How to insert values in table using ADF Task flow? I am not able to bind CreateInsert on my first page fragement
Hi,
In Jdeveloper 12c I am trying to create a task flow where I have taken 3 pages to insert values in a table. On first page when I put data control of 2 columns as input with label, then on bindings tab I created an action as CreateInsert.
Now when I am trying to create invoke action in executables then this option is not available.
How can I create this task flow where values can be inserted in the table on the 3rd page fragment on commit button???
All 3 pages have data control input boxes to insert values in the table.
Hi,
Right click on the task flow page activity, click create page def and add there. If your activity is a page, then you can select the page and generate the pagedef as well.
Then you can add the executables.
Thanks.

How to insert record in table using ADF Table
Hi,
I am developing and application in ADF .it consist 5 tables.i need to insert into 1 table that contains IDs that are reffered from other tables and on ADF Table fi i dont want to show those IDs. Can somebody provide me solution how to do that?
like i have a SkillTable - that contains attributes Resource No(number) ,module Id(number), Track id(number), skill_type(number), skill_rating(number), experience(number).
Track id is reffered from track table
Module id is reffered from module table
Resource table is reffered from resource table
skill_type and skill_rating from lookup table
and i need to insert into SkillTable using ADF Table. we dont want to show Track id,module id,codes for skill_type nad skill_rating on ADF Table instead we want to show trackname and module name ,code values for skill_type and Skill_rating .
when we create ADF table for this skill table it shows me ids but what i want is that in each row it should show resource name,modulename,track name,and for skill_type and skill_rating it should show name of skill_types and Skill_rating rather than codes for each skill_type and Skill_rating.
we tried to insert by creating view ,but didnot work.
plz provide any solution.
ThnaklsHi,
Thanks for quick reply.but let me tell u my problem in more detail.
To insert into skill_table I have created a VO that contains ResourceNo, track_id, module_id,skill_type,skill_rating,experience. And I drag it on ADF creation form and also have created read only LOV for resource_name from resorce_table, LOV for skill_type,skill_rating from Lookup table,
And mapped those LOV to resource_no,skill_type,skill_rating on insert page.
For track_id I have converted inputtextBox to SelectinputText to create databound LOV which will popup a window that contain master detail for track_table and module_table which shows all track_names in master and corresponding module_names in detail table, and on that window I have select button when we click that button selected track_id and selected module_id will get populated to insert skill page in track_id selectinputtextbox and module_Id inpiuttextbox.
Now what I want is that instead of track_id and module_id populated on insert page coz these are of id's actually and we want to show values of these id's from other tables, I need to show selected track_name and module_name over on insert page.
Not getting any idea how to do that???

Do some processing before loading jsf fragment created using adf task flow
Hi,
I am working on JDev11g.
I want to create SelectItems of SelectOneChoice dynamically before loading jsf fragment created using adf task flow
I tried by implementing RegionController class's method RefreshRegion in my backing bean of jsf page fragement to do some processing before loading region
But it seems to be not feasible approach because it is getting called every time any component on fragement gets partially submitted.
Is there any method which is called only first time when region is loaded ?
Or any other solution to achieve this.
Regards,
DevangHi,
don't think so. You would need a phase listener, but I don't see how you get it in. Wha about using a dynamic region and then use the method that is called from the dynamic region first time it is rendered?

