How to get the handle of the Validation Failure Message Popups.

Hi,
I'm using Jdev 11.1.2.0
I have added validation rule(less than system date) and failuremessage("date should not after currentdate") on the date field in EO.
when I enter greated than the sysdate in date field in page, I'm getting validation failure message in a popup with ok button. its working good.
but when i click on the popup ok button, the focus should go the date field again and it is higlighted.
So, how to get the handle of the popup's ok buton? and how to highlight the datefield after clicking the popup's ok button?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

i hope that, error popup is provided by framework.. how could be possible? to catch the error popup ok button.
am not well aware of catching the error popup which is provide by framework..
but i had answer for your part of the question,
if the condition go off false means you force the cursor into date field. this is can be done using 'javascript'. unless using script you can't do that. ADF doesnt provide any force focusing feature.
please google how to focus the field.

Well using DMS is one way to get at these sorts of stats in a programmatic manner.
There's a Java API you can use, or you could call out to the Spy servlet to query the DMS stats in either text or XML form.
I don't have an MDB published so I can't show you specifiically, but here's the sort of query you can use to extract the data.

You can use the Spy console to find the table that contains the details for MDB and then take it from there.

If I understand well yor concern...
There is no way to know if a socket is still connected without using (i.e reading /writing on) it.
That's the way it works on C API layer, so it should not be defferent in Java.
For a good understanding of how TCP/IP works, if C code is OK for you, the best are Richard Stevens books.... (IMHO)

URGENT: how to get the database error message into application?

Hi, pls give some idea:
For example, the database is MS Access. When insertion failed, the getMessage() method of SQLException will print "General error", while the log file created by ODBC will be "[MICROSOFT][ODBC DRIVER]column ID no found in student table"(...just a example).
So, how to get this message in our application?

instead of using the getMessage method, have you tried something like this:

In Data Services XI 3.1 (GAd yesterday) we made several enhancements for our Try/Catch blocks. One of them is the additional of functions to get details on the error that was catched :
- error_message() Returns the error message of the caught exception
- error_number() Returns the error number of the caught exception
- error_timestamp() Returns the timestamp of the caught exception.
- error_context() Returns the context of the caught exception. For example, "|Session Datapreview_job|Dataflow debug_DataFlow|Transform Debug"
In previous versions, the only thing you could do was in the mail_to function specify the number of lines you want to include from the error_log, which would send the error_log details in the body of the mail.

JMS destinations are termed as Administered Objects.
I feel that administration of Administered objects will have to be done by an Application Server administrator rather than the client code which is using the JMS service.
The Application server would have exposed an API or a JMX management console through which the details about the queue may be viewed.

How to get the entire MIME message from a BodyPart?

I am new to javaMail and quite lost with its way of working.
I have a tool that creates SMIME stuff that needs to be put into MIME envelopes. In the same time I have to manage parsing of simple MIME messages.
My current problem is the following:
I have a BodyPart and I am testing if it is SMIME or not (with checks on the ContentType). If it is, then I want to retrieve the entire MIME message (I mean, the the whole text stuff with the headers and the -possibly- encoded64 content) as a String or a byte[]. But I haven't found anything in BodyPart that returns such a thing (everything is about the content). There might be writeTo() but it gives need an output stream that if piped in a pipedinputstream results in a dead lock...

by using any one the following
1) getAllHeaders() use the enumeartion concept and then get the values for the headers using the getHeader(enum.getNextElements())
2) or use the specific methods such as
getFrom()
getAllRecepients()
getContentType()
3) getHeader(string headername)

Hello,
There is no straight solution of this problem. You may use data validation rule instead of field validation for validation so you can at least avoid that pop up error message.
Another way is, make field mandatory via code. you can just remove all field validation then check all fields data via code and cancel the submit event.
Another way is, add custom button form for submit, then hide this button until form validation is succeed.

How to get the value from one Popup lov column to another popup lov column

I am new to oracle apex development and having the below issue.
In my application, there is a tabular form with 15 columns ( c1.. c15).
I have to populate the value of column C5 based on the selected(from popup lov) value of column C3, tried to use onchange, but didn't help much.

Oh boy, this is a fun one.
onchange should work theoretically (in this example, assume that f05 is the target column that should be set and "this" is the source item whose value is to be transferred to f05 on the same row (row 2)):

BUT the catch is of course that needs to be different for every row (can't hardcode the '2'), so you need something to dynamically create the row number component.
I wrote this for an app I'm working on that uses master-detail forms heavily (I also wrote a lot more code to read the fmap array that is in v4 so that I can reference my cells via their column name and not the numeric position (so "f05 can be determined w/o hard coding), insulating against columns moving around, columns being made display-only etc. but I won't bore you with that here unless you really need to know).

So in essence, pass in "this" which will be a reference to the current item, largely to determine what row we're on. getRow will return 1, 2, 3, etc. formatRow will take that and return 0001, 0002, 0003, etc. Once that is done, it'll concatenate with the f05 and f04 to refer to the correct columns (determining f05, f04, etc. dynamically is another matter if you really need to but I didn't want to complicate this answer too much at once).
Note: above I also use a isThingEmpty() function that I wrote. It does nothing other than check the item for an empty string, if the item is null, etc. Just do your own evaluation of empty-string, no-value, etc. there.
It would indeed be nice though if Apex had a better way to delclaratively access the tabular form items though. Despite all the v4 enhancements, tabular forms were not entirely upgraded to the same full functionality of page items.

How to get the value from Advanced table

1. You can specify required property on LOV field to "yes". For events where you wish to disable the client side validations, set the property disable client side validation to "true".
2. If above behavior is not what you are looking for, then you need to handle in AM and not CO.
a. Call an AM method from CO.
b. In that AM method, get handle of VO.
c. Iterate the VO Rows and check for your validation rules.

Actually my requirement is ,
1) I have an editable table with four columns. Where the first three colums are editable and the last column is a delete button to delete the record.
2) My requirement is such that, whenever the user edits a cell, it is not comitted on focus out but the whole row(all cells) is comitted at a time when the user hits "enter". If the validation is not successfull, the textfields are styled with error class and focuses on it.
So based on the key event on the textfield in the editable cell, i am fetching all the cells in the same row, with the below code.. and doing the save/update operation.

How to get the values from IDXML during a Pre processing

I have a requirement to validate the attributes in the IDXML request while deactivating a user. I have configured a workflow with the steps "Initiate" "Externalaction" "Disable" "Commit".

I realized that massive int objects called MAX_VALUE, MIN_VALUE and SIZE where causing the StackOverflow, so I removed them from the analysis.
This is the resultant code. But I think it isnt accurate in calculating the real size of objects being got using reflexion.
Do you or somebody have any more suggestions?

How do I get the number of messages shown in the current MessageArea

Hi there,
I try to display the messages at the top of the screen in a MessageArea inside a scrollable Container which shows only one message to save space.
In case that there are more than one message I would like to show a hint, that there are more than the displayed message.
Is there an possiblity to get the count of messages shown in the current MessageArea? I already tried to get the MessageArea and had a look at the properties of the object: No Luck

Looks like there is no such an API !!! How about implementing on our own
Take a int variable or valueAttribute "count" and increment the count after calling reportwarning or reportsuccess methods on the MessageManager.
This will give count of the exceptions that you are handling in your code.
