How to handle multiple spatial operators and\or-ed in 10g express(locator)?

I've noticed that I cannot run certain queries in 10g express, which run perfectly in 10g enterprise.
The following query is an example:
SELECT S_ID, SDO_NN_DISTANCE(1) from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE(GEOM, mdsys.sdo_geometry(2001, NULL, sdo_point_type(441702.780259307,6445401.66207384,NULL), NULL, NULL), 'distance=17.4620649504359') = 'TRUE'
AND
SDO_NN(GEOM, mdsys.sdo_geometry(2001, NULL, sdo_point_type(441702.780259307,6445401.66207384,NULL), NULL, NULL), 'sdo_num_res=10', 1) = 'TRUE';
In the express edition the query results in an error message:
ORA-13249: SDO_NN cannot be evaluated without using index
But if I split the select into two seperate selects, I get no error:
SELECT S_ID from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE(GEOM, mdsys.sdo_geometry(2001, NULL, sdo_point_type(441702.780259307,6445401.66207384,NULL), NULL, NULL), 'distance=17.4620649504359') = 'TRUE';
SELECT S_ID, SDO_NN_DISTANCE(1)  from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_NN(GEOM, mdsys.sdo_geometry(2001, NULL, sdo_point_type(441702.780259307,6445401.66207384,NULL), NULL, NULL), 'sdo_num_res=10', 1) = 'TRUE';
Moreover I've found that inner select also seems to work as a workaround.
So the following query is valid in the express edition:
SELECT S_ID, SDO_NN_DISTANCE(1)  from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_NN(GEOM, mdsys.sdo_geometry(2001, NULL, sdo_point_type(441702.780259307,6445401.66207384,NULL), NULL, NULL), 'sdo_num_res=10', 1) = 'TRUE'
AND
S_ID in (
SELECT S_ID from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE(GEOM, mdsys.sdo_geometry(2001, NULL, sdo_point_type(441702.780259307,6445401.66207384,NULL), NULL, NULL), 'distance=17.4620649504359') = 'TRUE');
Could someone please explain to me why the first query is invalid in the express edition?
...or am I doing something wrong?

SDO_RELATE returns some strange results though.
If I use mask=inside for a given query I get 69 rows, and for mask=overlapbdyintersect I get 15 rows.
But if I use mask=inside+overlapbdyintersect, I only get 50 rows.
Then again if i use UNION ALL, for speed as the manual hints about, I get 84 rows as result if I combine the two.
Isn't this a bit odd?
Any explanation for this kind of behavior?
examples:
INSIDE(69) + OVERLAPBDYINTERSECT(15) = 50 (Strange)
SELECT count(S_ID) from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_RELATE(GEOM, SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY
*('Polygon((441029.298070891 6445795.42259877, 441320.756519155 6445767.05053744, 441318.177240852 6445527.17765524, 441029.298070891 6445795.42259877))'),*
*'mask=INSIDE+OVERLAPBDYINTERSECT') = 'TRUE'*
INSIDE(69) + OVERLAPBDYINTERSECT(15) = 84 (Correct)
SELECT S_ID from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_RELATE(GEOM, SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY
*('Polygon((441029.298070891 6445795.42259877, 441320.756519155 6445767.05053744, 441318.177240852 6445527.17765524, 441029.298070891 6445795.42259877))'),*
*'mask=INSIDE') = 'TRUE'*
UNION ALL
SELECT S_ID from MAP.BYGG_POLY
where
SDO_RELATE(GEOM, SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY
*('Polygon((441029.298070891 6445795.42259877, 441320.756519155 6445767.05053744, 441318.177240852 6445527.17765524, 441029.298070891 6445795.42259877))'),*

  • How to handle multiple tables data in Entity Beans?

    How to handle multiple tables data in Entity Beans?
    i mean, my bean (non trivial) is responsible for frequent
    insertion in one table and some deletion on another table.
    Can anyone of you...please..?

