How to implement a opaque label, not use swing

since i need to implement a opaque label in applet, so i can just use awt, not swing, how should i do?
thx

Hi,
Create your own class that extends java.awt.Label and
override the "public void paint(Graphics g)" method.
the body of this method could be something like:
g.setColor(<your background color of choice>);
g.fillRect(0,0, getWidth(), getHeight());
super.paint(g);
I didn't test this code, it's from the top of my head,
I leave the testing to you.
And if you want a reusable component you could add an
opaque property and only fill the background when the
component is opaque.
Best of luck,
Christhx for your answer, but the problem is that----
i need the label to be opaque, so maybe behind the label is an image or picture, i can't just simply set the background color. Since all things are created dynamic, i don't know what is its background, so can't paint its background properly.

    Okay, that's better. It would have been nice if the code was formatted, and if there was about 20% of that code. (Your example could have been just one JLabel and nothing else, for example.)
    Anyway, now that you've posted that code, what is your question about it? I see you are calling a "getAvailableFontFamilyNames" method; do you have a question about that? If so, what is the question?

  • How can I reach my iCloud notes using a PC with WinXP.?

    Last week I was on the road and needed to reach some info I wrote on a Note using my iPhone to my iCloud... I left my iPhone at Home and Only had access to an old internet access PC with Windows XP but was not sure how to reach my iCloud notes...  I tried the iCloud site but asking me to setup iCloud on that PC.. The PC had a limited user account so basically I was not able to install anything on it...
    Please let me know... :-)

    Can you clarify how you intend to setup the AirPort Express?
    Obviously, if  you plan to connect the AirPort Express to a modem, the Ethernet port on the Express will be utilized for the Internet connection, so no other Ethernet ports will be available.
    If this is the case,  you will need to look into obtaining a router with 3-4 Ethernet ports to allow both your AirPort Express and computer to connect.

  • How do I wirelessly synch my Notes using iCloud among iPad, iPhone 5S and Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1

    How do I set up my devices to wirelessly synch my Notes using iCloud among iPad, iPhone 5S and Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1?

    Hey bwind,
    You will want to first create an iCloud account, if you haven’t already:
    Creating an iCloud account: Frequently Asked Questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4436
    Next, sign in to that iCloud account on your iPhone and iPad, and turn on the syncing for notes:

    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3c79652c
    iCloud - iPad User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPad995bbafe
    Then you will want to download the iCloud Control Panel for Windows:
    iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455
    You will find your notes in their own section on Outlook:
    iCloud: Notes overview
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12081
    On your Windows computer, your changes are pushed to Microsoft Outlook in the Notes folder of your iCloud email account. You can see your iCloud notes by expanding your iCloud email account in the Outlook folder pane (also called the navigation pane), then selecting the Notes folder in the email account.
    Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

    Hi ,
    There are lot of aggregates in my system , so i should deactivate the aggregates which  are not used from long back. so how to find out all those , can u plz guide me ,

    You can also check the usage column of the aggregates. If usage value is high then the aggregate is used very frequently.

    Sound like you should visit the logging API or you could do SOP all over your code which would make it very unreadableI don't see why logging code will make his code any less messy than SOP everywhere. Unless you're talking about applying logging by AOP, which is equally messy in a different way.I never implied that the one was tidier than the other. O merely recommended my knowledge on how to help the OP and gave 2 choices. Oh right. It looked like you were suggesting SOP was messier somehow. Never mind, then.
    Besides is AOP really that bad when using Interceptors? I know that this is new to Java but interceptors are really not that untidy.I didn't say they were untidy. I didn't say there was anything wrong with AOP. But logging by AOP results in pretty useless, messy logs. "This method was called with these parameters" all over the place, rather than something nice and friendly. Remember, logging is more often read by support staff than developers, so while it might be obvious to you what "getLlama(200, 3)" means, it's probably garbage to the support bods.

    Jdom has the method to detach an element.

    AFAIK, pretty well all XML object models have a remove operation, usually the method is phrased so as to remove the child from the parent, but they are equivalent to detaching the parent from the child.

