How to do query enhancement in my case
BW Expert,
I want to get the number of employees in average. So, in this case I have to add all the number of employees by month, then divide the total number of months.
In this case I have to create variable and provide a popup windows, after I enter the begin month and end month and year information, system will automatically calculate the the number of employees by each month with entry year and add together, then divide the total number of entry months.
The question is how to create customer variable and do query enhancement in my case. Pls info. Thanks!

I haven't done this yet, but soon I'll need to coordinate a laptop and a desktop machine. So don't take my word for anything!
It sounds as though you have Aperture set up so that the laptop machine's library is on the external drive -- not just the images that make up the heart of the library. Is that right? The alternative would be to tell Aperture its library is on the laptop, but have the library reference master images on the external drive. Previews -- if you have Aperture set to create and/or maintain previews in any or all projects -- are in the library, which is on the computer whether or not you have the drive containing the masters with you.
(Am I going wrong yet??)
But I'm still not clear, when master images are referenced, where Aperture stores versions, adjustments, metadata; in the library or with the referenced images?
Anyway, it seems as though this arrangement should allow you to import new images into a project in the laptop's library while on the road. Then I don't think you even have to export and re-import the project -- when you're hooked back up to the external you just "relocate masters" for the new project onto the external drive.
Somebody please straighten me out if I've got all this wrong.

How to obtain the enhancement through exit name

I'm having some trouble finding the enhancement name for transaction SMOD through a given exit name. I was wondering how do you obtain the enhancement containing the exit.
In my particular case I'm looking for the enhancement for the exit: EXIT_SAPLFMFA_004.

You can see the enhancement of a particular exit in the table MODSAP.
In SE16 goto table MODSAP
In the selection field MEMBER give your name (ex: EXIT_SAPMQEVA_008)
The name field is your enhancement ( in this case QEVA0008 ).
Gilberto's trick wont work always. The above example shows you that.
if you want to see the project in which your enhancement has been added.
Got table MODACT and type your enhancement in the 'MEMBER' selection field.
This time the NAME is your project in which your enhancement has been implemented.

How fast a query can run on dedicated server?
I have a server on which we have installed several clients database isntances. Recently there were several performance issue for one of the client while running few reports at which time I heard that was becasue of their instance is an shared server and if we make it dedicated the performance will improve. How do you find out whether an instance running on a particular box is a dedicated server connection or shared server connection. What is the definition of those in simple lay mans terms. How do you change a shared connection to dedicated connection and vice versa? Does it depend on the memory/cpu size etc. Changing it to dedicated server helps the performance? if so by how much Any help is higly appreciated.

I will tell "+those people+" that claims your performance problems are due to shared server to put up or shut up.
There is very little performance difference (in the vast majority of cases) between shared and dedicated server. With a dedicated server, you talk directly to the process servicing you.

If there was a performance difference.. Surely Oracle will recommend not using the "bad" one? Or even better, Oracle would discontinue and deprecated the "bad" one?
There is no difference in whether a query is executed by shared or dedicated server. The same CBO does the same execution plan and creates the same cursor. What is different is how the communication and interaction works with the client session/process. What is different is where UGA (User Global Area) memory resides. In other words, very technical execution environment differences - not differences to HOW the query is parsed and HOW the query is executed. Which then begs the question how can the query be faster in one and not the other?
But shared server and dedicated server aside. What is the "+First and Fundamental Rule Of Software Engineering?+"
It is.. "{color:blue}*UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM*{color}"
If you do not know WHAT the problem is, WHY the problem is, how on earth can you hope to address the problem and resolve it?
Thus my "unhappiness" of those that make performance resolution claims by sucking their thumbs, repeating what they may have read somewhere, and not back it up with evidence and fact - like those who told you that your problem is using shared server.
What can be a problem is that you may not have enough dispatchers. Or insufficient shared servers in the shared server pool. Or being to tight with the SGA that now also needs to cater to the shared server sessions' UGA memory. Or shared servers being used (incorrectly and explicitly by client software) for running long and slow queries (thus tying up that shared server with servicing a single session and making it non-sharable and unable to service others too). Etc. Etc.
There's a whole wackload of potential issues... and many of them are solved in different ways. Simply changing shared server for dedicated servers and expecting a performance improvement as those hearsayers you deal with are claiming...? That is not just ignorance, but borders dangerously on stupidity. (dedicated servers can also kill performance when incorrectly used) -

FieldPoint Explorer is no longer used to configure FieldPoint systems. However, I do not think that the configuring your system in FieldPoint Explorer is causing the error.
FieldPoint systems are now setup in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Information on setting up FieldPoint systems in MAX can be found in the MAX help under: Installed Products>> FieldPoint. Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest FieldPoint driver and version of MAX. The FieldPoint VI's will be slightly different when you upgrade, so there is a good chance that this will eliminate the error.

Sequences - Test Organzer: How to move more than 1 test case at a time
Hello,
I would like to be able to move multiple test cases within a sequence but I do not know how. If I highlight multiple rows and select Move Test Case only 1 of the rows will move. This is fine if your test package only has a few transactions but if you have many it becomes very time consuming.
Does anyone know how to move more than one test case at a time within a sequence?

Actually I do not have any solution for that either. I am also only able to move the test cases one by one, which indeed can become very time consuming. There I have a small question to you: when I am in the web-based application to change the sequence of the test cases, everything goes really slow. Selecting the test package in the browser, going to change mode, selecting the test cases, creating a test sequence...it all takes time before I can continue. Is it the same with you? Else I will need to look at what is going wrong on our side.

In File to Idoc scenario even though you selected apply control record values from payload and you are not getting those correct values which you have provided in the mapping.
Also check the checkboxes Take sender from payload and Take receiver from payload along with the Apply control record values from payload checkbox

How to use a CTE in a CASE statement?

It is giving four fields but if i write select query in sqlquery field it is saying select node is not found....

Need to find out how much % of query completed from OEM
Need to find out how long will a query take to run or when I am running the query where can I check to see that X% of my query is complete.
Is that % shown on OEM --> Performance --> Top Activitity?Under OEM/GC of release 10g you won't be able to see how long the query will take neither how much % of a query are already finished.
I know that this functionality was given in the old release of the OEM (javas based GUI with ll the databases on the left side). I'm missing
that old functionality, too... -

Process: We have acheived this using the "Work Item Exits", Usng "AFTER_EXECUTION" Method.
Note: The Exit will be executed if "exit_cancelled" statement is present/used in the work item method. if not it is not taking to the exit code. I'm unable to find the reason for it. Florin can u please explain this point.

I can't find how to apply sound enhancements (EQ) for the podcasts now with iOS 6.0 update on any of my devices(iPhone 4s, iPhone Touch (4th Gen), iPad (3rd Gen). Most of the "Podcasts" I listen to are music content based and wanted to apply sound enhancements(EQ) like before when integrated with ipod function. Can you consider to "fix" this issue?
Many Thanks!OK Emanuel I found a solution! I dowloaded and installed "Denon Audio" app from the iTunes store & it works great! It has an EQ you can set curves on manually or use the (few) built in pre-sets. It is a player like the Music app that comes with the iPhone, etc. but restores the EQ functionality so we can adjust the audio of PODCASTS:-) Until Apple fixes this what I consider a bug I will be using the Denon app as my default music player!
