How to enter a 24 digit number into a mysql db
hi,
i want enter a 24 digit number into a mysql db as a mathematically manipulatable value.
when i configure the field as a bigint(24) it takes it as bigint(20)
when i keep it as bigint and parsing a double value from my application
it gives data truncation exception for the particular field.
the whole process worked well when i change the field type to varchar(24),
what i want is to enter 24 digit number into db as a mathematically manipulatable value.
if anyone can assist me, pls reply,
thanks,
dushi
you should ask in a mysql-forum. or at least in JDBC-forum here at sun-forums
you could save it as varchar and parse it when selecting it into bigint in java and make your calculations...

Please re-enter the 10 digit number message HH2
Earlier today I switched from a family plan over to a pre-paid monthly plan. Now, when calling in an extended network area I get a message that says, "Please re-enter the ten digit number..." anytime I try to call anyone. Re-entering the ten digit number by hand does nothing, the message just repeats itself.
I've read other posts that theorize that this has something to do with usage controls. I tried to sign into myverizonwireless but apparently my account no longer exists, and it doesn't allow me to register for a new account either.
DanI'm having the same problem, which just started today, and it's been okay since we've been on vacation. The new prepaid monthly plan just started up again, so what is the problem?

An update from Apple appeared on my iPhone so I downloaded it, it was an IOS update. The screen said to swipe to open, then enter a 4 digit number, which I did then it went to a screen asking for my network info which I entered (except I guessed at the security as being "WPA2", I have not idea, I entered my password and now the only screen that will appear is one stating it is Joining my stated Network??? but nothing is happening and I can't use any of my iPhone features at all? Help
Go back to the previous page. If there's no available wireless networks listed except "Other" which is manually putting the wireless network information, see if you have "activate using cellular" or "connect to iTunes" option.

How to insert an array of number into access database?
How can I insert an array of numbers(double) into an access database and later read them back to an array I labview. I don't have the Database Connectivity toolset. I would prefer using the LABSQL or other free solution. Any idea on how to solve this. I have tried LABSQL and SQL commands, but when I do that I have to convert the number to a string and then make a SQL-command string. Is there a way where I don't have to convert the number into a string?
Hello,
I am not familiar with LABSQL and we do not do any support on that particular product. However I still want to give you some information on how to proceed. You can either store the array to binary format and by doing this you can save an entire array to one single element of the database. The other alternative is of course to save one-to-one in other words one element of the array in one element in the database.
More info can be found here:

Have you checked MSDN for information regarding this? You might be able to find useful SQL code there to use.

How do i convert a plain number into hh:mm:ss
Below is a part of my spreadsheet i am setting up for travelling.
The driving time number is derived from a "IF" calculation that divides the "Distance" by a number depending upon the selection in the "Road" column (Data validation list)
The calculation is corect i would just like to know how to format the "6.9125" to show 6:54:45. I have a desktop calculator that will convert plain numbers into hh-mm-ss would just like to do this in my spreadsheet.
This is the formula that the 6.9125 is derived from
=IF([@ROAD]="Bitumen",[@DISTANCE]/80,IF([@ROAD]="Dirt",[@DISTANCE]/50,IF([@ROAD]="Track",[@DISTANCE]/30,IF([@ROAD]="4WD",[@DISTANCE]/15,0))))
Thanks in advance for the help
Regards
Andrew
DISTANCE
ROAD
DRIVING TIME
553
Bitumen
6.9125
0
It is better to temporarily fail with a plan that will ultimately succeed than to temporarily succeed with a plan that must ultimately failChange the formula to
=IF([@ROAD]="Bitumen",[@DISTANCE]/80,IF([@ROAD]="Dirt",[@DISTANCE]/50,IF([@ROAD]="Track",[@DISTANCE]/30,IF([@ROAD]="4WD",[@DISTANCE]/15,0))))/24
and format the cell with the formula with the custom format h:mm:ss, or if it is possible that driving times are over 24 hours, use [h]:mm:ss

How to enter a new serial number
Ok I did the wrong thing. But now trying to fix it.
I had an urgent document to send off today but pages wouldn't save as the trial ran out. Today.
To get around this I used a workmates serial as a temp fix.
I've now bought iWork so I now have my own legal serial.
Just can't work out how to use it.
Tried moving the iWork folder in the applications folder to the trash.
Then re-installed. Still doesn't start as a trial so I can use the serial.
How do I now use my legal serial number?Hello
Trash the file:
<bootVolume>:Library:Preferences:com.apple.iWork08.plist
empty the trash
then run any application of the iWork's package.

