How to format report region titles?

How do I format the report region titles with CSS? Is there a template for the Title lable?
Pete

Hello,
The Report Template or the Report Region Template?
And yes you can do both.
Example of report template with css.

  • How to Set Report Region Title Dynamically

    I have code working to periodically refresh a Interactive Report on a page. I have the following code in the page header:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    //automatic reload IRR
    function fnc_reloadIRR () {
    gReport.search('SEARCH');
    window.setTimeout(fnc_reloadIRR, 10000);
    // this means the code execution starts after 10 seconds
    window.setTimeout(fnc_reloadIRR, 10000);
    </script>
    This is working great. The title of the report region is "Intraday Color Code Test - &P1_LAST_REFRESH_TIME."
    I have a hidden page item named P1_LAST_REFRESH_TIME on the page that contains the last time the report was refreshed. I am struggling with resetting this value when the report region is refreshed. ( May not even need this item!)
    To address this, I created an On Demand application process that gets the Last Refreshed string. I then altered the above code like this:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    //automatic reload IRR
    function fnc_reloadIRR () {
    var ajaxRequest = new htmldb_Get( null, &APP_ID., 'APPLICATION_PROCESS=SET_LAST_REFRESH_TIME',0);
    gReport.search('SEARCH');
    window.setTimeout(fnc_reloadIRR, 10000);
    ajaxResult = ajaxRequest.get();
    // this means the code execution starts after 10 seconds
    window.setTimeout(fnc_reloadIRR, 10000);
    </script>
    Note the addition of the ajaxRequest stuff. This, too, is working. That is, if I check the value in ajaxResult, it does contain the correct, current time. So far so good.
    What I can't figure out is how, now, to get a reference to the title attribute of the Interactive Report Region so that I can reset it.
    I AM SOOOOO CLOSE. Can anyone fill in this last part of the puzzle for me?

    To clarify, I really just need to know how to get a reference to the Report Region's title so that I can set it to the value currently stored in "ajaxResult"

  • How to change report region fields in read only mode?

    How to change report region fields in read only mode?
    skud.

    add the following javascript fuction to page header(or Javascript function and variables section)
    function disableItems(pRegionStaticId,pDisableFlag) {
      $('#'+pRegionStaticId).find('[name^=f]').each( function(){ /* matches fxx */
        if( $(this).attr('name').match(/f[0-9][0-9]/) ){
          return $(this);
      }).attr('disabled',pDisableFlag);
    pRegionStaticId is the region's static Id+
    Note that this code specifically disables only application arrays. Disabled items are not available after submission (and hence are different from readonly) . But any page javascript can modify disabled or readonly items(client side), so you must check at the server side to validate the data.
    You can disable items using
    disableItems('MY_REGION_ID' ,true);and enable them by passing false
    disableItems('MY_REGION_ID' ,false);

  • Display records returned for a query in the Report Region Title

    Hi,
    Is there any variable set that can be referenced to indicate how many records have been returned for a specific query. I have several hide/show regions dealing with various reports, and I would like to add a little info into the region title to display how many records there were returned for the report in this region.
    Thx in Advance,

    These are simple sql queries BTW. I've seen posts alluding to the SQL%ROWCOUNT when using cursors. Is there any variable we can reference when using a simple sql query?

  • How to outline report regions

    Hi,
    I have a page with three report regions. Two (with column 1 and 2) on the region 4, and one in region 5 (with column 1).
    The report in region 5 starts 3 or 4 characters earlier on the page then the first report of region 4.
    How to get a correct outline (same starting point for displaying the region) ?
    Hope I made my self clear.
    Any reaction will be appreciated, in advance.

    Hello,
    If you can put an example on apex.oracle.com it will be much easier to help you out. Layout issues are really hard to debug if you can't see them.

  • How to retrieve report region source statement programmatically?

    Hi all,
    I have several report regions in an apex application each
    of type "PL/SQL function body returning SQL query"
    and of same structure like:
    bq. declare \\ stmt varchar2(32767); \\ ... \\ begin \\ /* some stuff preparing sql query string */ \\ stmt := 'select' || ' a,b,c' || 'from table'; \\ return stmt; \\ end;
    Now I need to retrieve the region source returned sql statement programmatically.
    The region source is stored in apex view "apex_application_page_regions.region_source".
    But what is the best way to retrieve the SQL statement value, by executing
    the anonymous pl/sql block OR how does it work in apex internally?
    An "execute immediate +region_source+ ... " approach does not work due to PLS-00372.
    Any hints?
    Regards,
    Matthias

    Dear Matthias,
    an interesting problem you raise here. The solution is to create a function from the region source, call that function and then do something useful with the result.
    Let's suppose your region source is :
    declare v_text varchar2(100); begin return(''select * from emp''); end;
    - put this text instead of the first declare
    declare
    v_statement varchar2(4000) := '
    declare
    function test return varchar2 is
    - put this code behind the source:
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line(test);
    end;';
    begin
    execute immediate v_statement;
    end;
    Now you have created a anonymous PL/SQL block that can be performed. The whole code looks like:
    declare
    v_statement varchar2(4000) := '
    declare
    function test return varchar2 is
    begin return(''select * from emp''); end;
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line(test);
    end;';
    begin
    execute immediate v_statement;
    end;
    Instead of the put_line you might set a package variable, so that you can use the result in another way,
    good luck, DickDral

  • How to change a region title based upon the input parameter?

