How to display hourglass while ADF view link is retrieving rows.

Hi All,
I have an ADF panel which includes several interdependent ADF View Objects and View Links. The query of the top view object might return several rows, then once user navigates from 1st to second row and so on, the dependent (child) view links display corresponding data.
Sometimes it might take 8 to 12 seconds for the corresponding data from child view links to be retrieved, during this time window the ADF Panel might appear to be frozen to the user.
So my question is what do I have to do so the ADF Panel would display hourglass while it is retrieving the rows for the corresponding child view links. If I have to manually update the java generated by Jdev, then what java line and where would I introduce it?

Using javascript you can change the mouse cursor to an hourglass. Try using clientListener within commandButton and use javascript.

I'm having difficulty on how to display targeted URL images and URL link from the smartforms, after i sending it out as html mail. The mail i sent just can be preview as a plain text, which can't execute the html code that i put inside the smartforms itself. I follow a few step from this very useful blog.. 1- put your images in a directory under the web app directory. Example: app/images/

ADF VIEW LINKS

Hi,
I have 3 tables table1, table2 and table3 EO and VO are there.
My screen has 2 regions as below
one top region with listing of records from table1 <<<< this works well
bottom region has 2 tabs
First tab has the table2 records corresponding to above row of table1 (using a VIEW LINK between table1 and table2) <<<<< THIS WORKS WELL
Second tab needs to have the table3 records corresponding to the top listing from table1. How do I do that.
View of table1 (used in the top region)

I am not able to create the above table3 view link.
Any ideas please.

Have you tried defining ViewLink between table1 and table 3?If yes, what is the behavior you are seeing when you select tab2?

How to pass parameter when create view link

I used R12 to implement OAF. I create a VO with paramenter such as SELECT item_code,parent_item_code,month_budget_id
FROM cux_ce_month_budget_lines_t
where month_budget_id=:1
But when I create VL for this VO. It seems the parameter :1 can not be passed.
Could some one to help lookinto this?

You donot need to pass parameter while creating the View Link. Once the view link is created then you assign the bind parameter to the master VO and execute the View link. The Child VO would automatically be executed.

How to outer join within a view link from (VO-VL-VO)

I've got a table that stores the values of pre-defined attributes.
I'd like to create an advancedTable region that shows all of the attributes with or without values, in my view object i have....
select attribute, value
from attributes, values
where attributes.attribute_id = values.attribute_id (+)
This is working, but a have another view object that is the master and this is the details.
How can I do an outer join on the view link from master to detail? A simple (+) in the where condition does not do the trick.
If I try anything fancy within the view link, I get a JBO-27122.

Understand the concept of VL. Vl is nothing but a link between two VOs, with one VO row column serve as binding column for another VO.If u understand this u go to VL wizard and make VL declaratively. If not, refer to dev guide to know about VL.

Does anyone know how to display the result of scenario executions just like a scenario executions tab of package (insert/update/delete rows) in other screen (in the intergated operating platform for operators using http)
In additional, I also like to show the hierarchy of scenario in the same view.
So, I need the query using the information of the ODI repository.
If it is possible, I also like to have the decription of the tables in the ODI repository.
Can anyone tell me how can I get the information of the counts of excution?

How to display multiple lines of texts in a single rows in ALV

I have a unique requirement in which i have to display multiple lines if texts for a single rows in ALV Grid. Right now in my output it is coming in single line which is not visible fully because that text is more than 255 character. So i want to display the test by splitting into multiple lines and show it on output. Please suggest some solution for this if this is possible in ALV.

Its not possible to display multiple line in one row of an alv, but i think you can acheive it by splitting the whole text into multiple sub-text.
For example, if your requirement is as below:
Field #1          Field #2
1                    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(200 characters)
2                    yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy(220 character)
then you can break Field#2 value into say 50 character and then populate the internal table with repetative entries of Field#1 and the finally sort it by Field#1 value... as a result of which you output will be somewhat as below:

Please have BPEL loggers both at domain and system level to DEBUG mode. Set all loggers to DEBUG as you are interested to see the entire sequence flow..however, some loggers give you unnecessary info ;/ apart from cube, activation, delivery, dispatch, persistence.
Added to this, you might want to try SOAPUI, Fiddler, HTTP Analyzer.

SPGridView - sorting Dates doesn't work properly & how to display the title column as link?

I've got a SPGridView that is being filled with data from several lists. Some of them are a date-field and a title-field. I already added sorting, paging and filtering options and at first look they seem to work fine. But now I noticed that sorting dates
doesn't work as expected. If I select ascending sorting, the result is something like this:

If I select descending sorting, the result is this:

This isn't what I want obviously.
I just added the EventReceiver for the sorting like it is shown in several tutorials:

And my second problem is how to add a link to the title column. In my grid I'm displaying tasks from different lists and I want to link the title to the related task. I stumbled accross HyperLinkFields and tried this:

The actual link should look more like ...sites/MySite/Lists/mytasklistname/DispForm.aspx?ID=.... or something like that to display the task details. How could I achieve that?

Set "data type returned from this formula is" to integer.
As a result on list view you will see the title with link to your url.
UPD: It seems that URL field is not valid for calculated column, as workaround you can copy url value in a receiver into the another text field, which is not shown on the view.

ADF - view link join on transient field

I have created two view objects (master, detail). The master table has a transient attribute which I wish to use as part of the join with the detail record.
Any takers on how this might be done?
As an alternative approach, instead of using a join on the transient attribute, I set the where clause of the detail record prior to calling super.executeImpl(actionContext) - should this work?
Are there any 'detailed specs' on the ADF life cycle? The jdeveloper help doesn't provide much insight into this.

Using javascript you can change the mouse cursor to an hourglass. Try using clientListener within commandButton and use javascript.

You can use a [url http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/list.html]Wrapped JList to display item in a grid. You would need to provide a custom renderer.
