User, I fail to understand what your header (of the question) has to do with the stack trace. You get a npe in your code
view.com.pof.admin.users.POFAdminUser.createPasswordHistory(...)
This is the point where I would start my investigation.

  • How to invoke a method in application module or view objects interface?

    Hi,
    perhaps a stupid RTFM question, but
    How can i invoke a method that i have published in the application modules or view objects interfaces using uiXml with BC4J?
    Only found something how to invoke a static method (<ctrl:method class="..." method="..." />) but not how to call a method with or without parameters in AM or VO directly with a uix-element.
    Thanks in advance, Markus

    Thanks for your help Andy, but i do not understand why this has to be that complicated.
    Why shall i write a eventhandler for a simple call of a AM or VO method? That splatters the functionality over 3 files (BC4J, UIX, handler). Feature Request ;-)?
    I found a simple solution using reflection that can be used at least for parameterless methods:
    <event name="anEvent">
      <bc4j:findRootAppModule name="MyAppModule">
         <!-- Call MyAppModule.myMethod() procedure. -->
          <bc4j:setPageProperty name="MethodName" value="myMethod"/>
          <ctrl:method class="UixHelper"
                  method="invokeApplicationModuleMethod"/>
       </bc4j:findRootAppModule>
    </event>The UixHelper method:
      public static EventResult invokeApplicationModuleMethod( BajaContext context,
                                                               Page page,
                                                               PageEvent event ) {
        String methodName = page.getProperty( "MethodName" );
        ApplicationModule am = ServletBindingUtils.getApplicationModule( context );
        Method method = null;
        try {
          method = am.getClass(  ).getDeclaredMethod( methodName, null );
        } catch( NoSuchMethodException e ) {
          RuntimeException re = new RuntimeException( e );
          throw re;
        try {
          method.invoke( am, null );
        } catch( InvocationTargetException e ) {
          RuntimeException re = new RuntimeException( e );
          throw re;
        } catch( IllegalAccessException e ) {
          RuntimeException re = new RuntimeException( e );
          throw re;
        return null;
      }Need to think about how to handle parameters and return values.
    Btw. Do i need to implement the EventHandler methods synchronized?

  • How to open a jspx in a popup from managed bean.

    Hello,
    I'm using Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.4.0.
    I have a JSPX that is to be used as an application monitor screen. So it contains 5 af:tables with plenty of columns & query search criteria. Each of the tables has context sensitive menus as well as double click functionality.
    When I write everything in a single JSPX, the code functions as expected. i.e. menu items & double click actions open new popups with requisite data. However, single JSPX becomes huge in size and hence difficult to maintain.
    When I transfer code to another JSPX, How do I call the new JSPX in a popup from the managed bean?

  • Invoking custom methods in application modules

    Hi,
    I am absolutely new to oracle ADF.I was recently working with application module.My question is how do I call a custom method(say myCustomMeth(String str) ) residing inside my application module from my Managed bean?I saw one example where the operation(i.e. the method) was directly dragged and dropped onto the jspx page from the data control.Is it the right way of doing it?I also saw one example where operation binding was used to invoke a method inside the application module although I didn't understand the code fully.I am really confused now.Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    user11930797 wrote:
    My question is how do I call a custom method(say myCustomMeth(String str) ) residing inside my application module from my Managed bean?You write the custom Application Module method and you expose it to the AM's client interface. By doing so, the custom operation becomes available in the AM Data Control and can be bound to your jspx page.
    I saw one example where the operation(i.e. the method) was directly dragged and dropped onto the jspx page from the data control.Is it the right way of doing it?I also saw one example where operation binding was used to invoke a method inside the application module although I didn't understand the code fully.Both of the methods that you are mentioning above are used:
    1. You can drag the custom method from the data control in JDeveloper and drop it in your page as a command button or link to create a method binding declaratively this way. The method binding is executed via some command button or link and your custom AM method is called, or
    2. You can create the method binding yourself in the bindings tab of you jspx page, add the command button in your page and define an action listener for it in your backing bean. In your backing bean action listener you can write the necessary code to execute the method binding, which will call your custom AM method.
    Hope it is clear.

  • How to call application module from ServletContextListener

    Hi,

    Hi,
    no, the function is not related to user session. It's actually data synchronization between two systems.
    We'd prefere to keep it in middle tier, through web services on one side and AM on the other. This way we are platform / RDBMS independent.
    I could use a fake system user, eg. "sync" with password "sysnc", but how do I "log on" such user in my EJB code? If I could somehow access AM login context and call login with username and password...?
    Edit:
    it also puzzles me that it's possible to have a page within the aplication that allows anonymous access. The only difference in security context seem to be _isHttp property. getUserPrincipaly returns JpsAnonymousUserImpl in both cases, IsAuthenticated() is false in both cases...

