How to implement session listener in RM

Hi,
In my repository manager, a connection to another system is established when a user tries to access the repository. Is there any way to implement a session listener, thereby terminating the sessions to another system when the EP user logs off?
In our words, in Repository Manager, how can I know when an EP user clicks Log off?
Thanks,
Ray

Or, how can I know when a user logs off EP in my repository manager?

  • BC4J/UIX: How to implement session timeout and logout?

    Hi,
    I need to implement logout function in my UIX application. We use JAZN basic authentication. So several things need to be done when user clicks 'logout'
    1. Any pending transaction is rolled-back.
    2. App Module - what to do with it?
    3. Browser closes or redirects to other page. Any attempts to go BACK will show either 'session expired' or will redirect to login page.
    Also I need a mechanism where if user is idle for say, 10 minutes, that he/she will be automatically logout (maybe after some warning message). How to do this?
    Thanks
    Rade

    Well if you search long enough, you will find your own answers. After months of not having this solved, I found the solution, in a piece of sample code from oracle that is distro with the OC4J stuff.
    if (request.getRemoteUser() != null) {
         // notes that the application is responsible for cleanup
         //invalidate the HttpSession
         HttpSession session = request.getSession();
         session.invalidate();
         String url=null;
         oracle.security.jazn.oc4j.WebSSOUtil.globalLogout(response,url);
         } else      out.println("You are not logged in!");
         out.println("</BODY>");
         out.println("</HTML>");
    This is the piece I was looking for, a way to kill off the SSO session. Now when I click logoff, the user is actually logged off the application and their HTTP session is killed off as well.

  • How to implement a Session Object.

    Hi,
    If anybody show me any example of how to implement
    session object so that I can store any parameters such as user id and use it later on. And also if there is any good web site for reference about using session object.
    thanks

    You can use the the session.setAttribute and session.getAttribute methods.
    For example let's say you would want to store a username in the session after a user has logged on:
    String usrname = request.getParameter("username");
    session.setAttribute("myStoredUsername", usrname);
    you can then retrieve it using the get method. Remember that the entities stored inside a session object are generic objects and need to be cast to be used:
    String usrname2 = (String)session.getAttribute("username");
    Hope this helps

  • How to implement the Session ManageMent in OracleADF .

    Hi I am New to ADF, In my application i have requirement like, I Have a JSPX login page,which contain 4 taskflows as a regions(like AddEmp,DeleteEmp,Create New Dept,Delete Emp), based on the type of user login,i want give different responsibilities(ADF Security, for example a normal employe cant Edit the Other Employe information only HR can do the Edit ), for those who logged in i want to use Session.
    Every Time When the user Request the resource it has to check for the session validation.
    i know in JEE How to implement Sessions but i don't know in ADF .
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi,
    have a look here http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/AdfSecurity/AdfSecurity.html
    Its a video about ADF Security that explains how you can use custom Resource Permissions for any kind of user authorization, plus the on-board page and task flow permission. Note that the session has nothing to do with authorization. All a session can be is authenticated after which users are associated with enterprise roles, which then are mapped to permissions (through application roles in ADF Security). So session management is not what you are looking for in this case.
    In addition you want to read: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/76-insert-update-entity-protection-334421.pdf

  • How can a session scope bean access an application scope bean - help

    Hello,
    I have a JSP page that has references to an Application Scope and a Session Scope bean...
    <jsp:useBean id="myWebApp" scope="application" class="com.my.web.WebApplication" />
    <jsp:useBean id="myWebSession" scope="session" class="com.my.web.WebSession" />
    I would like the WebSession access methods in the WebApplication ... Can/ How does the WebSession object lookup the reference to WebApplication object?

