How to handle Mouse listener (Clicked) in JGraph

Hi Guys,
I am doing a project using JGraph with SWING.
How to handle Mouse events such as pressed or Move using JGraph in each of the node (Vertex&Edge).I have already tried a example which is presented in JGraph manual. But unable to fix the problem.Kindly help me

i have not used JGraph before, but i think its event handling is equal to anyother swing component. so what exactly is the problem you can't solve?

    Its better you create your own panel to display each of the files, than to display the first element of the 'toGetFileView.getComponents()' In this way, you can add a mouse listener to each of those elements.

  • How to set mouse listener for title bar of JFrame ?

    Hi, all
    How to we can set mouse listener for title bar of JFrame ?
    Please help

    Again, why did you not state this in your original
    question? Do we have to ask you every time what your
    actual requirement is?
    As I said in your last posting, if you don't give us
    the reuqirement in you question we can't help you.
    Sometimes your solution may be on the right track
    sometimes it isn't. We waste time guessing what your
    are trying to do if you don't give us the
    requirement.
    I gave you the answer in your other posting on this
    topic. The AWTEventListener can listen to events
    other than MouseEvents.
    The Swing tutorial has a list of most of the events.
    Pick the events you want to listen for:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/events
    /handling.htmlthe first, i am sory because my requirement not clear so that it wasted everybody time.
    The second, thank for your answer
    The third, AWTEvenListener do not support listener event on title bar
    but ComponentListener can know when we can change frame position.
    please see below that ComponentListener can handle action:
    public void componentHidden(ComponentEvent e) {
            displayMessage(e.getComponent().getClass().getName() + " --- Hidden");
        public void componentMoved(ComponentEvent e) {
            displayMessage(e.getComponent().getClass().getName() + " --- Moved");
        public void componentResized(ComponentEvent e) {
            displayMessage(e.getComponent().getClass().getName() + " --- Resized ");
        public void componentShown(ComponentEvent e) {
            displayMessage(e.getComponent().getClass().getName() + " --- Shown");
        }Thanks for all supported your knowledge, you are great !

  • How to handle mouse and/or keyEvents before JTable handles them

    Just studying Jtables, but I do not understand some principles. one of the problems is which method in which class do I have to overwrite, so that I can handle mouse and keyboard-Events?
    I believe,Using a glasspane is to complicated!
    CAn somebody please "put my nose" into the right direction ?
    Nice Sunday to You all.
    Thanks
    Hanns

    Look at JComponent. You can override the methods:
    public void processMouseEvent(MouseEvent e)
    public void processMouseMotionEvent(MouseEvent e)
    protected boolean processKeyBinding(KeyStroke ks, KeyEvent e, int condition, boolean pressed)
    As of 1.3 the existing key events can be overwritten ( or you can add your own defined key events) by using input and action maps.
    You can add bindings for any keyStroke and add your own defined action this way:
    int i = JComponent.WHEN_ANCESTOR_OF_FOCUSED_COMPONENT;
    m_table.getInputMap(i).put( KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_TAB, 0, false), "Tab - P");
    m_table.getActionMap().put("Tab - P", new TabAction());
    private class TabAction extends AbstractAction
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae)
    //define what you want tab to do here
    You can get rid of the key/keyaction this way:
    m_table.getInputMap(i).put(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_ESCAPE, 0), "Quit - P");
    m_table.getActionMap().put("Quit - P", null);
    You could use java's pre-defined action this way:
    Object tab_action_key = m_table.getInputMap(i).getParent().get(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_TAB, 0));
    m_table.getInputMap(i).put(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_ENTER, 0), "Enter - P");
    m_table.getActionMap().put("Enter - P", tab_action_key);

  • How to handle mouse click event on up-arrow of JSpinner?

    Hi Everybody,
    I have a JSpinner component holding a date field in it (dd/mm/yyyy). I have handeled keyboard up and down arrow key events for the component and that's working as expected. Now I want to make it work for mouse clicks on the up (UP_ARROW_SUBCOMPONENT) and down arrow (DOWN_ARROW_SUBCOMPONENT) buttons of the component.
    Could somebody guide me how to do it? My investigatoin hints me to use JSpinnerMouseEventData but I am not exactly getting how to get it done.
    Thanks in advance!

    if you just want to add a mouseListener to the spinner's buttons, try this
    (only coded it for the up/next button)
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    class Testing
      public void buildGUI()
        JSpinner spinner = new JSpinner(new SpinnerNumberModel(50, 0, 100, 5));
        spinner.setUI(new javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicSpinnerUI(){
          protected Component createNextButton()
            Component c = super.createNextButton();
            c.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter(){

        f.pack();