    Is your data model right? If you are adding in one and deleting in another it sounds to me more like a process that an entity, in which case you may revisit your data model and simplify it, add in a session bean with the process method to co-ordinate between the two.
    However, if you want to map multiple different tables within a single entity bean it is possible and just part of the mapping. How you actualyl specify it depends on which implementation you are working with.
    Cheers,
    Peter.

  • How to handle multiple datasources in a web application?

    I have a J2EE Web application with Servlets and Java ServerPages. Beside this I have a in-house developed API for certain services built using Hibernate and Spring with POJO's and some EJB.
    There are 8 databases which will be used by the web application. I have heard that multiple datasources with Spring is hard to design around. Considering that I have no choice not to use Spring or Hibernate as the API's are using it.
    Anyone have a good design spesification for how to handle multiple datasources. The datasource(database) will be chosen by the user in the web application.

    Let me get this straight. You have a web application that uses spring framework and hibernate to access the database. You want the user to be able to select the database that he wants to access using spring and hibernate.
    Hopefully you are using the Spring Framework Hibernate DAO. I know you can have more that one spring application context. You can then trying to load a seperate spring application context for each database. Each application context would have it's own configuration files with the connection parameters for each datasource. You could still use JNDi entries in the web.xml for each datasource.
    Then you would need a service locater so that when a user selected a datasource he would get the application context for that datasource which he would use for the rest of his session.
    I think it is doable. It means a long load time. And you'll need to keep the application contexts as small as possible to conserve resources.

    Hi Srini !
    This weblog shows the general design of a scenario with BPM

    This link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/de/766840bf0cbf49e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
    show how to insert a predefined BPM pattern. You could use one of the BpmPatternSerialize.... patterns to see how you BPM should look like...
    Basically it should be:
    1) Receive Step (async/sync, as you need) to trigger the BPM
    2) Send step (sync) for first webservice
    3) Send step (sync) for second webservice
    N) Send step (sync) for N webservice
    N+1) if the whole communication is sync, here you need to use a send step to return back the answer to sender.

    Hi,
    To my understanding you should be able to attach the same cryptomap to the other "outside" interface or perhaps alternatively create a new crypto map that you attach only to your new "outside" interface.
    Also I think you will probably need to route the remote peer ip of the VPN connection towards the gateway IP address of that new "outside" and also the remote network found behind the VPN connection.
    If you attempt to use VPN Client connection instead of L2L VPN connection with the new "outside" interface then you will run into routing problems as naturally you can have 2 default routes active at the sametime (default route would be required on the new "outside" interface if VPN Client was used since you DONT KNOW where the VPN Clients are connecting to your ASA)
    Hope this helps

    thanks all...

    Please stick with the original thread http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5200413&tstart=0
    Cross-posting is very rude, and JSch has nothing to do with JSSE, directly. It is an SSH2 API. It does (AFAIK) use some parts of JSSE, but those parts are definately not your problem.
    You already have answers in the other thread.

  • How to handle multiple save exceptions (Bulk Collect)

    Hi
    How to handle Multiple Save exceptions? Is it possible to rollback to first deletion(of child table) took place in the procedure.
    There are 3 tables
    txn_header_interface(Grand Parent)
    orders(parent)
    order_items (Child)
    One transaction can have one or multiple orders in it.
    and one orders can have one or multiple order_items in it.
    We need to delete the data from child table first then its parent and then from the grand parent table.if some error occurs anywhere I need to rollback to child record deletion. Since there is flag in child table which tells us when to delete data from database.
    Is it possible to give name to Save exceptions?
    e.g.
    FORALL i IN ABC.FIRST..ABC.LAST SAVE EXCEPTIONS A
    FORALL i IN abc.FIRST..ABC.LAST SAVE EXCEPTIONS B
    if some error occurs then
    ROLLBACK A; OR ROLLBACK B;

    If you have one or two places in your code that need multiple exceptions, just do it with multiple catch statements. Unless you are trying to write the most compact Programming 101 homework program, inventing tricks to remove two lines of code is not good use of your time.
    If you have multiple catches all over your code it could be a code smell. You may have too much stuff happening inside one try statement. It becomes hard to know what method call throws one of those exceptions, and you end up handling an exception from some else piece of code than what you intended. E.g. you mention NumberFormatException -- only process one user input inside that try/catch so it is easy to see what error message is given if that particular input is gunk. The next step of processing goes inside its own try/catch.
    In my case, the ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException and
    NumberFormatException should be handled by the same way.Why?
    I don't think I have ever seen an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException that didn't indicate a bug in the code. Instead of an AIOOBE perhaps there should be an if statement somewhere that prevents it, or the algorithm logic should prevent it automatically.

