How to envelope distort a linked file ?

in the perspective grid command. I am able to create rectangles, but is there a way in which I can place a linked file in the perspective grid. if not then how to align the linked file to a rectangle placed in perspective grid

Manish,
What happens if you create/fit a nostroke/nofill rectangle on top of your linked image, then Group them and try again?
You may ClickDrag between opposite corners with the Rectangle Tool (Smart Guides are your friends).

  • How to use a data link file (UDL)

    Hi,
several times I developed applications using Crystal Reports 2008 which used a data base on my development PC and when I deployed them on a production server I had the problem to change the Data Source Location to reflect the new Server name and SQL Server Instance. Moreover, this had to be done on the server, because CR 2008 check the new data source location when you change it, and because I was not connected to the server I couldn't do it on my development pc.
I thought that the data link file was the solution to this problem, meaning that CR2008 could use a data link file (UDL file) as a data source location, so when deploying the reports on the server I had only to point the data link file to the new server instance.
With my surprise, I have seen that when using a data link file to define the data source in CR 2008, it copies the definition found in it, instead of using it at run time. SO when I deploy the reports on the server I still have the same problem to change the data source location for all the reports.
Perhaps I didn't understand the data link file use. So, how do I solve the problem of using a data source location that can be valid when deploying the reports on a server?
    Thanks

  • IDCS2 Alt-DoubleClick on a linked file

I'm trying to find out what action is performed when the user alt-doubleclicks on an image within a document.
This user action performs some sort of "Edit Original" command, but nothing is shown when I trace commands and action IDs and it's not kEditOriginalSelectionActionID or kEditOriginalActionID.
Ultimately, I need to intercept this action with an IActionFilter to ensure that the Hi-Res version of the image is always opened.
Any ideas on how to intercept this?
Also, any ideas on how to find out which Linked File is selected in the Links panel when a kEditOriginalActionID action is performed?
I had hoped to be able to get an ILinkItemSuite created from the ActiveContext in my action component, but no joy.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Have a nice week-end. :-)
    Jackeen

Hi Jackeen,<br /> The reason you aren't seeing any commands in the trace is that the path to "EditOriginal" is different for alt-doubleclick than for menu item selection. Unfortunately, for the doubleclick scenario, there isn't any notification sent out that this is what InDesign is doing. ID basically handles the system event (button/mouse clicks) then delegates based on the selection. So, intercepting with IActionFilter isn't going to be possible since the action manager is never involved.<br /><br />You may be able to try an EventHandler to catch this particular event (alt-doubleclick) and only process if the current selection is an image item.<br /><br />AS for getting the linked file, you can try:<br /><br />InterfacePtr<ILinkItemSuite> iLinkItemSuite(static_cast<ILinkItemSuite*> (Utils<ISelectionUtils>()->QuerySuite(IID_ILINKITEMSUITE)));<br />K2::scoped_ptr<UIDList> dataLinkUIDList(iLinkItemSuite->CreateItemsDataLinkUIDList());<br /><br />This should get you a UIDList of the selected datalinks or an empty list if there is nothing selected.<br /><br />Hope this helps.<br /><br />Best regards,<br /><br />Art

  • How Can I Attach and Link an XML file to a 3D Model in a PDF?

How Can I Attach and Link an XML file to a 3D Model in a PDF?
What I am trying to do is find out how to have a 3D model and a parts list linked to it within the PDF file.  I would also like to be able to add to the parts list if at all possible once the pdf has been created.  A template to create future PDF's with the 3D model and list might also be useful.
I am not entirely sure if this is all possible within a PDF file, but I have viewed a PDF (Adidas Trainer) example which has a Excel file attached to it which links to the 3D model.  I have also had a look at partner products such as Lattice, Tetra4D, Anark, which can do animations and all sorts, but frankly it seems a bit overkill for what I am looking to do.
Please, any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

I wrote about it while ago, let me paste the whole thing.
    This example has simple
buttons which upon click go to new sites and in the same time
    place record in form
of *.SOL file on user drive. That record is read when you hit
    the next button and
based on that the button will be selected as the one last
    clicked.
You could use the very same thing just instead of suppressing
    button simply gotoAndPlay frame
to continue the part you need.

  • How can I upload an audio file and link a page on my webiste to it?

I host a radio show weekly, have recorded broadcasts in MP3, want to host them on itunes and have a link from my website for visitors to listen to. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Could I ask you to read my 'get you started' page on podcasting, which should answer most of your questions.

As to your website, which is a separate matter from iTunes, you can provide embedded players - these pages gives you some information:

The CHM output (accreditation.chm) is stored in a parent directory, and the webhelp output (index.htm) is stored in a child directory.

Open the usual Link dialog and enter the relative path from where the CHM will be installed to where the webhelp will be installed.

  • How can I create a link to download a file in Captivate?

So, in my Captivate file, I want people to be able to download an XML file to their machine.  If I create a hyperlink to "open a file", then when a user clicks on it, captivate attempts to open the xml file in a browser window instead of downloading it.  I can't figure out how to use the download attribute for an href in captivate and I'm not sure if javascript to do this would execute properfly.  Anybody know the best way to accomplish a force download of a file from a captivate presentation (Captivate 6)?
    TIA.

