I assume you want to know the size of the biggest file stored in the content server don't you?
This information is available through the content server API layer only - so better open this question in the knowlegde management forum.

How to Get Resource value which are referred in code behind file using IResourceProvider

Hi Everyone,
Currently I'm working on moving the Resource file from "App_GlobalResources" to Database by using IResourceProvider. I created a CustomResourceProvider project using ResourceProviderFactory and able to get the resource values from DB which
are used in aspx page.
But i'm not able to get the values which are referring from code behind file.
Ex: Label1.Text = Resources.Common.Car; // This is still coming from resx file.
Can any one please let me know how to get the value from DB instead of resx file which are referred in cs file.
Appreciate your help.
The below code uses the ResourceProviderFactory which calls this method and gets it from DB. Please let me know if you need any more info.

How to get component from which PropertyChange is activated

I have a PropertyChangeListener on JInternalFrames. The frames are added using same method. I need to know from which component (frame) the 'close'-property is changed. I cannot figure out how to get it.
When a propertychange is fired, how do i know from which componen (frame) it is fired?

Indeed no need to cast.
When i click 'close' in the upper right corner of the JInternalFrame, the handler is executed and e.getPropertyName results in "closed". So, the correct property is activated but the problem was, how to detect from which JInternalFrame it was originated? The only way to find out from which panel the 'close'property is activated seems to be a test on the 'instance' (as in the example). Don't know if there is any way to check the panelname itself? It would be something like: e.getSource().getComponentName()

How to get activity (outcome) which navigated to current view

Hi!
Is there a way to get activity (outcome string) that was cause of navigation to current view? For example, I have a view named SearchPage and I can navigate to this page from two outcomes (success and failed) from some taskflow (for example, the EditItem taskflow). I want to detect from which outcome (success or failed) I have returned to SerachPage. How to get this? I know I can use output parameters from taskflow, but I would like to simplify the case so I don't have to deal with output parameters but to rely on navigation rules / outcomes.

Unless I misunderstand your use case, this should really be a task flow input parameter previously set using a method call activity preceding the task flow call. From what I understand, you have 2 options:
Option 1
EditItem task flow:
state1
someTransition
--> state2
    success
    --> method call that set a request attribute to success
    --> call the task flow, passing the request attribute as an input parameter
    failure
    --> method call that set a request attribute to failure
    --> call the task flow, passing the request attribute as an input parameter
Option 1
EditItem task flow:
state1
someTransition
--> state2
    success
    --> call the task flow, passing success as an input parameter
    failure
    --> call the task flow, passing failure as an input parameterPersonally I prefer the first option as I prefer to duplicate method call state than task flow calls for easier maintenance as I consider task flow call to be more complex activities than simple method calls and thus prefer to duplicate the latter over the former.

Presumably you are calling a C library method that returns a handle.
Normally a handle will be a integer type value.
With such a value you can cast it into a java integer type and then cast it back in different JNI code by passing it to those routines.
A java long is as big as you can get and will hold most every normal type handle item. You should however verify sizes.

How does Goods Issue know which Batches to deallocate from A/R Credit Memo?

I am creating an addon that runs after a A/R Credit Memo is created. It creates a Goods Issue, and enters the Item Code and the Quantity from the line items on the Credit Memo into the Goods Issue.
After it writes the Goods Issue to SAP, I open up the document it created and see that the line items are in there correctly, and that somehow the batches assigned to those line items are also in there.
There is nothing in the code that does anything with the Batches, but somehow SAP knows which batches to work with.
I haven't been able to find any info about it. Can you please help us understand what is happening? How does SAP know and make assignments to batches in line items in Goods Issues?

Sorry Gordon, I'm quite sure you misunderstood Michael original question. Michael asked how the add-on he created could link corresponding batch number from an A/R Credit Memo document could be selected by Goods Issue document which generated by the add-on, while he actually never wrote a code to select any batches numbers which available in the system.
Maybe a little bit of illustration:
1. Item A, qty 10 - (batch A qty 5, batch B qty 3, batch C qty 2)
2. A/R Credit Memo occurred, return of Item A with 3 qty (batch A qty 1, batch B qty 1, batch D qty 1). Therefore, item A latest position should be (batch A qty 6, batch B qty 4, batch C qty 2, batch D qty 1). This A/R Credit Memo created by add-on.
3. Goods Issue document triggered by add-on. The problem is, Michael never write any code to select any batch numbers, and somehow the system choose batch number precisely as occurred in number 2 (A/R Credit Memo document), which is (batch A qty 1, batch B qty 1, batch D qty 1). Therefore the stock position for Item A back to as being displayed in number 1.
I believe this shouldn't be possible at all. Unless, there is a certain mechanism in SAP that automatically choose batch number to used in Goods Issue document using LIFO (Last In First Out), which is, as far as I know never exist in any SAP B1 version. Yes you could automatically choose batch numbers according to available batch, but you could do this when system prompt you when you tried to issue certain document using SAP application itself, not using add-on.
And of course, you could write a code to choose certain batches based on certain A/R Credit Memo, but still, you need to write a code, you can't do this without a code, selection of batches is compulsory when you tried to add a goods issue document which consist of items that managed using batches.
In my opinion, I think it is better for you to re-write those codes and relate batches you want to attach with your Goods Issue document based on corresponding A/R Credit Memo. It is much safer, and the error message you encountered won't happen again in the future.

