How to kill session when connection closed

Hi,
we develop asp.net application and we use oracle database at the backend.
when we close oracle connection inside asp.net application oracle session still remains. We disabled connection pooling but nothing changed.
This causes that so many sessions there are and very often tns erros occur.
In the case of we close oracle connection inside asp.net application oracle session must be killed.
How can we achieve this ?
any help is greatly appreciated..
thank you.

I'm not sure I've encountered a case where disabling connection pooling did not make the connection go away once the connection was disposed.
Are you also disposing of any connected objects you may have created (blobs, refcursors, etc)?
Do you have a small simple aspx page you can submit that demonstrates the behavior?

  • How to invalidate session when i browse another url with out closing browse

    Hi,
    How can i find when i type another url and browse to that site without closing the browser.when i left the site i have to invalidate the session.
    how can i recognise this event.
    thanks

    You might be able to do this by catching a javascript event, then you'd need to submit a request back to the server before any session invalidation could occur. Basically, the server never know when the user is gone - that's why there's a timeout in sessions. The only other way is to have a logout button that the user clicks on to send the request to invalidate the session.

  • How to kill session in forms

    In my application I want to kill session if any user
    is idle for 2 minutes.
    I am using oracle forms 6i and database oracle 9i

    You have to use D2KWutil.pll
    In when new form instance write the following code
    declare
    hWind PLS_INTEGER;
    CheckTimer TIMER;
    begin
    hWind := get_window_property(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,WINDOW_HANDLE);
    Win_API_Session.Timeout_Start_Timer(hWind);
    CheckTimer := Create_Timer('CheckTimeout',1000,repeat);
    end;
    and in when timer expired trigger write the following code
    begin
    if upper(get_application_property(TIMER_NAME)) = 'CHECKTIMEOUT' then
                   :timer.t1 := Win_api_session.Timeout_Get_Inactive_Time;
    if :timer.t1 > 120 then -- timer is a block and t1 is text item (don't assign a canvas to it, make it invisible)
    Win_API_Session.timeout_delete_timer;
    exit_form (NO_VALIDATE);
    end if;
    end if;
    end;
    hope this helps !!

  • How to change ringtone when connected via bluetooth

    When the Z3C is paired via bluetooth with my car audio system, the Z3C playes a different ringtone then the one which I have set as default.
    How can I change (set) the ringtone when the Z3C is connected in my car?

    I'm not to sure but I would imagine it has something to do with Smart connect and how it's setup when paired

              No, not really. The session is not related to the browser being open. The
              closest you can get to that is to use Javascript to detect the user closing
              or leaving the site but many people turn off Javascript and it may not be
              supported on all browsers.

  • (ask)how to detect locking and how to kill session

    I want to update a row in a table, table "X" for example.
    I got ORA-00054:resource busy and acquire with no wait spesified.
    How do i search and kill the session that is locking the table? i dont have oracle Enterprise Manager so i think it has to be done by querying against v$session, v$transaction etc. to get the session and kill it.
    Can anyone show me the select statement to find out the sesion and the command to kill it.
    thank you

    DBA_OBJECTS holds the object_id.
    Use the object_id to select locks from V$LOCK, where object_id equals ID1 or ID2 (depends on the type of lock).

  • How to kill session on browser close

    Can anyone tell me, how to invalidate the session on browser closes. I am using Internet Explorer as
    browser.

    Hi anmol10
    if evnafets is to be believed, there is no 100% surefire way to do this. This is doing my head in a bit - I refuse to believe that there isn't some way around this.
    I've been trying all kinds of things, kicking off threads that keep track of the sessions etc, but to no avail.
    Let us know if you think of anything!

    Hi,
    You have to catpture the "set-cookie" header from the response which you got in the first request. The same "set-cookie" value has to be set in the subsequent requests' header. Please see the below code snippet to collect the "set-cookie" and set the cookie in the subsequest requests.
    //how to Collect the "set-cookie" from the response
    if (urlConnection != null)
    for (int i = 1;(key = urlConnection.getHeaderFieldKey(i)) != null; i++)
    System.out.println(urlConnection1.getHeaderFieldKey(i) + ": " + urlConnection.getHeaderField(key));
    if (key.equalsIgnoreCase("set-cookie"))
    String cookiValue = urlConnection1.getHeaderField(key);
    //How to set the cookie value in the subsequent requests
    urlConnection2.setRequestProperty("Cookie", cookiValue);
    Good luck.

  • How to make sounds when Opening/ Closing windows, folders.

    I liked this back when I was on OS 9 using R2D2 sounds, is there any freeware apps for this?
    Didn't see one on Version Tracker, Thks.

    Hi, MacUser88.
    AFAIK, your only choice is the shareware application Xounds. However, I'm not a fan of such hacks or "haxies" — I never use them and would advise you think seriously before using them. Quite, boring, and stable is often preferable to noisy, cool, and unstable.
    The only freeware offering in that arena was MooSB, but it does not appeared to have evolved since Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar.
    You may also want to search MacUpdate for interface sounds or appearance sounds, the latter being what they were called back in Mac OS 9, if memory serves.
    Good luck!

    Hi Arti,
    You may want to check out how to use JDBC Datasources intead of the JDBC URL to connect to your database at the OC4J level. This method will manage the number of open db sessions that the OC4J can access. It is normal to have the sessions connected even after the browser has closed. It actually saves processing on the database because you don't need additional resources to open sessions, and you're reusing technology on connection management that is part of the database DNA. It is designed this way so that the OC4J can reuse existing connections for performance reasons among others.
    To do this on ADFBC, these are the files that you'll need to modify:
    1) data-sources.xml
    2) bc4j.xcfg for every application module to use JDBC Datasources instead of JDBC URL. (Right-click, configuration on the AM)
    However, for testing, the business component browser will need to use the JDBC URL connection.
    I hope this helps.

    Clicking on Microsoft Update opened Firefox, but Microsoft Update couldn't run from Firefox; when I closed Firefox I lost all my tabs and couldn't restore anything but the Microsoft page; how can I restore the tabs from an earlier session?

    Hi Diovizor,
    Make sure that you do not use [http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History Clear Recent History] to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.
    Also please make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.
    You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Preferences > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
    To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Preferences > Privacy > History: Firefox will: Use custome settings for history. Uncheck "Always use permanent Private Browsing mode"
    Hope that helps!

  • How can i invalidate Session when a browser crashes?

    Hi
    How can i invalidate session when a browser window closed or crashed unexpectedly.
    If user closed the browser window using File->Close, then i'm calling javascript function .... and it is working fine. But when browser window is hanged and closed using ENDTASK, how can i kill that session.
    Please help
    Thanks
    -Vidyadhar

    Well you can't. Execution halts, so anything you would want to do is made impossible: that's why crashes are the #1 enemy of any software developer (that and impossible deadlines). The webserver will remove the session manually when it times out though.
