How to get Applet size in my form ?

I'm running Oracle forms 11g, I want to center my window use the code below :
  v_app_width := TO_NUMBER(GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,WIDTH));
  v_app_height := TO_NUMBER(GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,HEIGHT));
  v_win_width := TO_NUMBER(GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(p_window_name,WIDTH));
  v_win_height := TO_NUMBER(GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(p_window_name,HEIGHT));
-- message("width" ||v_app_width);
  SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(p_window_name,POSITION,(v_app_width- v_win_width) / 2,(v_app_height - v_offset - v_win_height) / 2);This works for 6i but not working for 11g. As
GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,WIDTH)returns 0.
But once that message line is uncommented, the next form calling this center window procedure works fine.
My problem is similar with this one : http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/149809/2/ But it has no solution.
I also found this : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14099_19/winitan.1012/relnotes.1012/relnotes/forms.htm
5.1.4.1 GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY Returns 0 on Microsoft Windows
GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,WINDOW_HANDLE) returns zero even with separateframe=true. Oracle Forms Online Help states that this should work on windows platform. This is incorrect as this Built-in does not support MDI. [Edited on 3/12 4:50pm] Today I found this code does work for my first form (login form) when the application launches. After login, the rest forms can be centered very well. Don't know what's the reason.
So if this doesn't work, how could I get the applet size and center my window ?

If you want to center your window when MDI is maximized..
first create timer.. under when-new-forms-intance..
Declare
     timer_id   Timer ;
Begin
  timer_id := Create_Timer( 'laf_timer', 50, NO_REPEAT ) ;
end ;use this in when time expired.. because it will not run this procedure in when-new-forms-instance or pre-form triggers..
declare
     mh number;     rh number;     mw number;     rw number;
begin
                  If lower(Get_Application_Property( TIMER_NAME )) = 'laf_timer' Then
                         mh     :=     get_window_property(forms_mdi_window,height);
                    mw     :=     get_window_property(forms_mdi_window,width);
                    rh     :=     get_window_property('yourwindowname',height);
                    rw     :=     get_window_property('yourwindowname',width);
                    set_window_property('yourwindowname',position,(mw/2)-(rw/2),0);  /* i make 0 for the value of Y.. for i liked it on the top but you can change it too */
          end if;
end ;Edited by: ck on Mar 14, 2013 2:44 AM

  • How to calculate the size of web forms in hyperion planning?

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to calculate the size of planning forms in Hyperion smart view., but i am unable to find out the way to calculate.
    Can you pls explain how to calculate the size of web form in Smart view?
    --- Srini.

    Hi Srini,
    First, here is what Oracle says:
    Data Form Size Estimation:
    To get a rough estimate of data form size, open the data form and select File > Save As from the browser. The size of the .HTML file is the portion of the data form that changes based on grid size. The .JS files remain the same size and can be cached, depending on browser settings. Information such as data form definitions, pages, and .gif files are not compressed when data forms are opened and sent to the Web browser.
    I have not been able to find out using their method.
    In any case, you can find out the size of grid by using below
    1. Right click on the form grid and click "View source"
    2. Save the source file as "Example.html"
    3. Right click the saved file and click "Properties"
    4. The Form size whould be same as that of file..
    Let me know if it helps.
    Cheers

  • How to get the size of partition?

    The following SQL will get the rows of the fact table & aggregation. But how to get the size (MB) of the partition. select * from $system.discover_partition_stat That should be doable, because in BIDS, we can see the size of a partition, but from which
    view we can do that?

    This is the best bet you have SELECT * FROM SystemRestrictSchema($system.discover_partition_stat ,DATABASE_NAME = 'Adventure Works DW' ,CUBE_NAME = 'Adventure Works' ,MEASURE_GROUP_NAME = 'Internet Sales' ,PARTITION_NAME = 'Internet_Sales_2003') Refer

  • How to get the size of a hard disk?

    Hi,
    As above, how to get the size of a hard disk by using Java.
    Thanks you!
    Alex

    I would be interested in the answer of this question, too.
    In core Java there is no way to find it out in a platform independent manner because of the hardware abstraction of the VM. So my only idea is to write a native library for doing this and colling it via JNI

  • How to get absolute path of a form within the Forms

    Aslam o Alikum (Hi)
    How to get absolute path of a form within the Forms 6i or 9i
    For example
    i am running a from "abc.fmx" from C:\myfolder directory
    can i get the form path 'C:\myfolder' by calling any any function from "abc.fmb"

    There is no direct call that will always work. What you need to do is call get_application_property(current_form). This may have the full path in it, depending on if that path was defined when the form was launched. If there is no path, then you need to use TOOL_ENV.GETVAR to read the Forms<nn>PATH and the ORACLEPATH, parse those out into individual directories and then check for the FMX in each.
    I already have some code to do all this for you see:

  • How to get names of INCLUDE or FORM within included forms

    Hello,
    I want to get names of Include program and included form within included forms.
    I tried SY-REPID or SY-CPROG but these two SYST variables return the name of report program that performs the form, not the name of Include or form.
    Please give me any advice about how to get names of include / included form.
    thanks and regards,
    Hozy

    You can use the statement
    READ REPORT <Report name> into itab
    to read the source code into an internal table.
    Later you can use the "Contains Pattern" operator to get the statements that you need.

  • Preview Selection Tool-How to get selection size in Preview?

    One of my favorite tricks in Preview (prior to Leopard) was being able to hold the alt-key to get the selection size. Leopard killed this amazing feature and now I have to open Photoshop every time I want to get the size of something. Does anyone out the have any idea how to quickly get selection size in Preview in Leopard? I thought I would just be able to make a selection, crop the image and get the size that way, but worst of all, the image size only reflects the original image size and not the newly cropped size. The latter seems like a bug and the former is annoying.

    I've been on Leopard for a year and I was always able to just put the cursor on the image, draw my box and hit the crop button. In the last week, I've lost the ability to draw my box. It's like it's been disabled. I've restarted to no avail. This was a great little feature as I do not want to load every picture into iPhoto.

  • How to get HttpServletRequest parameters from two forms in a JSP

    I have this JSP with two forms calling the same servlet. Problem is, when I use a submit button in the second form, I am unable to retrieve the request parameters from the form through the servlet. I am wondering if anybody could give me some info on how to get the request parameters from the second form. I tried to see all the parameter names in the request by calling request.getParameterNames(). But the parameters in the second form are not even seen in the request although I am clicking the submit button in this form!

    First, two forms works fine in one jsp so no need to argue about that.
    Second, did you put the form actions and type ("multipart/formdata " ?) explicit in every form header ? Did you supply different form names ?
    Try to call the submit function through javascript - document.forms[0].submit() for your first, and document.forms[1].submit() for your second form...
    Did you forget to close the form tag by chance ?
