How to get IInfoObject's path?

I am developing a post processing publication extension to password protect pdf ( for web intelligence reports ) . For that I need the path of the source file to be encrypted.

Hi Akash,
By the path of source file, I assume that you are referring to the frs path.
The frs path can be found from the query builder.
Execute the query
Select * from ci_infoobjects where si_kind='webi' and si_instance=0 and si_id=<webi report id>
Look for the property SI_FILES. In this there is a subproperty bag named as SI_PATH which holds the input frs path for the report.
Now as you are looking to implement publication extension, you would need to use BusinessObjects SDKs to get the details.
So the work flow would be to
1. Logon to Enterprise system
2. Query the infostore to retrieve the report from the repository.
3. Call the getFiles() method on the infoobject which will return IFiles.
4. Call the getFRSPathURL() on the IFiles object, it would return the String for the frs path.
Below is a small snippet logic
=====================
IInfoObjects infoobjects=infoStore.query("select * from ci_infoobjects where si_instance=0 and si_kind='webi' and si_id=reportid ");
IInfoObject infoobject=(IInfoObject)infoobjects.get(0);
IFiles files=infoobject.getFiles();
String frsPath=files.getFRSPathURL();
=======================
More details can be found from the developers guide and api reference guide available at www.help.sap.com
Hope it helps you move in the right direction.
Thanks,

    how to get the current path of my application in java ?
    thanks

    To get the path where your application has been installed you have to do the following:
    have a class called "what_ever" in the folder.
    then you do a litte:
    String path=
    what_ever.class.getRessource("what_ever.class").toString()
    That get you a string like:
    file:/C:/Program Files/Cool_program/what_ever.class
    Then you process the result a little to remove anything you don't want:
    path=path.substring(path.indexOf('/')+1),path.lastIndexOf('/'))
    //Might be a little error here but you should find out //quickly if it's the case
    And here you go, you have a nice
    C:/Program Files/Cool_program
    which is the path to your application.

  • How to get the absolute path of logicalhost server domain on Windows?

    My logicalhost server domain behaves strangely. I am reading a file from collaboration definiton, that is located in the logicalhost/is/domains/domain1/config folder. I thought, that this folder is used as an application root folder so I can read files like ./file from there. And it worked.
    But then I've installed the domain as a Windows service, restarted the PC. When the domain1 gets started, I get exceptions saying that the file can't be found. Then I restart the domain (in domainmgr.bat) and it works again.
    I am pretty sure that using the absolute path will solve this issue, so my first question is: How to get the absolute path of logicalhost server domain on Windows?
    And my second question is: Why does this happen?

    The default folder for a Windows Service is the system32 folder contrary to the instance root folder when starting it as a normal process.
    That's the why, haven't tried the how, but you should be able to get the value by calling System.getProperty("com.sun.aas.instanceRoot").
    Hope this helps

  • Sharepoint Workflow : how to get document full path + file name into variable?

    Hi,
    Anybody knows how to get document full path + file name into a variable in Sharepoint 2010 workflow?
    Example http://sp1:80/InvoiceQueue/Shared Documents/123.pdf
    I am using List Workflow which links to a document library.

    Hi SAMSUNG,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get the full path of a document in a list workflow.
    You can set the variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the document. The screenshot is my testing. In my testing (in the red area), when the title of a document was equal to the tile of the current item, set a variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the
    document. I used ‘Log to history list’ to check the value of the variable in Workflow History .
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • How to get KD Folder path

    Hi,
    How to get the full path for a given folder ID in KD ?
    I am using Java IDK 5.3
    Looking for a method like this:
    String fullPath = getFolderPath(200);
    Thanks.

    Besides, the HTML input type="file" lets the client choose a file to upload and it only sends the file contents along the request body from the client to the server. I have reread your question over three times, but I really, really don't see any relation between that HTML code line and your actual problem. Aren't you confusing the client-server relation and the concepts behind it?
    At least I can tell you that you can't get the folder path in the server side (as asked in the topic subject), although some browsers (e.g. IE) will do this, but this is faulty and you shouldn't rely on this. Just obtain the file contents from the request body. There are parsers for this as well, such as Apache Commons FileUpload.

    Yes, config.getServletContext().getRealPath("index.jsp"); got the job done !

  • How to get the application path?

    Does some body know how to get the application path in Java? Here is an example about what I'm thinking: Let's imagin the application is on "c:\try" or "c:\ProgramFiles\MyApp". My question is how can I find the path where the application is. Please give an example if you know the answer. Thank you so much.

    Those two replies give you some useful directories, it's true, but maybe not what the OP asked. However the OP asked for something that doesn't have a meaning (applications don't have to be "on" any directory, whatever that might mean).
    Would the OP like to describe what the actual problem is here?

  • How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system

    Hi Firends,
    How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system , whenevr i will click on browse button.
    Please give reply for this one , if anybody knows.
    Thanks,
    Anderson.

    Hi Anderson,
    if you're using flash.filesystem.FileReference - then it is run in black box - except of filename, size and creation data (and few other properties available after some operation succeeded). This is part of security features in Flash runtime (described in header section):
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/FileReference .html
    This for example implies that user can download a content to local machine - but that content cannot be loaded back into Flash runtime. For this you would need either Air runtime flash.filesystem.File:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/filesystem/File.h tml
    (so you would created Air runtime based application: desktop or mobile but not web, even as standalone project) or you would need one of 3rd party tools that add file access/file information features to standard Flash runtime applications converted to standalone native applications.
    hth,
    kind regards,
    Peter

  • How to get the file path in adf application

    hii all,
    i have a txt file that i am using in my adf application,
    i am passing this txt file through a File Reader, for which i have to mention the file path.
    The file is in web-content and when i am hard coding the complete file path i.e C:/JDeveloper/myApp/ViewController/public_html/log.txt
    the application is working fine when run on integrated weblogic server.
    My requirement is to access this file without giving the static file path, as in case i have to use this application on any other machine..
    for that how to mention the file path-
    i tried using FacesContext to get the context path :-
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestContextPath();
    which gives me
    \myApp-ViewController-context-root
    after appending public_html\log.txt
    I am using the following path to access the file :-
    \myApp-ViewController-context-root\public_html\log.txt
    again i am getting the java.io.FileNotFoundException
    Does anyone know how to use file from inside the web-content without giving the complete path..???
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If you put your file under public_html folder, you can use this code to access the file:
    For example file is : log.txt
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRealPath('/log.txt').toString().trim();
    Thanks.
