How to export objects of specific schema?

I need to export object of specific schema so please let me know how?
Thanks,
Waheed.

First thing you want to do - decide whether you will use the exp/imp or the expdp/impdp (data pump) routines.
To make THAT decision for 10g/11g look at CHapter 11 of the Concepts manual. (no decision in 9i - no data pump)
Once that decision is made, use the appropriate parameters as found in the Utilities manual - for every version from Oracle version 5 on. The parameters are different between exp and expdp

  • How to browse objects in different schemas

If I connect to the database in one schema is there a way to browse objects in a different schema? For example, I connect as hr and I want to view the tables in the ord schema.

    Robert,
You have said you only see "a few" users under Other Users - does this mean you only see say six other schemas or does this mean you only see a small percentage of the available schemas?
With the current navigator interface, SQL Developer by default only displays a selection of values under each node. For example, if I have not filtered my "Other Users" node, I see about 50 schemas and a "Show More" at the bottom of the list. Note that the schemas appear to be randomly selected, although those selected are listed in order - my list includes schemas starting with A through X even though we have over 50 schemas starting with A.
You can either double click on the "Show More" and select "Show All" to get the full list, or filter to the specific schemas you want to see (ie just the production schemas and not the user schemas).
If you are seeing only a handful of users and you do not get the "Show More" option, right click on the "Other Users" node and select "Apply Filter" to check to see if you have somehow already filtered the list.
As a final note - you say you can see the production schemas through SQL+. Given that this without a graphical interface, do your "schema queries" produce the same result in SQL Developer as they do in SQL+?

  • Allow user to create objects in specific schema

I would like to be able to grant a user/role permission to create/drop tables/views/etc.. in a specific schema, other than their own.
It appears like I can do either
    grant create table to role
    or
grant create any table to role
the former allowing them to create tables in their own schema, the latter allowing them to create tables anyplace.
Is there really nothing in the middle?
    Why....
In my application i have a couple of "users" that are really just schemas. They are not used for users to login.
We have actual user account(s) that are used for connecting to the db by the application.
We have a role that all of these users belong to.
At certain points in our application, our use needs to modify one of these application schemas.
I do not want the user to be able to modify any other schema in the database.
I can't be the first person to have encountered this. I'm hoping that there is some clever solution that I have just missed thus far.
10g would be ideal, 11g only would be ok.
    Thanks.

  • How to export file with specific KB/s for video?

Just wondering how to go about doing this. I want a file to be exported with 188 KB/s video. and the audio 128kbps in h.264.

I have to admit, you found an interesting way to confuse my friend Jim.
You see, people just don't use KB/s, they use Mb/s or even Kb/s but using 188KB/s means that most of us have to multiply by eight to get a number we are used to, then divide by 1024.
So, 188 X 8 = 1504Kb/s or about 1.47Mb/s. Which is pretty small for  video in this day and age, but so be it. That is their recommendation.
(If anyone wants to argue about the 1024 vs 1000, don't. I can argue both sides for you.)
    http://pc.net/helpcenter/answers/kbps_or_mbps_faster
    https://support.speedtest.net/entries/21057567-What-do-mbps-and-kbps-mean-
To set the export bit rate you will want to type in 1.47Mb/s but you won't be happy comparing it to a higher quality YouTube video. Darn, who would have even thought I would ever type " higher quality YouTube video" and not be kidding?

  • Exporting and Importing Specific Folders in Discoverer

    Hi,
Can any one tell me how to export and import specific folders in Discoverer using command line.I tried using discoverer admin but the while importing the folders it is going to orphan folders.
    you help appreciated

If using admin, go into the folder manager (I think it is on the tools menu), and assign the newly imported (and orphaned) folders to the BA where you want them to be.
I'm not certain that the command line will not leave orphans (but I rarely use command line, so I could be wrong).

