How to get powerpoint on MacBook pro
how do I get powerpoint for MacBook pro? I mostly need to be able to load ppt from other sources.
Are you just wanting to be able to view PowerPoint presentations? They should open in Keynote for you if you have iWork installed.
From the back of my iWork '09 package:
iWork makes it easy to exchange documents with anyone.
Open Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in iWork
Save your iWork documents as a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file.

How to get A2DP on Macbook Pro (Windows 7 X64)
I have been fighting like crazy to figure out a way to get A2DP working on my Windows 7 x64 bootcamp partition, any time I pair a stero headset (tried Dynex and Rocketfish) it detects the device but then says there are no compatible drivers for it, provides a link to Broadcomm to download current drivers, and then the installer sits there saying it can't detect any bluetooth adapters. This seems to be a common theme from searching the web as Microsoft doesn't appear to include A2DP support native in Windows 7 and requires the bluetooth manufacturer to provide this support.
Does anyone know how to get A2DP working under Windows 7 X64 on a macbook pro?I was researching this issue today as well, and so far the best I have found is:

I haven't had a chance to try it yet (I'm at work), but I will over the weekend. -
How to get iDVD on macbook pro retina display without buying disk
I just bought a new MacBook Pro and I was wondering how I can get iDVD on it without having to buy iLife again.
If you already have iDVD 7 on an install disk use that. If not, you will have to find iLife 8 or later on eBay or Amazon.

Does anyone know how to get bootcamp for macbook pro?
I have a macbook pro 13", I believe its the early 2011 model. I want to know where i can get the bootcamp software or how to download it along with the windows OS. Thanks.
Boot Camp Assistant is part of OS X.
You will have to talk to Microsoft about where to get a copy of Windows at.

How to get into locked macbook pro? Keyboard doesn't work.
Hi!
Being the clumsy person I am, I spilled coffee on my Macbook Pro. I love this computer and there is NO apple store within a good distance from me. I am currently locked out of my computer. My R, T and Y keys don't work, and it's a letter in my password. Also since I have no R, T or Y key, i cannot reset to that Utility screen. PLEASE tell me i can get into my computer or change the password somehow. I have another mac to work off of and my iPhone, all computers are set to the same Apple ID but apparently my MacPro isn't registered anymore. Im freaking out.
Please help, this was a graduation gift and I'd like to fix it up.Hello gabby_mccoy and welcome to Apple Support Communities,
Here's my stock answer about your spill:
"Whenever a liquid spill occurs the first thing that has to happen is the laptop should be shut down immediately. All power must be removed as soon as possible. It is especially important that the battery be disconnected and removed.
All affected parts must be removed from the laptop. No attempt should be made to start/restart the computer since this could potentially damage the logic board beyond all repair.
Then all affected parts would be washed in deionized water and blown dry with compressed air. (In a water spill the deionized water is probably not as critical. Depends on the mineral content of the water.) and blown dry with compressed air. This is especially true of the large chips on the logic board. Liquid can wick under them and cause havoc.
The logic board should be placed in a drying/dehumidifing oven for at least two days. Longer depending on the spill.
The keyboard is a separate matter."
Did the coffee have sugar in it? Cream? Both will make the problem worse. -

At startup I get grey screen and a folder with a flashing question mark. How do I reset my MacBook Pro to the manufacture defaults?
Click here and follow the instructions. If the computer originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, when you reach step 5, insert its original disk, restart with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.

That does not work on model year older then 2010 and really doesn't work on any older then late 2011 models.
You will need a set of original system dvd disc thjat are always sypplied with every mac sold before Lion came out. Systems older then late release early 2011 models.
If you don't have them you kcan order a replacement set from apple by calling them. Have the serial number of you mac handy. -

How do I connect my MacBook Pro to an LCD TV (with HDMI and S-Video ports)?
How do I connect my MacBook Pro to an LCD TV (with HDMI and S-Video ports)? I assume I would need to use the DVI to Video adapter that came with my computer to connect to my LCD tv. I'm just not sure which port I should use on the TV. The HDMI port is being used for digital cable.
Also, does anyone know if this can be done wirelessly? For a 2010+ MBP you can connect with a Displayport to HDMI, which will include Audio.
With older MBP you will need a displayport to HDMI, if you want audio to the actually TV, then you will need to get a cable with either digital out from MBP to the HDMI, or USB audio mixed into the HDMI

How would you upgrade my MacBook Pro 15" to maximize performance? No dollar limit.
I love my MCB, but am not technical.
Spend my money, theoretically -- If you had an unlimited budget to upgrade this system to make it fast and more efficient, what would you buy or do to it?
I'm deciding if I should scrap it and get a new MacBook Pro 13" instead. I like my MCB 15", but it seems to be getting hung up alot with the spinning rainbow, everyday apps freezing or crashing, and just slow when I have multiple windows open in Safari and Firefox at same time. I realize that the sites I browse to are more graphic intensive than they were when I got the MCB in 2008, but I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to spend some $$$ to upgrade whatever I can and save my pennies for a newer Mac in a year or two. Safari and Mail crash or get hung a lot, Photo Booth folder is mysteriously empty,
So should I expect to be able to get substantial performance improvement (speed, multi-tasking) if I upgrade whatever is upgradable?
I surf using multiple browsers and open many tabs and mail with numerous accounts and magicjack, ocassionally use iweb, pages, text, calendar, low intensity games.
Thanks for any advice and recommendations and thoughts. I'd probably get the Genius Bar to install upgrades.

Also -- it had a couple of soft drops to floor and one medium intensity drop, always on carpet. so the case (not unibody) is dented on the sides with ports. All "seem" to work fine except right side USB; looks pushed in and angled, and the plastic trim that fills in space connecting flat top of typing surface to bottom cover has a 4" piece cracked off (kind of looks like where grout would go). Devices work but if you move the wire it's power filckers off and on. Have never used firewire or thunderbolt ports on this.
I would like more USB port options (maybe a high grade extendor???) for Logitech laptop cooler, external HD, VOIP device, wired mouse, wired keyboard (I prefer wired).
Thanks again.Hello Neville,
Thanks for looking in to this and alerting me. I don't know how to interpret all the data in the descriptions of the USBs in your post (or mine, for that matter) Which descriptive line/codes show a USB 1.0 and a USB 2.0. I would like to understand how to read that.
Here's how I determined both are 2.0.
1. I checked my serial number at this Apple link and confirmed it is MacBook Pro 15" Early Version.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4132
2. Then I looked up the technical specifications at this Apple support link:
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP4
3. .Then I double-checked and looked up tech specs at this EveryMac link:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2 .4-15-santa-rosa-specs.html
Both links say two USB 2.0 ports. I just took it for granted that they are both correct.
Much appreciation for your help.

Back up the entire system onto an external drive for the last time.
Locate the original install media that came with the Mac.
Boot off the media, start up Disk Utility.
If needed, repartitiion the internal drive to a single partition (i.e., get rid of BootCamp)
Format the internal drive.
If paranoid, do a Security Erase of the drive.
Quit Disk Utility, start the OS X installer
Install the full OS X with all the trimmings onto the internal drive
When the install finishes, shut it down. Do not restart, to allow new owner to customize via Setup Assistant.
