How to encapsulate RMI in Http request ?

Hello,
I have an java applet that uses java RMI technology to communicate with the server. I would like to modify this architecture a little. Is it possible to wrappe RMI invocation in http web request. If yes how to do that ? Did you have samples of code ?

RMI uses a specialised protocol which is more complex than it appears at first. It might be possible to perform RMI calls use a HTTP transport, but you would lose most of the value of using HTTP.
There are libraries which allow you to turn method calls into HTTP Web Service request, like RMI does, but no RMI is used.

It seems you go on your way of http basic programming where you need handle the request of info, get, etc. But here you have WDA framework, so you don't need do as the basic ways of http programming. SICF can handle the activated WDA applications, maybe you can call them SERVICES.
I suggest you go through WDA architecture, tutorials, ... and at last you can find a full demo 'LORD_MAINTAIN_COMP' by SE80.

How to send PUT, DELETE HTTP request in HttpURLConnection ?

I want to know that is it possible to send PUT, DELETE request (practically) through java.net.httpURLConnection to http based URL. I have read so many articles describing that how to send GET, POST, TRACE, OPTIONS request but still not finding any sample code which successfully perform PUT and DELETE request. Can any one give idea regarding that?

ThanksIt's technically possible I am sure but 100% impractical because almost nobody uses an HTTP server for that purpose. I don't know what HTTP servers actually implement PUT and DELETE but you can be sure even in those that do the behaviour is off by default.
If you need to do PUT/DELETE sort of operations you should be using FTP.

How to display response of http request as a web page in ABAP?

In ABAP, we can use class <b>cl_http_client</b> to send a http requst and then got the response data as a XSTRING variable. Usually, the response data is the html source of a web page. How to display this web page within dynpro?
I found we can use class <b>cl_gui_html_viewer</b> to display the web page of a URL or data in SAP web respository. Is there any way of using it to load response data in cl_http_client and display that web page?

1. use http_client->response->get_cdata( ).
to get the response data in string format instead of xstring format.
2. use FM CONVERT_STRING_TO_TABLE to covert the string to table of type W3HTML
3. use method
data: l_doc_url(255) type c.
      call method html_control->load_data
                  exporting
                     type         = 'text'
                     subtype      = 'html'
                  importing
                     assigned_url = l_doc_url
                  changing
                     data_table   = html_table.
call method html_control->show_data
                  exporting

How to construct a faces request from a http request?

I wonder how FacesServlet.service determines whether it should be calling LifecycleImpl.execute in oppose to calling LifecycleImpl.render?
Basically, I'm trying to construct a http request that would go through the decode method of my UIComponent. However, it seems that my request has always been treated as a non-faces request, where it goes to the render face directly.
Does anyone know how do I need to construct my http request so that it'll be recgonized as a faces request?
Anyone knows where i can download the source code for FacesServlet?

Sorry, are you saying that FacesServlet ALWAYS call execute before render even if it's the first request?
What I experienced is that for the first request, execute isn't called, and it goes directly to render.
And if I use the html form submit on the 2nd request, it does go to execute, then render.
However, if i construct another http request, it'll act like a first request, where it doesn't go through the execute, but striaght to render.
This is what I set in web.xml:

How can I tell if the localhost server is configured to accept https requests? Or is that unnecessary on a localhost server?

Well, for one, by definition, localhost can only ever be accessed from the machine itself. It doesn't get any more secure than that.
However, just because you're hitting the site on localhost that doesn't mean that Apache isn't also listening for connections on other IP addresses. In fact, by default, Apache will listen on all IP addresses configured on the machine.
Therefore you might want to look a little deeper.
You can see from the phpMyAdmin output that Apache is configured to support HTTPS, but that only tells you whether apache knows how to speak HTTPS, not whether the current connection/request is using HTTPS.
The shortest, simplest answer to your question is to try. If you can hit https://localhost/ then, yes, Apache is listening and responding to HTTPS requests. If it doesn't respond then it isn't.
Or dig through the configuration files, but I'm guessing if you knew how to do that, you wouldn't be asking the question.

How to send a document in net.HTTP.request as a POST variable?

I have read and reread the doc on net.HTTP.request, and it says I can pass an argument of oRequest, but I have not succeeded at passing in the current document, which is what I want to do.
I've tried app.activeDocs[0], or encoding that to a string, but though it makes the call without error, nothing is sent.
Should oRequest be simply a document, or a variable made up of name-value pairs? How do we send multiple parameters to a POST otherwise?
I've succeeded fine with calling using GET, but when I tried to pass the document as a GET variable, I got nothing either.
I'm sending to a LiveCycle REST end point so either POST or GET is fine.

POSTing the current document is straightforward *provided* your script is running outside the document context (i.e. in the console or a folder-level script). There's no access from doc-level scripts for obvious reasons.
For example, putting this in the JS console will POST the current file to a URL:

Your problem with talking to a vanilla webservice is that you cannot send the RFC1867 delimeters (i.e. form a "multipart/form-data" request) as the ReadStream object doesn't have a concatenation method in the Acrobat JSAPI. That's also how you would usually prepend other form fields, but if you're careful with your server-side coding you can send those as GET parameters in cURL. Normally you'd be polite and pass a Context-Type header in the aHeaders array - it won't matter to the transmission process but will allow your webservice to predict what the heck it's been sent.
Your webservice will then have to read the raw data. In PHP for example, you won't get anything in the $_FILES global but you can grab the PDF by reading everything from the input buffer, with the line:
$pdf = file_get_contents("php://input");
If that line was in the server script that the above JS code was aimed at, the variable $pdf will contain an exact binary copy of the currently-open document.

How to Implement HTTP Request Status Code Processing

I actually have two questions. First, I wondering how to add multiple status code processing to an http request. Secondly, I was wondering how to go about using alternate http requests to different servers in case the primary server is down. What kind of parameter would the program use to determine that the server is unavailable and switch to another server??

I think your issue comes form the fact that you are not casting URLConnection to HttpURLConnection.
Doing the cast would allow you to use getResponseCode() - among other methods - and test for a response different than 200.

How to make an HTTP request via SSL

Hi,
I´m using an instance of the class CL_HTTP_CLIENT to make an HTTP request to a https server. as long as it requires an SSL authentication, it returns an ICM_HTTP_SSL_ERROR error message.
How do I tell my program to ask for user´s certificate, and use it in the http request?
I´m supossed to have hundreds of users online running this application (it´s over SRM 5.0). How can I reach this?

I meant to create a new client SSL PSE. By default in a new Netweaver abap system, you have 3 of them : ANONYM, DFAULT and WSSE.

It seems that you want a different certificate per user. These client certificates in STRUST are designes to identify a SAP abap system, not human users. If you have 1000 users, you will not create 1000 certificates in STRUST !
Usually, you use only 2 entries here, one for anonymous HTTPS access and one authenticated HTTPS access. It is unusual to have several different identities for the same abap server. But it might be possible : for exemple, one identity on the intranet and an other one on the Internet.

You still seem to make the confusion between server client certificates and users client certificates.
a users client certificate is stored in the user's PC (or smartcard) and is used for HTTPS connections from the user's browser to the SSL server, not for an HTTPS connection from the ABAP server to another server.
