How to execute XML batch commands using SharePoint Web services or Client Object Model
Hi,
I have a requirement to execute some batch commands to update SharePoint View Style, how can i do it using SharePoint webservices or SharePoint Client Object model.
I need to execute the following Batch command over a particular web.
<Method ID="UpdateView">
<SetVar Name="Cmd">UpdateView</SetVar>
<SetList Scope="Request">{GUID of List}</SetList>
<SetVar Name="View">{GUID of View}</SetVar>
<SetVar Name="ViewStyle">6</SetVar>
<SetVar Name="RowLimit">100</SetVar>
<SetVar Name="Paged">TRUE</SetVar>
</Method>
Hi
I tried it already... But UpdateView Method in the Views.asmx and Lists.asmx, both are not supporting for updating the style of the view (like Boxed, Newsletter...).
If you have any code sample which will do this job with any of the SharePoint web services, please share it..

Rename a File in a SharePoint document library through Client object model
Hi,
How to Rename a File in a SharePoint document library through Client object model?
Thanks
Poomani SankaranHi,
According to your description, you want to rename file in the document library using SharePoint Client Object Model.
Here is a code snippet works well in my environment for your reference:
static void Main(string[] args)
string url = "http://sp2013sps/sites/test/";
ClientContext clientContext = new ClientContext(url);
Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.List spList = clientContext.Web.Lists.GetByTitle("Documents");
clientContext.Load(spList);
clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
if (spList != null && spList.ItemCount > 0)
Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.CamlQuery camlQuery = new CamlQuery();
camlQuery.ViewXml =@"<View> <Query> <Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='LinkFilenameNoMenu' /><Value Type='Computed'>New Microsoft Word Document.docx </Value></Eq></Where> </Query> <ViewFields><FieldRef Name='Title' /></ViewFields> </View>";
ListItemCollection listItems = spList.GetItems(camlQuery);
clientContext.Load(listItems);
clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
listItems[0]["Title"] = "word.docx";
listItems[0]["FileLeafRef"] = "word.docx";
listItems[0].Update();
clientContext.ExecuteQuery();

General question: How to execute a batch input using different user name?
Hi everyone,
I would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to execute a batch input from source code using a differente username so the batch input is executed with different permissions.
For example, I log on with:
Username: A
, but I'd like to execute a batch input using the rights and permissions of user B.
Thanks in advance and best regards.
Ben.If you are calling the BDC in a program, create a job to run the program and specify the user you want each program to run under.

How to start a batch job through a web service call
I have a batch job created Data Services that I would like to be able to start through a web service call.
I have exposed the batch job as a Web Service through the mangement console.
The Integrators guide is not the clearest piece of documentation that I have ever read so I'm now having a little trouble.
In C# I'm issuing the following statements:
DataServices.Batch_JobsClient batchClient = new DataServices.Batch_JobsClient();
batchClient.Open();
DataServices.Testjob_Match_GlobalVariables myVar = new DataServices.Testjob_Match_GlobalVariables();
myVar.ptd_FilePath = "D:
Jobs
Test";
batchClient.Testjob_Match(myVar);
That all executes without error -- but the job is not started. Obviously I'm missing a step here but I can not figure out what is needed to acutally start the job execution from the Integrators Guide.

How to call Jive Search methods using REST Web Services from ADF
Hi
Can someone provide me an example to call JIVE Search using REST web services from Webcenter ADF.
As we have the similar facility to call UCM Search from WebServices DataControl.
Do we have anything similar like this for JIVE Search?
JIVE 5.1 is deprecating SOAP style web services and so I am planning to use REST.
Any suggestions on this is much appreciated.
Many Thanks