  • How to execute multiple queries in one stored procedure.

    Hi,
    I am Kumar,
    How to execute multiple queries in one stored procedure.
    here is the my requirements,
    1. get the max value from one table and sum of the that value.
    2. insert the values and also sum of the max value.
    using stored procedure
    I am using SQL server 2000 database.
    Please help me.
    Advance thanks
    by,
    Kumar

    This is not a java question and it is not even a problem: your only problem is
    1) lack of knowledge
    2) lack of interest to find a manual
    But you are going to have to change both by actually reading a book or a manual that explains the stored procedure language of SQL Server. It is the same as Sybase I think, so you could also look for a manual for that DBMS.

  • How to execute the method of a class loaded

    Hi,
    I have to execute the method of com.common.helper.EANCRatingHelper" + version
    version may be 1,2, etc
    if version = 1 the class is com.common.helper.EANCRatingHelper1;
    Iam able to load the class using following code.But iam unable to execute the method of the above class
    Can anybody help me how to execute the method of the class loaded.
    Following is the code
    String version = getHelperClassVersion(requestDate);
    String helperClass = "com.redroller.common.carriers.eanc.helper.EANCRatingHelper" + version;
    Class eancRatingHelper = Class.forName(helperClass);
    eancRatingHelper.newInstance();
    eancRatingHelper.saveRating(); This is not executing throwing an error no method.
    Thanks

    eancRatingHelper.newInstance();Ok, that creates an instance, but you just threw it away. You need to save the return of that.
    Object helper = eancRatingHelper.newInstance();
    eancRatingHelper.saveRating(); This is not executing throwing an error no method.Of course. eancRatingHelper is a Class object, not an instance of your EANCRatingHelper object. The "helper" object I created above is (though it is only of type "Object" right now) -- you have to cast it to the desired class, and then call the method on that.
    Hopefully EANCRatingHelper1 and 2 share a common interface, or you're up the creek.

  • How is call web method in application?.

    Hi,
    I have created java web application(Web Service).
    I want to call the setName() method in java application(GUI).
    how is call web method in application?.
    package sv;
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    import javax.jws.WebParam;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    @WebService()
    public class MyService {
    @WebMethod(operationName = "setName")
    public String setName(@WebParam(name = "name")
    String name) {
    return "my string is "+ name;
    }

    The model layer should never depend on a specific view layer - this breaks reusability.
    What you need to do is expose a service method on your AM. Then your view can call this method and pass a parameter into the model layer.

    My question is very similar to what was discussed in following thread:
    How to execute a method after page Load?
    My requirement is that I want to run a method in backing bean of a page, immediately after the page gets loaded. In that method I want to invoke one of the method action included in the pagedef of this page, conditionally.
    I tried using the approach given in the above thread, i.e to use <f:view afterPhase="#{backing_security.setPermPriv}">, but the problem is that our page is not using 'f:view' , so I explicitly added one f:view with afterPhase property set , but it is not working, page it self is not getting loaded, it is throwing the error:
    Root cause of ServletException.
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: <f:view> was not present on this page; tag [email protected]e8encountered without an <f:view> being processed.

    Hi,
    I assume that your view is a page fragment and here - indeed - the f:view tag cannot be used. If you use ADF then one option would be to use a custom RegionController on the binding layer to listen for the render phase to invoke the method. Another option would be to use a hidden field (output text set to display="false" and have this component value referencing a managed bean property. The managed bean property's getter method can now be used to invoke the method you want to run upon view rendering

    Please "Preview" your future posts. Your formatting is awful. Especially learn to use the [ code ] tags.
    Are you sure DateTime.Now.ToString() returns a string in the format of 'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS.FF3'?
    Fix that and if you still having the problems, debug the actual result of your string.Format() and post that.

  • Cannot Access Application Module from View Project (Swing)

    I recently started a new application workspace as a Swing project with Business Components. Jdev created 2 projects by default, a Model and a View. The model works fine, all the business components are funtctioning and the DB connection is good. When i try to create a reference to the application module in my View project i constantly get 'Class Not Found' exceptions no matter what i do. I am using the jbo.client.Configuration.getRootApplicationModule('amName', 'amConfig') method.
    What am i missing? How do i instantiate my application module from my View project?

  • How to call a AM method with parameters from Managed Bean?

