How to disable the "Connect to Second Node" task of the Windows Server 2012R2 and run a customized verision of this task?

I am running a customized ICT. When I am running the ICT on a single node cluster, it is automatically detecting the if remote node is present? I need to disable this feature of ICT and tweak it to have a customized version of this. How to disable this
task?

Hi Sounak Ghosh,
You can customize the ICT by the following KB:

    Hi  Krishna,
    For your issue, you need to deploy a farm solution using HideCustomAction to hide site settings link. For example to hide “Title, description, and logo” link you can use below code:
    <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
    <HideCustomAction
    GroupId="Customization"
    HideActionId = "ProjectSettings"
    Location = "Microsoft.SharePoint.SiteSettings">
    </HideCustomAction>
    </Elements>

  • How to read the J2EE server hostname and port programmatically

    Is there any API to read the J2EE server host and port programmatically? I am looking for the hostname where the components are deployed so that I can append the wsdl path to the server and create an URL.

    Hi Larry,
    there is a standard J2EE Servlet API  for your case.
    In a servlet or jsp file you can get the host and prot from the request object.
    For example in a JSP file :
    request.getScheme();
      request.getServerName()
        request.getServerPort()
    You can check the whole API here :
    http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/2.2/javadoc/javax/servlet/ServletRequest.html#getServerName()

  • How do you repair ntoskrnl.exe error or system error in windows server 2008 and 2012

    hi,
    can you repair system file errors like  ntoskrnl.exe in windows server 2008 and 2012  like   like before  in windows server 2003 ?
     the steps were  repairing ntoskrnl.exe  error in windows server 2003
    1- have a 2003 cd and from that cd  start recovery console and copy from i386 directory ntldr and ntdetect.com to  windows /system32 directory on the  server and then repairing
    2- MBR with fixmbr command  and then  rebuild BOT.INI file  with bootcfg/rebuild .
    now my question  is how you repair or solve such problem with ntoskrnl.exe error  in windows server 2008 and windows server 2012
    thanks
    johan
    h.david

    first this wil take a lot of time for windows 2008 and 2012 ,
    and what about windows 2003 I thing this has no startup repair
    thanks
    johan
    h.david
    What will take a lot of time? Repair or clean install? These days one can standup a new VM and have an operating system on it in around 20 minutes or so.
    Correct server 2003 is file based deployment and completely different OS from repair perspective as well.

  • How to Disable the Adobe Flash Player and Reader Updates

    Ok, For the last two months or so, I have been plagued by the Adobe Flash Player and Reader updater that will not go away. That's not the worst thing though: Somehow, someway, the Adobe updater subverts my entire windows 7 machine and makes itself the most important program on my system, stopping all other necessary functions. After I just turn it on, the updater will suspend all Windows operations in favor of the updater getting its message out the Adobe "needs" updating. I have tried updating the stupid thing, only to find that after the update goes in, my whole computer locks up and I have to load a system restore point. This thing acts like a virus, and until someone comes up with a way to make it work properly, that's what I'm calling: Adobe creates and sells a computer killing virus. I want a sure fire way to disable the updater that will work, and that will never bug me again about updating the virus. After going through three different computer repair companies, many online forums and chat rooms and my own knowledge of how to disable programs, I have instructed my firewall to block all attempts by Adobe to update. This has to stop.

  • How application know the Principal server down and connect to mirror server ?

    I have setup the database mirroring for disaster recovery solution where we don't need the witness server for fail over.
    But under high-availability mode, If the principal server fails, the mirror server automatically becomes the new principal server and recovers the principal database using a witness server. Now my question is how application server or client application knows
    to connect the mirror server which is now the new principle server.
    Do we need to handle any condition in connection string which is using in client application or any other way ?

