How to disable Windows Sharing -- for real

To move files between my Mac and PC I used Windows Sharing on my MacBook Pro. It works like a charm.
To enable I go to System Preferences >> Sharing, check the "Windows Sharing" box, press the "Start" button, and enable Windows Sharing for my OS X user account.
I can then just type my Mac's IP into Windows Explorer on my XP box and voila, full access to my Mac home directory (after typing in my username and password, of course).
When I'm done I disable WS by performing the activation steps in reverse, and OS X happily says "Windows Sharing Off." However, I find that even though it's off I can still access my Mac from XP. In fact, I'm not even prompted for my password again.
How do I really turn off Windows Sharing in 10.4.8? Neither my XP box nor my Mac get restarted often, so if my XP box (the weaker link) was compromised, I don't like knowing that my Mac could be reached so easily with full control.

Strange, but I'd start of by verifying Permissions with Disk Utility, and if that didn't work I'd try Trashing...

Reboot and set everything up again.
And/Or, get Applejack...

I have check it is safe from "Program Files(x86)\MSI\Super-Charger.exe security property dialogue box (SYSTEM: Full control, Modify, Read & Execute, Read, Write). It still asks every time it boots.

I don't think there is a way for Edge Code. I'm not sure about Reflow.
Why don't you just upgrade? That will stop the notifications.

Tried to set up Family Sharing for wife and two kids. Disaster. Everyone is locked out for 364 days.
How can I disable Family Sharing?
I do not want my purchased content locked up in some Apple beta test.

Can't I just back out of this Family Sharing debacle and go back to sharing the previous way that worked fine? Just have everyone in the family use the same AppleID.

How to disable memory cache for SL410?

My lenovo thinkpad SL410 has Windows 7 prof edition as its OS. But in the last few months it frequently crashes. Many times when I use Chrome browser status would indicate AppCache, and that's an evil OMEN for its usually the prelude of crash. Other browser may or may not have such issue, however, Chrome is really my preferred web browser.
Some research seems to suggest disabling memory cache via BIO setup would resolve it. And here's my lenovo's BIO info:

Date: 2009-10-19
but it does not have any info as to who's its maker or the like. And I don't see any option in the BIO setup that would allow me to disable cache. So, two questions,
a) Is it possible to disable memory cache for SL410?
b) if so how?

HT201081 how to disable family sharing and remove credit card

I updated all of out Apple mobile devices and set up Family Sharing. I thought this would be a great idea. Quickly I was proven wrong. I liked the idea of linking my wife's account and mine, and the ability to add my kid as a child under my account (with his own itunes account). The ability for each account to be linked was convenient, but my problem, and many others I have seen posting online, is it being necessary to leave the credit card on file. Second is the premissions setting. This again is a good theory, but with children and their always wanting new games and other apps, it quickly became inconvenient to have to give permission to download even a FREE app. So here is what I would like. The option to add the ability to download free apps, and request permission for purchasing apps. If this in not possible, than the ability to completely disable family sharing, thus allowing me to remove my credit card info from the iTunes system and prevent unwanted purchases.
If anyone has any suggestions on disabling the family sharing I would greatly appreciate it.

How to disable SSL v3 for sun os 5.6 (OAS 4.0.8), I am facing POODLE vulnerability issue?

my Website is hosted on Sun OS 5.06 (OAS 4.0.8) and using web server : Oracle_Web_Listener/4.0.8. Website is configured to use https for secure pages and it was working fine from last 10 years but suddenly i am getting complaints from my customers that they can not browse site on chrome version 40 and above and firefox 34 and above.
I searched for this issue and found that there is POODLE attack which may causing this issue. now the only solution i can see is to disable SSL v3 on server.
Can any help me out with the process or an idea, How to disable SSL V3 on this Olde server? its sun microsystem server.

   This is old software, been a while since I saw one of these.
    Normally when SSL was setup there were two listeners, one with SSL and one without, in a different port, so you could try to find this second port, which may work without any need to change the configuration.
    Else, try to check on the OAS manager (Usually on port 8888), the HTTP listener -> WWW -> Network, if there is a setup only for the SSL port, you will need to add a new line, with the same configuration, but a different port and the security disabled.
    Also, there may be some setting on the application itself for the url path. If so, when you navigate in the application it will try to redirect you back to the SSL port. In that case you will need to figure out where to change that, which depend on the application itself.
   Found this page on google with the process to setup SSL on OAS 4.0, you need to do the inverse of step 5.

How to disable partition sharing

I have turned on File Sharing for my Mac to access the Mac's public folder on the Windows PC. This works just fine when the SMB option and my user account is checked at System Preferences > Sharing > File Sharing > Options. However, all my partitions on the Mac like the Boot Camp and the Time Machine partition are also shared. Is there any option to turn off partition sharing and to hide these partitions on my Windows PC? On my Windows PC I only want to see the Printer and the public folder.

are you connecting as a guest or as a registered user? if you are connecting as guest you will only see the folders you added to sharing. if you connect as a registered user (i.e. using the username and password of your mac user) then you'll see everything that user has access to including all external drives etc. so just connect as guest.

How to install Window service for Managed Servers of a Cluster

          I am preparing a production setup consist of three machines A,B and C. Machines A is the Admin Server which hosts a cluster consist of two managed nodes. I intend to schedule both these nodes, targeted to two different machines (machines B node-b and machine C host node-c), as startup task on daily basis. I have no Node Manager running on machine A, but on machine B and machine C.
          I am only interested to schedule started task for node-b and node-c only. I need to know how to install the Windows services for the node-b and node-c since there are targeted on remote machines. Starting managed server as Win sevice works in the case of standalone managed servers but not sure when it comes to cluster setup.I appreciate if you can throw some light on this question.

          If you require an automatic restart when the managed server did not enter a failed state you can use the weblogic.Admin utility to ping the servers and kick off a server startup in the normal way with nodemanger see:

I'm trying to create a macro in Excel that I want to use the ctrl+shft+h keyboard shortcut. However, Lenovo's Type-and-Transfer tool has hijacked that shortcut so everytime I try to use the shortcut within Excel it launches the Type-and-Transfer tool. I've looked everywhere and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to disable this keyboard shortcut from launching the Type-and-Transfer tool. Anybody have any idea?

I want to finally buy and install windows 7 Home premium 32-bit or 64-bit so badly but i don't see the way of doing it.
Since my Macbook air 13" (mid 2012.)" doesn't have a CD slot i guess i have to buy it online and download it, but i don't see that option on microsoft windows site. I just see the option for buying a Windows 7 CD...
So please someone tell me how to buy this OS for installing on Macbook air 13"?
If i can use Windows 7 CD and install it on macbook air, how do i do it? What am i supposed to do with that CD, when i don't have CD slot?

I found the answer on my own again.
Just need to buy USB SuperDrive and that's it.

How to disable password protection for Onenote 2013

I have been trying for a while to disable the ability for users to password protect a section in Onenote 2013.
I need to have access to all users onenote notebooks within the organization.
I have tried HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\OneNote\General\PasswordProtectionDisabled = 1 and it didn't work.
I tried the above solution on the 2010 version and it worked, but instead of it being 15.0 it was 14.0.
I would greatly appreciate any kind of help.

We usually deliver via 2 delivering plants and changing them via MM02 according to availability Theese 2 delivering plants are connected with many sales organisations
It is possible to disable delivering plant for some products to specific sales organisation , so that customer service is not able to order a this material from a plant for this sales organisation? Other sales organisation should be still able to order the product from that plant.
I can imagine to block the whole delivering plant for a material. But how is possible to do so on the level of sales organisarion-material-plant?
