customer Robinson in the current client:
        TABLES SCUSTOM.
        SCUSTOM-ID        = '12400177'.
        SCUSTOM-NAME      = 'Robinson'.
        SCUSTOM-POSTCODE  = '69542'.
        SCUSTOM-CITY      = 'Heidelberg'.
        SCUSTOM-CUSTTYPE  = 'P'.
        SCUSTOM-DISCOUNT  = '003'.
        SCUSTOM-TELEPHONE = '06201/44889'.
        INSERT INTO SCUSTOM VALUES SCUSTOM.
    Addition
    ... CLIENT SPECIFIED
    Effect
    Switches off automatic client handling. This allows you to insert data across all clients even when dealing with client-specific tables. The client field is then treated like a normal table field which you can program to accept values in the work area wa that contains the line to be inserted.
    The addition CLIENT SPECIFIED must be specified immediately after the name of the database table.
    Example
    Insert the customer Robinson in client 2:
        TABLES SCUSTOM.
        SCUSTOM-MANDT     = '002'.
        SCUSTOM-ID        = '12400177'.
        SCUSTOM-NAME      = 'Robinson'.
        SCUSTOM-POSTCODE  = '69542'.
        SCUSTOM-CITY      = 'Heidelberg'.
        SCUSTOM-CUSTTYPE  = 'P'.
        SCUSTOM-DISCOUNT  = '003'.
        SCUSTOM-TELEPHONE = '06201/44889'.
        INSERT INTO SCUSTOM CLIENT SPECIFIED VALUES SCUSTOM.
    Variant 2
    INSERT dbtab. or
    INSERT *dbtab. or
    INSERT (dbtabname) ...
    Additions
    1. ... FROM wa
    2. ... CLIENT SPECIFIED
    Effect
    These are the SAP -specific short forms for the statements explained under variant 1.
    INSERT INTO dbtab VALUES dbtab. or
    INSERT INTO dbtab VALUES *dbtab. or
    INSERT INTO (dbtabname) VALUES wa.
    When the command has been executed, the system field SY-DBCNT contains the number of inserted lines (0 or 1).
    The return code value is set as follows:
    SY-SUBRC = 0 Line successfully inserted.
    SY_SUBRC = 4 Line could not be inserted, since a line with the same key already exists.
    Example
    Add a line to a database table:
        TABLES SAIRPORT.
        SAIRPORT-ID   = 'NEW'.
        SAIRPORT-NAME = 'NEWPORT APT'.
        INSERT SAIRPORT.
    Addition 1
    ... FROM wa
    Effect
    The values for the line to be inserted are not taken from the table work area dbtab , but from the explicitly specified work area wa . The work area wa must also satisfy the conditions described in variant 1. As with this variant, the addition allows you to specify the name of the database table directly or indirectly.
    Note
    If a work area is not explicitly specified, the values for the line to be inserted are taken from the table work area dbtab if the statement is in a FORM or FUNCTION where the table work area is stored in a formal parameter or local variable of the same name.
    Addition 2
    ... CLIENT SPECIFIED
    Effect
    As for variant 1.
    Variant 3
    INSERT dbtab FROM TABLE itab. or
    INSERT (dbtabname) FROM TABLE itab.
    Additions
    ... CLIENT SPECIFIED
    ... ACCEPTING DUPLICATE KEYS
    Effect
    Mass insert: Inserzts all lines of the internal table itab in a single operation. The lines of itab must satisfy the same conditions as the work area wa in variant 1.
    When the command has been executed, the system field SY-DBCNT contains the number of inserted lines.
    The return code value is set as follows:
    SY-SUBRC = 0 All lines successfully inserted. Any other result causes a runtime error .
    Note
    If the internal table itab is empty, SY-SUBRC and SY-DBCNT are set to 0 after the call.
    Addition 1
    ... CLIENT SPECIFIED
    Effect
    As for variant 1.
    Addition 2
    ... ACCEPTING DUPLICATE KEYS
    Effect
    If a line cannot be inserted, the processing does not terminate with a runtime error, but the return code value of SY-SUBRC is merely set to 4. All the remaining lines are inserted when the command is executed.

  • How do I pass a username form variable from a drop down list/menu to another page?

    Hi,
    I have a login_success.php page that has a drop down list/menu (which lists usernames). I want the user to click on their user name, and when they click the submit button the username information to be passed over to the username.php page which will contain a recordset, sorted by username.
    How do I pass the username info from the drop down list/menu to the username.php page?
    The drop down menu is connected to a recordset listUsername, I have filtered the recordset with the Form Variable = username, and I have used the POST method to send the username to the page username.php. I'm not sure how to structure the php or which page to place it on.
    <form id="form1" name="form1 method="post" action="username.php">
         <label for="username_id">choose username:</label>
         <select name="username_id" id-"username_id">
              <option value="1">username1</option>
              <option value="2">username2</option>
              <option value="3">username3</option>
              <option value="4">username4</option>
         </select>
         <input type="submit" name="send" id="send" value="Submit" />
         <input type="username" type="hidden" id="username" value="<?php echo $row_listUsername['username']; ?>" />
    </form>
    Could somebody help me please?
    Thanks.

