How to Fix Uploading a Muse site to Filezilla, images / parts missing

Hello,
I have recently finished designing a site in Muse.  I exported the Muse site as HTML previous to FTPing.  I used Filezilla to FTP my site/files and Network Solutions is who is hosting the site.  After FTPing the site it is now live but many parts are missing: my background master image, individual images, buttons, etc.  The site shows a blank page but my buttons are live and functional.
I found a forum that states to change permissions and have done that (set all of the folder files to 755).  The only other thing I could think of is that the PSD files that Muse allows you to place into your working Muse document does not translate well and that may be the issue for them not showing up in the live site.  The frustrating thing is that all of my previews in Muse and browsers previous to FTPing have been successful.
My last idea was to re-point my domain name to Business Catalyst to host my site.  I really do not want to go this route but will if absolutley necessary.  I tested the site using the Business Catalyst FTP service and it came up well.  Unfortunately, it adds 'businesscatalyst' to the end of your URL.  And, I'm not sure exactly how long re-pointing takes as I'm pretty new to the web game.  I'm always trying to learn though.
Please pass on any thoughts or tips.  I am grateful in advance!

If you have more how to questions on Business Catalyst, you can get them answered here, http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/ via BC Chat support. In the products you will have to select Business Catalyst.
As far as your web site is concerned, have you already tried the built in FTP upload feature from the File menu? I checked your web site again and it gave me a server permission error.

  • How do I recover a Muse site back to my computer after it has crashed and I've lost the files?

How do I recover a Muse site that was uploaded to Business Catalyst back to my computer after my system crashed and I've lost the files?

Regardless of being in development or not, "Captain Obvious" is is correct and the working .muse file is lost, meaning that you will have to start again from scratch.
All the BC will contain is the published HTML and support files, not the .muse file which you would require to recover the site design.
Might want to look into Time Machine or another automatic, timed backup source while you work.

  • How to I get my Muse site to have a "Direct Link" to a section on my website.

How to I get my Muse site to have a "Direct Link" to a section on my website. For example, if I am under the busniesscatayst I can direct some to an exact page in my site through an email or Facebook post: http://biteonfishing.businesscatalyst.com/buy-now.html  However, I can not perform the function when I am not including the Business Catalyst www.BiteOnFishing.com I want to make so I can send people to the link using www.BiteOnFishing.com/buy-now.html. Any advice is much appreciated.

You need to point your domain name DNS to the Business Catalyst server and then set up the domain name in the Business Catalyst site admin.

Need a lot more information Mary,
What are you building your site in? Have you read any of the documentation for BC? What software are you using? What are your skills and knowledge of BC , HTML, CSS, Javascript etc? Are you moving a site from something else to BC? What do you want to achieve from it....?
Your asking a very broad question there.

The troubleshooting C17 is the specific article.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
This is generally a Lion error.. and you will need 5.6 utility to get access to the disk area.
So download the real utility. Run it instead of v6 toy version.

Go to the manual setup, disk page and click on disconnect all users.. that will unmount all users connected to the disk and allow it to start working. But there are a number of other issues that are possible cause. Pondini lists some of them.

  • How can I publish my Muse site to BC if I can't log in my BC account?

I am a Creative Cloud subscriber and appear to be locked out of BC. How do I get BC to change my password for me? I can't do it from my end.
It took 3 phone calls, 3 chats, and 3 days to update my Adobe Creative Cloud email ID. I was assured that BC would use the same log in. Apparently, this is not true. Now when I try to publish my Adobe Muse site to BC I can't get in. BC doesn't recognize any of my log ins. I have tried 3 different browsers and that doesn't help. Chat support is stuck too.
Although I gave up trying to get into BC and purchased a website hosting account from a more reliable source, I still would like to have access to the BC option on my Creative Cloud subscription.
HOW DO I GET HELP FOR THIS? It needs to be reset on Adobe BC's end and no one seems to know how to do that.

    Thank you for posting.
If you can login to your partner portal or login to the admin panel of your BC site, then go to help & support and then Submit a ticket.

  • How can I download my Muse site.

Somehow my offline-saved copy of my Muse site has gotten all fouled up. In my saved copythe web pages are no longer being based on the master page even though I saved the page that I last uploaded via FTP and it looks great online. I'm wondering if there is a way to import my website into muse and see if this help? Could this be a Muse problem? should I delete muse and redownload it?

There isn't a way to import your live site into Muse (other than the changes you do via BC IBE).
If the pages don't appear to be inheriting Master page content, please check in Plan mode that you have the Master page associated to the content pages through their context menu -> Masters.
    Thanks,

  • How can i upload my iweb site to my tripod host?

have been using tripod as the web host for my website for years. mostly used dreamweaver to build the original site, but it is teadious. rebuilt my entire site with iweb and i can't get it to be compatible with tripod. any suggestions? do i need to find another web host and transfer my domain ect.? would like to keep it where it's at, but really want to be able to use the iweb on my macbook pro to maintian and update the site.
    thanks