If you want to really do this so that it is consistent for all browsers, you'll need to implement this at the server level.  I did this with the Dynamic PDF Export Widget.  Typically, a PDF will be displayed in the browser, but I added the ability to download it instead.  It does require a PHP file (or some other server side script).  In the PHP file, you'll want to set the response header for Content-Disposition to "attachment"... that's the key.
The elbow grease part has to do with managing how the browser handles the link.  You'll want the Captivate hyperlink to open a new window so that the student does not navigate away from your course in the current window.  But since you are opening a PHP file, you can inject javascript into the document of the new window/tab to close itself.  The download will still continue eventhough the window/tab was programmatically closed.  However, most modern browsers will automatically close the window/tab for you when downloading a file.  If you want to see an example of a PHP file that implements this, go ahead and download the trial version of the Dynamic PDF Export widget.  You'll see the create.php file in the zip package.
    http://captivatedev.com/2012/07/25/adobe-captivate-6-x-widget-dynamic-pdf-export/
If you want to go simple as TLC Media Design suggested, just zip it and let your students unzip the xml file, or just rename the xml file with a .zip extension and tell them to rename the file back to .xml after downloading.

  • How to make the images show up on a linked file in Muse?

I am wondering how to get my images to show up on the linked files in Muse.  Basically, in Muse, I have a page that links to other pages I designed in Dreamweaver.  I put the images in the image folder and when I upload the site, the page links to the Dreamweaver page ok but the images are missing.  This is a vital part of the site.  Any suggestions?

If you made the pages with Dreamweaver then they should be on your system some place and you could make a "dreamweaver" folder inside your Muse site and upload the pages to that folder using the upload files option... see this thread talks about sound files but almost any file can be imported to muse
I need a recommendation for a slick way to embed audio
    Another option is to link across to an online resource using the built in muse html editor but that has pit falls because once you link yourself outside the site you also lose some control of the content;
For an example of this have a look at an old demo page I made http://chec-garry2.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
When you click on the Brahminy Kite bird you are looking at what used to be called an Iframe but the problem of control is highlighted when you click the Blue Wren and sometimes get pop up adds… I could import the Blue Wren page into my Muse site to fix this issue and in your case that’s a good option but I didn’t because I don’t have copyright over that pages contents and didn’t want to steal someone else’s work.
p.s. if you have got a demo of the  website/ pages online someplace that would help us see your problem.

  • How do you make a link in a .pdf file? (Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional)

    Dear Adobe Acrobat Forum,
I would like to add a link to my .pdf file.
Once clicked on, I would like the link to send the user to another place in the same .pdf file
or open a separate .pdf file.
I've tried to resolve this on my own by going to both Acrobat help section and the InDesign help section as well as Googling "Acrobat 8 link" or something similar.......but to no avail.
So, can you please tell me how I can add a link to a .pdf file?
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.
I have been creating .pdf files using the File > Export feature in Adobe InDesign CS3 (for the Mac).
    Thanks!

Have you tried in Acrobat 8 to:
    Choose Link tool.
Then choose as shown on as on this Graphic
Then when clicking next you should be greeted with this:
Choose open a file or open a weblink depending upon what you want to do.
You try some of the other choices. once you select what to do save as a copy and try. If This one doesn't work try some of the other choices in the first graphic. other panes will open up similar to second graphic except there will be other choices.

I know nothing about “EndNote”, but allow me to give you some general advice. Your first, commented-out, line (“--section to wait for window to pop up”) indicates that you need to change the basic way you are tackling what you want to do. When writing any script, if you know the name and location of a file or a directory (folder) you should not cause (or allow, or need) your script to open an Open or a Save window -- just use the path that you already know.

  • How to make a envelop distort like in this image

Hey guys I wanted to know how can i make a envelop distort like this image in adobe illustrator CS6. Im running it on Windows 7.

I still believe the originator of the artwork at least tried to keep to the straight and narrow. The crucial question is whether Hunter wishes to (too).
When zooming in as far as possible on the image (so it is 190 mm wide on screen), as far as I can see, the spaces are still constant width and the lettershapes at top and bottom are still straight, especially evident for the TE at the end, so I believe any deviation would be an inaccuracy. The rounding of the basically horizontal segments as in Envelope (or Art Brush) Distort should be clearly visible.
I believe Hunter may be able to make sure by zooming in on the actual artwork, and maybe measuring distances between key Anchor Points, and/or dragging with the Line Tool between them, in the latter case the top of the TE would show the greatest deviance from straightness.

  • How to create a download link for video file?

    Hello guys,
I know this is not a question directly related to OS X, but I just can't find a solution. So I was hoping that some of you might know the answer, or could recommend further reading.
I have .mov video files (video footage) on the server. I would like to make these files accessible for download, via link.
So I am wondering .... how can I create a link, which would allow people to download .mov video files from the server?
Thanks for any advice or tip.

The question is, where is the server?
Is it on its own static IP? If it is not, it likely is on a DHCP configuration.
For those with DHCP, I recommend http://www.dyndns.com as a workaround, otherwise the links given will have to change as often as every hour!
Is it on a router, or does it have a firewall turned on in its sharing preferneces? Routers and firewalls block direct access from the outside. You need to setup the web sharing access on your router or firewall before someone can access it via the web.
Is the .mov file saved via Quicktime? You would also need to provide link on your page to http://www.apple.com/quicktime so that it may be downloaded by those who don't have it. If it is another format, you'll need a link to whatever format it is.
HTML for putting the video right on the page is usually controled by the EMBED function. That's covered here:
    http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/embeddedobjects/_EMBED.html
Otherwise a simple hyperlink to the file will do, once you have an open web sharing port on a static IP or dyndns controled domain.

  • How do I add a link for a file that can be downloaded

I'm sure that there's a very simple answer to this, and I
    can't believe that I don't know it.
How can I add a link to a file that will then be dowloaded by
    the user?
    Thanks

Zip the file. Link to it. Upload it.