    I would not post the variable over, In this case I personally would send it through the URL and use the $_GET method to retreve it. For Example.
    <html>
         <head>
              <title>Test Page</title>
              <script type="text/javascript">
                   function userID(){
                        //var ID = form1.userIDs.selectedIndex;
                        var user = form1.userIDs.options[form1.userIDs.selectedIndex].value;
                        window.location = "test.html?userID=" + user;
              </script>
         </head>
         <body>
              <form id="form1">
                   <select name="userIDs" id="userIDs" onchange="userID();">
                        <option>Select a User</option>
                        <option value="1">User 1</option>
                        <option value="2">User 2</option>
                        <option value="3">User 3</option>
                        <option value="4">User 4</option>
                   </select>
              </form>
         </body>
    </html>
    //PAGE TO RETRIEVE THE USERNAME
    <?php
    if(isset($_GET['userID'])
         $userID = $_GET['userID'];
         echo $userID;
         die;

  • How do I  generate XML using internal variables in a procedure

    I know there is a way to generate XML inside a procedure by querying the database such as
    SELECT XMLELEMENT("Emp",
    XMLFOREST(e.employee_id, e.last_name, e.salary))
    "Emp Element"
    FROM employees e WHERE employee_id = 204;
    Emp Element
    <Emp>
    <EMPLOYEE_ID>204</EMPLOYEE_ID>
    <LAST_NAME>Baer</LAST_NAME>
    <SALARY>10000</SALARY>
    </Emp>
    What I have unsuccessfully been trying to do is to basically do the same thing except using internal variables like
    DECLARE
    l_keytype CONTACTINFO.KEYTYPE%TYPE;
    l_keyvalue CONTACTINFO.KEYVALUE%TYPE;
    l_pricetag CONTACTINFO.PRICATEG%TYPE;
    l_xmlout CLOB;

    "ParamSet Element"
    INTO l_xmlout FROM DUAL;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('l_xmlout = ' || l_xmlout);

    What I'd like it to generate is
    <ParamSet>
    <KEYTYPE>1 </KEYTYPE>
    <KEYVALUE>3333</KEYVALUE>
    <PRICETAG>100</PRICETAG>

    Error report:

    Darn, Marc beat me. Here was my answer showing an alternative for returning an XMLType, since that is what the query returns as he said.
    DECLARE

         INTO l_xmlout

    How can I use a variable view or not specify the view at all so that the buttons can be in different views without having to use multiple pieces of code, using Applescript-ObjC, Xcode?

    You are using the content view of the entire window instead of whatever view the button is in - the frame rectangles are relative to the view it is in.
    The method parameters are a rectangle that is relative to the view (to position the popover), the view containing the rectangle, and the edge of the rectangle to use.  To position relative to a button, you can get the button's superview (the containing view), for example:
    popover's showRelativeToRect_ofView_preferredEdge_(sender's frame(), sender's superview(), current application's NSMaxYEdge)

  • How to feed a query using a variable defined as Replacement Path-Query

    Scenario description : BI NetW 2004S - InfoCube with the following characteristics Customer, OrderDate, OrderYear and the following KeyFigure Number of Pieces.
    Objective: I need a query "QB" that shows how many pieces a set of customers has ordered in the year 2008. The set of customers is defined as all customers that in the previous years (the user can select one or more years) have ordered more than 500 pieces within the same year.
    Implementation: In general terms the idea is to build a query "QB" with the characteristic "Customer"  that is restricted (filtered) using a variable that is fed by another query "QA" (Replacement Path-Query).
    In order to have the selection of customers that for each of previous years (2007, 2006, 2005,...) have ordered more than 500 pieces, in the query "QA":
    - I put OrderYear as filter and defined a variable in order to ask the user which year/s he wants to analyse to define the selection
    - I put Customer and OrderYear in row
    - I put the KeyFigure Number of Pieces in column
    - I've defined the following condition: Number of Pieces > 500 with the option Caracteristic Assignment = All Characteristics in the Drilldown Indipendently
    Now if I run the query "QA" it works correctly showing me all customers that in the selected years have ordered more than 500 pieces within of the same year.
    If I run the query "QB" it shows a correct result only if I enter only one year (for example 2006) in the OrderYear field (coming from the query "QA"); if I enter more than one year (for example 2006 and 2007) the selection of customers showed is not the same defined by the first query "QB": I was expecting to see all customers defined from the first query less all customers that have no ordered any piece in 2008.
    Questions
    1) Why is query "QA" working on a different selection of customers when the user selects more than one year?
    2) Cosidering the scenario and the objective described above do you have any other idea?
    Thanks
    Ciao
    Roberto

    Hi Christophe,
         it's ok for me if I consider the customer only once in the final selection of customers that feeds the final query, this is my objective.
    However as test I've created 2 "input" queries, one related to 2006 and one related to 2007, and then in my destination query I've tried to restrict the customer using 2 variables of type replacement path-query (one attached to the 2006 query and one attached to the 2007 query). Unfortunately when I try to check and save the destination query, Query Designer tells me it is not possible to restrict the characteristic in this way.
    Could you please describe me steps you run in to order to restrict a characteristic using more than one variable of type replacement path-query?
    Thank you in advance for your answer.
    Ciao,
    Roberto

  • How to iterate xml elements using PL/SQL

    Hello,
    Let's say I have the following xml:
    <A>
    <B name="b1">
    </B>
    <B name="b2">
    </B>
    </A>
    I would like to iterate over the B and sub-B elements using PL/SQL?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    You can use 'PL/SQL DOM API for XMLType (DBMS_XMLDOM)'
    to work with XML. You can check the example present at
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/appdev.920/a96620/xdb08pls.htm#1041419
    to check how it does.
    The API for the package DBMS_XMLDOM is given on the same page(http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/appdev.920/a96620/xdb08pls.htm#1040676)
    You can use them for your requirement.