  • How to handle both single click and double click from mouse

    hey,
    I looked in past threads and didn't get a proper answer for capturing both single and double click from the mouse.
    in most applications the single click action does not interfere with the double click action, for example in a text editor, single click sets the cursor in between the text, double click marks a word, triple click marks a sentence, they do not bother each other, they all can happen first the single then the double and then the triple, but what if i have a very distinct action for each of the actions, the e.getClickCount() returns every time the number of clicks and if i use
    if(e.getClickCount()==1)
        doSingleClick();
    if(e.getClickCount()==2)
        doDoubleClick();it will always do first the single click and then the double click, which works fine with the example i gave, but not with what i want to do, so i was thinking to over come this that i will use another thread to run my tasks if dt has past since the last click and by the last click counts to perform the correct action and go to sleep until the next mouse click notify it, what do you think?
    run this to get what i mean...
    package blah;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;

    public class MouseClickTest {

  • Handle Mouse listener in JComboBox

    Hi there,
    How can I handle MouseListener in a JComboBox?
    I used addMouseListener to handle JComboBox as in any other Swing and AWT components. But the method seems like doesn't work with JComboBox.
    eg:
    public class AllMouseListener extends MouseAdapter implements MouseMotionListener{
    ......//includes all methods to handle mouseClicked, mousePressed, mouseDragged,...
    JComponent comp = null;
    if(.........){
    comp = new JComboBox( new String[] {"JComboBox","Add items..."} );
    comp.addMouseListener(this);
    comp.addMouseMotionListener(this);
    }//end class
    Can any one helps me on this? why doesn't it work? doesn't JComboBox listen to mouse event???
    Thanks and appreciate for any reply!
    Regards,

    hi , i also had this problem but i did one thing for this, then problem has solved :
    you have to definne UI for combo box like this:
    myCombo.setUI( new MuComboUI() );
    and in UI write this :
    class ComboUI extends BasicComboBoxUI {
    //..... define some UI here
    then after setting UI u can add myCombo.addMouseListener( new MyMouseListener() );
    then u can get mouse event i hope :)

  • How to add mouse listener for a single row alone

    I have a requirement. In a JTable when I double click a particular row the cells in the row should set to the width which I have provided.
    The problem with my code is when I click fourth row in the table, the first row gets adjusted.
    So how I need help is
    only if I click the first row, the first row cell size should get adjusted not when I click fourth row.
    Similarly if I give some cell width and height for fourth row cells, then when I double click the fourth row, the fourth should alone get adjusted and not the other rows.
    Hope I have explained clearly.
    How can it be achieved?

  • How to handle check box click in ALV grid

    Hi Experts,
    I use ALV grid using FM.
    I have list of delivery note items with one custom field as check-box. When I check the checkbox, all other lines related to the same delivery note should be automaticaly checked.

  • How to activate mouse right click  on a JTree PATH

    Hi,
    I'm trying to generate a pop menu in a Jtree on mouse event right click.
    So far it is okay, but the problem I have now is to popup the menu only if a precise element of the Jtree is selected.
    Here is some pieces of my code :
    private void fill_panelCenter() {
    stmt.init(conn.getconn());
    ttree.build_root(racine, stmt.getTables(), stmt.getViews(), stmt.getIndexes(), stmt.getPackages(), stmt.getProcedures(), stmt.getFunctions());
    NewTree = new JTree(ttree.getracine());
    NewTree.setBounds(new Rectangle(0, 0, 288, 677));
    trexTree.setVisible(false);
    NewTree.setVisible(true);
    NewTree.addTreeSelectionListener(new TreeSelectionListener(){
    public void valueChanged(TreeSelectionEvent e)
    popup.add("Edit");
    NewTree.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter() {
    public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) {
    NewTree_mouseClicked(e);
    jScrollPane1.getViewport().add(NewTree, null);
    panelCenter.add(jScrollPane1, null);
    private void NewTree_mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) {
    if (e.get && e.getButton() == 3) {
    popup.show(e.getComponent(), e.getX(), e.getY());
    }

    Hi,
    Thanks for tip, well i didn't use exactly what was there but it help me
    make my own.
    And i find it a bit more simple so for anybody who that might help :
    NewTree.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter() {
    public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e) {
    if (e.getButton() == 3) {
    TreePath path = NewTree.getPathForLocation(e.getX(), e.getY());
    if (path != null) {
    popup.show(NewTree, e.getX(), e.getY());
    Remember to replace NewTree by your own !
    :-D
    Well well I just need to make the path selected now .... I mean after the right click so the user knows which path he has selected.
    Any ideas ?

  • How to catch mouse right click?

    isRightMouseButton(MouseEvent) is not recognized
    by the compiler. What shall I import to get isRightMouseButton()
    pass the compiler? Thank you. (I did have
    javax.swing.*; and javax.swing.event.*)

    Right...note that Java 1.5 supports static imports
    that solve this exact issue.If you think it's an issue that needs resolving, that is. I think it's just asking for less-readable code.

  • How to add own Listener?

    Hi!
    The problem is that I have inherited the class MyTrayIcon from TrayIcon with implementing of MouseListener interface to handle mouse double click. But TrayIcon doesn't have method 'addMouseListener' as MyTrayIcon doesn't. So, how can I add listener is this case?

    How about looping through the array of listeners and
    removing it if it's an instance of ListListener?
    if (eventListeners[index] instanceof ListListener)
    removeMouseListener(eventListeners[index]);I thought of that, but as I said i my post, eventListeners[] is protected.
    How about writing your own ListListener in the
    appropriate package which does precisely nothing, and
    making sure it goes in the CLASSPATH before the
    package you're supposed to use?Nice idea, but unfortunately, when I submit the assignment I have no way of making sure that it does go into the classpath before the package.
    Thanks for your help, but I think I'll have to stick with the workaround.
    It's not too hard:  public static void setListData(DefaultListModel model, Object data[])
        model.clear();
        for (int i = 0; i < data.length; i++)
          model.addElement(data);
