How to dynamically define EJB-QL

hi,
Is there a way possible that i can define an Entity bean which can be mapped to a database table on runtime, and its EJB-QL can also be set on runtime?
I created a class which returns a list of values from the database based on the query passed to it (if u have worked with oracle forms then you would understand it better if not then u can understand it better too :D)
I want to accomplish the same thorugh EJB, is it possible?

Hi!
This would imply that it would be possible to write one entity bean and use it
(in best case) for every database table I have... hey, that would be cool =)
But I don't think so, as you have to write a deployment descriptor and map the
entity bean to the table there (and a lot more like primery key field, relations if
needed, ...).

  • How to dynamically define a file name and its path in a web application

    Hi, I want to create a simple web application that reads from an XML file and displays the data back to the user. The xml file is created independent of my application on the same machine that the Application Server runs. How can I define my xml file name and/or path to be independent of my code and not hard-coded in my application?

    By an external configurationfile? That can be a propertiesfile, a xml file, an ini file, a plain vanilla txt file, etcetera.

  • Defining ejb references to other servers

    Hello,
    I'm using ejbs in a distributed environment and I haven't found any info on how to define bean references
    between servers on deploy.
    My problem is as follows:
    Session bean A needs to use session bean B which is located on another server.
    A doesn't know the location of server for B nor the fact that B even is on different server.
    A asks B from the local jndi environment using the name ejb/B.
    How can I define on deploy that the location of B is actually sess_iiop://serverB.com:port:sid/context/B?
    Is it somehow possible to define this mapping in the deployment descriptors?
    null

    Hi,
    The <ejb-ref> element is optional, you could use the actual JNDI name instead.
    The advantage with using <ejb-ref> is that, if you deploy the bean on another server, probably with a different JNDI name,
    your code can still continue using the same name as defined by <ejb-ref-name>.
    Internally, the <ejb-ref-name> will be mapped to the actual JNDI location, maybe using symbolic links.

  • KM Search: How can I define a query for the user who currently logged on?

    Hello,
    I want to use the KM Search iView to display all documents from the currently logged on user in a certain sort order. The result should be some kind of report for the user...
    In the search option I can define a default sort order. And I can also define it for a special user with cm_modifiedby(value=username)
    But how can I define the predefined property value generically for the current user?
    I tried to insert following values in the parameter Predefined Properties of the search option:
    Predefined Properties (csv): cm_modifiedby(value=<user.id>)
    Predefined Properties (csv): cm_modifiedby(value=%user.id%) -> like in the predefined properties
    Predefined Properties (csv): cm_modifiedby(value=$sap_user) -> like in the xml forms builder
    But non of these 3 parameters worked. Has anybody an idea what the right variable is?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards
    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,
    1. First of all you need to use "<User.UserID>" to get the currently logged on user.
    2. You need to create an AppIntegrator iView (so based on com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Generic) in order to be able to use this dynamical parameter. The parameter "URL template" should look like:
    <Request.Protocol>://<Request.Server>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.basicsearch?layoutSetMode=exclusive&ResourceListType=com.sapportals.wcm.SearchResultList&SearchType=quick&rndLayoutSet=SearchResultLayoutSet&SearchCompsName=UISearchComponents&QueryString=*&SelectedCustomProps=cm_modifiedby(value=<User.UserID>)

  • How set dynamically created query in GridControl?