    I don't think you should make the WebSession implement the session listener.
    The session listener will be created once, at the start of the servlet context and would be listening to all sessions. So you would have one instance of the WebSession belonging to the context (though not as an attribute), and others belonging to each session. This will be confusing in your code, I think.
    I would suggest having a different class act as the HttpSessionListener. Perhaps do something like this:
    public class WebSessionInjector implements HttpSessionListener {
      public void  sessionCreated(HttpSessionEvent e) {
        WebApplication webApp = (WebApplication)(e.getSession().getServletContext().getAttribute("webapp"));
        WebSession mySession = new WebSession();
        mySession.setWebApplication(webApp);
        e.getSession().setAttribute("mySession", mySession);
      public void sessionDestroyed(HttpSessionEvent e) { ... }
    }You may be able to use the WebApplication object itself as the listener ...
    Or, you could make the WebSession implement the HttpSessionBindingListener and use the valueBound event much like the sessionCreated event above, but from inside the WebSession object:
    public class WebSession implements HttpSessionBindingListener {
      public void  valueBound(HttpSessionBindingEvent e) {
        WebApplication webApp = (WebApplication)(e.getSession().getServletContext().getAttribute("webapp"));
        this.setWebApplication(webApp);
      public void valueUnbound(HttpSessionBindingEvent e) { ... }
    }

  • How to implement row level security using external tables

    Hi All Gurus/ Masters,
    I want to implement row level security using external tables, as I'm not sure how to implement that. and I'm aware of using it by RPD level authentication.
    I can use a filter condition in my user level so that he can access his data only.
    But when i have 4 tables in external tables
    users
    groups
    usergroups
    webgrups
    Then in which table I need to give the filter conditions..
    Pl let me know this ...

    You pull the Group into a repository variable using a session variable init block, then reference that variable in the data filters either in the LTS directly or in the security management as Filters. You reference it with the syntax VALUEOF("NQ_SESSION.Variable Name")
    Hope this helps

  • How to implement this need help

    I created a datacontrol for a named query which (using Ejb entity beans) which accepted a employee id and click on find show me the respected employee details in a table.
    case 1: In one single page
    when i added the form consisting of a single text box , button and the table to show the result of the find method in one single page it worked out perfectly,,,
    case 2 : using 2 different pages
    But then i tried adding only the form in one page named page1 and and the table to show the result in another page i.e page2 , Also in the command action of find button of page1 i asked it to redirect to page 2 and show result . But it never showed me any results..
    Question :
    1) How to implement case2 i.e to have a form on one page and the resultant table to be show on another page i.e When users sees first page he adds the employee id in text box and clicks find .The user then needs to be redirected to page2 and the result of search should be shown in table...
    Can anyone guide me over this... ???

    Hi,
    you use a method on the EJB that takes a argument (e.g. the employee ID). You then put the method result set on page 2 (the method argument shall be pointed to a request or session attribute using EL : #{sessionScope.EmployeeId}
    On the search page - when the user hits the search button - you set the attribute "EmployeeId" in the session before navigating to the next page

  • Counting how many active sessions in a webapp

    Hi folks,
    I was wondering if it is possible to count how many active sessions that there currently are in a webapp? I've looked at the ServletContext and ServletConfig classes, but I can't find anything. Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Raj.

    HttpSessionListener was introduced in servlet spec 2.3 which is supported in Tomcat 4.0 but not 3.3.
    If upgrading to 4.0 is not an option, there is no elegant way to get what you need. There is no API call that returns all the active sessions so you must do it yourself. One way is to create a class that implements HttpSessionBindingListener to track your sessions. Instantiate it on start-up and add its reference as a session attribute when the session is first created. You can then update your custom session info in the valueBound and valueUnbound methods.