Applications: How does OS X Know Which App to Reference a File to?

I just got my new Macbook and while installing applications, a question I've had for a while came up again.
How does OS X know to reference applications to certain file types?
For example. I have a .avi I downloaded to watch, and downloaded VLC to watch it. I open the .dmg and drag/drop VLC to my Applications folder. Instantly, VLC appears in the "Open With" list for my .avi. How does it know to list it?
My theories are:
1. When dragging/dropping VLC, it's not just copying files, it's also doing some background stuff, including VLC telling OS X that it should be referenced for .avi files
2. When I "Open With" a file, OS X looks at apps in my Applications folder and detects applicable ones in some manner.
3. It's Voodoo magic.
How does it work? I hope my question makes sense.

From what I understand, the second the .dmg is opened and VLC is seen by OS X as an application, Launch Services asks VLC what filetypes to associate it with, and adds that to the database? Then when I try to "open with" a .avi, it sees that .avi is associated with QuickTime, and now VLC too.
that's right. inside the VLC application bundle there is a file called info.plist which contains among other things the info about which files VLC can handle. that file is consulted by the Launch services once it becomes aware of VLC being present in the system and that info is recorded in the launch services database. That's how it works with all applications. you can view this file if you want. control-click on VLC in finder and select "show package contents". in the new finder window that opens up go to Contens folder and quicklook the file info.plist.

How to get the SQL which invoked a trigger

I have a table from which the rows are getting deleted without our knowledge.
To track this I've put a trigger on delete of this table. I want to know which SQL is actually invoking this Delete trigger so that I can capture it inside the trigger and log it somewhere so that I can analyze from where this SQL is fired.

If possible try and explore the FGA (Fine Grained Auditing) option . You may not need to create any triggers on the table and look up V$ views.
Instead, define a RULE on the table. FGA will track the DML operation performed based on the RULE you defined
i.e Consider a policy/Rule defined on the table TEMP as follows.

DBA_FGA_AUDIT_TRAIL view can then give you all the information required.
You will need to have execute privilege on DBMS_FGA package.
FGA will help if you are on 10g. In 9i it has a limitation – It can only use SELECT and not the other DML operations. So if you are on 9i, follow what the other members have mentioned ‘cause FGA will not be of much help to you.
I[b] have not used this feature - Maybe you can give it a try and update the forum members. The limitation using FGA is that Auditing on the table is still enabled when ROLLBACK statement is issued.
My preference will be using this feature instead of writing triggers on the table.

To understand what is the transports, you need to understand the structures of the included tables, views, etc. Or at least be able to look the table information up in SAP.
For your example, table T001B (Permitted Posting Periods).
You can go to SE11 to see the fields in the table.
You can use SE16 to view the contents.
In this example you would be transporting the following:
T001B
20000001 ZZZZZZZZZZ
or
200 0 0001 ZZZZZZZZZZ
Client                           = 200
Record Type                 = 0
Posting Period Variant = 0001
To account                    = ZZZZZZZZZZ

With iPhone 4, Voice memos and a faulty Sync, does anyone know how to get a VM which didn't sync at the time into the computer?

I have an iPhone 4 ISO 7and an iMac with Mavericks. During a sync with my phone there was a glitch and VM's did't get onto the computer. They are still on the phone. Is there a way of getting them onto the computer? Further attempts at sync were no solution. the computer will not read them it seems.

After spending 2.5 hours on the phone with Apple, the solution was to edit it, trim a second or 2 off one end, save it as new and the computer would recognize the new file. Great. Thanks. John

          use connection pools/txdatasources/JTA in my application. Now when a JTA transaction
          (UserTransaction) is active - I want to take a connection from the pool and do
          some operation and commit it independently of the UserTransction commit/rollback.
          Its pretty much like this - 3 components A , B, C (none of them are EJBs) are
          involved in a UserTransactions and all of them access database via a TxDataSource
          (say TD) which points to a connectionpool (say CP). Now I want B to get a connection
          handle which is not participating in the main transaction - so that the operation
          that B does is independent of what happens to the main transaction. Now I know
          I can use TransactionManager api to suspend a UserTransaction and then let B take
          a connection from the pool and commit it and then resume the transaction. But
          is there any easier way out of it? Like if B uses a DataSource instead of a TXDataSource
          - will that give B a connection which is not part of the main transaction? if
          not then whats the difference between DataSource and TXDataSource? Any help is
          appreciated.

I would recommend that you mark the method as NotSupported or
          RequiresNew rather than using DataSource or suspending/resuming
          transactions on your own.
          If anything, it will be much clearer to the next person who maintains
          your code.
