How to get the modified bean classname ?

Hi,
We have a product that persists the beans in an object database.
I am looking for a way a way for a client to know the name of
the WLS implemented bean, dynamically(rather than providing it manually), so that
it can do a query for the bean( in the database).
Seems, like this name iss changing from one version to another.
The dynamic bean names generated in WLS6.1 is not the same as
those for WLS7.0. And WLS5.1 didn't have this behavior.
Are you sure that there is no way we can find it? Maybe, someone
from bea will know.
Thanks,
Gurdev

Hi,
Using the Context interface (listBindings()) you can get all bindings under a
context. One can enumerate through the returned enumeration and go down the tree
if required.

  • How to get the owning bean given a java object

    Hi, is there any way - for a just-created bean instance - to know on behalf of which bean this object has been created ?
    In other words, going back from the java object to the bean symbolic name, as described in a faces-config managed-bean chunk (just the opposite of resolveVariable) ?

    If so, call this inside the backing bean: private String getManagedBeanName() {

  • How to get the UserTransaction object in  stateless session bean

    Hi, I am using jboss server and jdk5 version and using EJB.
    My Application flow :
    JSP à Action(Struts) à Service Locator à Session bean à Entity Bean(cmp) à DB.
    I tried to get the UserTransaction object in my Action. Its my code.
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    UserTransaction uTrans = (UserTransaction) ctx.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction");
    After used uTrans.begin(),uTrans.commit() and uTrans. rollback () also.
    Its working fine .
    But, I used the the same code inside in my session bean its not working.
    Stateless Session Manager Bean code :
    public class SampleManagerBean implements SessionBean {
    public void ejbCreate() throws CreateException {  }
    public void ejbRemove() {  }
    public void ejbActivate() {   }
    public void ejbPassivate() {   }
    public void setSessionContext(SessionContext sessionContext) {
    this.sessionContext = sessionContext;
         public void createSample() throws EJBException
         try{
                   InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
                   UserTransaction ut = (UserTransaction) ctx.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction");
              }catch(Exception e) {
              System.out.println(“ Exception === > “+e)
    Its throws the error ie: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: UserTransaction not bound
    How to get the UserTransaction object in my session bean. Kindly give solution the above errors.
    - Thendral

    first of all, you could just use sessionContext.getUserTransaction(). however, that would only work if your bean is using bean-managed transactions. the default is container-managed transaction, in which case you cannot get a UserTransaction object. if you want to manage transactions, you need to add the TransactionManagementType.BEAN annotation to your ejb.

  • How to get the selected value in SelectOneMenu in backing bean

    Hello all,
    I need your help. I want to have 2 select menus with the second menu's items list are populated based on the selection in the first menu. I don't know how to get the selected value in the backing bean so that I can based on that select menu to populate the second menu's item list. Basically I need to access to the UI Component of the first select Menu and retrieve its selected value.
    Could you help me out?
    Thank you very much in advance,
    Lngo

    Hi Lingo,
    There r two ways of getting the values into the list. First one is hardcoding the values and the second one is use the list and get the values into the list by firing a query in the database.
    Inorder to display the values in the second menu based on the first onces selection we need to add an attribute to the first selectonemenu known as valueChangeListener and we need to sumit the page.
    Here is the sample code
    <h:selectOneMenu id="catalogue"
                                  binding="#{urbean.catalogue}" onchange="submit()"
                                  valueChangeListener="#{urbean.categoryValueChange}"
                                  <f:selectItem itemLabel="Select Catalogue" itemValue="" />
                                  <f:selectItems value="#{urbean.catalogueList}" />
    </h:selectOneMenu>
    <h:selectOneMenu id="category"
                                  binding="#{urbean.category}">     <f:selectItem itemLabel="Select Category" itemValue="" />
                                  <f:selectItems value="#{urbean.categoryList}" />
                                  <                         </h:selectOneMenu>
    now in method called by valuechangelistener we need to write the similar code
    public void categoryValueChange(ValueChangeEvent event) {
    String rfnum = (String) event.getNewValue();
    List categoryList = new ArrayList();
    List tempList = new TablenameDAO().getActiveCatByCatalogueID(rfnum);
              for (int i = 0; i < tempList.size(); i++) {
                   Tablename tablename = (Tablename ) tempList.get(i);
                   String value = "" + tablename .getrfnum();
    String label = tablename .getname();
         if (label == null) {
                   label = "";
                   SelectItem item = new SelectItem(value, label);
                   categoryList.add(item);
              bean.setCategoryList(categoryList);
    ///getActiveCatByCatalogueID (rfnum) should bring the records which r based on the rfnum
    if u follow this process i am damsure that u will get the values in to the secondlist based upon the first list
    Thanks & Regards

  • How to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi

    Hi,
    I have a problem, I just started using LabVIEW and in particular the LabVIEW connectivity toolkit and I am lookig fgor suggestion regarding how to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi...
    Thanks in advance,
    Michela

    Hi Michela,
    since the VI you want to modify is part of a Toolkit, I suggest you to copy the whole block diagram in a new VI and then save it in a new location.
    Place the DB List Tables.vi on a block diagram, double click on it and go to the tab "Window -> Show Block Diagram "
    Select "Edit -> Select All" to select the whole block diagram and select "Edit -> Copy"
    Open a new VI and select "Edit -> Paste"
    Save the new VI
    In this way you can modify everything you want without overwriting the Toolkits VIs.
    Hope this can help.

    Is there any way to get the state apart from using

    Naturally if it is no longer in memory then that is a problem.
    >
    and also what do you mean by auditlog?
    You keep track of every change to the database by keeping the old data. There are three ways:
    1. Each table has a version number/delete flag for each record. A record is never updated nor deleted. Instead a new record is created with a new version number and with the new data.
    2. Each table has a duplicate table which has all of the same columns. When the first table is modified the old data is moved to the duplicate table.
    3. A single table is used which has columns for 'table', 'field', 'data' and 'activity' (update, delete). When a change is made in any table then this table is updated. This is generally of limited useability due to the difficulty in recovering the data.
    All of the above can have a user id, timestamp, and/or additional information which is relevant to the data being changed.
    Note that ALL of this is persisted storage.
    I am not sure what this really has to do with "offline storage" unless you are using that term to refer to backed up data which is not readily available.
