How to handle -ve sign in JDBC SP

Hi ,
We have sending -ve value to JDBC stored procedure where the SP type is DECIMAL.but, its giving error that "number format exception caught".
I think DECIMAL type will not be able to convert -ve sign. How can i handle this..?
ex:
input value   =  2345.00-
required output in JDBC SP is :  2345.00-
used type in SP structure : DECIMAL
Should i change SP type to some other data type to handle -ve sign ? how to do that ?
plz help
Vin

Hi Vin
I think the problem is because minus ( - ) sign at the end. Correct format should be like below
- 2345.00
You can change the format in PI mapping and then send it to SP.

  • How to handle fieldnames ending with # in JDBC receiver?

    Hello Experts,
I am developing a scenario JDBC to IDOC. I have 2 tables for  header & line item. I have to retrieve a header record first using sender JDBC & then for that header need to fetch the corresponding lineitems from second table.
We cannot have data types defined in XI with fieldnames containing # or any other special charecter. Both DB tables contain fieldnames ending with #.
For Sender JDBC, I managed it in SQL query using :
Select abc, xyz# as xyz .... from tbname
But for receiver JDBC we need to define a data type with the typical format ( Doccument format required for JDBC receiver).
Please let me know how to handle this for JDBC receiver.
Thanks in Advance & hope for a quick replies.
    Abhijeet.

    Hi Abhijeet,
If you can write a query with join( you can call join query using JDBC adapter), i think this would be a fastest way and good approch rather than having 2 JDBC call.
Another approch would be writing SP( stored procedure and then you can have your complete logic here). You can call SP using JDBC adapter.
Eventhough query would be complex...it will be one time job.:)...I am not sure about data type for handling field names with special characters.
Let me know if you need more details.

  • How to Handle the Concurrent User Operation in JDBC

Here I am updating a table base on flag field. Here I am facing concurrent user problem. Please anybody can tell me how to handle this. If anybody update a row. it should be reflect to other sessions

Make sure you are calling Connection.commit() after your update. If you are still having problems, you may need to tweak the isolation level. Different vendors have different default settings.
You could add more details to your post, like database you are using, and the errors you are seeing.

  • How to Handle SAP SUS XML Acknowledgment

    Hi folks,
I have a scenario here where the SAP R/3 system sends a Purchase Order document to SAP SUS through a SAP XI Mapping.
After processing the P.O. document, the SAP SUS system, automatically, returns a Acknowledgment message (ns: http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30) to SAP XI.
I need to implement a BPM scenario where SAP XI processes this Acknowledgment message and Logs it into my Monitor System (JDBC Adapter). Actually, the SAP XI needs to send to my Monitor System the status (Success or Fail) of the P.O. processing by SAP SUS.
How can I handle this Acknowledgment message with a BPM Scenario? Is it possible?
    Best Regards,
    Nascimento

    Hi Thiago,
Currently in BPM you can do this with ASYNC-SYNC Bridge design.
You can not dirrectly access the content of the ACK, however the BPM shows different behaviours based on the ACK status. E.g. if the ACK contains a success message the BPM will continue in its normal process, if the ACK contains a permanent error, it will either stop or go through an exception branch (provided such a branch has been defined). Have a look at the documentation: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/65ce41ae343e2be10000000a1553f6/content.htm It doesnt"t state the above mentioned behaviour in detail but says that you need to define an exception branch.
The trickiest part is always to find out, when you will get a transient vs. as permanent error ack. If you are using ACKs with Proxies refer also to this link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/29/345d3b7c32a527e10000000a114084/content.htm and this http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f4/8620c6b58c422c960c53f3ed71b432/content.htm
Receiver adapters that run on the Adapter Engine support system acknowledgments if they are requested by the sender. Acknowledgements are triggered when a message is successfully processed by the adapter or if an error occurs while it is being processed. Receiver adapters do not support application acknowledgments. The RNIF and CIDX adapters are exceptions to this rule, since they also support scenario-dependent application acknowledgments. Sender adapters of the Adapter Engine do not request any acknowledgments.
However IDoc adapter is requesting application acks. Therefore you have to disable acks for this scenario using report IDX_NOALE.

