How to italic partial text at runtime?

Hi Sir,
Is it possible to italic partial of a text in oracle report only at the time of generation?
For example, i have 2 different language of text from a single column. When generating in report, i want one of the language to be displayed as italic, is that possible?

How to get only partial text of a paragraph into the table of content?

currently I'm working on a manuscript based on the publication manual of the American Psychological Association.
Unfortunately, there is some sort of heading that's placed right in front of further text. Here an example:
+This is my heading.+ Now ordinary text formatted differently should follow.
Does anyone here know, how to get the text of the heading (but not the following text) into the table of content? For as far as I know I can't format the heading as a different paragraph than the following text.
By the way, I use pages'08.

thanks for your suggestion, unfortunately I already tried that and it didn't work. I have created several unique styles. Problem is, I need two diferent styles in *one paragraph* - one style for the "heading", which is consistent to the APA manual not an own paragraph (sorry, not my idea...), and another style for the following text. As my example above shows, the heading is followed by usual text and I may not press return after the heading and switch to a new paragraph..
It has to look exactly like this:
+heading in italics.+ Now heading is followed by usual text without changing the paragraph or starting a new line. Blurb blurb blurb whatsoever blurb blurb. The text goes on an on and an on you see.
I can't format the heading differently than the text (because if I try, the whole paragraph is formatted this way) and so I can't add just the heading to the TOC. Do you see what my problem is? Got any other suggestion?

We can change the Text of a Pushbutton dynamically.
For this:
1. Declare a Global variable with the Same name as the Button in TOP include
Eg: Data: Button1(30).
2. In the PBO module of the Screen assign the Text to this variable:
 Eg:
 Module set_text OUTPUT.
 Button1 = 'This is the text'.
 ENDMODULE.
REWARD IF HELPFUL.

 What you were doing is partially right.
The correct format to write in the script is as follows :
/: if &PRICE& ne 0.
&PRICE&
/: endif.

I put the java code in SYS, 'cause I assume that account has max privilege. If the test is successful, I will move that to some user schema and then to deal with those privilege settings... But I'm unlucky.

would be able to print directly from the server.
Looks like using Java to print out file is better than PL/SQL. But there's no more hint there! And, no new question can be asked there today either...
I'm wondering whether we can create a socket to a printer and send the characters there directly... Anyone has experience on this?

AS of now you will not be able to change the Text Field ( Label ) dynamically or at runtime. This is a limitation.Refer to this link:

But, there is a way around.
You can make a text field Visible / Invisible based on your program logic. So, based on what you want, you can process a module which will take care of that.

How to change the text "form of address" while Create User in EP6.0??

We are using NDS 2.0.9 & EP6.0.
I have the following doubts:
1) I have to change the text Form of Address which comes when we Create User in EP.
Can any1 please let me know how to change that text? Is there any .par file? What is the name of .par file (if any) which is used to Create User in EP6.0??
2) I am getting the value of this form of address by request.getSalutation() in PDK, but this value is coming in the Welcome Message in the masthead. I tried to change the masthead by changing the corresponding code, but i am getting a runtime error. Is there any other method of making this salutation value NOT appear in the masthead welcome message?

Just delete the first part and always use the second:

We also found there was a "COL TEXT A80" in our glogin.sql. I don't know whether we put it there or whether it was installed by default. This resulted in some views which had been defined with longer lines having words chopped in half, which is no good for creating scripts. Therefore when selecting view text I also issue a
COL TEXT A200 word_wrapped

Can anyone tell me how to increase the text size in my menu bar and drop down menus?

Just bought a new 27" screen iMac. The menu bar and drop down menu text is much to small for me to see without leaning close to the screen. Does anyone know how to customize the text to a larger size. This is an issue for any program I open.

Once upon a time Apple displays packed in 72 dots to an inch (making their resolution 72 DPI). That meant that what we saw on screen at 100% scale was exactly what was printed on a printer - not to mention quite comfortable to read. However that advantage was eclipsed by the fact that photopgraphs and video were pixelated and the only solution to that was to increase the resolution - to pack in more dots per inch - which has the side effect of shrinking the size of text. Where I once used Word at 100% scale I now find it most comfortable at 150% scale.
There are several solutions. One, as Lex gave you, was to reduce the resolution of the LCD display. But unlike CRT displays, an LCD is tuned to a specific resolution and when you change it the results tend to be blurry. Another is to keep the resolution as it is and to adjust each program (if the program allows it). This makes Word usable and your browser can be set to use no font smaller than a size you set (which has some unpleasant side affects at some Web sites), but some programs and some parts of programs cannot be changed. The menubar and menus are among them. The third solution is one that Apple promised several years ago but has not yet provided - a resolution independant GUI. We can only hope that comes soon. And there's another partial solution - look in System Preferences under Accessibility.

How to update the ItemRenderer at runtime..?

Hi....
am facing a hectic problem with ITemRenderes..
My requirement is like i need to insert a Label and Image in
each item of Horizontal List.
For this i created a ArrayCollection with Lable and
ImagePath. And assigning array as a Dataprovider to HorizontalList.
and am attaching itemrenderer to it (which hold the lable and
image).
code:

Now the porblem is am trying to change the horizontal list at
runtime. Like i want to change the lable of selected item in
Horizontal list. Am able to update the arraycollection values. But
its not getting effected in ItemRenderer.
How to update the itemerenderer at runtime...?

See how that works..you press the button and the itemrenderer
gets drawn into the horiz. list with the values from the
arraycollection.
I didnt implement the picture, but you get the idea on how to
get
the values into the hlist..

Jtable - partial text selection

Hey all,
I have a read-only table.
Currently, when a user clicks on a cell, the whole cell is selected.
I want to allow the user to select only a partial text in the cell - mainly for copy purposes.
How can I achieve that?

The trick (with Swing) is that the JTable must be enabled and you must register a custom Tableeditor that prevents the string from changing:

If I understood your problem correctly...
When you create a user decision a screen will appear.
In the decision tab under Title you can give your custom text.
Even if you want to give some variable (value of which will be determined at runtime) you can give that as well.
Like you have created a container for BOR objects MAT_DETAIL, in that object there is a field MATERIAL.
You can define your custom text as below:
Title: Would you like to create new material or display material &
Parameter 1: &MAT_DETAIL.MATERIAL&;
In Title you can give as max. as 4 &(ampersand). And each & will be replaced by each Parameter at runtime in same sequence.
In parameters you use to select the container defined by you earlier.
