How to kill a running BPEL instance

Hi,
I have started executing a BPEL process. If this BPEL process has an infinite loop or ( reading a large number of records) then it may take more time to execute. Mean while, if I want to terminate this process, then how can I terminate from the BPEL console? Or any other interface, if one is available.
I hope choosing the retired and off options for that BPEl process will not stop the running process. So I need your help to find out if there is any more other ways.
Thanks,
Khaleel

Hi,
Could you givem the update statement? What need to be changed. If you have any document on the BPEL dehyderation databse structure and purpose and etc information, it will be a great help.

  • How to archive the completed BPEL instances?

    Hi, all
A customer using the SOA Suite 10g, which has this question:
With the business more and more, the completed BPEL instances more and more.
In the BPEL Console, more and more instances are showed.
How long the lifecycle of these completed instances?
The customer didn't want to purge these instances, do we have another way to archive this instances?
    Any reply is appreciated.

How about copy the ORABPEL schema, periodically into another schema? Or copy the tables? Then purge the completed instances

  • Long Running Bpel Instance.

    Hi All,
One of My bpel process spawns 100 child bpel process. out of which 60 are in recover(invokes), and 40 bpel processes are in running state.
These 40 bpel instances are still in open.running state, even though I restarted the server.
Can any one provide the reason for this?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Ranjan,
Our BPEL process was not showing any activity after DB adapter invocation and state was showing as open.running.
So we went to "recover invoke" tab under "adminisrtation" tab and selected activity, so my process was recovered.
    Thanks for responding.

  • How to kill a running VI?

    Hi All,
I was looking through the examples provided by NI for Labview 8. I opened the example called "Simple case structure.vi" and executed it.
Once I selected a negative number, a popup came on and it said "Error, Negative number". The problem is that I keep pressing OK and the message just comes back again and I have no way of changing the input value.
To correct this example, I would suggest that once a negative value is introduced, the program should reset the input box to 0.
My question is how can I stop this task from within Labview? I tried Ctrl + . and many other variations, but none allowed me to stop the execution. I preffer not to kill the whole Labview from within Windows.
    Regards,
    Nick

Usually when I have a VI I cannot stop due to an error I coded in the VI the vi has a menu I created. (RTM file)
To get around this, I exit the app with Task Manager. This allows me to get a pop-up that offers an option to save my work. (LV 6.1)
Once out, I rename the RTM file so the program cannot find it. A default menu appears next time I run the program. CTRL . now works. I can go in and fix the errors of my ways. Then I exit and save.
Of course I have to rename the RTM file back to allow LV to see it on next running.
This has save me on several occasions.
These event structures will be the death of me.....
I hope this helps any other programmers that feel stuck when CTRL . does not appear to work.

  • Is it possible to get the scope name within a running BPEL instance

I am currently adding some error handling for a business fault and wondered whether there is any way to get the scope name at run time. I am already catching the fault details using getFaultAsString but the support team have asked whether we can log any other additional information such as the scope name to help the diagnose the problems quickly.
If any one has any ideas on other details that may be worth logging please let me know.
    Thanks Rich

You can also use the DOM API to traverse the XML tree and generate your path. But I advice to look into XPath because it is very easy to get values with simple XPath strings. Here's a good start:

  • Invoke OnMessage activity of a running BPEL process instance...

    Hi,
We are using Oracle BPEL 10.1.2.0.2. I am willing to invoke a running instance of a BPEL process (Timer) in following scenario:
The 'Timer' BPEL Process gets initiated, and logs its instance-id into the database
'Timer' process waits on an OnMessage activity for another process to invoke it
Another BPEL process selects the instance-id of 'Timer' process from the database
The question is: in the above scenario, can the 2nd BPEL process invoke the OnMessage activity of the Timer BPEL process. I did search through the Locator API but was unable to find a method which can invoke a running BPEL instance.
I am not willing to use correlation here because correlation does not guaranty the invocation of the target BPEL process and also does not generate any error if no instance gets invoked.
    Thanks,
    Upendra Jariya.

JDK 5.0 includes sample code for java.lang.management API in the <JDK>/demo/management directory. In particular, demo/management/VerboseGC demonstrates how to use the java.lang.management API to print GC statistics in a similar way to -verbose:gc.
You can reference this demo program and make appropriate modification, for example, just to call java.lang.management.MemoryMXBean.setVerbose() operation to turn on/off the -verbose:gc tracing.

  • Indexing for BPEL instances in 11g

Can any one give some suggestion on how to do indexing for bpel instances in 11g.
    I am trying like below
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement studentRollNo= (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement)getVariableData("inputVariable", "payload", "/ns1:StudentList/ns1:Student/ns1:StudentRollNo");
    setIndex(3, studentRollNo.getFirstChild().getNodeValue());
But i am unable to get index search for student roll no except instance id.

yes, on em console there is no option to search based on index value. We can only search composite instance.

Faulted bpels can be resubmit based on exception it has raised. If it remote fault yes, definitely you can retry.
If there is a binding fault there is no point in retrying.
You have options to test the bpel from EM console, using the button Test Service if you are using SOA 11g
otherwise you can use the SOAPUI to initiate the BPEL
    Thanks,

On this new ios7 update how do I kill apps running in the background now? I used to be able to double tap the home button

Double tap the home button.  Slide the preview window upward.  You can do 2 at a time.
It's rarely useful or necessary to do this. Very few apps actually "run in the background" (such as audio streaming and navigation apps).  The vast majority are frozen and consume no resources.  The iOS manages memory for you to optimize running apps.

  • How to find bpel instance in 11g based on the index values

We have 10g BPEL process where we define 4 index values for all the instances. Whenever support request comes, we ask index values and based on that we search the process instance.
We have migrated this 10g bpel process to 11g now. How to find bpel instance in 11g based on the index values ???

I have multiple bpel in my composite. I checked in ci_indexes table and it shows the instance number of the bpel process. But the em console is showing only the composite instance number. when I opened composite instance, I could see all the bpel process with instance number in the audit trail. How can I find the the actual composite instance number that I should search for in the em console ???

  • How can I run multiple instances of an app in netbeans?

    Hi,
I would like to run multiple instances of an app in netbeans, this is essential when making GUI changes and you want to compare them with the older version.
    Thanks in advance,

It is still true that Netbeans cannot launch the same project twice, even with the latest 7.2 and JavaFX Beta version. When trying to "run" the second instance, Netbeans tries to rebuild the project jar file but can't delete it because it is "locked" by the first instance.
For JavaFX projects, I start one instance by double-clicking the jar file (in the project's dist folder), then use Netbeans to launch the second instance. For comparing your app's old vs. new screens, save the old app version by copying the project folder to another place and use the double-click jar to launch the old app, then proceed to revise the new app version and launch it under Netbeans. That's how you run one version "outside" another version.
