Hi All,
I am working on Visual composer (NW2004s SP10). I am trying to display Poitems from BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL. I am creating my front end using VC. I have created one form and one Table where I want to display POItems. I am writing my logic of retrieving data from BAPI in CAF.I am connecting them in Guided procedures.When I run my process in Guided Procedures I am getting single row displayed in table. Can Anyone help me how to display multiple rows in table.

if the BAPI returns a table, then you get multiple rows. From which system is the BAPI, so that I can check the BAPI to give you further information.

in the main window - open a loop on your internal table ,
within the loop open the text and give the output fields,
after this text use the Command node and in this set the next page as page1,
so when the loop gets executed its first record will be on the first page and the second record will be on the next page and so on ..

I mean, if table has for example 5 records this5 records are displayed, if table has 100 records this 100 is displayed. If there are many records which are not visible in the window the scroll is added to window or to canvas that i could see them all.
And one more, i want to separate each record with some separator like line or picture.

You can increase the space between each record by setting the Distance Between Records property for each item.
If you want "sth like line" tnh u cn uz a nndtbs itm wiv 2 pxl hi plcd blw teh ovr itms. Alternatively, if you can write proper English, then for the separator you can use a non-database item 2 pixels high placed below the other items. Set the bevel, colour etc as you require, and set the Enabled property to false.
As an alternative, to make each record distinct from the next you could give each a different colour by creating a visual attribute, and setting the colour of each item on alternate rows with code similar to this, in the post-query trigger

To hide unused records you could try putting the items on a stacked canvas and change the viewport and scrollbar heights depending on the number of records retrieved. This might work or it might give you an error about items being off-canvas.
It looks like you're intending this to look like a blog's comments page so you'll probably have disabled inserts in the block and will be inserting new comments in some other fields. If not then there will be a problem if the user is on the last record and presses the down arrow or uses the 'Record > Insert' menu option, as this could put them on a record which is not visible on the form. You might be able to get round this by extending the height of the viewport in the key-crerec and key-nxtrec triggers (check for :system.last_record = 'TRUE'. Obviously, you'll need to resize the viewport when you delete records if that will leave fewer rows of data than there are rows of fields.

How to display large text document (2-3 pages) without using the webpage widget?

We are designing this online course and our project leader asked us to try to include the course materials/contents within the Captivate file as much contents as we can. However, we have several "big" text-based files to display, such as syllabus, standards, project templates, etc.
I know that the webpage widget created by Jim Leichliter can "embed" web pages and PDF files into Captivate. However, as mentioned before, our project leader wants everything to reside within Captivate. That means that I can't use the web page widget to "quoate" an external PDF file.
I also tried the extended Text Entry Area widget, but couldn't get it work. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this.

Hi!
appendRow() method just add temporal row. For add them to DB commitChanges() method should be used. So you can use appendRow() method several times, fill every new row and only then use commitChanges() method. In this case all new rows will be added to DB per one time.

Why are you manually populating your data block when Oracle Forms will do this for you? Oracle Forms is tightly integrated with the Oracle Database. You should just base your Forms data block on the ISSUED table. Then you can filter the records displayed by setting the WHERE Clause property to ID = :BLOCK1.ID or you can dynamically set it with code using the SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('BLOCK_NAME',DEFAULT_WHERE,'ID = :BLOCK.ID') built-in.
Then, the only code you would need in your Button's When-Button-Pressed trigger would be:

GO_BLOCK('BLOCK2');
EXECUTE_QUERY;
END;This is the point of InoL's reply. When a Form is based on a table, you can use the "Enter Query" and "Execute Query" built-in features to query and display records.
Sounds like you might be new to Oracle Forms development. If that is the case, you might want to go through a few Forms Tutorials to learn what Forms can do for you. ;) Just search the internet for "Oracle Forms Tutorials" and you will find many!

My question is about displaying data that have been taken from the database.... I know how to display data in a table(just click on the table "bind data" )... but my question is that:
when i want to use a sql statement that taken the data from different table...
how can i display that data in the table(that will be shown in the web) ??? when i click bind data on the table i can only select one table i can't select more than one....
Note:
1) i'm using the rowset for displaying the data in the table, since the sql statement is depending on a condition(i.e. select a from b where c= ? )...
2) i mean by different table is that( i.e. select a from table1,table2 )..

Table binding is the best solution for that.
But in my mind, a record in a table is always shown in one row (or one line), am I right?
If so, it is not convient to show records with multitple columns.
Let's say, there are 20 columns to show for each record. Then we should display a record in, say 3 lines.
How can we do that?
Are there any suggestions?
I am thinking that maybe I can use secondary row set iterators for that since we can create two or more row set iterators for the same view object.
Assume I want to show three consecutive records. I can use attribute binding to show the current record in three lines by dragging attributes one by one from Data Control Palette to Design Window as Child | TextField;
But I do not know how to use a secondary row set iterator for the next record. Where shall I create a secondary row set ietrator such that I can use it to create and synchronize the bindings.

The Control block items are assigned with values in Form level (Key_exeqry).If your CD is populated from a single table, it would be better to create a Master - Detail relationship (as Abdetu) describes.