  • Is it possible to use events for objects that do not use swing or awt

    Dear Experts
    I want to know if events are possible with plain java objects. A simple class that is capable of firing an event and another simple class that can receive that event. My question is
    1. If it is possible - then what is the approach that needs to be taken and would appreciate an example.
    2. Is Observer Pattern in java going to help?
    To explain further i am doing [Add,Modify,Delete,Traverse] Data tutorial using swing in Net beans. I have a ButtonState Manager class that enables and disables buttons according to a given situation. For example if add is clicked the modify button becomes Save and another becomes Cancel. The other buttons are disabled. What i want is the ButtonStateManager class to do a little further - i.e. if Save is clicked it should report to DBClass that it has to save the current record which was just added. I am foxed how this can be done or what is the right way. Thanks for reading a long message. Appreciate your help.

            btnAdd.setText("Save");
            btnModify.setEnabled(false);
            btnDelete.setText("Cancel");
            btnQuit.setEnabled(false);
            ...Finally the Crazy way i was trying to do ... using EXCEPTIONS!
      void modifyClicked() throws DBAction
            if(btnModify.getText().equalsIgnoreCase("MODIFY"))
                modifyButtonState();
            else
                throw new DBAction("SaveAddedRecord");
        }And Finally how i was Tackling exceptions....
      private void btnAddActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
          try {
                bsm.addClicked();
            } catch (Exception e1) {

        private void processDBAction(String msg)
            if(msg.equalsIgnoreCase("SAVEMODIFIEDRECORD"))
                System.err.println(msg);
                bsm.normalButtonState();

  • How to find modules implemented and licensed but not used.

    Hi,
    Hi, one of our customer is in such a situation that they have no idea of which are the modules implemented. They have a big list of modules licensed but these are not necessarily be implemented. Is there a query to find out the same or any other option.Please see (Note: 420648.1 - How to Establish if a Product is Installed in e-Business Suite) and (Note: 443699.1 - How to check if certain Oracle Applications product/module is implemented?).

  • Keeping an unlocked 3GS and new iPhone 5 on same iTunes, what/how can apps be shared if not using iCloud?

    I have researched having two phones on the same account and keeping apps/music/contacts/etc.separate, but have not yet found a thread specific to NOT keeping everything separate but the same across phones; should be pretty simple, but simple sometimes isn't. Thanks in advance for your input!
    My husband and I are electing to keep our 3GS' (unlocked) so when we travel internationally we can pop a sim in from the country we are in, mainly for data. (In one country we can get 500MB for 10 Euros versus the $25/100MB my carrier will charge with the iPhone 5.) At least that is what we hope...
    Couple questions:
    1. Once the cell number/service on the 3GS is transfered to the 5, the 3S will become basically an iPod touch until a new sim is in place, correct? We can still use wi-fi and the apps on the phone, and still be able to sync to iTunes, correct? iOS has been upgraded to 6.
    1a. With a new Sim, any issue with losing any data/apps on the phone? I dont' think so.
    2. Once the 5 is activated on the new carrier, how do I share the apps within iTunes? Is it as easy as using iCloud (which we haven't "activated" yet) and/or plugging both phones into iTunes and transferring between devices (authorizing both)? Photos? There are photos on the 3S that we will need on the 5.
    3. Reverse order for new apps purchased (understand that not all the iphone 5 apps will work on the 3GS)?
    4. My husband also has a new iPad, any complications there with three devices? To date, he has not "shared" apps between his 3S and the iPad. He does not have iCloud set up, but plugs into his computer to backup and transfer photos.
    Agian, thanks for your thoughts and any tips you can give me. Over the last three years with the 3GS, I have had to rebuild my phone twice and while most of the items were recovered, I am leery of throwing the 5 into the mix!

    1. Yes. without a sim it has no service, but all other features should be useable normally.
    1.a Nope, Data and Apps are independent of the Sim.

    2. As long as both Phones use the same Apple ID, the applications can be synced to each through iTunes. Also any downloads on one phone should appear in the other. Again as long as both phones are using the same Apple ID.
    3. Reverse order for new apps purchased (understand that not all the iphone 5 apps will work on the 3GS)?
    3. If they can be run on the iPhone3GS they should be synced automatically.
    4. My husband also has a new iPad, any complications there with three devices? To date, he has not "shared" apps between his 3S and the iPad. He does not have iCloud set up, but plugs into his computer to backup and transfer photos.
    4. If all 3 Devices share the same Apple ID all should be synced.
    As a word of warning, if all 3 devices use the same Apple ID, messages recieved using iMessage will appear on all 3 devices.
    And Conctacts may get overwritten if synced to iCloud (thogh you say he doesn't have one), or merged together.