    Hi All,
    I need to change the region's title dynamically based on the value of a select list in another region.
    Can anyone help me in this?
    Regards,
    Sakthi.

    Hi,
    You can use &P1_ITEM_NAME. (including the & and the .) in a region title - this string will be replaced by the value from the page item called P1_ITEM_NAME, so change the name to suit your page item

  • How to hide report region?

    Hi All,
    In my application i am uisng the serach visibility concept when i am click on Search link i am displaying the another report as message, since they have not entered or selected any thing before clicking on serach button.
    <{font size="7" color="red"> No Data Found for Search Criteria. Please <{a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:6:&SESSION.::NO:"> Click here </a>} to re-enter serach criteria!! <{/font>
    Now when this message comes they will click here uisng the above message during that this region should hide and only first region should be visisble. For this i have tried like this
    <{font size="7" color="red"> No Data Found for Search Criteria. Please <{a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:6:&SESSION.::NO:P6_HIDE:hide"> Click here </a>} to re-enter serach criteria!! <{/font>
    But it it throwing error as "Unable to find item ID for item "'show'" in application. How to resolve this problem.
    Or
    Is they any othet way insted of displaying the report can i show in popu message staying no data found.
    Thanks,
    Anoo..

    Hi,
    You can use javascript alert message or some modal popup message (plugin or your own)
    Just create a condition when the actions should be fired. (in your case: click on search button + some_fields are empty / not clicked)

  • How to format report date prompt as MM/DD/YY instead of MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS

    Hi,
    In a report I have opportunity close dates as prompts. When using the calendar picklist in responding to the date range prompts it displays the date with the full timestamp such as 12/31/2009 12:00:00 AM.
    Some users don't want to see the full timestamp in the date picker, just 12/31/2009 for example. Is there a way to truncate that full timestamp?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    change the column formula to
    cast(opportunity close date as date)
    This is going to give the users Default calender control.

  • SQL Report Region Refresh

    Application Express 4.0.2.00.09
    Oracle 11 XE
    How do I setup a Dynamic Action to refresh my region every X number of seconds? I can refresh the region easy enough on events, but I can't seem to figure out the timing thing. Maybe I just need some sleep...
    Austin

    Joe -
    Interestingly enough, I have not yet found a good way to alter the Report Region title with the last update time. I would think there is a way to do it, but I do not currenlty have that knowledge, nor the time to thoroughly investigate how to do it. I do have a bit to share about the mechanics of the refresh discussed earlier in this thread.
    Consider this code, place in the footer of a SQL Report Region:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
      var d = new Date();
      document.write("Last Updated: " + d);
      setInterval("jQuery('#INTRADAY_IRR').trigger('apexrefresh');", 2000);
    -->This will place the date as a footer to the SQL report. The javascript will then refresh the report every two seconds. (or whatever timeframe you specify) Now, in my SQL for my report, I added an additional column that is the current time. My SQL would look something like:
    SELECT foo,
            bar,
            to_char(sysdate, 'HH24:MI:SS') update_time
    FROM dualThis SQL will show when the data was last fetched from the database, while the footer of the region shows the time when the region was loaded by the browser.
    If you run the page with these, or similar, parameters, you will notice that the update_time column in the report changes with each refresh, however, the region footer does not change. This is because the script isn't called everytime the data is refreshed. This would indicate that using the methodology mentioned previously in this thread, the entire region is not refreshed but simply the dataset and the report itself. This would mean that you would have a quite difficult time updating the region title from the SQL code alone... I'm not saying it is impossible, I just don't know how to do it...
    Having said that- I do have a work around.
    Consider this as the region title:
    <div id="MyUpdatedReport" ></div>Now consider this code in the region header:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function getUpdatedDate() {
      var d = new Date();
      document.getElementById('MyUpdatedReport').innerHTML="Region Title - Last Updated: " + d;
      t=setTimeout('getUpdatedDate()',2000);
    </script>And this in the region footer:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
      setInterval("jQuery('#INTRADAY_IRR').trigger('apexrefresh');", 2000);
      getUpdatedDate();
    -->
    </script>We create a DIV tag as our header. Then we have a function in the header that updates our div tag every two seconds. In the footer, we tell APEX to refresh the data every two seconds, and we tell our function to begin working. Effectively, you have a timestamp indicating when, theoretically, the data should have been refreshed. Now, this timestamp in the Region Title is NOT the true update time, but, theoretically it should be close. You should probably test this to see if you want to use it. Personally, I don't like this solution and I don't think I would ever implement it in any sort of production application. However, in an application that is just for me, I might hack something like this up.
    The key part of this work around would be to keep your times synchronized. It would be of no benefit if APEX was refreshing the data every 60 seconds but the title was refreshing every 6 seconds. Yikes, that could confuse a few people.
    I hope this has been a help.