How to load data into table Using Script Task
We have a directory/folder where we have a file. We need to insert the File Created Date , File Name , Extension into the database table of Sql server by using Script Task.
So could you please suggest , how to frame the connection string , fetch the file details and insert the data into the database table using Script Task of SSIS 2008You can achieve it as follows using standard script task
1. Add a ForEachLoop container to point to your directory to iterate though the files. Add a variable of type string inside loop to get file name of each file it iterates. Choose option Filename and extension. Add a variable to just store extension part
(FileExtension), set EValuateAsExpression true for it and give expression as below
SUBSTRING(@[User::FileName],FINDSTRING(@[User::FileName],".",1)+1,LEN(@[User::FileName]))
2. Add a script task inside loop and pass filename variable as a read only variable to it. Crete a new variable to get creationdate and pass it as ReadWrite. Inside write code as below
Public Sub Main()
' Add your code here
Dim f As New System.IO.FileInfo(Dts.Variables("FileName").Value.ToString())
Dts.Variables("FileCreatedDate").Value = f.CreationTime
Dts.TaskResult = ScriptResults.Success
End Sub
3. Add a Exec SQL Task after Script task inside loop and give a query like below
INSERT INTO TableName (FileName,CreatedDate,Extension)
VALUES(?,?,?)
and in parameter tab map the parameter placeholders 0,1 and 2 to @[User::FileName],@[User::FileCreatedDate] & @[User::FileExtension] variables

How to insert into two tables using a Single ADF creation form?
Hi,
I need to make a ADF Creation Form that will insert the data at same time in two tables... Like i have two tables Track (Track_id,Track_Name)
and Module ( Module_id, Track_id, Module_name, Module_Short_name) and i have to insert the data in both the tables using Same Creation Form.
can anybody help me out and gave me the solution,how to do that?
Thanksif you want to insert different data into two different tables then you can drag the two data objects into creation form..
If you want to duplicate the data inserted in the one table to another then you can follow two approach
1. Drag and drop one table, When Save button is invoked then insert data into another table using callable statement.
or
2. Create on-insert trigger in Table1 where you can insert data into table2.

How to insert values in table control & how to place listbox in table ctrl
Dear all,
I have created table control in Module pool program. My requirement is first
1)How to place list box in table control
2)Based on listbox selection i have to enter values in table control row..
With Regards,
BaskaranHi Baskaran,
For displaing list box, use FM: VRM_SET_VALUES.
Code like that:
TYPE-POOLS: vrm.
DATA: name TYPE vrm_id,
list TYPE vrm_values,
value LIKE LINE OF list.
PARAMETERS: ps_parm(10) AS LISTBOX VISIBLE LENGTH 15.
Instead of parameter for module pool , you declare data:
AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
name = 'PS_PARM'.
value-key = '3500000002'.
value-text = '3500000002'.
APPEND value TO list.
value-key = '3500000003'.
value-text = '3500000003'.
APPEND value TO list.
name = 'PS_PARM'.
value-key = '3500000004'.
value-text = '3500000004'.
APPEND value TO list.
name = 'PS_PARM'.
value-key = '3000000007'.
value-text = '3000000007'.
APPEND value TO list.
CALL FUNCTION 'VRM_SET_VALUES'
EXPORTING
id = name
values = list.
make the necesary change for module pool.
Hope this can solve your problems.

How to merge 3 different tables using ADF BC?
Hi
I have 3 tables (i.e., Employee, Dept, location)
First i need to merge Employee and Dept as "*EmployeeDept*" table with the primary key(EmployeeID) and then i should merge "*EmployeeDept*" with Dept table with the primary key(DeptID) of Dept table.
I tried "*ViewLink*" however i am able to merge only two tables(i.e., Employee and Dept) as "EmployeeDept", no idea how to merge the third table(Dept) with it.
Please help.
Thanks in advanceHi Timo
Employee -- EmployeeID,FirstName,LastName,*DepartmentID*, JobID
Dept -- DepartmentID, DepartmentName, ManagerID, LocationID
Location -- LocationID, StreetAddress, City, CountryID
Will join Employee and Dept table as "EmployeeDept" by using Query *( select EmployeeID, FirstName, DepartmentName,*
LocationID From Employee, Dept where Employee.DepartmentID = Dept.DepartmentID)
So now i need to join this new "EmployeeDept" with Location table to get the columns from both using query like
*(select EmployeeID, FirstName, DepartmentName, LocationID, StreetAddress, City, CountryID From EmployeeDept, Location*
where EmployeeDept.LocationID = Location.LocationID)

