Since OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser which is xmlparserv2.jar.
i have read the following article which states that
OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser. The Oracle XML parser is fully JAXP 1.1 compatible and will serve the needs of applications which require JAXP functionality. This approach does not require the download, installation, and configuration of additional XML parsers.
The Oracle XML parser (xmlparserv2.jar) is configured to load as a system level library of OC4J through it's inclusion as an entry in the Class-Path entry of the oc4j.jar Manifest.mf file. This results in the Oracle XML parser being used for all common deployment and packaging situations. You are not permitted to modify the Manifest.mf file of oc4j.jar.
It must be noted that configuring OC4J to run with any additional XML parser or JDBC library is not a supported configuration. We do know customers who have managed to successfully replace the system level XML parser and the Oracle JDBC drivers that ship with the product, but we do not support this type of configuration due to the possibility of unexpected system behavior and system errors that might occur from replacing the tested and certified libraries.
If you absolutely must use an additional XML parser such as xerces, then you have to start OC4J such that the xerces.jar file is loaded at a level above the OC4J system classpath. This can be accomplished using the -Xbootclasspath flag of the JRE.
i have also run the following command
java -Xbootclasspath/a:d:\xerces\xerces.jar -jar oc4j.jar
but no success.
How could i utilize my jar's like xerces.jar and xalan.jar for parsing instead of OC4J in-built parser ?

I am trying to deploy a sample xform application to the Oracle Application Server (10.1.3). However, I encountered the class loader issue that is similar to your stuation. I tried all the three solutions but the application is still use the Oracle xml paser class. I am wondering if you have any insight about this?

How to create new OC4J instance in AS 10.1.3 with BC4J- and ADF-Libraries

I have done all the steps mentioned in this thread:
How to create new OC4J instance in AS 10.1.3
However, the new created OC4J instance obviously misses some libraries. If I deploy my Application to this OC4J I get an internal error: Class not found: oracle.jbo.JboException.
The same Application runs well in the "home" Instance.
What is the trick, to create a new OC4J instance, which more or less behaves the same way as the "home" instances (and especially has all the same libraries)?

I encountered this last month. I definitely agree that it is a glaring omission to not have "Create Like" functionality when instantiating new containers. Here's my notes on the manual steps required after using createinstance to create the fresh container. Not too bad. I've been deploying ADF applications to the new container with no problems after this.

The default (home) OC4J container is pre-configured for ADF 10.1.3 applications; however, when $ORACLE_HOME/bin/createinstance is used to create additional containers, these containers are not configured automatically to host ADF 10.1.3 applications.
I followed these manual steps:
1. $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/server.xml defines three shared libraries that "install" the needed JARs for Oracle ADF applications in your application server instance (container). Note that "install" does not necessarily mean available to applications (see Step 2). is there any document about how to use JMX with OC4J? the intention is that I would like to create an application, using JMX to manage OC4J, such dynamiclly adding connection pool, create data source. potentially, restart server, application ...

EJB Stateless Session Bean how to recompile with "-deprecation" 10.1.2.0.2

I have a EJB SLSB and I can deploy it to OC4J 10.1.2.0.2. However upon deployment OC4J is telling me:

release, if the Oracle guys concentrated more on
getting something out quickly rather than providing a
reliable product.C'mon, the only reason I'm pushing this is the fact that from the (OTN) website it looks like 10.1.3 has been around for years, whereas the truth is that the actual production date is unknown. What I am experiencing around me is Oracle loosing credibility regarding Java/J2EE with their direct competitors already having J2EE 1.4 support. The project I'm currently involved in was forced to use 10.1.2.0.2 since it is the last production release of the Oracle Application Server. This is J2EE 1.3 technology which is fairly old stuff.
And... yes I'm amongst other things a developer and well aware of the challenges that come with creating software. Although in our projects we like to keep a relatively clear scope and not cramp as much features as possible in a version, just to satisfy the checklists :-)

Can I use DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule with OC4J/OAS 10.1.3.0 ?

I am implementing security as described in Frank's docs :

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 and OC4J 10.1.3.0 / OAS 10.1.3.0.
The question is :
1) Will DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule work with OC4J/OAS 10.1.3.0 ?
2) The docs above ONLY describe about deploying to OC4J Stand Alone, what about deploying to OAS 10.1.3.0 (Red Hat Linux) ??

I am using DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule that is included in jazncore.jar.
I have overridden the original jazncore.jar in <oracle_home>\j2ee\home of my OAS 10.1.3.0 with jazncore.jar that comes with JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.
When I deploy to OAS with its enterprise manager, I have done this :
- Select Security Provider, Security Provider = Custom
Add Login Module, JAAS Login Module Class = oracle.security.jazn.login.module.db.DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule
- When I press Deploy, I get this error message :

Using Maven with OC4J libraries?

Well its my turn for a return question to the fine folks on this forum.
Is anyone out there using Maven with OC4J? I've been using it lately, but there's one area that I'd like to see ideas on how to best approach.
When developing Ant scripts to build projects, I typically create a j2ee.classpath PATH and add to it various jar files from the OC4J distribution.

