How to hide username?
Hi, I'd like to hide my username, that is, the name I use to log in to Skype from some or all of my contacts, I stupidly made my username contain my real name which is very unique and I don't want some people I contact to know this information. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Tony1030, and welcome to the Community,
A Skype user name is public information ... and Skype does not permit a user name to be changed/edited once it is created.
You could create a new account and abandon the one you no longer wish to use. This would mean, of course, having to add all of your contacts into your new account. More information here: 'Can I delete my Skype account?'
Best regards,
Elaine

How to hide username/password in JDBC program.
hi All,
The support tat I get here is simply gr8.
Can someone suggest or send me a link as to how I hide the username /password ....i.e database connection in the jdbc program so as to avoid changing the program everywhere in case username and passwd changes ?????
I simply want to change the following code
String driverName = "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver";
Class.forName(driverName).newInstance();
// Create a connection to the database
Sring serverName = "127.0.0.1";
String portNumber = "1521";
String sid = "oratest";
String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@" + serverName + ":" + portNumber + ":" + sid;
String username = "scott";
String password = "tiger";
connection = DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password);
Ta,
sunnywell i kind of support what my fellow poster neeelima.srtidhar said..
Use of Connection Pooling via JNDI which is either provided by appln server or using custom built frameworks is the best method which i can think of instead of reinventing the wheel by creating a Properties file and then writing a Utility Class which ultimately endup in creating connection Object without any sort of optimal usage.
checkout the below articles for reference of how to do it.
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html
http://www.informit.com/articles/article.asp?p=352320&rl=1

http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jdbc/programming.html
http://www.castor.org/jdo-pooling.html
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~slink/java/DBPool/
and if you are thinking of reinventing those that could be possible using the below article

Hope that might help:)

Deepthi.Beyond that thread, I gave a presentation at Kaleidoscope last year around MaxL that goes into quite a bit of depth re encryption and a whole bunch of other MaxL goodies.
To download it, go to www.odtug.com, click on Tech Resources, Essbase/Hyperion, and use the search box for MaxL.
There are two presentations, one by Tracy McMullen and the other by me. Tracy's is a good introduction to the various command groups; my presentation focused on a few areas in depth, one of which was encryption. The title is "Master Essbase with MaxL Automation".
You will need to join ODTUG to download the presentation, but there is a junior membership that is free.
Regards,
Cameron Lackpour
P.S. ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2010 is coming up in two weeks, starting on 27 June 2010 -- for those of you still on the fence, it is an awesome conference and I urge you all to come. The content this year will be fantastic. -

How to hide RMAN command line args from "ps -ef" command?
Hi there
This is not RMAN question per say but it is related to my RMAN script. Part of this RMAN script is below:
rman target / catalog ${RMANID}/${RMANPW}@${RMANSID} log=${TMPFILE} << EOF
While the script is running, if I issue "ps -ef | grep rman" command (from my own user id or as 'oracle' user), I see following:
oracle 32522 32492 36 15:32 pts/1
00:00:01 rman target / catalog rman/rman2013@rmancat log=/tmp/oratmp32492
Is there a way to hide the values of the variables (Id, Pwd, SID) from the "ps -ef" command?
If not, any other an alternates?

Question on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields in the MDT Wizard
MDT 2012 U1
Deploying Windows 7 via Offline Media (ISO) to MS Virtual PC's
I am looking on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields which are prepopulated in the MDT wizard via the CS.ini (Not so concerned about the Domain field as I am User Name and Password)
We do need the Computer Name and OU fields to be seen, so skipping the wizard is not a option
The client just does not want these fields to be seen by the end users, they dont want them to even know the account name used for adding the machine to the domain, of course the password is not displayed but it must not be displayed either.
But since we use the fields they must still be fuctional just not seen.
Thanks.....
If this post is helpful please click "Mark for answer", thanks! Kind regardsYou shouldn't have to edit DeployWiz_Definition_ENU.xml. You should only need to add "SkipAdminPassword=YES" to the CS.ini file and your authentication information.
Example:
[Settings]
Priority=Default
Properties=MyCustomProperty
[Default]
OSInstall=Y
SkipCapture=NO
SkipAdminPassword=YES
UserID=<MyUserID>
UserPassword=<MyPassword>
UserDomain=<MyDomain.com>
SkipProductKey=NO
SkipComputerBackup=YES
SkipBitLocker=NO
-Nick O.
Nick,
SkipAdminPassword=YES is for:
You can skip the Administrator Password wizard page by using this property in the
customsettings.ini.
I am hidding the Username/Password/and domain field in the computer name Wizard pane which is read from the cs.iniDomainAdmin=xxxxx
DomainAdminPassword=xxxxx
DomainAdminDomain=xxxxxx
JoinDomain=xxxxxx