I am using the Javascript client object model to retrieve contents of a document library.
I have a document library, which contains a folder "Folder1" . "Folder1" has a zip file. I would like to get the file size of the zip file.
I have tried the below code, but not sure, how to fetch the file size.
function FetchImage() {
var clientcontext = new SP.ClientContext.get_current();
var oweb = clientcontext.get_web();
var olibrary = oweb.get_lists().getByTitle(DocLibrary);
var query = new SP.CamlQuery();
query.set_folderServerRelativeUrl("Lists/DocLibrary/folder1/");
folder = olibrary.getItems(query);
clientcontext.load(folder, 'Include(Title,ContentType, FileLeafRef,FileDirRef,File)');
clientcontext.executeQueryAsync(Function.createDelegate(this, this.RenderDataOnSuccess), Function.createDelegate(this, this.RenderDataOnFailure));
function RenderDataOnSuccess() {
var ListEnumerator = this.folder.getEnumerator();
while (ListEnumerator.moveNext()) {
var currentItem = ListEnumerator.get_current();
if (_contentType.get_name() != "Folder") {
var File = currentItem.get_file();
if (File != null) {
// Fetch file size
How to fetch the file size?
Thanks<script>

var myFSO = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
var filepath = document.upload.file.value;
var thefile = myFSO.getFile(filepath);
var size = thefile.size;

hi all,
how to execute a cvs login command using system call ?

import java.io.PrintWriter;

//send commands to CVS and shows the resulting screen

String lineRead;
StringBuilder buffer=new StringBuilder();
System.out.println("Return of shell:");
while ((lineRead = br.readLine()) != null)
buffer.append(lineRead + "\n");
System.out.println(buffer.toString());
return p.waitFor();
//send commands to CVS, send the password after the prompt and show the resulting screen
public int sendDialogCMD(String[] command) throws IOException, InterruptedException
ProcessBuilder pb = new ProcessBuilder(command);
pb.directory(new File(directory));
pb.redirectErrorStream(true); // merge stdout and stderr
Process p = pb.start();
PrintWriter writer = new PrintWriter( new OutputStreamWriter( p.getOutputStream() ));
writer.println( password );
writer.flush();

BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
String lineRead;
StringBuilder buffer=new StringBuilder();
System.out.println("Return of shell:");
while ((lineRead = br.readLine()) != null)
buffer.append(lineRead + "\n");
System.out.println(buffer.toString());
return p.waitFor();
public static void main(String a[]) throws IOException, InterruptedException
execCMD e=new execCMD();
String[] command = new String[5];
command[0] = "cvs";
command[1] = "-q";
command[2] = "-d";
command[3] = ":pserver:yourUserID@localhost:2402/path/of/yourProject"; //in this case using CVS port 2402
command[4] = "login";
System.out.println("exit value=" + e.sendDialogCMD(command));
command = new String[8];
command[0] = "cvs";
command[1] = "-q";
command[2] = "-d";
command[3] = ":pserver:yourUserID@localhost:2402/path/of/yourProject";
command[4] = "-n";
command[5] = "-q";
command[6] = "update";
command[7] = "-dA";
System.out.println("exit value=" + e.sendCMD(command));
}It is possible to send the password on the same command, but I had problems when the password had the character '@' because CVSNT took it as the separator between the username and server name. In that case the command is: ":pserver:yourUserID:yourPassword@localhost:2402/path/of/yourProject" -
How To Debug XML Serialization Error while deploy web services
<b>My Scenario</b>
I've created a Java Projects with a Class. From there I convert it to Web Service by creating the virtual interface, the web services definition and the web service configuration. After that I deploy to the SAP WAS (SP11). At this instant I only try to deploy the web services with the intension to modify it later for GP to invoke.
<b>Result</b>
When deployment the Web Service I get an XML Deserialization error. Error text is below.
<b>Question</b>
How do I go about debugging this? What logs are good starting point? Can I capture the entire SOAP response message somehow?
Thanks

This is a common problem when you are working with webservices, i have worked with them and not always the response of the ws comes like de wsdl says, depends of your wsdl provider.
I suggest you that checks your response of your webservice with the Enterprise Portal Web Services Checker View
For see this view in NetWeaver go to Window > Show View > Other > Enterprise Portal Web Services Checker
Put the wsdl url definition in wsdl url textbox
and the click in the letter W, this procedure brings you all methods and everything for play with the WEB Services.. and you can check the response of you webservices call funtion, checks that all the tags comes like says in the wsdl
Good luck
