How to include psp in jsp

can you tell me the information through which we can include psp in our jsp pages with the <jsp:include/> tag ,since it is mentioned by oracle documentation we can include psp pages in our jsp.
So can somebody give me the solution since in my project I have to use psp and jsp both .So please help me out for this.

No it is not possible.
Include directive is like copying and pasting some text into a JSP file, and then translating/compiling it.
So the only thing you can include with the <%@ include %> directive is a jsp fragment
It is a static translation/compile time include and thus will always be the same
By contrast <jsp:include> is a runtime include, and includes the result of running the imported url.
That URL has to be a complete/standalone jsp/servlet/whatever. However as it is runtime, it can take parameters where the include directive can not.
Does that answer your homework question?

    Hi,
    W026DTI1.LIHEA_RECIPIENTS.LAST_NAME IN @Prompt('Enter Name','A','Classname/Objectname',MULTI,FREE)
    This 'Classname/Objectname' gives you the LOV of Objectname from which you can select the values.
    While for having * in place of any values you need to add an OR condition while defining the prompt defition as
    '*' IN @Prompt('Enter Name','A','Classname/Objectname',MULTI,FREE)
    So, The complete definiton will be as:
    W026DTI1.LIHEA_RECIPIENTS.LAST_NAME IN @Prompt('Enter Name','A','Classname/Objectname',MULTI,FREE) OR '*' IN @Prompt('Enter Name','A','Classname/Objectname',MULTI,FREE)

  • How to include a jsp page in another jsp jsp page

    hi,
    i m trying to include a jsp page name "header.jsp" into one jsp page name"selectattribute.jsp" i m using these commands in "selectattribute.jsp"
    <%@include file "header.jsp"%> bcz both these jsp page are C:\program files\tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\jsp\Poject\
    but the problem is that , i m invoking this jsp page "selectattribute.jsp" from a servlet reportcontroller.java using REQUEST DISPATCHER.
    the servlet is in
    C:\Program files\tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes\Project\
    i want to know how to include some other jsp page in a jsp page and how to invoke applet from jsp page when that particular jsp page is being invoked by servlet.
    plz help
    manish

    use this for including in your selectattribute.jsp
    <jsp:include page="header.jsp" flush="true"/>
    I never tried calling an applet. I think you can write the code for calling the applet in a javabean method and call the method in the jsp

  • How to include HTML file in JSP using HTML elements or Javascript?

    Hi,
    I have around 15000 static html files one for each item which we display each upon invoking an item.The HTML file should be part of a JSP file.
    Please note that the name of the HTML file is determined dynamically
    Placing all the HTML files within the web application does not give us good performance so i would like to put all of them in the webserver.
    I am not able to include the file in the JSP using the jsp:include attribute if i place the HTML files in the webserver ,
    in order to do that i think should use either HTML element or javascript to include the HTML in the JSP.is there any alternative to <Jsp:include>
    Does anyone have an idea how to include the HTML file and take advan tage of webserver?
    Any ideas are appreciated

    What you need to do is simply read the HTML file from the disk and dump it out to the outputstream. It really is that simple.
    There's no reason you need to include all 15000 files in the actual WAR, you can place those files any place handy that is easy for the application to see (in another directory, or accessible from a file server if you have multiple front ends).
    Then, just write a utiility function that takes the output stream (i.e. the 'out' JSP variable), and the file name, read the file, and write it to the stream.
    If you start noticing performance issues, then you can try doing some caching, but truth is your OS should be doing that for you.
    But, truth be told that's the only practical way to do it.
    Another solution would be to use JavaScriipt and XMLHttpRequest (i.e "AJAX") to load the file at the client side, and simply replace a tag with the results.
    That's also pretty trivial to write, any web site talking about AJAX should give you hint there.
    Of course, that won't work for folks who have JavaScript turned off, or some other incompatible browser, whereas the server side solution obviously works everywhere.

  • How to include external files in JSP

    hi,
    How to include external files like image or javascript in to jsp pages.
    I am using MVC frame work. So i have to use request dispatcher. While calling the pages trough dispatcher the external files are missing from the output. Also am using tomcat as server,web.xml(deployment descriptor ) is also configured.
    regards
    sree

    When you use the request dispatcher, the relative path for all your ressources becomes the relative path of your calling serlvet and not the JSP/servlet that you call. Make sure to use the full relative path such as:
    /PATH_TO_YOUR_DIRECTORY/myRessource.ext
    NOT
    SOME_DIRECTORY/myRessource.ext

    Hi,
    How to include custom taglib in javascript on a given jsp page?