This depends on whether you have iWeb '09 or above (version 3) or earlier (version 2).
Up to and including iWeb '08, it was only possible to publish to other hosts by 'Publishing to a folder' and then uploading that local folder to a website host using a separate FTP client. From iWeb '09 an FTP method was built-in, making it easier to publish to a host other than MobileMe.
In order to upload your existing site in iWeb '09 and above:
Click on the name of the site in the sidebar: the publishing settings pane will open. Set 'Publish to' to 'FTP'. Enter the name of the site and a contact address (if desired).
In the 'FTP Server Settings' section you will need to know the server address (your hosting service can tell you that), and your username and password for that service. Your site will be published in a folder with its name at root level of the server, with an index.html file at root level (which will overwrite any index.html file which may be there already). The 'Directory/Path' field may need to include a path such as '/webspace/' or 'ht_docs/' - this is dependent on your hosting service and they should tell you this. If you want to publish within a folder you can add that to the path.
You can then click the 'Test connection' button so that iWeb can check that it can get access to your server space. You should enter the URL of the site in the 'URL' field so that rss feeds and internal links have the correct address.
To publish using an earlier version of iWeb:
From the File menu choose 'Publish to a folder'. You should create a folder somewhere convenient specifically for this and choose it when publishing to a folder: this folder should not contain anything else.
You now need an FTP program (FTP is the 'protocol' used for uploading) to upload the contents of the folder to your server.Cyberduck is free (donation requested): Transmit is $34 but I think better. You will need the server address (your hosting service can tell you that), and your username and password for that service. You can drag the contents of your folder to your webspace, or create a folder there and drag the contents to that if you prefer.

  • Why is my clients Muse site not exporting images properly?

Well I have just uploaded my clients website and the images don't seem to be displaying correctly look here and you will see what I mean http://www.butterfliesbridal.co.uk/ it isn't just one image it's quite a few however they work on my Business catalyst host but my clients are strict on using their current hosting account any ideas?.http://butterfliesbridal.businesscatalyst.com/

    Hello Nick,
As you confirmed, the site looks fine in another platform (Business Catalyst). Let's try one more thing here.
If you haven't already, please export the site from Muse to a location of your choice in your computer using the "File -> Export As HTML" option in Muse, and once done, go to that location and run the pages locally to check if the images look fine there. If they do, that means the images are exported fine from Muse, and the issue is most possibly at the host's end.
In that case, please have the host "reset your FTP permissions" and reupload the site to see if that resolves the issue.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • Trouble uploading a Muse site to FTP Host

Whenever I try to upload my website made with Adobe Muse to an FTP host I always get the error message:
Connection to PHP file failed. Unable to check if this web server supports PHP needed by Muse forms. Be sure the domain name entered in the FTP upload dialog is correct.
I'm using Godaddy/Cpanel to launch my website but I can't figure out how to launch it. I already bought/have the domain name and I already went through business catalyst. When I type in the URL for the website it just brings me to an error page with a link to my cpanel log in. Do you think this is something wrong with Cpanel because that is what I'm using to launch the site? Or is Cpanel not compatible with Muse?
    Any information helps
    Thanks

The message suggests that you are trying to use the web forms widget in Adobe Muse and it seems that your hosting service provider does not support PHP or PHP mail service.
Please refer to the document : http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3581 and contact your hosting service provider regarding this.

  • How to install API in Muse site

Hello, does anyone here know how to implement an API into a Muse website like this one: Bigstock API documentation.  I'd like to use this service for my business and I have no clue as to how to implement this or if it is even possible with Muse.  Would anyone be able to help, please?
    Many thanks for your time!

You don't really put a CMS in a site. You put a site into a
    CMS.
There are dozens of options. For small sites, Wordpress is
    popular. For
larger sites, Joomla is another popular one. But, really,

  • How to make a Bilingual Muse site?

I have made a muse project "bellacoola.de and .eu" in english language, which is already running on a third party server now. Next step is to make an exact copy of it in German language. How do I have to proceed? Thanks for your help!

If you are going to want to update your content on a regular basis, say weekly or monthly, then you may want to use XML. If you site will remain pretty constant, then there's no need for that extra layer of complexity. A good design methodology is to create one base movie and then create a series of additional movies that hold the content. I always try to design so that the user has no or very little wait time when they move from one section to another. This means that each content movie needs to be pretty small in file size.
You probably want to go through the tutorials that come with Flash to get you started in how Flash works. You might want to pick up a book or two and visit some of the Flash sites that contain tutorials. Good books: Flash CS3 Flash Bible, Actionscript 3 Cookbook, Flash CS3 for Designers, Adobe Flash CS3 Professional Classroom in a Book. Good sites: http://www.gotoandlearn.com, http://schoolofflash.com/, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/, http://www.flashandmath.com/.

  • How can I upload my iWeb site to 2 different domain addresses?

I have two different domain names, but I want to publish one iWeb site to both addresses.
I can't work out how to do it, I was thinking to duplicate the whole site but using the other address. Then I would have to make indiviual changes to both sites when updating content etc.
There must be an easier way to do this, I am missing something?

Your info says you use iWeb 08.
That means you publish to a folder.
If so, iWeb is not involved. You decide what to do with the published files on the desktop.
With iWeb 09 you only have one FTP address. To publish to another server you have to change the publish info.
But everytime you do that, iWeb will publish the entire site.
You can't have both. iWeb was not meant for that.
Anyway, you provided the solution yourself : duplicate websites for each server.
There's actually no need to make the changes in each site.
Make changes in one site, and duplicate the page to the other site.
    Then publish.

  • How can I save my muse site with images

I want to be able to save my site on my hard drive with all the photos rather than have them linked, currently it's looking for them in all different locations and it's going to take me too long to sit and update all the links.

    Hello,
Can you right click on the images in the assets panel and then click "Embed Link", and then check if that is what you're looking for?