  • How the implementation differs between BW and BI , Is BI takes more time fo

    Hi All,
    I would like to know difference between implemenation and time lines for MM as mentioned below.
    How the implementation differs between BW and BI , Is BI takes more time for implementing MM module  than on BW?
    Thanks in advanced. (Full points will be awarded)
    With Regards,

    Hi Timo,
    Thanks for response!
    But as i read from the following url: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/apirefs.1111/e10653/oracle/jbo/ViewObject.html, the setQueryTimeOut(int timeOutMills), the timeOut is mentioned in milliseconds. Please correct me if I am wrong.
    and i have overriden the executeQuery() method in the View Object Impl class as shown below:
    public void executeQuery() {
    Map sessionScope = ADFContext.getCurrent().getSessionScope();
    sessionScope.put("MyQuery", this);
    try {
    super.executeQuery();
    } finally {
    sessionScope.remove("MyQuery");
    throw new JboException("Query Taking too long to respond");
    and in the JAVA class i am calling the above method like this:
    monitor.setQueryTimeOut(6);
    monitor.executeQuery();
    But the issue is:
    1. The above exception message is getting carried forward to other pages as well. I mean somewhere in the session/ADFContext this message is being saved and error comes up/pops up when i click on other tabs of the page. How do i clear this?
    2. The above exception message is coming for the first time but when i click the 'Submit' button second time, i am getting the results and also the message that 'Query is taking too long to respond'. This should not be the case, everytime it should show the same message as the timeout limit is less and the query should end without fetching the results.
    Kindly let me know how to resolve the above issues, any pointers will be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to implement autocomplete?

    Hello,
    I have a String array with strings in non-alphabethical order.
    I would like to implement autocomplete (just like in IE address line) on a JTextField.
    I guess I'll need to put some listener on textfield, but which? And how to handle array - sort it before use? Any other possibilities?

    Well, first you'd need something to compare the String being typed in to, so that you know what the user might be trying to type. Then, I guess you'd need a KeyListener on text field, so each time a key is pressed, you run a search and return all the possible Strings that could match it.
    I'd be a little lost as to how to implement the drop-down list like IE (or Windows in general) has to handle auto-complete. The other way to handle it would be to have the word fill itself into the textbox as you type, leaving the guessed part highlighted so you can continue to type, and continue to get suggestions. This approach seems a bit easier, and could be handled fairly easily.

  • How to implement a

    I have an application which uses the Comm API to communicate to a device
    through the serial port. It is now necessary that I get acknowledgements
    back from the device between messages. That is, I send a packet, and
    cannot send another packet until that one is acknowledged. So, I need to
    create a queue of packets to send, and after each is sent, I need to listen for
    incoming packets to determine if I got an acknowledgement, after which I
    can send the next one.
    Other unrelated packets might come in, so I cannot "busy wait".
    It seems like the best choice is to have a queue that is on its own thread, so
    that whenever a packet comes in both the main thread and the queue
    thread can decide how to react to it. I have some ideas about how to
    implement this, but they are probably not "clean".
    Is there a class that does something like this? I was going to create a class
    which implements Runnable, and listens to the class which deals with the
    serial port, and have the run method send a packet, and wait until a flag
    was set that verifies that the acknowledgement packet was recieved, and
    then it would send the next one. But I am a bit confused about what
    happens when the queue gets empty and the run method stops.
    So then I thought the queue would belong to a different class which would
    create a new thread if the queue is empty, and keep adding to it as long as
    it is empty. That is, if the queue is empty, create a new thread and start it.
    If the queue is not empty, just add the new object to the currently running thread.
    Does any of this make sense? Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Chuck.

    I'm not at all sure what the "future result" pattern is, and a google search
    didn't help much.
    Wouldnt you check for a message before trying to send
    something?
    Vector queue;
    if(queue.size() > 0 ) {
    // transmit
    I think you are missing something here--If the queue is empty, what happens? What is listening for new requests to send? What is waiting
    for acknowledgments?
    However, I think I can solve the problem without threads simply by having the queue listen for incoming packets, and if an acknowledgement is received, then the next packet is sent. Otherwise, it resends the original. The only downside I see to this is that if packets are never received, they are never sent. But if that is the case, there are bigger problems to deal with, so I think it may be acceptable.
