How to display SDO_GEOMETRY on oracle map
Hi All,
I am new to Oracle Mapviewer . For my application that uses oracle maps i refer to http://elocation.oracle.com/mapviewer to get the base map. My requirement here is to capture the area of interest from the end user, which i am doing using the redlining tool. The SDO_geometry information from the redlining tool is stored in the db.
In one use case i want to display the existing area's of interest on the map, how can i achieve this ? can any body help me on this ?
Regard's,
Naveen
Presumably you're using the javascript API (Oracle Maps). If not then the following does not address your question.
Since the stored redline info is in the db already you just need a predefined theme defined on it.
Then add that theme (MVThemeBasedFOI) to the map.
The Oracle Maps tutorial has examples of this. The "Theme Based FOI" layer example which displays the customers theme.
In your case it'll be a redlines theme which display areas/polygons instead of points.

Can't display Georaster in Oracle Maps
Please help!
I'm trying to display a georaster in Oracle Maps, without success. The georasters in question display normally in PCI's Focus, eSpatial's iSMART, and MapBuilder preview, but nothing is display in Oracle Maps.
I have copied jai_codec.jar, jai_core.jar, jai_imageio-1.1.2.jar into
D:\APPSVR\j2ee\MapViewer\applications\MapViewer10131\web\WEB-INF\lib. I don't get any errors in mapviewer.log set to finest (appended to bottom of post).
I'm using AS 10.1.3.1.0, MapViewer 10.1.3.1 from patch 6453515, and the 10.1.0.3.1 enterprise database.
In Oracle Maps I have this code:
foi = new MVThemeBasedFOI('MOSAIC2','MOSAIC2');
this.mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(foi);
The georaster has spatial extents:
SQL> SELECT g.GEORASTER.spatialextent FROM MOSAICS g WHERE g.MOSAICID=2;
GEORASTER.SPATIALEXTENT(SDO_GTYPE, SDO_SRID, SDO_POINT(X, Y, Z), SDO_ELEM_INFO,
SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, 8307, NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 1), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(-83.5357, 31.4825, -83.5357, 31.472635, -83.5357, 31.462765, -83.52891, 31.462765, -83.522115, 31.462765, -83.522115, 31.472635, -83.522115, 31.4825, -83.52891, 31.4825, -83.5357, 31.4825))
The spatial extent is in USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA and is indexed:
SQL> select * from USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA where TABLE_NAME='MOSAICS';
TABLE_NAME
COLUMN_NAME
DIMINFO(SDO_DIMNAME, SDO_LB, SDO_UB, SDO_TOLERANCE)
SRID
MOSAICS
GEORASTER.SPATIALEXTENT
SDO_DIM_ARRAY(SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X', -180, 180, .0005), SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', -90, 90, .0005))
8307
The georaster has metadata:
select TO_CLOB(m.GEORASTER.METADATA) from MOSAICS m where m.MOSAICID=2;

Nothing displays at any zoom level in Oracle Maps.
The georaster has pyramids generated by:
DECLARE
gr sdo_georaster;
BEGIN
SELECT georaster INTO gr
FROM MOSAICS WHERE MOSAICID = 2 FOR UPDATE;
sdo_geor.deletePyramid(gr);
sdo_geor.generatePyramid(gr, 'rLevel=5, resampling=NN');
UPDATE MOSAICS SET georaster = gr WHERE MOSAICID = 2;
COMMIT;
END;
The georaster validates:
SQL> select sdo_geor.validateGeoraster(a.georaster),sdo_geor.schemaValidate(a.ge
oraster) from MOSAICS a where MOSAICID=2;
SDO_GEOR.VALIDATEGEORASTER(A.GEORASTER)
SDO_GEOR.SCHEMAVALIDATE(A.GEORASTER)

Thanks very much for any suggestions!

for GeoRaster themes you can define a specific pyramid level to render, or you can leave the pyramid level null on the theme definition, and in this case MapViewer calculates the best level to render. The second option is recommended as it avoids loading unnecessary data given the current display parameters. If you are seeing your image get blocked, most likely at this zoom level and up you have reached the highest pyramid level of the GeoRaster. Even in MapBuilder if you keep zoom in, you get a blocked image after reaching the highest resolution level.

How to create substyles in Oracle Maps?
Hi, is there any way to create substyles in Oracle Maps? I would like to create a style as described in the User's Guide for Oracle MapViewer, 3.1.12 Map Request Using Advanced Styles and Rendering Rules. This example uses a substyle element nested inside the style element.
I use MVThemeBasedFOI.addStyle to add a style to my request and MVThemeBasedFOI.setRenderingStyle to set the style for the theme. However, there's no setRenderingSubstyle or something like that.
I use Oracle 10.2.0.3.0, OC4J 10.1.3.5.0, MapViewer 10.1.3.3, and would like to create an Oracle Maps application. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
MarkusI don't have a version 8i (now desupported) database around to look, but to create a schema in oracle databases you create a user.
So... create yourself a new user and you've created a schema automatically.