    Hi Everyone,
    I have a situation where I need to call AM method (setDefaultSubInv) from Managed bean, under Value change Listner method. Here is what I am doing, I have added AM method on to the page bindings, then in bean calling this
    Class[] paramTypes = { };
    Object[] params = { } ;
    invokeEL("#{bindings.setDefaultSubInv.execute}", paramTypes, params);
    This works and able to call this method if there are no parameters. Say I have to pass a parameter to AM method setDefaultSubInv(String a), i tried calling this from the bean but throws an error
    String aVal = "test";
    Class[] paramTypes = {String.class };
    Object[] params = {aVal } ;
    invokeEL("#{bindings.setDefaultSubInv.execute}", paramTypes, params);
    I am not sure this is the right way to call the method with parameters. Can anyone tell how to call a AM method with parameters from Manage bean
    Thanks,
    San.

    Simply do the following
    1- Make your Method in Client Interface.
    2- Add it to Page Def.
    3- Customize your Script Like the below one to Achieve your goal.
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("GetUserRoles");
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("username", "oracle");
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("role", "F1211");
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("Connection", "JDBC");
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
    return null;
    return null;
    i hope it help you

  • The difference in calling an application module from a backing bean

    Hello everybody!
    I don't understand exactly, where is the difference in calling an application module from a backing bean in the following ways.
    Example 1
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ValueBinding vb = context.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{data}");
    BindingContext bc = (BindingContext)vb.getValue(context);
    DCDataControl dc = bc.findDataControl("AppModuleDataControl");
    AppModuleImpl appModule = (AppModuleImpl)dc.getDataProvider();Example 2
    String amDef = "model.services.AppModule";
    String config = "AppModuleLocal";
    AppModuleImpl appModule = (AppModuleImpl)Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);Example 3 (the same like Example 1???)
    String EL = "#{data.AppModuleDataControl.dataProvider}";
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ValueBinding vb = fc.getApplication().createValueBinding(EL);
    AppModuleImpl appModule = (AppModuleImpl)vb.getValue(fc);Please can anybody explain, what the three examples do? Which example is preferred to call an application-module-method from a backing bean?
    Thanks and regards
    Majo
    Edit: I am using ADF BC 10g in JDev10 :)

    Hi :)
    >
    This could work, but can you describe the use case for which you need to get the ApplicationModule?
    Maybe we can find a better way to implement your functionality.
    >
    Sure, i know a lot of better ways to implement the same functionality too but its a huge project, its not my code and we have no time to reimplement this functions ;)
    Frank, i don't understand the first line of your code.
    DCBindingContainer bindings = ... resolve #{bindings}Where do i get the bindingContainer, if I don't have the "JSFUtils"- or "ADFUtils"-classes?
    Regards
    Majo
    Edit:
    Sorry, i have answer, before i think about it ;)
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    Application app = context.getApplication();
    DCBindingContainer bindings = (DCBindingContainer)app.getVariableResolver().resolveVariable(context, "bindings");
    BindingContext bctx = bindings.getBindingContext();
    DCDataControl dc = bctx.findDataControl("AppModuleDataControl");
    AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)dc.getDataProvider();or in my backing bean, when i add the property to the faces-config.xml
    DCBindingContainer bindings = this.getBindings();
    BindingContext bctx = bindings.getBindingContext();
    DCDataControl dc = bctx.findDataControl("AppModuleDataControl");
    AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)dc.getDataProvider();Is this right?

  • Howto stop the application module from using a DB

    Hello,
    Maybe and unusual question, but is there a way to stop the application module from connect to a DB? I know its purpose is to do so. But currently we are using ‘stub’ views and entities.
    In the executequery and dodml we wrote our own code to access data from webservices.
    We did this because we are also using JHeadStart which requires BC.
    It all works fine, but the application module needs a valid connection to a DB, although it will never query anything there.
    So is there a method which I can overwrite to make the application module think its connected to the DB but it actually isn’t?
    A second problem is most likely its state table.

    Example #96 on my blog does this. It might have some useful clues.

  • Referring Application Module from different Project

    I have two projects. a.jpr and b.jpr
    I need to refer an Application Module from b.jpr in the first project a.jpr
    In the Application Module edit Wizard, in the "available" list it shows all the Application Modules from the current project only.
    What do I have to do to see the Application Modules of the other project.
    In the "Project Settings" option, under "Dependencies" I have referred to the other project "b.jpr"
    But it didn't help.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I have a similar problem as follows.
    I have two projects: a web WAR and an EJB3 EAR. On deployment all the EJB class files are generated into the WAR file and the contents of the EAR file only has the XML configuration and dependant jar files.
    How can I build the deployment EAR with the EJB classes within the jar? Why are they ending up in with the WAR WEB-INF/classes directory?
    This a significant problem and any help / advice would be appreciated.