  • Urgent : OBIA - Handling multiple Global, Local and Document Currencies

    All,
    I need input on how to configure multiple currency codes in DAC for OBIA 7.9.6.x
    My client's business goes around the the world and with multiple local currencies.They also need reporting currency to be multiple like in Euro, USD etc.
    I went through a couple of threads in this forum,like -
    Re: Configuring Global Currencies in BI Apps 7.9.6 for EBS 11.5.10 Source
    Re: How we are using Global, Local and Document Currencies  in DAC.
    But I have some confusion regarding the configuration of DAC's 3 Global currency codes.
    In order to fulfill my requirement - should I add additional codes in DAC?
    Basically How am I supposed to handle multiple Local,Document and Global currencies? And then possible changes in rpd/reports required also?
    Regards,
    Krish

    Currencies are discussed in the Setup and Configuration Guide here:
    7.1.1.2 How to Configure Global Currencies
    To configure the global currencies you want to report in your warehouse:
    In the DAC Client, display the Design view.
    For more information about logging into the DAC, see Section A.1, "How to Log Into the DAC Client".
    Select a container from the drop down list to the right of the Execute button.
    Display the 'Source System Parameters' tab.
    Locate the following parameters and set the currency code values for them in the 'Value' box:
    $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE (for the document currency).
    $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE (for the local currency).
    $$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE (for the global currency).
    Make sure that you spell the currencies as they are spelled in your source OLTP system.
    Save your changes.
    As far as for PLP items, those are Post Load Processing elements that perform cleanup tasks after the Base Warehouse tables have been loaded. They should never be modified and frankly run without any issues provided the rest of the plan executes properly. Do you have a specific quesiton about a PLP?

    if we use thread how to implement in servlet ?

    Serlets are already threaded. The application container instantiates the servlet, then uses this instance in a new thread for every use.
    This is the reason that you should use (almost) no instance variables in a Servlet, but rather that (almost) everything should be local to the method.

    Narasimha Rao.

    Can you have a look at this post: http://redstack.wordpress.com/2010/09/30/iteratingtraversing-arrays-in-bpm/
    It's solving a different problem, but the key is that it's using a multi-instance subprocess to iterate over an array of "things" that need to be acted in. In your case it's the set of results from the db query rather than the set of tests in the example. But the principle is the same. You'd take collection of rows from the DB and process them in a multi-instance subprocess. The text that begins with the following would be good place to start:
    "Now let’s implement the body of our process. We will use the Subprocess object to handle the traversal of the array of tests. Drag a Subprocess from the component palette on the right into the process and drop it on the line between the Start and End nodes."
    In the loop characteristics you'd define whether you want to execute serially or in parallel.

  • How to handle multiple clients with DatagramSocket

    I am trying to handle multiple clients with 1 datagramSocket bind to one port (basically I have only one port to use, and I can not use TCP or any other ports). At the server side I have two threads one for receiving packets and buffering them, another for processing the packets in the buffer and sending replies.
    I can have multiple clients sending datagramPackets to me and I will have to process the packets and send them to DIFFERENT clients. Ex. Client 1 sends datagramPacket to Server which sends the processed packet to Client 2. Also Client 2 sends a datagramPacket to Server which again processes the packet and sends it to Client1. May have Client 3 and 4 doing the same thing at the same time... and so on...
    My root class is creating the datagramSocket(somePort) and two threads (receiver and sender). How can I use the socket that I created in these two threads??
    I have done the following and I am getting "java.net.bindexception". When I am sending stuff from Client1 to Client2 everything is fine but when I start sending something from Client2 to Client 1, I get the bindexception... Client 1 is using port 3000, Client 2 is using port 4000.
    I really don't have a lot of experience in socket programming so I am not sure if there is a much simpler way to do this. I appreciate all the tips and help that I can get...