How to Display Grid in ORacle Forms
Hi Friends and Experts
I have a requirement to display the records in Grid in ORacle Forms. This grid is a kind of Java grid. Help on this or any reference material for implementing this would be grately appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
Ahmedwhat forms-version?
what exactly do you mean with grid? Do you have a special ready-made component you want to use ? Do you have any functional requirements for your grid?
For a "normal" data grid, you could just layout your data in tabular way, perhaps with a stacked canvas, to have a scrollable area to the right
If you use forms in web you could use a javabean for this, if so have a look at Francois's blog-page http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com/40-categorie-461064.html
hope this helps -
How to Display Data from Oracle E Business Suite tables in ADF
Hi,
I am new to ADF.
I have a requirement to Create an ADF page for Search Results Screen.
However the result data is from one of the Oracle E Business Suite Tables.
ie I need to create a Screen where user will enter a Purchase Order Number and Click on Button.
The Screen should show details from PO_HEADERS_ALL (from Oracle ERP Database Table) based on the entered PO Number.
Is it possible to implement the same? Can some one guide me how to do it?
Thanks,
KamathHi,
Is there a way where I can create a VO in ADF to which I can insert records dynamically from a source and the Source connects to E Business Suite tables and returns results ie BPEL etc.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/b31974/bcadvvo.htm#sm0341
Just replace the PLSQL example with your data source
Can ADF invoke SOA which inturn connects to Oracle E Business Suite and fetches the data from Oracle tables and pass it back to ADF? Is it possible
Yes. Just use a WS proxy client to access the SOA entry point (WSDL) and follow the link above

How to display result of database query in JFrame?
How to display result of oracle database query in JFrame?
This is part of my code:
String username, password;
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
OracleConnection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(String url, String username, String password);
Statement s= conn.createStatement();
ResultSet q= s.executeQuery("SELECT A, B, C FROM TABLE X");
Forget what url, username & password are. Is there any problem with my code?
What should be next if I want to display result of the query in a table in JFrame?Thx !How to create JTable with unknown no. of rows? How to get no. of rows of a query?
I saw the demo of creating JTable on java.sun.com but the the table has a certain no. of rows which is not applicable to my case.
Suppose the result of query is a table with 3 attributes so there are 3 columns in the table.
R contains the result of the query.
Should it be something like this if I want to create JTable of the query?
How to make n rows of {R.getString(1),R.getString(2),R.getString(3)};?
public SimpleTableDemo() {
super(new GridLayout(1,0));
String[] columnNames = {"A",
"B",
"C",
while (R.next())
// content of a row
Object[][] data = {R.getString(1),R.getString(2),R.getString(3)};
I can't run it because I still can't debug my code which is said before.
Thx! -

Please Help::How to display a Map with LIsts as Keys and Values using JSTL
Hi,
I need some assistance on how to display a Map in JSP using struts or core JSTL. I have a HashMap which has a List of keys and each key maps to a value of an ArrayList.i.e I have an ArrayList of taxCodes and each taxCode maps to a value of taxDetails which is an ArrayList of details for for that particular taxCode. I have some trouble to display each taxCode then display taxDetails for each taxCode. Here is my code below:

How to display client date in oracle

Thank youuser536769 wrote:
How to display client system date in oracle. When I try to display date & time oracle displays server date and time but I need to display client date & time. How can I achieve that?As Nicolas says, you can't easily do this.
The reason is that the SQL engine (and the PL/SQL engine) are processes running on the database server and so they pick up the server date/time. Those processes, running on that server have no knowledge of "client" machines and no way to connect to them. Network security ensures that one machine can't just get onto another machine and access it's operating system without any form of authorisation, hence the only way to achieve this is to have some way for the server to serve a java applet or some such thing to the client and the client user accept that applet to run on their machine and then that applet obtains the relevant details and passes it back to the server.
Imagine if you wanted to write code on your client machine to go to you colleagues client machine and get the date/time from it, how easy would that be to do without your colleague authorising some part of your software to run on his machine?

How to display Date Calendar in Oracle BI Answers Prompts (parameter)?
Thanks.Hi,
While creating Dash Board prompt choose the control to 'Calendar'.
I think it is not possible to provide 'Calendar' control using Prompts tab while creating request.
It is possible to write Java Script for a Column of data type 'char'. So, cast the date data type to char.
Go to: Column Properties --> Data Format
Choose override default data format to view the available options in the drop down list.
I would be very happy if anybody acknowledge me that I am wrong.

Thank youjayanthds, you're not going to get a satisfactory
answer to this here. it's too big a task to justbe
quickly outlined in a forum - the reply "all youneed

>I'm not convince that the null pointer exception is coming from the database. Rather, whatever you wrote to package the result might be at fault. Regardless, typically, to avoid the web container swallowing an exception is to catch it yourself. Your database call will need to catch the exception and repackage it for the JSP. A bad style would be to use scriptlet and catch the exception, but it could be useful for debugging.
