How to highlight the selected value in a table

Hi All,
I have list of roles in a table like admin,dba...etc.
i will select the current selected role using
Stgin role =wdCotext.currentElement().getRole();
After getting the role i bind this value in context.
now my requiremnet is i will navigate to other table view containing all roles like admin,dba,networkadmin .
I have to highlight the selected role in previous table to new table containing the all the roles.
means selected role should be highlight in a next table view list of roles.
please help.

Hi mohammad,
To achieve this functionality, use another integer variable to store the index of the currently selected element in the first view. Pass this variable's value to the next view (either as plug parameter or throgh mapping) and set the Lead selection for the table as this index in the second view.
In the first View ....
int n = wdContext.current<your_node>Element().index()
pass this value from first view to second view.
In the second view
wdContext.node<your_node>().setLeadSelection(n)

Hi Lingo,
There r two ways of getting the values into the list. First one is hardcoding the values and the second one is use the list and get the values into the list by firing a query in the database.
Inorder to display the values in the second menu based on the first onces selection we need to add an attribute to the first selectonemenu known as valueChangeListener and we need to sumit the page.
Here is the sample code

I have four dropdowns in my application, When I click "CLEAR" button, what ever the values selected in the four drop downs should go off and view as "SELECT" in all the dropdowns.

I have a multiselect list displaying all the years from 2003 to 2008 (used dynamic LOV). The user can choose one or more years as per his needs, and then when user clicks on the link the selected values of the list are to be captured and a pop up page of a Discoveror report needs to be opened where these years get passed as a parameter. I tried several methods to capture the value, but either one or all are getting passed but not exactly what the user has chosen.
This is how it looks:
P2_FISCAL_YEAR is a multiselect list containing values from 2003,2004... 2008
If user chooses 2004 and 2007
then I want the url to capture these values and pass as parameters for my discoveror reports. as '&qp_fiscal_year=2004,2007'
Any help is appreciated!

How to read the selected value of a dropdown list box

Hello,
I have 2 custom fields which are of type dropdown list on Accounts(CRMM_ACCOUNT) PCUI application details tab.I need to read the selected value of first dropdown list item,based on that second dropdown list will be populated.
I know where to populate the dropdown list box,it is in FILL_DROPDOWN_LISTBOX.
I dont know how to trap the selection made on dropdown list.
PLease guide me on how to trap the dropdown list field selection value.

Hello,
Check what is done in standard for the fielf REGION which is inked to the country.
Otherwise, you can do the following :
- in field group customizing, for field 1, flag the 'send request' flag. So, when you change the value in this field via the dropdown, the MAC methods are immediately called.
- Put the new value in a global variable (GV).
- in the fill_dropdown_listbox method, get the value from this GV and based on it, filter the values for the dropdown of field 2.

Clicking on TOC Item Jumps to Previous Identical Entry. How to highlight the selected one?

I have many TOC pages that are identical.
For example, in our software some toolbar icons are repeated on different screens. In the built CHM help, if I click on a later identical page reference in our TOC, the TOC automatically jumps focus to the first entry. It doesn't stay on the selected entry.
This causes confusion as all of a sudden the user is in an entirely different context. How can I get it to highlight the selected item and not jump to the first reference?

Note that this issue is generically related to any help system and isn't a "RoboHelp specific thing". When multiple points in a Table of Contents reference the same page, how is the system supposed to determine exactly which TOC node is the correct one?
The way past this is to create multiple distinct nodes from the TOC to the topic.
One way involves never creating an actual link from the TOC to the topic. Instead, create as many distinct topics as you need in the TOC and have them redirect to the desired topic. The bottom line is that the correct page is presented and the correct TOC node is highlighted.
Another way involves a similar approach. Create distinct topics that simply present an inline frame (IFRAME) that has the single "real" topic.
Yet another way involves another variation. Create a Snippet that is essentially the single entire topic. Then create distinct topics that only contain the snippet.

How to capture the selected values from module pool dialog list box !

Hi experts,
Can anyone help me out in capturing the values from the list box.
i am able to set the values in the list box.But i am not able to capture the selected value from the list box. Always the list box name is getting as "space"
I also tried in using the FM "VRM_GET_VALUES" but it is retireving all the values. Is there is any flag for filttering out the selected value.

How to Retrieve the Selected Values from selectOrderShuttle using ADF 11g

Does anyone has idea how to retrieve the selected Items using shuttle and Order of the items using 'SelectOrderShuttle' component ?

shuttle's valuechangeevent would fire when you shuttle items back and forth.

How to capture the selected values of the filter?

Hi Everybody
I have created a dashboard using a 4 column filter. It all works well - no problem.
I now need to enhance the functionality of the dashboard which needs the selected values of each of the parameters of the filter. As far as I know, the selections of the fiilter columns are not "Inserted In" any cell, only the data values of the corresponding row not including the filter columns are inserted in the "Inserted In" row, is there a way to capture the values of the filter column selections in some cells on the spreadsheet?
An early response from you all shall be highly valued.
Also, does anyone know which is the current equivalent version of Xcelsius to the old Xcelsius Workgroup version. This Xcelsius Workgroup version supported the "XML Integration Dynamic Refresh" wherein you didn't have to reinserted the updated Excel spreadsheet into Xcelsius have an updated dashboard - as long as the corresponding XML files were updated with the latest data, the exported dashboard would refresh.

So in Such scenario how to save this 10 rows against Recruiter

I have a page item which is a select list. I have a button in my region which when clicked will call a process. This process takes the current value of my page item as a parameter. However, when I select a value from the Select list and click on the button, the page item is still submitting the earlier value, it is not getting updated with the value I selected in the select list. Can someone tell me how I can get the page item value to be updated with the value I selected from the choice list? I tried calling a javascript function from the element attribute of this select list onchange="javascript:setValue(this);") and was trying to set the value of another hidden page item with the value of this select list but then the function is not getting called as well. My function code is something like

How do you know this? Have you used Debug mode to track what is happening when the button is pressed? This will show any changes to item values in session state during page submit and page show processing.

This should happen automatically with a select list item, if the button is correctly defined to perform a page submit. It will not happen if the button performs a redirect. What action is defined to occur when the button is pressed?

As detailed above, this should be completely unnecessary, however as an aside, html_GetElement is a very out of date method of accessing an item. What version of APEX are you using? (Always specify which version you're using when you ask a question, to allow us to determine the most appropriate solution to the problem.)

i have created two views.In the table of the first view i'm selecting a row and pressing the button it will move to next view.
i am adding some fields manually in the table of the second view and pressing the save button.Here all the values should get updated corresponding to the field which i have selected in the first view.
I want to know how to get the particular field in the selected row from one view to another view.

Hi,
Any data sharing accross views can be achiveved by defining CONTEXT data in COMPONENT CONTROLLER and mapping it to the CONTEXT of all the views. Follow the below steps.
1. Define a CONTEXT NODE in component controller
2. Define same CONTEXT NODE in all the views where this has to be accessed & changed.
3. Go to CONTEXT NODE of each view, right click on the node and choose DEFINE MAPPING.
This is how you map CONTEXT NODE and same can be accessed/changed from any VIEW or even from COMPONENT CONTROLLER. Any change happens at one VIEW will be automatically available in others.