No! As you realized, that's not practical.
If every student is a separate Oracle user, the USER fucntion will return the name of the current user. A view definition can reference that function, like this:
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW view_x
AS
SELECT *
FROM table_x
WHERE student_account = USER;If you logged in to Oracle as POLAT, then the view will contain only rows where student_account='POLAT'.
If you logged in to Oracle as SYSTEM, then the view will contain only rows where student_account='SYSTEM'.
If students do not have thier own Oracle accounts, then they are probably authenitcated by some procedure in your package. That procedure can set a SYS_CONTEXT variable, or write data to a global temporary table, which you can then use instead of the USER function in view definitions.
Note: I know dbms_rls package, except this solution I am tryin to find onather solution.Why can't you use dbms_rls, or why don't you want to use it? It's a very powerful tool, and not vey hard to use.
I'm not saying there's never a good reason not to use dbms_rls; I'm just asking if you have one.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, give a specific example of what you want. Post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for some sample data for all tables involved. Identify 2 or 3 different students, and show what the contents of the view should be for each student, given the same sample data. If students do not log in to Oracle with their own usernames, then explain how you know which student is currently logged in. -

How to display username in RTF BI publisher report?
Please advice how to display username in RTF BI publisher report?
May be this can be done via hidden parameter of BIP report which default value will be set up with macro like {$username$} (or smth like)?
Thanks in advance!Thanks. That worked. I was trying to get it as part of a multi-table query, aliasing dual. But that doesn't work in SQL Plus either so I guess I can't do that.
I was trying
select o.*, d.:xdo_user_name
from oblix_audit_events o, dual d
Before that I was trying
select
:xdo_user_name as USER_ID,
:xdo_user_roles as USER_ROLES,
:xdo_user_report_oracle_lang as REPORT_LANGUAGE,
:xdo_user_report_locale as REPORT_LOCALE,
:xdo_user_ui_oracle_lang as UI_LANGUAGE,
:xdo_user_ui_locale as UI_LOCALE
from dual
but I must have fat fingered something because that works now too. Thanks.
So if I need to do this in it's own query and I'm using an RTF template, how do I make that work?

How to hide dynamic parameters values in the URL with Reports 6i
Hi,
I want to know a way of hiding the parameters values when asking for a report through the web.
Now I'm using the Reports 3.0.5.8 with a Cartridge defined in the Oracle Web Application Server 3.0.1.0.1. When you ask for a report with the parameters DESTYPE = cache and DESFORMAT = pdf, it is fully generated and in the Address or Location box of the browser, you can see http://webserver/cache/report.pdf (where cache is the virtual directory defined in the OWAS in which the .pdfs are cached). So, users cant see the Url used to generate the report.
Im trying to upgrade this configuration to Reports 6i with Cgi in a web server. I generate reports with no problems. The problem I have is I cant find how to hide the parameters values as before. I mean, when I ask for a report, once its generated I can see http://webserver/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?server=ServerName&report=report.rdf&userid=user/pass@connection&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&P1=value1&P2=value2 in the Location box. It allows user to ask for another report changing the values of the parameters. I use these parameters to execute some query written in the Data Model. For example, imagine that the P1 represents the company id, the user (that is supposed to see only data of its company) can change this id, ask for a new report and see data of another company.
Ive already tried to use the key mapping option, but its not useful to me because the parameters values are dynamic and its impossible to define different entries in the cgicmd.dat for each possible value. The option of loading the parameter form before running a report is not useful to me either, because there exists specific screens for this purpose.
Is there any solution?
Thank you.
Marma Bonfiglio.Hi Rakesh,
I am using BI 7.0
The last option I have is 'Hide' for 'Calculate single values as' .
I have the below options for 'Calculate single values as'
1. Normalise according to Next group level Resul.
2. Normalize according to Overall Result
3. Rank number
4.Olympic Rank Number
5.Maximum
6. Minimum
7.Counter for all detailed values
8.Counter for all detailed values that are non zero
9.Moving average
10.Moving average That is Not zero ,null or Error
11. Hide.
So could you please tell me where i can find 'suppress result' option for the keyfigure .
Many thanks