However in Maven, I'm not sure how to best approach this with the OC4J JAR files since several of them have declared dependencies in their META-INF/MANIFEST.MF Class-Path fields -- so they aren't really standalone JAR files. 
Take a look at the j2ee/home/admin_client.jar file and its manifest.mf:

You can use iPhoto Library Manager to copy that album to one library so that all of the files will be in one library to use.
with iPLM you can split libraries up by roll or album or both. Jusgt figure out which library which albums will belong to.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Replace Orion.jar with Oc4j.jar, Changing the container

I'll be really appreciate any help.
My application( web-based application based on Forms6i) is working fine with Orion.jar. I would like to upgrade this structure to Oracle9iDS using Oc4j.jar instead of orion. I have a main.jsp ( http://www.bmhub.com) file that after getting username/password, opens another window to show the main menu including all options(forms6i).With "Orion.jar" it works fine, I get message "Login ok" and so on.
I installed Oracle9iDS and I changed application.xml in "C:\oracle\Forms9i\j2ee\Oracle9iDS\config". After starting startinst.bat ( contains oc4j.jar), I entered username/password but I get message that "some fileds are blanks" and "Login Failed". when I changed the oc4j.jar to orion.jar, the sartinst.bat disappeared after 1 second.
Also I tried to replace most of the files in "C:\oracle\Forms9i\j2ee\Oracle9iDS\config" with my old configuration ( Orion configuration), the startinst with orion.jar works fine and I'm able to enter username/password. but nothing more. the forms9i dosent work anymore.(error HTTP 500).
Could you please help me?

It seems getParameter() just returns null. I use it in my User.java file to login from main.jsp page.

How to manually patch oc4j to run bc4j

A patch has been released to enable bc4j components to run with oc4j. This patch only works on windows, how do I patch oc4j running on linux?
I've copied the bc4j jars from jdeveloper 9i to oc4j/lib. But the patch also mentions that the jsp compiler needs to be patched. How do i do this?

If you manually replace components used by the server software you are going to almost certainly break things especially Server.app (for administration) and in this case you would also almost certainly break Profile Manager and the Wiki server.
If you want to use Apple's server software then you have no real choice but like the rest of us to wait for Apple to include any upgrades.
As examples the bootpd and racoon software and even the ntp client included by Apple are not merely different versions compared to the latest stable releases but are actually heavily customised by Apple and behave significantly differently. As far as I am aware the Apache used by Apple is pretty standard and the main difference is the name and locations of files Appe uses, i.e. not only do Apple not use the standard httpd.conf file and location but the process of installing SSL certificates is very different to a standard Apache system.
It is possible to upgrade some components e.g. perl with minimal risk of break Apple services, it is also possible to install separate copies of items like Apache and run them separately to Apple's. However such a separate install of Apache would not serve Profile Manager up for you.

How to query "live" OC4J status or activity

I have stumbled on a problem with OC4J server going down, at least not responding within 5 minutes via http/mod_oc4j. But dcmctl shows status "up" and log files (.../j2ee/OC4J_*/log/OC4J_default_island/.log) gives nothing to go on.
Other than asking opmn/dcm about oc4j servers or manually looking through heaps of log ouput, how can we check the health on individual OC4J's (and perhaps underlying java vm)?

BEST SOLUTION:
Use Apache HTTPD that comes with the SOA Suite distribution. This includes a mod_oc4j which calls the OC4J installation.

How to work with 360 video?

I am new to AE and am trying to work with a 360 equirectangular video I shot with a Freedom 360 and 6 go pros.
Are there any tutorials on how to work with 360 spherical videos? Do I need to download additional plugins?

Of course, the image needs to be big for this, but the plugin you would use is CC Sphere.
Drop your movie into a composition and apply CC Sphere to the video.
Then set the Render option in the effect to "Inside".
Under Shading set Ambient to 100% and Diffuse to 0%.
Then scale inside the effect until the image fills the screen.
Then you'll be able to use the Rotate Y controls in CC Sphere to spin around inside your video!
You can also add Optics Compensation and Reverse the Lens Distortion to straighten out your image.

I am having much trouble with the new reminders in IOS7 and how it interacts with Outlook Exchange. Many features lost in the new version.

When I downloaded IOS7, I found that the reminders/task app and how it interacts with Outlook Exchange is much more difficult to use. Some of the issues that I am having are...
1. Trying to edit my task on my phone is not possible, if the notes are lengthy. When you click on the text to edit data near the top, it will scroll to the bottom and not allow you to edit the text because you cant see it.
2. Now all of my task are in one long list. I can not move from day to day like we could in previous version IOS6
3. When I do edit a short task reminder and click done, it crashes and completly goes away. It does save the edit though
4. You can only add task at the bottom of each days reminders. This is very inconvient and much more difficult than IOS6
5. There is a major delay or latency when interacting inside of reminders in this version. Much more than IOS6. It is very unstable and quirky.
I have never seen Apple take a step back with a product until now. I am a huge Apple fan and always will be, so I am hoping they make enhancements to fix these issue. It is a big time prodcutivity killer.

Some power supplies or designed so that if there is a short or overload they shut them selfs off and some will not turn back on. Some have a relay that will click back on and work, some you have to cycle the power switch. Those that won't come back on will have to be replaced. I'm not saying that yours is that type as I have no way of telling. But if you have a friend who will loan you a good power supply you might try it. As someone else said just turning off the power will not darn all the power from some motherboards. To test this turn off your power supply than turn on the computer with the start botton. Mine will flash the lights and fans will start to spin than die. So every time you turn off computer to work on it. After turning off PSU hit the start botton to drian any power left in it before working on it. Also do this after unplugging it just to make sure.