when ever the user clicks forgot password it wil send the password to the respected email id given in the smtp tablem how tom achieve this requirement using view object ..............Hi,
1. create VO and define Ciew Criteria to query rows based on a bind variable
2. Go to Application Module and select VO, then press Edit button to associate View Criteria
3. Build public method in Application Module Impl class to take user name as an input argument
4. Expose this method on the AM client interface (also shown on the Java category of the AM editor)
5. In the method, use this this.findViewObject("instance name"); to get a hold onto the VO
6. Add the user name to the bind variable using the viewObject.getVariableManager()
7. Execute VO
8. get first row
9. send mail
10. Drag and drop method from the Data Control panel to your login page
11. Use EL to reference the username provided by the user (managed bean reference?)

ADF Task Flow: Browse and Edit pages
Hi,
My application includes two pages, a Browse page and an Edit page. The Browse page provides the list of departments (read-only table) and allows you to select a department from the list to edit the department details (form).
How can I develop this common scenario using ADF task flows? Important - I need to display Browse and Edit on two different jsf pages.
Thanks, AlIt should be pretty easy.
1) Create your browse and edit page
2) drop them onto a task flow
3) Connect the pages with navigation cases.
4) Set the ACTION property of a button on the browse page to reference the navigation case that goes to the edit page
5) Hook up the reverse to go back to the browse page

JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 - "No view port found" error in ADF task-flow
Hi,
My customer uses JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.
They are developing jspx using ADF task-flow.
They see following errors in stdout log when the view in the page was changed.
But their application seems to work correctly after the errors.
Does anyone know how to solve these errors?
Or, does anyone know whether these errors affects ADF(or JSF) applications, or not?
If these errors don't affect to them, they will consider ignoring these messages for now.

Open new browser window in ADF Task Flow
Hello to everyone,
I have a question for those who have an experience in this area.
So, I use ADF Task Flow model and my question is how can I open a new browser window from the task flow model?
A know to use the abbreviation "dialog:" in navigation rules, but it opens just modal dialog.
Thanks in advance.
Dimitar SaykovHi Frank,
Thanks for your responce. I appreciated it.
I've made what you told me to do and it works perfectly with unbounded task flow. But when I try to use bounded task flow in runtime i've had this error:
oracle.adf.controller.ControllerException: ADFC-02001: ADF Controller cannot find '/WEB-INF/response-flow-definition'.

at oracle.adf.controller.internal.metadata.MetadataService.getTaskFlowDefinition(MetadataService.java:214)
Here is my code:
HashMap<String, Object> params = new HashMap<String, Object>();
String taskflowId="RespEntity";
String taskflowDocument="WEB-INF/response-flow-definition";
String taskflowURL = ControllerContext.getInstance().getTaskFlowURL(false,new TaskFlowId(taskflowDocument,taskflowId), params);
launchWindow(taskflowURL,true);
So, do you know where I should put or register the definition of my bounded task flow "response-flow-definition.xml" ?

How to perform DML Operations on Spatial Table Using ADF
Hi
I have an urgent requirement. I have a table with Spatial column. I have generated Business components based on Spatial Table.
Now I have to perform Create,Read,Update and Delete operations using ADF Business Components on Spatial Table.
I have written custom create(),read(),update() and delete() methods in my Application Module and i have to implement those methods.
Can any one help me out how to acheive above four functionalities using ADF Business Components.
Thanks in AdvanceHI,
see this example.

connid TYPE sflight-connid,
seatsocc TYPE sflight-seatsocc,

DATA seats_tab LIKE HASHED TABLE OF seats
WITH UNIQUE KEY carrid connid with header line.
SELECT carrid connid seatsocc
FROM sflight
INTO table seats.
loop at seats.
COLLECT seats INTO seats_tab.
endloop.
LOOP AT seats_tab.
