How to Generate and Register XML Schema

Does any one know how to gererate Oracle type XML schema provided XML file and register to XMLType field?
Thanks for any expert suggestion...

The SQL statement below shows how one can register XML schema to an XMLType column:
create table po_tab(
id number,
po sys.XMLType
xmltype column po
XMLSCHEMA "http://www.oracle.com/PO.xsd"
element "PurchaseOrder";
Similarly you can register XML schema to the INVDOC field in the your INVOICE table.
Hope it helps

  • How to generate WSDL from XML Schema?

    What are reasonable strategies, both direct and indirect, to generate a WSDL from
    an XML Schema describing our messages? I'd prefer a more direct route, but I'd
    like to understand the various choices. We're currently using WLP8.1SP2.

    Hi David,
    There is a "start from schema" example that Manoj built [1] that could
    be a good choice for determining your development path.

  • How to identify objects created by registering xml schema

    Hi Everyone,
    We are using Oracle 9i Rel2. I have registered an XML schema and I saw that there were several objects created for it table ,some types and a trigger . For some build purposes I want to exclude all of these objects which are associated with xml schema and should be able to drop and recreate the whole of oracle schema.
    I see the user_types table does not have any parameter to indicate that these are autogenerated or are different. In user_types they look like any other type that a user would have created. Do any of you know how to differentiate these types created by registering XML schemas from the normal types.
    Thanks for your help

    There is no way I know of to differentiate between a type created by Schema Registration and another Type. You can query the XML Schema itslef to get the Typenames it relies on.

  • Generate + register xml schema

    Hi,
    I want to generate and register an xml schema based on the following object type :
    CREATE TYPE STRAAT_T AS OBJECT
    naam varchar2(50),
    prv_cd number(1),
    arr_cd number(1),
    gem_cd number(3)
    I ran the following pl/sql code :
    begin
    dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema(schemaURL=>'http://www.oracle.com/straat.xsd',
    schemaDoc=>dbms_xmlschema.generateschema('TEST_RKW','STRAAT_T'));
    end;
    but got the following error code :
    .ORA-31094: Incompatible SQL-type "STRAAT_T" for attribute of element "STRAAT_T".
    What is wrong with this ???
    tx for any help.

    Roger
    Since the Type already exists you need to pass the value 'FALSE', as the fourth argument to registerSchema().
    Eg
    CREATE or replace TYPE STRAAT_T AS OBJECT
    naam varchar2(50),
    prv_cd number(1),
    arr_cd number(1),
    gem_cd number(3)
    begin
    dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema('http://www.oracle.com/straat.xsd', dbms_xmlschema.generateschema('SCOTT','STRAAT_T'),TRUE,FALSE);
    end;

  • Trouble including registered XML Schema in generated XML

    Hello,
    I'm new to XMLDB, and find myself wanting to build an XML document that conforms
    to a paricular XML schema. I'm looking for help in "passing" the shema into the
    xml query, and for advice (i may not be going about things in the best way possible).
    my data comes from three different sources: deliveries, origin of deliveries (warehouse),
    and a user-defined parameter (number of vehicles). I am putting the xml data together via union statements.
    this is slightly undesireable due to the limitations on union (no xmltypes, no clobs)
    and the size limitation of the varchar datatype. If there is a better way of structuring
    the end XML document (all three sources, one output record) then please advise me.
    I am having issues "passing" the registered XML schema to the SYS_XMLGEN function,
    so if you see where I've made a mistake, please point it out.

    Hi,
    To register schema, you require XDBADMIN system privilege granted to the user.
    Please verify this and retry.

  • How can I define an XML schema for this kind of XML

    Hi, There:
    I want to generate an XML file like:
    <customer>
    </customer>
    <transaction>
    </transaction>
    <customer>
    </customer>
    which have multiple customer elements and multiple transactions as well, and they can happen in mixed sequence. Can any one give me some idea about how can I create an XML schema for this kind of xml? (<xsd:complextype> <xsd:sequence> ) seems not work)
    Thanks in advance
    David

    Use a group then make it a choice, like this;
    <xs:element name="Parent">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:group ref="Group" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded" />
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <xs:group name="Group">
    <xs:choice>
    <xs:element ref="OptionOne" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element ref="OptionTwo" />
    </xs:choice>
    </xs:group>
    <xs:element name="OptionOne">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:attribute name="name" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:attribute name="Type" type="xs:string" />
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <xs:element name="OptionTwo">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:attribute name="name" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:attribute name="Type" type="xs:string" />
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    This allows XML like this
    <Parent>
    <OptionTwo ........ />
    <OptionOne ........ />
    <OptionTwo ........ />
    <OptionOne ........ />
    <OptionOne ........ />
    </Parent>

  • How can i export a XML Schema

    Hi!
    I'm a newbie and i've export a XML file but how can i export a XML Schema from a database?
    With best regards
    Nicole

    Hi Nicole
    I never seen a tool/package/... in the DB that generates the XML Schema for a whole DB schema.
    Anyway you can find some generation capabilities in:
    - package DBMS_XMLSCHEMA (method GENERATESCHEMA)
    - XDK's utility XSU (option -withSchema)

  • How to Generate and Display SVG Graphics in ABAP

    Hi everybody,
    I tried to complete the Tutorial "How to Generate and Display SVG Graphics in ABAP, Part 1" by Siarhei Ulasenka (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ad83a990-0201-0010-d680-a189f8bc20fa).
    Unfortunately when I tried the example to display an SVG Drawing in an ABAP Report I get the error message "Es ist ein Laufzeitfehler aufgetreten, ungültiges Zeichen" (english should be something like "Runtime Error, unkown character"). But it works when I open the svgfile in a new IE Window (parameter in_place from cl_gui_html_viewer->show_url). Also when I open a svg file from the local disc it works fine.
    The code:
        CALL METHOD html_control->load_data
          EXPORTING
            url            = 'chart.svg'
            type         = 'image'
            subtype    = 'svg+xml'
          CHANGING
            data_table = lt_svg
          EXCEPTIONS
            OTHERS     = 1.
        CALL METHOD html_control->show_url
          EXPORTING
            url        = 'chart.svg'
            in_place   = 'X'
          EXCEPTIONS

    Has anyone a solution? Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello Alex,
    The Corel SVG viewer has problems loading and displaying the examples (see the list of limitations at their site). Try to use the Adobe viewer instead.

    USER_XML_SCHEMAS is the view you need to query.
    USER_XML_SCHEMAS describes the registered XML schemas owned by the current user. Its columns (except for OWNER) are the same as those in ALL_XML_SCHEMAS.

  • How to compile and register a Java CFX tag with multiple class files?

    All-
    If this is the wrong forum for CFX questions, please let me
    know.
    I need to determine how to compile and register a Java CFX
    tag that contains multiple class files. One class file implements
    the CustomTag interface and the other class files implement various
    supporting classes. All of the documentation that I have found
    talks about using a single class file. I am assuming that a JAR
    file will be involved, but I am not sure of the specifics.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    -Josh

    Yes, it will involve a jar. Use your java IDE (eclipse,
    etcetera ..) to create a jar containing all of the classes. Check
    your ide's documentation for how to create jar files. After you
    have created the jar, place the jar in the CF class path so CF will
    recognize it. For example the {cf_root}/WEB-INF/lib directory. CF
    must be restarted before it will detect the new jar. After
    restarting CF, register the CFX tag in the ColdFusion Administrator
    using the name of the class that implements the CustomTag
    interface.
    Though it is worth noting you can also instantiate java
    classes directly from ColdFusion (ie without using a CFX
    tag).