             // DA and DP are the forwarding IP and Port addresses
             // not the addresses original packet was sent from.
             try
              op = new DatagramPacket (outPacket, outPacket.length,DA, DP);
              udpSocket.send(op);
             catch (IOException e)
              e.printStackTrace();
    }Also for development and testing purposes, I am running the two clients and the server on the same machine (windows xp-32b) so all of the Destination IP Addresses are 127.0.0.1. and as I said Ports that I am using are 2000, 3000, 4000 (Server, Client1, Client2).

    Hmm I have minimized the code and it seems to be working now.
    I think I have an error in the header portion of the data I am sending, where I am storing the source IP/Port and destination IP/Port. I think the server in the middle is messing these values up while sending them to the destination Client. Because the destination client actually receives the stuff and sends the reply back to the server, but the reply packet's headers has 0/0 as the dest IP / Port...
    Server is giving me java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address error when it tries to forward the reply it received from the client2 as the address it is trying to send is 0!
    I guess it doesnt just give this error when you try to open two sockets to the same port...
    Paul, Thanks for the direction on how to proceed... took me a while get the minimized code but at least figured out the problem. Well still have to make sure that is THE problem though :)
    As far as the statics goes how can I change those to non static ones? Where do I make an instance of the top level class that creates the threads? and how do I pass the DatagramSocket to the threads/ if I dont need to pass how do I call or use the datagramSocket I created in the top level class? I mean do I still kinda have it like a global variable on the top?? A very simple example would be much appreciated...
    I think these might be really basic questions but I am having a rough time with the hierarchy in java...

    1) ViewExpiredException is handled only when no generic exception handler is specified
    2) "Regular" exceptions like NullPointerException are never handled
    My managed bean:
    @Named
    @SessionScoped
    public class MyController implements Serializable {
    /* A method that does nothing */
    public void doNothing() {
        //do nothing
    /* Generate a null pointer exception on purpose */
    public void generateNpe() throws NullPointerException {
        Object x = null;
        x.toString();
    My test page to generate the exception:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core">
    <h:head>
        <title>Test page</title>
    </h:head>
    <h:body>
        <h:form>
            <h:commandButton id="button1" value="do nothing" action="#{myController.doNothing}" />
            <h:commandButton id="button2" value="generate NPE" action="#{myController.generateNpe}" />
        </h:form>
    </h:body>
    </html>
    My web.xml:
    <!-- Redirect all NPEs to this page; this never works! -->
    <error-page>
        <exception-type>java.lang.NullPointerException</exception-type>
        <location>/error/error003.jsf</location>
    </error-page>
    <!-- Redirect all VEEs to this page; this works fine if the next section is excluded -->
    <error-page>
        <exception-type>javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException</exception-type>
        <location>/error/error002.jsf</location>
    </error-page>
    <!-- This grabs everything, even with the previous sections defined.  If I exclude this error-page section, VEE works fine but NPE still does not get redirected -->
    <error-page>
        <exception-type>java.lang.Exception</exception-type>
        <location>/error/error001.jsf</location>
    </error-page>My questions are as follows:
    1) How can we handle "regular" java exceptions like NPE?
    2) How can we define a catch-all for unexpected exception types, while still respecting specific exception handlers for VEE, etc?
    Thanks,
    Benjamin

    Is your data model right? If you are adding in one and deleting in another it sounds to me more like a process that an entity, in which case you may revisit your data model and simplify it, add in a session bean with the process method to co-ordinate between the two.
    However, if you want to map multiple different tables within a single entity bean it is possible and just part of the mapping. How you actualyl specify it depends on which implementation you are working with.
    Cheers,
    Peter.
