How to handling Binary data and File operation?

Hello Everyone,
I think this question might have been asked a lot of time but I was unable to find one solution so, please help needed in this from all you guys..
I am creating a byte[] of the media files of mp4, and jpg, using the below code,,
File ff = new File(filename);
        fos = new FileOutputStream(ff);
        int b;
        byte[] f = this.getMediaFile();
        for (b = 0; b < f.length; b++) {
            if (f[b] != -1) {
                fos.write(f);
fos.flush();
fos.close();
After i convert it i have to store it in the MySql Database as BLOB object, for retrieving byte[] from the database is simple i can do that also successfully with this code.java.sq.Blob obj = (java.sql.Blob) rs.getBlob("file");
InputStream is = null;
ByteArrayOutputStream bc = null;
is = obj.getBinaryStream();
bc = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
int b;
while ((b = is.read()) != -1) {
System.out.print(b + " ");
bc.write(b);
Now the real problem is that when i want to recreate a mp4 audio or video file i am unable to do so, the file created is smaller in size and also it doesn't get played in windows default player nor VLC. I am able to get the image file of jpg format using the BufferedImage & ImageIO.writer();
How do i do for mp4 file, have no clue for that.
Pleases help out with this.
Thanks..

if (f[b] != -1) {I don't get that line. What if you try to output the data without that condition, like this:
fos = new FileOutputStream(ff);
        byte[] f = this.getMediaFile();
        for (int b = 0; b < f.length; b++) {
             fos.write(f);
fos.close();

    Raja,
    Can you be more clear ?
    Usually you load the header data one and then loop at the item data and then load the item data.
    This example should help you.

  • How to handle large data in file adapter

    We have a scenario Proxy -> PI -> File Sever using File adapter.
    File adapter is using FCC for conversion.
    recently we had wave 2 products live and suddenly for this interface we have increase in volume of messages, due to which File adapter is not performing well, PI goes slow or frequent disconnect from file server problem. Due to which either we will have duplicate records in file or file format created is wrong.
    File size is somewhere around 4.07 GB which I also think quite high for PI to handle.
    Can anybody suggest how we can handle such large data.

    You don't need to convert the data.
    Only you can do is print it in that formats, like it:
    public static String byteArrayToHex(byte[] b) {
        StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
        for (int i = 0; i < b.length; i++)
             sb.append(Integer.toHexString(b&255) + " ");
    return sb.toString();

    how to read the date and time information of a file by labview? for example, created time and modified time.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    if you need to know the last modification date of file:-
    "Functions->File I/O->Advanced File Functions->File/Directory Info.vi"
    This vi returns the value of file's last modification date. This is returned as U32 number. To see it in MM/DD/YY format you must create the indicator, right-click on it and select "Format & Precision" item from drop-down menu. Then select "Time and Date" format there.

  • How to handle errors in a file at sender side?

    Hi
    I have done a file to proxy scenario.
    I know how to handle errors on proxy.
    But on sender side when picking the file if one the record have worng fomat its throwing mapping error and its not processing any record..
    I wanted to process the records which have right format and data and  all remaining recrods which have wromg format should be send back to the sender as file.
    How to do this.
    How to handle error in sender file.
    Regards
    Sowmya

    Hello Sowmya,
    In your scenario Three ways you can validate the data.
    1) Before the data reaches into SAP system ie in XI system during Mapping or before mapping i,e in Adapter Module in the Sender side
    2) this option, is in the receiver applications side. ie. Validations will be taken care in the SAP system i.e in ABAP server proxy code.
    3)Through BPM, If Mapping Exception Occures then through exception Branch you can send bad formate file to sender again.
    Generally, it is prefer to more business critical validations in the Application System ie Receiver Application System (ABAP Server Proxy)
    In this, you can have more flexibility of the validations as you are validating some of the SAP payroll informations as Personal ID etc.
    Based on the complexity and flexibility of the requirement, you can either do this in the XI (if XI, ie Sender Adapter Module or Mapping) or in the ABAP proxy

  • Confusion regarding Binary data and byte arrays

    HI guys,
    I have a question...i am going to send some binary data...the format of that data is that first two bytes is the lenght of the data and then follows that data. Here i have one confusion. e.g. i want to say that the lenght of my data is 1000 bytes. How do i do it.
    coz if i do something like this.
    int k = 1000;//the length of my data
    String binaryString = Integer.toBinaryString(k);
    byte[] binaryData = binaryString.getBytes();
    and then if i say binaryData.lenght, i see a lenght of 10, as the binary string which
    is generated is -> 1111101000. i guess its obivious as this byte array is nothing but perhaps a character array with each character occupying one thread...so what exactly is the difference between byte array and binary data. and in the above said condition how do i send the binary data?
    Also adding to my confusion is the fact that i have a file which contains binary data, but that data is not 10010101 type of data...its just some absurd characters. How do we explain this.
    i would be highly grateful if you could explain me the solution to this problem.
    I am not getting as to how to go about it.
    its urgent..pls help...