  • Export data for specific period through Data Pump

    Hi,
I've a specific requirement to take the dumps of some tables for specific time period. like between last 10 days like 01-JAN-11 to 10-JAN-11. How can I acommplish this. For Documentation what I read is that we can export the data for specific period of thie by either setting FLASHBACK_SCN or FLASHBACK_TIME parameter in expdp command but this is point in time export not for the specific time export.
Please guide me how can export between the specific time. like between 1-JAN to 10-JAN
    Regards,
    Abbasi

export between the specific time. like between 1-JAN to 10-JANYou need to clarify your requirements. Data is always "at a point in time". I can see data as at noon of 01-Jan. I can see data as at noon of 10-Jan. What would I mean by data "between" 01-Jan and 10-Jan ?
Say the table has 5 rows on 01-Jan :
    ID    VALUES
    1      ABC
    2      DEF
    3      TRG
    4      MXY
    5     DEW2 Rows "6-GGG" and "7-FRD" were inserted on 02-Jan.
2 Rows "2" and "3" were updated from "DEF" and "TRG" to "RTU" and "GTR" on 03-Jan.
    1 Row "5-DEW" was deleted on 09-Jan.
    2 Rows "8-TFE" and "9-DZN" were insereted on 09-Jan.
Can you tell me what is the "data between 01-Jan and 10-Jan" ?
(the above example actually happens to have an incrementing key column "ID". Your table might not even have such an identifier column at all !)

    - Is there an option to "connect" (not refer) to a specific schema, say "SchemaA" in SQL plus in order to run a specific sql code on this schema alone?
    - How can we export a specific schema as a dump file in SQL plus-what is the syntax? Assuming username=U;password = PW; Database=DB and schema = Sch
    Thanks a lot.

    - Can an Oracle 10g Release 10.2 client be used to connect to a oracle 10.1 database?
Yes. O10gR2 client can be used to connect all version of Oracle instance.
    - Is there an option to "connect" (not refer) to a specific schema, say "SchemaA" in SQL plus in order to run a specific sql code on this schema alone?
    connect ShcemaA/pwd@hoststring.
    for e.g.
    connect scott/tiger@oradev
    conn scott/tiger@oradev

Export can be done on Command promt not on SQLPLUS prompt.
try the following to know all the parameters and usage of exp command.
    c:\> exp help=y
    exp scott/tiger FILE=scott.dmp OWNER=scott GRANTS=y ROWS=y COMPRESS=y

  • SOS!! How to export a schema while the SYSAUX tablespace is offline?

    Hello,
the SYSAUX for one of our productive database became corrupted and I had to take it offline in order to open the database. There is no way to recover it since there are missing archive logs from the sequence.
So I need to export a database schema which holds all the productive tables/indexes (there are no procedure, functions, packages, triggers, etc - just tables, constraints and indexes).
When I try to export the schema, I get the following error:

Is there any way to use the export or expdp utility to get the actual data from a specific schema ?

Hello Harry and many thanks for your reply.
EXCLUDE is an option of expdp not exp. So I used expdp and get the following error:

Edited by: qkc on May 13, 2011 10:45 AMThere is no way - by definition - that one user can "become the owner" of another schema. A schema is, by definition, the collection of objects that belong to one owner.
but perhaps that is just semantics in the context of what you really want.
    use sql to build sql:
    spool doit.sql
select 'grant select on someuser.' || table_name || ' to someotheruser;'
    from dba_tables
    where owner = 'SOMEUSER';
    spool off

    thx
    adam

If you want to export a user and the schema owned to the user, and import to the same user in a different database, or a different user in the same database, you can use the exp and imp commands as described in the Utilities manual.
These commands are very versatile and have a lot of options - well worth learning properly. To give you a simplistic shortcut, see below - I create a user 'test_move', create some objects in the schema, export, create a new user in the database 'new_move' and import.

There are many variations on the theme ...
You can simplify this. You can select tables individually. You can use a parameter file. You can transport all the constraints and data. You can skip the data and only move the definitions. You can get some help (imp/exp help=yes).
And, if it's all 10g, there is a new and improved facility called expdp/impdp (dp = data pump) which has a lot more capability as well, including direct transfer (no intermediate file) together with suspend/restart. Also documented in the Utilities manual.