  • Partial Paging on Report Regions

    I haven't seem a large use of Partial Paging on Report regions on any of the example packaged application
    Is there a way I can implement partial paging on a subset of a report region ? e.g. I have a grid like the following
    project 1
    task 1
    task 2
    project n
    task 1
    task 2
    If I click on projects the tasks belonging it should expand .
    In my ASP application I just hide and display with DIV statements. Now I am upgrading to APEX I want to use Partial Paging. How flexible are report regions in APEX in regards to customising to this level and can it be done ?
    Stephen

    Hello,

    We will look into it. Since PPR is built in now we should turn it on pretty much everywhere.

  • How to escape special characters in a region title

    I have created a drill down report where the second report is filtered by a value chosen in the first report. I am using &Pn_field. syntax to pass the name of the select value to the region title of the second report. Some of the returned values have a ':' in them and therefore the text does not print after the ':'. How do I escape the ':' in the region title?
    regards
    Paul P

    Paul,
    I think your question is "How do I use f?p URL syntax to pass data values to a page where the data includes a colon?" (Please correct me if that's not the issue.) The answer is, you can't. Same with commas. HTML DB reserves those two characters for the f?p request syntax. You'll have to save the string into the item before the page branch. There is no restriction on what characters can be used in a region title, it's just HTML-formatted text, except that you must escape anything that looks like HTML unless you want the browser to treat it as HTML. There are restrictions, however, on what characters you can pass in URLs in general and you must take care to escape them properly, e.g., ?, &, whitespace.
    And do speak up if I've missed the point.

  • How to find orientation of  image displayed in a report region

    Hello,
    I have Apex 3.1 application showing an image in a report.
    The images are held as files on the web server and filename and description held in a database table
    I can use SQL to retrieve the data into report columns and then HTML expression to display the image as a fixed size as shown below. This works fine for landscape pictures but obviously distorts portrait ones.
    I wanted to check the orientation of the image and adjust width and height if portrait. I was considering using javascript to get image.height and image.width but am not sure how to reference the column and feed back into the HTML expression.
    Is this this the best approach and any help how to reference the column would be appreciated
    Many thanks
    Colin
    The Report Region Source is -
    select      "PHOTOFILE"."FNAME" as "FNAME" ,
    "PHOTOFILE"."ID" as "ID",
    "PHOTOFILE"."DESCRIPTION" as "DESCRIPTION",
    "PHOTOFILE"."FNAME" as "IMG2"
    from      "PHOTOFILE" "PHOTOFILE"
    where id=:P4_IMAGE_IDColumn Attributes IMG2
    Column Formatting
    HTML Expression
    <B><I><U><font face="verdana size="16"><center> #DESCRIPTION# </I></U>
    <font face="verdana size="20">&P4_DESCRIPTION.
    </B></center></font>
    <br/>
    <img src="#IMG2#" width=600 height=400  >

    This example may help you, although a bit different from what you want to achieve:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:212
    The point was:
    1. display image region should be fixed size (300px wide and 300px height)
    2. if the image size is bigger than that, the region should expand automaticaly.

  • How to Suppress Report Total When Using Sum on Columns & Break Formatting

    I need to know how to NOT show the report total line when using the sum functionality with a break in a report.
    I am summing two columns, a debit amount and credit amount. I am breaking on the first column which is the level of a hierarchical query. I want to see something like this:
    Parent Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Parent Sum $$ $$
    Child Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Child Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Child Sum $$ $$
    However, when I run the report, I also get a report total line under the child sum which is really meaningless for this report.
    I have also tried creating this report as an interactive report. When applying the sum on the two columns, I do get the sum totals on the break only - no report total - however, it is reversing the order of the hierarchical query results putting the child records first and the parent records second.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi, and welcome!
    I don't think that there's an easy way to "switch off" the Total line on a report. The nearest I could suggest would be to either hide the entire row or colour the text so that it's the same as the background - either way, the total is calculated but the user won't see it.
    If you put something like the following into your report region's Region Footer:
    &lt;script type="text/javascript"&gt;
    var outertable = document.getElementById("#REGION_ID#");
    var innertable = outertable.getElementsByTagName("TABLE")[1];
    var rs = innertable.rows;
    var lastrow = rs[rs.length-1];
    if (lastrow.cells[0].innerHTML == '&lt;b&gt;TOTAL&lt;/b&gt;')
    rs[rs.length - 1].style.display = "none";
    &lt;/script&gt;Then, on your report's Report Attributes page, scroll down to the Break Formatting section and put TOTAL into the "Display this text when printing report sums" setting. Also, in the "Layout and Pagination" section, set "Enable Partial Page Refresh" to No.
    The above code is based on the report and region templates that I'm using here: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:147] (Theme 18, "Report Region" region template and "Standard" report template). Your report may use different templates, so the first two lines on the code may have to change. #REGION_ID# would be replaced with the region's ID value (which would be "R" followed by a long number). As long as you can identify the HTML tag that uses this ID value, you can then get to the actual table that contains the data as it would be a TABLE within that tag - the [1] above is the second table within the region. In some instances, you may have to use "region_#REGION_ID#" as the starting point.