    one sec..actually i dont want to 'read' the two bytes. That i know how to do? but The thing is that i want to write a binary stream. right? so in that the first two bytes should be the size of the data, followed by the data itself. So i want to write the first two bytes, which should contain the size of data (as a matter of fact i have that binary data in a byte array). But my question is , that if i say the size of data is 1000 (bytes , since, as i said i am gettting the data as a byte array), how do i write this in my binary stream as 1000 in this case would be an int. right? which is four bytes. So essentially that byte array (which contains binary data) i have to forward to somewhere, say X , but X reads binary data in the following way...it expects the first two bytes to give him info regarding the size of the data to follow and then it starts reading the data from the third byte onwards till the size of the data (which it got by reading first two bytes)...i hope i could communicate my confusion better this time

  • How to output binary data to VISA

    i am interfacing labview with pic microcontroller through serial port using VISA. it is a stream of digital data which is being tranmitted ,stored in microcontroller and then retransmiited by microcontroller to other device...problem is when that data is converted to string to be given to VISA it makes 16bytes out of 16bits...for example if data was "11110000" (1byte) after converted to string it becomes 8 bytes and my microcontroller thibk that 8 bytes are coming................ please kindly tell me how to transmit binary data over serial port so that bit remains a bit dont become byte............................ data is 99bytes but after passing through VISA it become "99x16"bytes........ please help me
    regards
    umair

    The attached example in 8.0 converts a U16 into two U8, builds an array and with the Byte Array to String, converts to the hex string 8000 (two bytes). Note that the string indicator is configured for Hex Display (right click option).
    Now, when you say you want to see '1000001 on the hyperterminal of other PC', you are contradicting yourself. Hyperterminal cannot be set for binary display so if you want to see '10000001' in Hyperterminal, then you need 8 bytes (one for each ASCII character).
    I hope I have made myself clear.

  • How to handle the java.policy file ?

    Can somebody tell me how to handle the java.policy file?
    I always get java.net.SocketExceptions and java.security.AccessControlExceptions while connecting to an appserver from an applet.
    What do I have to write in the java.policy file, where do I have to place it and do I have to call it in some way form my applet?
    Thanks in advance.
    don call

    The java.policy file goes in your jre installation directory in .../jre/lib/security (there should be one there already).
    I used it to allow otherwise restricted permissions for an applet using javax.comm. Add something like the following to the file:
    grant codeBase "URL:http://yourDomainName/rootDirectoryOfYourApp/*" {
         permission java.security.AllPermission;
    This will give the applet downloaded from your site all permissions. You might want to give only certain permissions, I don't know.

  • Date and file

    hi to all
    in my program, i am having date and file in select-screen apart form these two i am also having other filelds in selection screen.
    after the program exexcution i am updating the one z table with the date on which program was executed.
    when ever i am executing the same program after that,
    if i want to get the last run executin date from it how to do it?
    and i am not storing file name in any table i am creting that file in appplication server.
    when ever i am executing the same program after that,
    if i want to get the last executinfile name  from it how to do it?
    regards
    raadha

    1. To get the last run execution date.
    After execting the program , u r updating a z table with program execution date.
    So u can get teh last run execuiton date from a select query by using the data stored in that table.
    for example, Say if the table is Zlastrun( where u update last run execution date)
    Also what are the other fields u uptade in the table.
    i assume u are also updating the program name and if so, u can use the below statment.
    From that u can get by using the select statmement
    select * from Zlastrun  into tale it_zlastrun where pgm =  C_pgm_name order by ERDAT descending .
    Where zlastrun - name of the table
              it_zlastrun - name of the internal tale
    pgm - field in zlastrun.
    c_pgm_name  - constant the value should be name of the program.
    Erdat - execution date
    Plz let me know if this is useful
    Thanks

    import org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser;

    System.out.println("Usage: java MySaxParser [URI]");
    System.exit(0);
    String uri = argv[0];
    try
    XMLReader parser = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser");
    MySaxParser MySaxParserInstance = new MySaxParser();
    parser.setContentHandler(MySaxParserInstance);
    parser.parse(uri);

    Now , am not a very good Java DEv. and i need to find a soln. to this prob within 1 week.
    The next step is to write the data to the DB.
    Am sending an example of my file:

    </Machine>
    </Start>
    Note that i can have more than 1 machines (meaning that i have to loop thru the file to be able to write to the DB)
    Cal u tellme what to do!
    Even better- do u have a piece of code that will help me understand and implement the database writing portion?
    I badly need help here.