  • How to implement "delete" on a table using OWB?

    Hi All,
    How do I implement a simple delete using OWB?
    Assumption:
    (1) Table abcd (id number, age number, amt number)
    (2) the_number is a variable
    (3) the_id is a variable
    Want to implement following transformation in OWB?
    DELETE FROM ABCD WHERE AMT=0 AND number = the_number AND id = the_id ;
    Rgds,
    Deepak

    We implemented delete mappings, and delete flows to be able to reverse a failed load. This is in my opinion a very sound and valid reason for deleting from a datawarehouse. Also if the need is there it could be used for deleting old superfluous data from the datawarehouse.
    There are a few things to consider: closed records in type II should be opened up (post mapping).
    Test, test, test.
    It is indeed a bit tricky to realize,but certainly working and possible.
    steps to take are following:
    1) create new mapping
    2) drop mapping table where to delete from onto mapping (2 times, 1 source, 1 target)
    3) map all fields from source to their corresponding fields in target, except the ones that determine the "where" clause (Refered to as filter fields)
    4) Either create a select, or a mapping input parameter which should result in generating the filter-values for your delete.
    5) map above step to the filter fields.
    6)define a delete mapping by altering target table properties as follows:
    6a) Loading Type => Delete
    6b) Match by constraint => No constraints
    7) set properties each field as folows:
    7a) filter fields match column when deleting => Yes
    7b) other fields match column when deleting => No
    Hope this helps,
    Wilco

  • How to Create Legend and Label Graph using VBS

    Hi,
    I've scoured the internet before I had to resort to asking my question here. I hope someone can answer my question.
    Using VBS, how can I create a legend of the channels used in the graph and label the axis in the graph? Thanks in advance!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I've managed to figure out how to create the labels...
    Call GraphObjOpen(D2AxisXObj(1))
    D2AxisXTxt = "@@ChnName(CurrChnNo)@@ [@@ChnDim(CurrChnNo)@@]" ' Defines the x-label
    Call GraphObjClose(D2AxisXObj(1))
     Now to figure out how to create the legend. If anyone can help me, that'd be great.
    ...And now I feel like a downright idiot.
    After more scouring I managed to find what I need
    Call GraphObjOpen("2D-Axis1")
    '------------------- Swith legend on -------------------------------
    D2LEGDRAW =1
    D2LEGTXTTYPE ="Free text" ' "ChannelName" or other keywords
    D2LEGTXTFREE ="My free legend"
    Call GraphObjClose("2D-Axis1")
    'redraw
    Call Picupdate()

  • How to implement a subquery in CR2011 using native formulae?

    Hi All, If you look at the following SQL query, we want to have EquipRate based on Current Date for a EquipCode. How can I achieve the same result in Crystal reports designer using native formulas and functions. Thanks for your help. It will help us in not creating a view at the database side.
    Select a.EquipRate
    From a
    Where a.EffectiveDate =
    (select Maximum (a.EffectiveDate,b.EquipCode)
      from a, b
       where a.id=b.id)
    Thanks

    While this is possible, it will be MUCH more efficient to create the view OR to create a Command (SQL Select Statement) in the report to do this.
    To do this just in Crystal you could do something like this:
    1.  Add Table A.
    2.  Add a command that is something like this:
    (select  b.EquipCode,
      Maximum (a.EffectiveDate)  as MaxDate
      from a
        inner join b on a.id = b.id
      group by b.EquipCode)
    3.  Link the table to the command on EquipCode and EffectiveDate/MaxDate
    However, if you have a lot of data, this will be VERY slow because Crystal will pull all of the data into memory and then join the table to the command instead of having the database do the join.
    The other "just Crystal" option is to write a single Command that pulls all of the data you need for your report.  If your report has any parameters, you'll want to create them in the Command Editor and use them in the Where clause of the query.  Parameters created in the report can't be "seen" in the Command Editor and using the Select Expert instead of the query itself again means that Crystal will pull all of the data into memory and filter it there instead pushing the filter down to the database.
