How to implement password policy for a software in oracle (sql) forms & reports 6i ?

Hi all , I have to implement password policy for an already existing software which was created 2 to 3 years before.
What exactly i want to do is I must alert the user every month to change his/her password. I have no idea about it.
Can anyone help me how to start with it? Or can you provide me the links where i can learn & implement in the software?

How to disable password policy for App ID's

Hello there,
We have Sun ONE Directory 5.2 Patch2 version running on Solaris 8 as Master on 2 servers. I have somany application id which is created under separate branch of the tree. I want to by-pass the password policy for all the id's under specific branch.

hi, i want to view some executed queries(2 months before) in oracle SQL Developer. if i press F8 it shows execution history for only last 30 days. is there any option(query) or something to view execution history for specific date ? i want to see some queries, which is executed before 2 months in my oracle SQL developer tool. Pls help me out.

How to 'overrule' password policy for one user ?

hi,
i am system administrator on our ECC 6.0.
we have 4 clients, test and production.
so i have 8 users, not everyone has the same password (for some reasons).
when i want to change the password i get the message that the passwortd cannot be on of the
last 5 passwords.
well, i want to set the password the same for ALL of my 8 users.
how can i 'overrule' the message, so that i can change the password ? any ideas ?

Implement password policy

we are implementing the complex password policy, which is reqired by Audit team. I am able to implement password policy with AppsPasswordValidationCUS.java
But main problem, if put the long message to provide the instructions for new password on login screen it error out pl/sql number overflow issue.
How can we change the message on the following screen:
1. Main login screen (Just Hint the password) --> it works after change in messages
2. When user password expire then we want to display the on change password forms ( that new password is ...), If I send the message in custom java it gives the error of pl/sql fnd_sec...string overflow.
3. How to add the message on "user define" form.
Looking for your help or white paper to successfully change the message.

Different Password Policy for Different User Groups in ACS 4.2

Hi All,
Can some one provide a solution for the below requirement?
We do have ACS 4.2 appliance managing firewalls of different clients. The users are common i.e, helpdesk administrators. One of the client came up with setting different password policy for managing their devices i.e, the client wants to have min 15 characters as password length. We do have currently 8 characters as min password length. Can we change the password policy to min 15 characters only for managing the firewalls of this client whereas for all other client firewalls we feel better to have 8 characters as min password length?
It seems that these password policies are global & affects all the users.
This is something like, having two sets of password (for each user) policy depending on the client which he is going to manage.
For my knowledge, i think that this is not possible. But, thought to cross-check with experts!

Yor're correct. Password policy on ACS will affect all internal user. We can't create different password policies for diferent clients/connections/set_of_users
Password validation options apply only to user passwords that are stored in the ACS internal database. They do not apply to passwords in user records in external user databases; nor do they apply to enable or admin passwords for Cisco IOS network devices.

To maintain Change Document for custom field:
1. Check if "Change document" checkbox is set in data element.
2. Find Change Document Object for transaction.
   You can use SQL trace - ST05.
   Look there for line with table CDHDR and statement insert values
   (for example for transaction KA02 Change Document Object is KSTAR)
3. Regenerate update program for this Change Document Object in transaction SCDO
Change documents for z-fields schould be generated.
I am not sure about change pointers but they are configured somehow in BD61 and BD50.

This is available starting in RUP4.
The script to expire all passwords in the fnd_user table is $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql/AFCPEXPIRE.sql.
It can be executed from SQL*Plus or as a Concurrent Program: sqlplus -s APPS/ @AFCPEXPIRE.sql
or Submit concurrent request: CP SQL*Plus Expire FND_USER Passwords
This script sets the fnd_user.password_date to null for all users which causes all user passwords to expire.The user will need to create a new password upon the next login.

You can remove all other logic, like last page only contents (start@last-page:body), etc and section breaks if any you have inserted manually.
Just have for-each@section logic.
It would be difficult for me to guess what you have done without looking at your RTF or describing here.

How can I uninstall a damaged installation of Fusion - PFRD 11.1.1.6.0 - Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

Hello,
I am upgrading EBS 11i to 12i, Discoverer 4 to 11. After completing ebs installation and upgrade successfully, I am now working on the Oracle Fusion piece of the upgrade.
I have installed
1. JDK
2. Repository Creation Utility - RCU (schema)
3. Weblogic - WLS 10.3.6
4. Oracle Fusion - Discoverer 11g Release 1 Patchset 1 11.1.1.2.0 PFRD
5. Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patchset 11.1.1.6.0 - Patchset 13517084
6. Executed config.sh and it failed with but continued.
During the Configuration of Oracle Fusion with config.sh there was failure at with "fails at creating data sources" and accidentally proceeded and all seem to go well until after shutting down the servers when Weblogic Managed Server is unable to start.
The start log indicated: "weblogic.store.PersistentStoreFatalException: [Store:280105]The persistent file store "_WLS_WLS_DISCO" cannot open file _WLS_WLS_DISCO000000.DAT." and I have been unable to find a solution for this error?

You can always change the JDBC datasources in the Weblogic admin console . but have you recorded what is the specific error you got during the datasources creation .
I prefer...create a new user , give him sysdba privillages . Start RCU and create the DEV_DISCOVERER , DEV_DISCOVERER_PS schemas (prefix is your choice)
The Admin server will start . so go to admin console .
click services -> Data Sources
Check the data sources you have . edit each datasource and update the connection pool information .
after this you can start the Managed server WLS_DISCO
