How to get the root class in call heirarchy

Hi,
Is anybody have some idea regarding the getting name of a class whose, main method was called at the time of begining. In other words if we say, how can we get the invoker class of a java program with multiple level of inheritence.
Regards

DocumentBuilderFactory factory=DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
     DocumentBuilder db=factory.newDocumentBuilder();
     Document doc=db.parse(new File(ur xml file"));
     Element root=doc.getDocumentElement();
     System.out.println("root "+root.getNodeName());

  • How to get the current class name in static method?

    Hi,
    I'd like to get the current class name in a static method. This class is intended to be extended. So I would expect that the subclass need not to override this method and at the runtime, the method can get the subclass name.
    getClass() doesn't work, because it is not a static method.
    I would suggest Java to make getClass() static. It makes sense.
    But in the mean time, does anybody give an idea to work around it?
    Thank you,

    Why not create an instance in a static method and use getClass() of the instance?

    You are better off doing this through the native SQL server tools.  You can debug your PB code to find the variables being sent to the stored proc (if any) from PB and then use them in SQL Server Management Studio or similar.

    Doug,
              I used the property loader method but I could not load the limits of any sub sequence call calling an external sequence file.
    I took the FlowRate_test.seq example from the NI Example folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2.1\Examples\PropertyLoader\LoadingLimits\LimitsFromExcelFile\UsingCVI". I created a sequence called PumpTest.seq in the same folder path. I then moved the Pump Test step from the FlowRate_test.seq to the PumpTest.seq. Now created a sequence call in the FlowRate_test.seq and called the PumpTest.Seq as the module path. When I execute the FlowRate_test.seq , I get the error as shown below:
    Attached is the Flowrate_Test.seq and the PumpTest.seq which should be there in the folder path "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2.1\Examples\PropertyLoader\LoadingLimits\LimitsFromExcelFile\UsingCVI".
    Let me know whether I am doing something wrong in this method.
    My idea is to alter the runstate variable High and Low of Pump Test in the PumpTest.seq and then run the Flowrate_Test.seq.

  • SSL client authentication: how to get the cert used in call?

    Hi !
    I'd like to authenticate my clients based on their certificate. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get the client certificate that was used for the current method call.
    I am thinking of something like this:
    SomeClass dosomething(param a, param b) {
    RemoteUser ru = getUserFromCert();
    if (ru==null) return;
    ....do the job....
    SomeOtherClass dosomethingelse() {
    ....same thing
    RemoteUser getUserFromCert() {
    Principal pr = RMIContext.getRMIContext().getSSLSocket().getSSLSession().getPrincipal();
    Is that the way to do it?
    What do I need to implement to get that getUserFromCert method going?
    Has anyone done that before?
    Thanks for any help,
    ken

    Thanks for your reply. I'd like option (b) best as well. But I think I read somewhere that the HandshakeCompletedListener is called asynchronously? Would be bad if it'd be called after a call has been handled.
    I did some more research and realized I might as well use JMX. JMX has authentication included and does remote method invocation just like RMI. There even seems to be a so called JMXMP connector which supports client authentication by certificate, which is exactly what I want. I'd probably have to rewrite some parts but it seems to be an elegant solution.
    Am I right?

  • How to get the root directory of a domain?

    I have a domain setup at
    C:\bea\user_projects\domains\myDomain
    I have tried the following;
    Getting the domain object : get attr DomainConfiguration from DomainRuntimeServiceMBean
    Get root dir : get attr RootDirectory from domain object
    It returns ".", but I need the full path.
    Is there an issue with the RootDirectory from domain object or in my approach?

    John,
    OK. If you want to go the JMX route, have a look at the CurrentDirectory attribute of the ServerRuntime mbean. It would report your directory as this:
    C:\bea\user_projects\domains\myDomain\.

  • How to get the root node for a child using connect by prior

    Hi,
    I searched at many places to do this but not able to get the exact o/p sp posting my question here.
    I have a table with parent_id and child_id columns. The levels of this parent_child can be many but my aim is to find the ultimate parent ( dont know the right term)
    like if I have a child_node= xyz and its parent= pqr and its parents=lmn which might be ultimate parent which doesnt have any further parent.
    So if i start with child_code= "xyz" then i should get the parent as "lmn" and not the immediate parent "pqr".
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Aashish

    To find the Parent on emp table:
    select empno,ename,level
    from emp
    where level=3
    start with empno=7934
    connect by  empno= prior mgrTo find the Child on emp table:
    select empno,ename,level
    from emp
    where level=1
    start with empno=7934
    connect by prior empno=  mgrBut you need to know the level or position to specify the level of parent or child. But there are some other possible options available if we can know the requirement properly.

  • How to get the current application root directory

    Hi Experts,
    I am deploying an ADF Application to a Standalone WLS 10.3. During development I am using Integrated WLS (which comes with JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0). During development, I configured my application to create log files in my local machine (where Integrated WLS is running) by using absolute path for my log file. Now, I am moving to a standalone instance of WLS for testing (before moving to production).
    Now I need to keep my log files under my application root directory. Please let me know how to get the absolute path of the deployed application root directory from WLS ENV/System property into my application's Java Code.
    I tried the below java code,
    Current weblogic server name is: " + System.getProperty("weblogic.Name") --> This gives me the name of the server where my application is running.
    Current weblogic server name is: " + System.getProperty("weblogic.Root") --> This returns NULL. How to get the Root directory of my application using some system property inside my application at runtime??
    Thanks
    Rathnam

    One method is to create a File(""); and do getPath() on it.
    At least it's worked for me.

    ADF7,
    I'm not sure I understand what you are up to.
    As far as I understand you want to get the display value instead of the index
    I use this code
        public void StatusChangedListener(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)
            BindingContext lBindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();
            BindingContainer lBindingContainer = lBindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
            JUCtrlListBinding list = (JUCtrlListBinding) lBindingContainer.get("Status");
            int newindex = (Integer) valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
            Object row = list.getDisplayData(); // Wichtig um die liste zu laden!!!!
            Row lFromList = (Row) list.getValueFromList(newindex);
            Object lAttribute = lFromList.getAttribute("Value");
            String newVal = (String) lAttribute;
        }to get the value from a selectOneChoice component...
