How to get Javascript plugin?

I cannot load images into a layered stack in Photoshop. The error message says it's because I don't have the Javascript plugin. I have Java installed, but I don't see how to get the plugin.

How to get to plugin version

As in the sample plugins, I've defined my plugin version in the Info.lua file as follows:
VERSION = { major=0, minor=3, revision=0 },
this works fine and the plugin version is displayed in the Status section of the Plugin Manager, but how can I access this value from elsewhere in my code? I'm trying to develop a 'check for updates' mechanism but can't do much unless I can get to the current version.
I've tried accessing VERSION.major and VERSION.minor of course, but they appear to be undefined in my other Lua scripts.
Does anyone know how to access this plugin version number? I'd hate to have to define it in multiple places. LrApplication only provides version info for Lightroom itself, and it isn't defined in LrPlugin either.

Update from CS3 to CS5, how to get my plugins?

I just updated to CS5 and have two questions.
What happened with the CS3 extended Version that I had installed?
My third party plugins are installed in company specific folder in applications, such as Applications/NIK/Viveza2,or Applications/Genuine Fractals/, etc. In preferences I can only use one additional plugins folder, how do I get them all to work now?

Thank you Chris. I was not aware about that, as this is my first Photoshop Update, I started with CS3. So I have to make what they call aliases by right click and then copy them into the photoshop plugin folder.
I just learned that my plugins are not 64 bit compatible, so this has to wait.

Actually it depends on what do you want to do with the variable.
as far as assisginng value to the hidden variable is concerned it can be done this way.

while in js function you can assign vale to the hidden variable which will ultimately assign value to the JSP variable as follows.

How to get the plugin filename in which the script is written?

Hello.
I am looking for the name of the file in which a plugin script is written.
I need to get this filename to put it into a property in the dataportal when the plugin executes. And I need the name to update if the file containing the plugin script is renamed.
I didn't find anything in the DataPlugin.chm helpfile.

Hi Patrick,
That's a good product suggestion, I'll pass that on. I always just declare a constant at the top of the DataPlugin VBScript and reference that whenever I need to send the name of the DataPlugin to a particular property or include it in an error message. In practice I've found it quite rare for a DataPlugin to change its name once it's been created, debugged, and deployed.
Note that if you use a DataPlugin to load data channels into the Data Portal, DIAdem automatically adds a property to each channel with that DataPlugin name. Look at the "Data source type" property name in the Data Portal's property table, and if you want to request that property programmatically, use one of the following methods:

How to get QuickTime Plugin to play .mid files?

I have quicktime Plugin installed. It works for playing video files but I can't get it to play .mid files in browser. Firefox asks me to download the file first, even though through options -> application types, I have set it to use the QuickTime plugin.
I have firefox 22 and quicktime 7.7.4

Also through MIME settings in QuickTime I have set QuickTime to be associated with .mid and .midi files.

So u are right that we can not call javascript variable
in the same JSP. and pass them to the bean class.
So what I did --- I get java script variable in another JSP using
request.getParameter(); and then redirected to previous JSP.
and I have solve my problem.
Actually I had to call bean class and pass varible to the bean
method but I was getting the same problem that I disscussed but now it
has been solved.

How to get auto proxy configuration from plugin?

I need to retrieve the name of the client's proxy server to pass it along to my signed applet (because it doesn't seem to be getting the information automatically despite the fact that the java plugin is set to the use the browser settings for proxies).
The Java Plugin loads the proxy server information based on the browser preferences, but I haven't figured out how to retrieve that proxy information from the Plugin itself. Sometimes the javaplugin.proxy.auto.url system property is null, even if the browser (MSIE) is configured to use an auto-configuration script/url for the proxy server configuration. I can see in the Java Console that the plugin knows the auto-config url, so how can I access that property from within my applet?
Even if javaplugin.proxy.auto.url is not null, I don't know how to call the javascript function at that URL from within the applet to get the proxy server host name and port.
Does anyone know how to get the proxy information from the plugin?

I created a new topic because the questions about
how to detect Java Plugin in browsers are scattered
thoughout this forum.
Basically you need to employ two approaches for IE and NS.
In IE you need to try to instantiate a small applet
(not your production applet) in order to see if browser
can do it. if the browser can do it, you can make a
call applet from JavaScript in order to find version of
JRE (as well as a host of other things).
In NS you can write a simple JavaScript which will
interrogate the browser for all plugins installed. Then
ypu can make a desicion whether to pass execution to
the next(or generated) page which hosts your applet,
or ask the user to download/install a plugin.
I ecourage everybody to host a plugin on your site
rather leave default link to it which is generated by
html converter.
In order to run sample,
Prerequisites:
Java Plugin 1.3.
If you have a different version of plugin,
substitute hardcoded plugin version in JavaScript for
value that you have.
1. compile java file
2. put class file in the same directory with html file
3. load html file into the browser.
4. press "Check Java Plugin.." button
5. see it work
6. examine code
7. uninstall plugin
8. repeat steps 1 - 4
9. see it work
10. install plugin.

How to get page number from the PDF using Javascript

We are having list of Single page PDF. The pdf are named in the order,
ISBN_Author_01.PDF (with real page number as i)
ISBN_Author_02.PDF (with real page number as ii)
ISBN_Author_03.PDF (with real page number as iii)
ISBN_Author_04.PDF (with real page number as 1)
ISBN_Author_05.PDF (with real page number as 2)
ISBN_Author_06.PDF (with real page number as 3)
ISBN_Author_nn.PDF (with real page number as 500)
Here each pdf has a page number and in sequential order.
The task is to check whether all the pdfs are in sequential order (i.e i, ii, iii, 1, 2, 3). If any page is missing, the script should throw an error report.
To do this task, I am writing a Javascript to get the real page number from the PDF.
Can anybody help me how to get the page number from the PDF using Javascript.

The "real" page number within a PDF is the count of the physical page starting at 0, zero.
pageNum numPages
The number printed on each page is the page label.
setPageLabels getPageLabel
You will have to open each PDF and your script would need to know the page label for that file. I would expect you would need to build a 2 dimensional array of the file names and the page label for the page within that array.