    How set dynamically created query in GridControl?
    Thank you

    If your dynamic query is based on an Entity object, then you can probably use RowSetInfo setQueryInfo method.
    The argument to this method is a 'Query' object. There are three flavours provided in the oracle.dacf.dataset
    package.
    oracle.dacf.dataset.QueryViewInfo
    defines an updateable SQL query based on a predefined BC4J View Object.
    oracle.dacf.dataset.QueryStatementInfo
    Creates a view object based on an arbitrary SQL statement.
    oracle.dacf.dataset.QueryInfo
    Creates a View Object from an Entity Object and additional SQL clauses. The View Object will have
    that Entity Object as its sole Entity Object base.
    If in your application you are able to specify the name of the entity, then you can use the QueryInfo method to define your
    query. Please try the following.
    SessionInfo si = ....
    void runDynamicQuery()
    RowSetInfo rsi = new RowSetInfo();
    AttributeInfo ai = new AttibuteInfo(..);
    ai.setName(..);
    rsi..addChild(ai);
    si.addChild( rsi)
    rsi.setQueryInfo( new QueryInfo( ...../* include entity name */ .... ));
    rsi.setName(....);
    rsi.open(true);
    grid.setDataItemName(...);
    Hope this helps,
    Sathish.

  • Problem with Dynamically accessing EJB Class objects in WL 7.0 SP1

    I am trying to build a component which has the ability to instantiate and execute
    an known EJB method on the fly.
    I have managed to build the component but when I try and execute it I get a ClassNotFoundException.
    I know that the EJB I am trying to invoke is deployed and available on the server,
    as I can see it in the console, I also seen to have been able to get the remote
    interface of the object, my problem occurs when I try and access the class object
    so I can perform a create on the object and then execute my method
    The code I have written is below:
    private Object getRemoteObject(Context pCtx, String pJNDIName, String pHomeBean)
    throws Exception {
         String homeCreate = "create";
         Class []homeCreateParam = { };
         Object []homeCreateParamValues = {};
    try {
    //This call seems to work and doesn't throw an exception
    Object home = pCtx.lookup(pJNDIName);
    //However this call throws a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
    Class homeBean = Class.forName(pHomeBean);
    Method homeCreateMethod = homeBean.getMethod(homeCreate,homeCreateParam);
    return homeCreateMethod.invoke(home, homeCreateParamValues);
    } catch (NamingException ne) {
    logStandardErrorMessage("The client was unable to lookup the EJBHome.
    Please make sure ");
    logStandardErrorMessage("that you have deployed the ejb with the JNDI
    name "+pJNDIName+" on the WebLogic server ");
    throw ne;
    } catch (Exception e) {
    logStandardErrorMessage(e.toString());
    throw e;
    Any advice would be really appreciated, I'm fast running out of ideas, I suspect
    it has something to do with the class loader but I'm not sure how to resolve it
    Regards
    Jo Corless

    Hello Joanne,
    Congratulations! I'm very happy that you've managed to fix your problem. It's
    always essential to understand how to package applications when deploying on BEA
    WebLogic. Usually, by throwing everything into an EAR file solves just about all
    the class loader problems. :-) Let us know if you have any further problems that
    we can assist you with.

    Thanks to everyone who gave me help!!!!
    The class loader was the culprit which is what I suspected all along.
    As soon
    as I put the 2 jar files I was using into an EAR file the problem went
    away!!!!!
    Thanks again

    Hello Joanne,
    As Mr. Woollen mentioned, I also believe it's a problem with the class
    loader.
    You need to be careful how you arrange your EJBs, because WebLogic has
    a specific
    method in which it loads classes in an EAR, JAR, and WAR file(s). Please
    refer
    to http://dev2dev.bea.com/articles/musser.jsp for more information about
    BEA WebLogic
    class loading mechanisms and caveats. Also, try printing out the various
    methods
    that are available on the object that was returned to you via reflection.
    For
    example, use the getMethods() method, which returns an array of Method
    objects
    that you can subsequently cycle through and print out the various method
    names.
    This way you can discover if the class found/returned to you is indeed
    the one
    you intend to locate.

    I believe the issue is the home interface class for this EJB is not
    available in the class loader which is doing the reflection.
    If you do:
    getClass().getClassLoader().loadClass(homeInterfaceClassName)
    I suspect it will fail. Reflection still requires that the class be
    loadable.

