I installed eclipse a java development environment and I need all jar files (libraries). Where can I find and download them?

well download the SDK appropriate for your case and you will get them there :p

The basic idea is to find all the possible jars and then extract the entries in them and then filter out the desired string. You can filter for "JboException" or, "oracle/jbo/JboException". Note the forward slash here.
You can also write your own utility to do that. Or download some by googling.
By the way, that class is in my <ORACLE_HOME>\BC4J\lib\bc4jmt.jar.

Hi,
Can you check up if this is located in the following path.
System Administration ->Support->Portal Runtime
Here navigate to ROOT/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps
Open the folder with the name of the par file and check up if you can locate the jar.

I know, I always do that but I was in a rush to get somewhere and I was relying on my thousand dollar Mac to do some kind of recovery or something. I know Microsoft always keeps temporary files (I think Mac does too, part of me asking here in this forum was for someone to tell me where I can find those files) and when you go to open Office Works then it gives you the option of opening the last recent documents, saved or not saved.
I usually copy paste into my emial just in case something goes wrong with the created document but I just didn't have the time to login and do all that My loss, you live and you learn, BUT still if ANYONE got any info on this, PLEASE DO CHIME IN *keeping the hope alive*

How to find all my Appleworks files?

I am on OS 10.6.8 and want to upgrade to Yosemite. Before I can do so I need to convert all my files that require Rosetta to open in a classic environment. It will take me a year to sort through my documents folders and find them all on a "hunt and peck" basis. Is there any way within 10.6.8, or with a compatible app, to find all these files? Most if not all the docs are in AppleWorks 6 or prior.

From 11.1 onwards, the below two views are available to identify the jar files loaded into the Database.
JAVAJAR$
JAVAJAROBJECTS$
By querying the JAVAJAR$ view you can know information about the JAR files loaded into the Database and using JAVAJAROBJECTS$ view you can find all the java objects associated with the given JAR file.
These views are populated everytime you use LOADJAVA with "-jarsasdbobjects" option to load your custom java classes.
But unfortunately this feature is available only from 11.1 onwards and there is no clear workaround for above in 10.2 or earlier.

You want to create an executable JAR file? You do it in the following way.
Create a manifest file such as manif.txt and the contents should contain
Main-Class: foo
assuming foo is the name of your main class. Then create the jar as follows
jar cvfm foo.jar manif.txt foo.class

Excellent question. I don't see any client-jar in your EAR file structure. So I am assuming you are writing a separate client application which will talk to the ejbs deployed as part of this EAR. You need to do the following:
Write another EAR file with the following structure:
ear:
META-INF/application.xml
util.jar
client.jar
client.jar should have a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF and that should contain Class-Path:util.jar and value for Main-Class attribute.
Now deploy this new ear to your application server and execute it using Application Client Container that comes with your app server.
If you don't want to write another EAR file, then bundle th client.jar in your original EAR file.
Points to note are:
you have to repackage util.jar again inside this ear file.
For portability reason, you should use Class-Path manifest entry in client.jar. Refer to http://java.sun.com/j2ee/verified/packaging.html and J2EE platform spec section #8.2.

Why are all jar files not compressed in the JRE installer?

I used 7zip to unpack jre-6u12-windows-i586-p.exe (Oracle JRE Installer). On unpacking, I got a core.zip, a zipper.exe and a few other files.
Again on exploding core.zip I found a few things. core.zip contains all the jar files just like it would be after installation except for 7 jar files.
charsets.jar
deploy.jar
javaws.jar
jsse.jar
localedata.jar
plugin.jar
rt.jar
Instead of these jar files there exists the corresponding packfiles
charsets.pack
deploy.pack
javaws.pack
jsse.pack
localedata.pack
plugin.pack
rt.pack
I think these are files created by pack200.exe & unpack200.exe is run on them after installation to create the corresponding jar files.
So now I have a few questions
Why are only these 7 files run through pack200.exe. I assume its because they are bigger than other files. But it wouldn't take that much effort to pack all jar files & unpack them after installation.
The .pack extension suggests that these are packed but not gzipped. Again why would Oracle not do a gzip also? for eg with rt.jar packing reduces size from 45 MB to 12 MB, while adding gzip also reduces it to 6 MB.

Whatever the truth of all this may be, you won't find it here. This is a user to user forum, not Oracle support or a channel to the developers. All you will get here at best is valid post hoc reasoning: at worst, guesswork. And if you're trying to bring this issue to Oracle's attention, again this isn't the place to do it. Generally not a good idea. The Java runtime won't be able to load classes from those "inner" jars, you'd have to write your own classloader to do that. It's not a brilliant idea, generally, anyway, since the point of having lots of jars is to keep your application modular. Bundling them all together like that means you have to re-deploy the whole thing to fix, for instance, one small bug in one small library
If you really want to do this, there's an Eclipse plugin called FatJar, but I urge you to consider whether you really want to do it first.

How to run my jar file on a webserver

I've created a chat aplication which consists of a client-side and server-side. The client-side is an applet and is working fine. But i'm getting problem with the server-side. Actually, it is working fine on my local system and even in a local area network. But now, i want to put the server-side on a webserver. So, i want to know how can i do that. My server-side is a jar file "chatserver.jar" which i've developed using frame containers. I want to know also how to run the chatserver.jar on the webserver. Is it that i should have implemented jsp? Or javascript? coz my chatserver must be always running 24/7. It must not be available to user. users will chat through applets and the data will be sent to the server-side which will in turn control and recognise those data. Can anyone please help me in that issue.

In this application, i'm using a thread where my datagram socket will keep on receiving data from clients and this server side apllication must response to the client. For example, if a client has added a new room, or a new user has logged in, the server side must take care to inform all other clients that a new user has just logged in or a new room has been created. The main method is in the "chatserver.class". Then, i've combined all my classes including the chatserver.class into a jar file. When i click on the jar file on my local system or on the server of a local area network, it works beautifully. So, my server side application works like that. I have to click on the chatserver.jar once and nothing else. No other interaction with the applicaion. But my problem is how to run it on a web-server like apache. Or even if i upload this software on a website, how do i make it run? Shall i implement jsp codes? If yes, how to execute such jar file using jsp?

chatcom is another class which i've created to differentiate if the data received is a message, new room, new user, etc... I've created my own RFC to make those differences. Like i said above, if a client has created a new room, the chatcom class will recognise that a new room has to be created and will therefore send the new room created to all other clients. So, i want to know how to get my "chatserver.jar" run on a web server like apache or even on a website if i want to upload this software. Coz once it starts running, i dnt hav to close the application. I mean to say that this application will have to run 24/7. Do i have to execute it externally using jsp codes?