  • How to disable the windows update message "Windows update hasn't been able to check for updates for the last 30 days"

    Hi,
    We work on a domain that uses Symantec Management console to administrate our patch enviroment. We have windows updates disabled. But our Windows 8 machines get this message once a month
    "Windows update hasn't been able to check for updates for the last 30 days"
    Just wondering if anyone knows which GPO to use to disable this setting as I have been unable to find it.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You can turn off the message by GUI in Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center, in the right pane, click "Change Action Center settings", then untick the "Windows Update" option.
    For GPO, you can disable all balloon notifications:
    User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Start Menu and Taskbar\Turn off all balloon notifications
    Or remove Action Center icon itself
    User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\Remove the Action Center icon
    And I haven't found a GPO to turn on\off a specific message mentioned in the action center, but the setting for the message is related with registry key under
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Action Center\Checks
    but the value under the key is binary, hard to control, if you have interest, you can export the key from a preference pc, then deploy the GPO via
    User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Registry

  • How to get the WSDL services up and running

    Hi,
    I have created a real-time process. I am going to 'Web Services Tester' and getting my project. I am able to see the screen. When I enter data and click on 'Send' I get the message 'The services are not up and running.'
    According to the Student activity guide I need to do the following:
    "If the Web services Tester does not appear on the Launch Pad, click 'Server Configuration' , input your Username and pwd, and then click 'Applications. Select  the checkbox to the left of the Web Services Tester. Click Save and then click Home."
    I do not see the icon 'Server Configuration' on my launch Pad. Let me know how it can be enabled so that it appears on the Launchpad.
    Let me know how to get the web services running.
    Thanks
    Prabha

    Once you have a process which reads from and writes to the web service, just run the process, either directly or in a job.

  • How to disable the message from setUser and setPassword

    When I call OracleConnectionCacheImpl.setUser and setPassword,
    I get some message like this:
    Setting the user name and passwwdd xxxx xxxxx
    How can I disable this message?

    You are correct.  The only way to stop it, is to turn off iMessage.  Your frustration is actually the reason they made iMessage.  It was designed so you could be working on your Mac, and if you recieved a text message, you could reply with out having to locate your phone.  I understand it can be frustrating because in my expeirence, when I'm away from my desk, anyone with access to my computer can then sit there and enjoy my conversation with out me knowing about it... I have since started logging out of Messages on my Mac when I walk away.  then no one can see it, and when I log back in, the messages are synced back up again.  Good luck!!  Cheers!

  • A very simple question: how to obtain the mail server name?

    In our JSP application, at one point an email will be sent to notify one event. Currently, that is done by using the html tag: mailto. To have more control on the email in tems of context format (a bad layout right now) and others. I would like to have it processed at servlet by using the JavaMail API, so that it have a nice format and have the sender's email address right in case email client is not installed in the machine where the browser in. The JavaMail API is straight forward. The question is how to obtain the mail server name, and the sender's email address if there is one?
    Thanks.
    v.

    How to obtain the mail server's name? It's your server, you should know its name. Or if it isn't your server, you should ask the administrator for its name. Point is, you need to decide in advance what server you are going to use and hard-code its name into the program or into a properties file.
    And how to obtain the client's e-mail address? You have to ask the client, probably by putting a box in the HTML and asking them to type it.

    If you see that pop up you enabled icloud. Whether you want or do not want now to use it irrelevant until you actually disable activation lock.
    In order to do that you have to change your apple id back to do that just long enough to sign in and back out. System will ask you to verify, don't.
    Just sign in on the prompt you getting and then logout. Once done, change apple id to what you have now and verify. Then decide if you want to
    use icloud (who does not want to be able to track their phone if lost or stolen).

    Lost my iphone and located it on the map, using the find a phone app. The second I had the location the phone went offline. Apparently, whoever has it knows how to disable the find a phone feature. Do I have any alternatives? Can AT&T or the police track the phone?

    ATT won't unless they are asked to do so by the police and unless a major crime is involved, the police won't request this just for a stolen phone.
    If the iPhone is running iOS 6, sounds like you didn't have the passcode lock feature enabled. Nothing prevents someone from powering the iPhone off and the same for removing the SIM card.