    Your code should look like
    Object home = pCtx.lookup(pJNDIName);
    Method homeCreateMethod =
    home.getMethod(homeCreate,homeCreateParam);
    return homeCreateMethod.invoke(home, homeCreateParamValues);

    Hi Ryan,
    I also wanted to mention that if you do a "header search" in this
    particular
    newsgroup
    with the search query as "reflection", you will see many previousmessages
    regarding
    reflection and EJBs. I believe you could learn a lot from thedifficulties
    that
    others have faced and solved.I tried that and although there was a number of similar cases noneof them
    actually
    seem to fix my issue. Thanks for the suggestion though
    Are the EJBs that you are trying to access accessible via your
    system
    classpath?
    Try to avoid having them accessible via the main system classpath,and
    only bundle
    them in your appropriate EJB jar files (contained in an EAR file,for
    example).Maybe I should have laid the problem out a little clearer.
    I have a number of EJB's bundled up in a JAR file which is hot deployedto
    the
    server. Within this first JAR file is an EJB (SSB) component that
    needs
    to
    be
    able to invoke a known method on another EJB. This second EJB may
    or
    may
    not be
    within the first JAR file but it also will be hot deployed.
    The component trying to invoke the method on the 2nd EJB has to
    be
    able to
    create
    an instance of the 2nd EJB without actually knowing anything bar
    a
    JNDI
    Name which
    is passed in at runtime.
    I can get as far as doing the
    Object home = pCtx.lookup(pJNDIName);
    This returned a class with the name
    "com.csc.edc.projects.allders.httppostoffice.postman.PostmanBean_mp8qy2_Home
    Impl_WLStub"
    My problem seems to occur when I try and invoke the create method
    Method homeCreate = home.getClass().getMethod("create", new Class[0]);
    My code throws a java.lang.NoSuchMethodException at this point so
    I
    am
    unable
    to progress to the next step of :
    Object bean = homeCreate.invoke(home, null);
    So I can return the instantiated bean back to the calling client.
    Why am I getting the NoSuchMethodException, is is because I am gettinga
    stub
    back rather than the home interface and if so how do I get the truehome
    interface
    from the bean
    Thanks in advance

  • How to dynamically determine Receivers within BPM

    I’m trying to design a way to determine my receivers within my BPM process during runtime.   My Scenario is as follows:
    SAP IDOC
        V
      XI
                 XI uses JAVA Mapping MT1 to determine vendors and if customer receives PIDX
                             JAVA Mapping MT2 to creates the PIDX output file if required
      V
    SENDs to required Vendor (PIDX if required otherwise email)
    My problem is how to dynamically determine the appropriate receiving vendor for my PIDX.
    I can not use the condition editor on the standard Receiver Determination because the output message (PIDX) doesn't have specific enough information to determine the vendor.
    Other than the customer number there are no other values and we don't want to use customer number because each vendor can have multiple customer numbers (hundreds).
    I've tried various attempts but none seem to work.  This could also be because I have limited knowledge of BPMs and this is my first complex development.  Below are the different attempts I've made at dynamically determining the receiver.  Any input would be appreciated.
    Receiver Scenario 1
      I developed an interface mapping with MT1 as input and the SAP Receiver Determination as output.  The problem is for me to use this, the interface mapping had to reference the PIDX output (MT2 instead of MT1) which has no data that I can use to determine the receiver.
    Receiver Scenario 2
    I added a receiver step right before my send step and used the receiver list.  This appears to send the PIDX to everyone in the list and there is no way to evaluate or eliminate a name from the list.
    Receiver Scenario 3
    I created a context object in the Integration Builder and assigned it to a field in MT1.  I then added a switch step with a branch for each vendor.  Within each specific branch there is a Send step that has the context object name I created in the "Send Context" field.  However, on the configuration side I’m unable to access the context object which I created on the design side.  Whenever I open the condition editor and select the radiobutton for "Context Object" the list  does not include the context object I created in the Integration Builder.

    Hi,
    Try using the enhaced receiver determination concept.
    Maybe based on certain field values you can write a UDF which calculates the receiver.