  • Handling Fault Messages for JDBC Receiver (Syn Inbound)

    Dear Freinds,
Can we handle fault messages for JDBC Receiver which is synchronous.
OB Proxy Syn  <>  IB JDBC Syn
    1. How to handle the same ? Please give some examples.
    2. Should we use Stored Procedures at Oracle side to handle the fault messages and send back as response to the Proxy Response. Will it work.
    Thanks & Regards
    K.Ramesh

    Dear Friend,
I have 2 interfaces where Proxy is OB & JDBC is IB. In the first interface both sender and Receiver are synchronous and in the second one it is Async.
In the first interface i have to send one field from R/3 table along with Native SQL query string to XI and the response of the SELECT query is sent back to the sender.
Assume if no fields are selected based on the field sent then proper error message has to be sent instead of the response message.
In the second interface i will be using UPDATE query at Asyn JDBC receiver.
How to do this if you are having JDBC Receiver.
I saw in many blogs where they had mentioned that we cannot handle fault messages in the Receiver JDBC.
    KIindly explain.
    Thanks

  • How to handle CLOB

    Hello,
In my java programme I am picking a huge data from a file and passing it to a oracle stored procedure.
In my oracle stored procedure I pick data line by line and process and to identify a new line I use CHR(10).
The problem is, the file containing the data has data in lines but when the data is read and sent over to oracle called procedure the new line is missing and the complete data is found in one line which is very huge. Hence the processing of data fails.
In Java programme, How should I read the data from the file so that the new line or line terminator remains as it is. Or the data is read exactly as it is in the file.
Also, the Oracle stored procedure argument is of CLOB type. How to handle CLOB in JAVA, that is, pass more than 32767 chars.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sanju.

Your problem is that createClob() isn't implemented until JDBC 4 (which I think will come with mustang). The usual way people deal with new Clob records on Oracle is to create the record, initially, with an empty Clob, read the record back and use getClob to get the Clob, then write to that and update the record. (Pretty aweful)
A technique I've found works on Postgressql blobs and which is probably worth a try is to write your own, minimal implentation of Clob. All it needs to handle are the length() and getCharacterStream methods (all others throw UnsupportedOperationException or similar. Try feeding one of those through a setClob(). Might work, might not.
With any luck JDBC will read your stream into the LOB as part of the setClob() action.

  • How to handle stored procedure response having multiple queries

    Hi Friends,
While working in JDBC to RFC scenario,I faced an issue that my stored procedure is having multiple SQL queries in it. First Select and then update and again some select options. So,how to handle the response of the stored procedure. I read that while using sender JDBC
    " db.processDBSQLStatement=<SQL-Select-Statement>
Either specify a valid SQL SELECT statement to select the data to be sent from the specified database, or specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure that contains exactly one SELECT statement  "
So, please suggest me is there any other way to catch the output of the stored procedure.Because, if select statement is working fine but if any other quires fails then data inconsistencies can happen.Kindly help me out.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nutan

    Hi nutan,
    >>Already exception is handled in SP.But,issue is that select will never fail so, sender adapter will get the resultset from select and continue process. But if later any other query fails in SP adpter wont be getting any response.
Along with exception you need to handle the case when some other query fails. A SP is like a procedure which will do a certain list of activities before providing the output. So during this activity if some query fail then you can send back the response with a message!!!! And in XI handle this error (by routing it to some error receiver etc)
    >>I need to try something like creating a temporary table and inserting the resultset of slect statement in that. and perform all other operations and after successful completion of all the queries.Again i want to get all the values from the temporary table. So,whether I can write such query in the sender communication channel. Please suggest me for this.
Approach looks ok, but think of the delay for JDBC sender adapter. IT will invoke your SP and will wait for it to fill a table and do all the processing. I guess this may become a issue for you.
Check on the frequency of this interface and message size before taking this design approach

Turn your checked exceptions into unchecked exceptions and retrieve the cause later:
    RuntimeException unchecked = new RuntimeException(checked);
    Throwable t = unchecked.getCause();Stephen

    Hi Ram,
the question is how do you exactly create the file and what is your type  of the  system (Unicode or Non-Unicode) in which you created it  ?
The content of the file is Non-Unicode (ISO-8859-1):
    E4 = U+00E4 : LATIN SMALL LETTER A WITH DIAERESIS
    AE = U+00AE : REGISTERED SIGN
However XML expects UTF-8 by default and there the special characters are encoded differently.

  • How to handle transactions when two different databases are involved.

consider two tables namely Table-A and Table-B part of two different databases namely ORACLE and MYSQL.
Now the project requirement is updating the Table-A(ORACLE) and Table-B (MYSQL) as one transaction. i.e. either update both the tables or rollback both the tables.
Now my question is how could i handle this situation using JDBC(Type-4) driver.Because i think at a time only one JDBC driver can be loaded into the JVM.

But anyway, you need to use distributed (XA) transactions. i believe that the latest version (5.0) of mysql actually has support for XA transactions. you need to use a to setup a distributed transaction and attach the connections for the two databases to that transaction. then it should function as you desire.
