None of the pre-built vmmemctl modules for VMware Tools is suitable for your
running kernel. Do you want this program to try to build the vmmemctl module
for your system (you need to have a C compiler installed on your system)?
    [no]
The memory manager driver (vmmemctl module) is used by VMware host software to
efficiently reclaim memory from a virtual machine.
If the driver is not available, VMware host software may instead need to swap
guest memory to disk, which may reduce performance.
The rest of the software provided by VMware Tools is designed to work
    independently of this feature.
If you want the memory management feature, you can install the driver by
running vmware-config-tools.pl again after making sure that gcc, binutils, make
and the kernel sources for your running kernel are installed on your machine.
These packages are available on your distribution's installation CD.

  • How to install Bumblebee-GUI in Arch?

Hello, as the tittle said, i want to know how to install the "bumblebee-gui" in Arch. I have installed bumblebee with Bbswitch, everything works cool and smooth, but i want to have the icon in the taskbar cause it sends notifications about bumblebee state. I know it's not essential, but i like eyes candy and i dont like doing a "cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch" every time. The wiki just says nothing about it, i think it needs some updates or maybe it's just not available in Arch. I tried to do the way the official page said ( https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/bu … indicator), but i couldn't start it. Could you help me with it?
    Anyway Thanks!

The link you quoted is broken, however there is an entire Arch Wiki page about BumbleBee
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bumblebee
You may have broke something if you did not install through AUR.

  • How to install Application Tool Box in HFM

    Hi
I have a requirement to just install Hyperion Application tool box on a client machine (say Windows 7)  for Hyperion 11.1.2.2 version. I have tried installing via HFM Utilities installer available on OTN but I get Active X error and I am not sure if that will get the required software. On HFM server I see that the tool box exists.
Please let me know if someone has already installed this or faced similar issue.
    Thanks
    Anjum

Have a read of the following Oracle support doc - How to Install HFM Toolbox on a Client Machines? (Doc ID 1537520.1)
or How To Install The Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Application Toolbox And Access HFM Clusters On Windows Workstation (Doc ID 1634377.1)

  • How to install Paralle deskop on mac mini

I am planning to purchase a Mac Mini.  Along with Mac I need to install Windows 7 also on that using parallel deskop. Mac mini will not have  CD\DVD drive. So how will in install paralle desktop and windows 7 on it.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If you already purchased Parallels and you have it in a disc, you have to buy an external optical drive. If you have another PC or Mac, you can use Remote Disc instead to install Parallels > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5287
If you haven't purchased Parallels Desktop yet, you can purchase it in the Parallels website as a download

  • How to install vmware tools in cucm on Vmware Player

I'm running CUCM 8.0.1 and Unity Connection 8.0.1 on VMWare Player.  I need to install the VMWare Tools.  I'm using the COP file from the CCO (ciscocm.vmtoolsUpgrade4.1-8.3.2-257589-v14.cop.sgn).  However, it's not loading. I Clicked Install VMWare Tools from Player so the CDRom is mounted and has the COP file in it, but I can't seem to get the path.  The connection is use physical device /dev/cdrom and I have a burned COP file in the dvd drive.  I keep getting "The directory could not be located."
I have NTP enabled and "the NTP Service is accessible"
I tried the Remote File System but keep getting the error: "An unknown error occurred while accessing the upgrade file."  I tried different files, e.g. locale file, but get the same error.  Is there something else I need to do on the VM?  The Host machine is Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit.
Is there a document on this?  VMWare Player is ver 6.0.  The VMs were built in VMWare server 2.0 a while back.

Thanks for the link.  It is for vSphere and I'm using Player so Step 2 is a little different.  I choose Virtual Machine>Upgrade VMWare Tools.  The settings are set to "use ISO file" and the path is to the linux.iso file.
When I run the 'utils vmtools upgrade' command, it says: "Executed command unsuccessfully, no valid command entered"
    Any other procedures to try?

pacman -S base-devel && pacman -Suy should give you everything you need, except specific dependencies.
Ahh  that what I get for posting without refreshing OP.

  • How to install developer tools on late 2010 MBA?

    Hi Folks,
How can I install the developer tools from the USB stick? I could not find them.
    Thanks,
    Vitalstatistix

I followed the link you gave.  The only download I saw was for Xcode 4, and they either wanted $5 to purchase it from the app store or a 1 year mac developer license thing which was $100.

It's legacy terminology, or perhaps it refers to the BIOS, not your OS. I presume it means "i386, not Motorola RISC" or something; grub goes way back. Look at the files in the 64-bit package -- they all refer to "usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/" and so on. I've installed grub2 on my 64-bit system according to the wiki instructions and it boots just fine, GPT and all.

  • How to install Qt SDK In Arch?

    Hey guys,
I downloaded the qt sdk and extracted it to /usr/local/src. Then chmodded it and ran it and installed into /usr/local/bin/qt. While installing it gave an error about a library not found and that it couldn't find a symbian emulator. Anyone got this to work? What am i doing wrong? Permissions error? How would you go about doing it?

Why are you installing software that way?   Is "pacman -S qt" not enough?

    Moc did not use gstreamer.
@xjpvictor: install ffmpeg package (not gstreamer-ffmpeg) and rebuild moc with the current pkgbuild.
You can use -svn version too :  http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=12793

  • How to install VM ware tools?

    Hi,
first of all i would like to say i am beginner in using oracle linux and virtualization.
I have installed oracle linux in my IBM server. we would like to make 2 node to install fusion applications. so we thought of installing vmware and make 2 node.
But we have found virtual machine manager ( fromtool bar menu Applications>>system tools>>virtual machine manager) tool in oracle linux 5.9.  so rather than go for VM ware we have successfully installed virtual machine using virtual machine manager tool. everything went smooth but we couldn't able to install vm tools in the virtual machine.
Can anybody explain me how to install vm tools?
As we know in VM ware we have navigation from file menu >>VM>> install VM tools option available. but in our case with OEL5.9 we are not getting this option why? do i have done anything wrong?

    Hi,

As i said earlier iam using virtual machine manager tool, which is comes with oracle linux.
as clear i have installed oracle linux on IBM server(physical server), i have found virtual machine manager as per navigation below:
Applications>>system tools>>virtual machine manager ( select this option) (On left hand side of tool bar menu)
virtual machine manager popup window open and i went through :