How to extract person details (phone number) into a Sharepoint list
Hello. I'm trying to build a SharePoint rota via an accumulation of lists for separate teams. Among the columns in each list are Person and Phone Number. I can pull in the person details via lookup (person or group) but how can I directly extract and
display that person's phone number in the Phone Number column?
Any help would be much appreciated.

First thanks for reading this..... I have to add the patient name and page number as a footer to hundreds of scanned documents. The person scanning can call each file the patient last name. So file is named Smith. Any way I can have it automatically place each these files Smith 1 Smith 2 Smith 3 on each page? Then set it up to have it do all the files at once? Thanks again!

How to generate a unique random number in a MySQL db
I'm creating a volunteer and also a separate vendor application form for an airshow. The volunteer and vendor info is stored in separate tables in a MySQL db, one row per volunteer or vendor. There will be about 100 volunteers and 50 vendors. When the application is submitted it should immediately be printed by the applicant, then signed and mailed in. This past year we had problems with some people who didn't immediately print their application so I'd like to still give them the option to immediately print but also send them an e-mail with a link to their specific row in the MySQL db. I have an autoincrement field as the primary key for each table, but I think sending this key to the applicant in an e-mail would be too easy for them to guess another id and access other people's info.
I'm thinking I should add a column to each table which would contain a unique random number and I would then send this key in the e-mail to the applicant. So, can anyone suggest a simple way to do this or suggest a better way of giving the applicant a way to access their own application and no-one elses after they have submitted their form?
Thanks all.
Tony BabbThanks so much, that was very helpful. I added the code you suggested to create and display the random number - I called it "vollink" and that worked fine. Then I added the hidden field toward the bottom of the form - it shows at line 311 when I do a "View Source in Int Explorer and then tried adding the code to add it to the table and when I tested it failed with "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 1" . The test version of the page is here www.hollisterairshow.com/volunteerapp2.php . The changes I made to add it to the table is shown below , I must be missing something blindingly obvious, if you could suggest a fix I'd really appreciate it. I did add the field to the MySQL table also.
Thanks again
Tony

How to get input from keyboard scanner into an array
This is probably a very basic question but I'm very new to java..
My task is to reverse a string of five digits which have been entered using keyboard scanner.
E.g. - Entered number - 45896
Output - 69854
I used the StringBuffer(inputString).reverse() command for this, but i need a more basic method to do this.
I thought of defining an array of 5
int[] array = new int [5];
and then using,
Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in);
to enter the numbers. But I can't figure out how to get the five input numbers into the array.
If I can do this I can print the array in reverse order to get my result.
Any other simple method is also welcome.Hey thanks for the quick reply,
But how can I assign the whole five digit number into the array at once without asking to enter numbers separately?
E.g. - if entered number is 65789
Assign digits into positions,
anArray [0] = 6;
anArray [1] = 5;
anArray [2] = 7;
anArray [3] = 8;
anArray [4] = 9;
I'm really sorry but I am very new to the whole subject. -
Texting problem: Please re-send using a valid 10-digit number
I've been having problems texting ever since I've upgraded to the latest firmware. When I try to text a person from my contacts, I get a text right back from 1 (121)611-611 : Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code.
I KNOW my contacts have 10 digits. I've double and triple checked that. The only way I can text is by going into the text window, open a new text, enter the 10 digit number and then write the message. It goes through fine. It even converts the 10 digit number to my contacts name when I do it like that and it sends.
I also have this issue when I reply to texts! I try to reply but it doesn't go through.
Has anyone experienced this and/or know how to fix this? I've tried a Restore, but it keeps happening.I'm not sure about your issues with Safari and such.
On GSM-based phones, like the iPhone, you can store and use phone numbers in the international format. eg. +12025551212, +61411123456. That's with the + sign. The network should realise it is in the international format and handle it without a problem. Storing numbers this way allows people to travel to other countries and still make calls to people from the address book and not worry about the local international access code.
Usually SMS messages are received with this form. Try sending an SMS using a number in this form.