    <sample:pickListOptions employeeId="abcs123"/>
    but how should i embed it in javascript, so that i will be able to add it on the give jsp page.
    Thanks,
    Javaqueue

    when the jsp page is loaded for the first time it contains a select box containg names created by a taglib.but there is a feature i want to add wherein though javascript the name selectebox will keep on coming on each row i want to add. and this is row addition and deletion is being handled by the javascript. there i encounter the bug how to interact the javascript with taglib so tha with each row addition i will have populated taglib created select box on each row.

  • How to include an ASP page from JSP?

    I had a working ASP page to be repeated on each page of the web site as an navigation bar updated from a single SiteMap.xml. Anyone knew how to include the ASP page from the JSP app?
    Thanks

    You might achieve your desired result by calling the ASP page from your JSP controller (server side) using the standard JAVA HTTP classes you could then process the resulting XML. I suggest you look at the JAVA API for more information in particular the JAVA.NET package and the HTTPUrlConnection class...

  • How to Transform PSP (mod_plsql) to JSP

    I would like to know how complicated is to transform PSP to JSP.
    Can it be done using JPublisher?
    Why I am asking this is because PSP requires Oracle 9iAS, while JSP using JDBC can be deployed via ear (or war) files on any application server.
    Thanks

    PSP and JSP can be very similar. One uses PL/SQL and HTML as a language and the other uses Java and HTML. Here is an example of a PSP page and JSP page. These examples don't have any PL/SQL or Java code but you could easily add it (see documentation). Note that with PSP you usually list the procedure name in the hello_world.psp file. With JSP you just save the file as hello_world.jsp.
    <%@ page language="PL/SQL" %>
    <%@ page contentType="text/html" %>
    <%@ plsql procedure="hello_world" %>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Hello World</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>Hello World</p>
    </body>
    </html>
    <%@ page language="Java" %>
    <%@ page contentType="text/html" %>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Hello World</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>Hello World</p>
    </body>
    </html>

    I need dynamic inlude a jsp file by use inlude file B

    Use
    <%@ include file="file.jsp" %>

  • How to include more jsp?

    Hi,
    I've header.jsp, footer.jsp, content.jsp (which is loaded dynamically) and a main.jsp. I would include all jsp into main.jsp.
    This is the header.jsp
    <div id="logo" align="top">
    <img src="http://www.company.com/images/logo-red.gif"/>
    <div class="user-info">Welcome, <h:outputText value="#{user.email}"/></div>
    </div>
    The footer.jsp is
    <div id="footer">
    <div id="footer-copyright">Copyright &copy; 2006 MyCompany, Inc.</div>
    </div>
    The content.jsp is
    <h:dataTable value="#{controller.renderedSteps}" var="vitem"
    rowClasses="stepdescription-text">
    <h:column>
    <h:outputText id="stepDescription" value="#{vitem.step.description}"/>
    </h:column>
    <h:column>
    <h:commandButton value="next step"
    action="#{controller.nextStep}"
    rendered="#{vitem.isRendered}"
    disabled="#{vitem.isDisabled}" />
    </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    The body of main.jsp is
    <body>
    <f:view>
    <h:panelGrid>
    <jsp:include page="header.jsp"/>
    <jsp:include page="content.jsp"/>
    <jsp:include page="footer.jsp"/>
    </h:panelGrid>
    </f:view>
    </body>
    The problem is that when I load the main.jsp seems that the <div> are ignored.
    I'm very new in JSF and JSP\HTML.
    Thanks

    Use f:subview and use f:verbatim.
    First, f:verbatim... This JSF tag allows you to write HTML verbatim to your page. Whenever you have an HTML tag in any included page from a JSF app, it must be wrapped in f:verbatim. It is also good practice to use f:verbatim in your main page too, though it is not absolutely required. Do not wrap JSF tags in f:verbatim, it will not work.
    A general rule of thumb is to attempt to use as little HTML as possible. The JSF tag set with CSS actually eliminates the need for a great deal of HTML. I suggest picking up a good book that explains each component in the JSF library. Such as Core JavaServer Faces by David Geary and Cay Horstmann. Some free chapters can be found here (Check out "Basic Standard Components): http://www.horstmann.com/corejsf/
    Seconly, use f:subview when including a page. Either inside the included JSP or around the include statement. Like so:
    <f:subview id="header">
        <jsp:include page="header.jsp"/>
    </f:subview>
    OR
    <f:subview id="header">
    <f:verbatim><div id="logo" align="top">
    <a href="http://www.mycompany.com/">
    <img src="http://www.company.com/images/logo-red.gif"/>
    </a>
    <div class="user-info">Welcome, </f:verbatim><h:outputText value="#{user.email}"/><f:verbatim></div>
    </div></f:verbatim>
    </f:subview>For more information, check out this related forum posting:
